Rate this book
In our lives, we encounter various facets that hold importance to us. Two significant aspects that often capture our attention are sports and religion. While both hold different significance, it is interesting to observe the contrasting behaviors exhibited towards them. Combining the world of sports, faith, and Scriptures, Willie Torres Jr.'s "Take Me Out With The Crowd" evokes encouragement, enlightenment, and reflections.

Eight years ago, Torres's life changed after he fully submitted himself to God. Since then, he has lived with purpose, sharing words of wisdom through his writings that inspire many. "Take Me Out With The Crowd" is a faith-filled book that weaves together sports and religion and how these two domains are interconnected and impact people's lives.

World-renowned sports enthusiasts enlivened this book, as Torres shared how these individuals believe that their faith defines them more than their talents, as with the Olympic gymnastic gold medalist Gabby Douglas, who understands that her achievements are not solely achieved by her efforts but also by God's grace and blessings. Humility shines through in their hearts, as with Stephen Curry, who gives God full credit for his abilities, and Manny Pacquiao's ultimate belief of being nothing without Christ.

These examples and Torres's personal testimonies are reminders that talent is mere nothing without acknowledging its source. Believing it is a God-given gift and using it to inspire others and to spread the faith to their fandoms is a great way to lead by example.

Torres's message about approaching a conversation with sensitivity and respect rather than Bible thumping is commendable, as it fosters open communication with peace, compassion, and inclusivity to all believers. I can't agree more with how Torres stated that prayer is one important tool that can shape hearts and minds and how a person changes their perspective of life if they recognize that the world is a temporary home.

Further, idolizing is a tricky thing, as fans need to discover more about their idols if their beliefs resonate with them. Overall, the prose is moving and personal, which motivates readers to prioritize time with God and acknowledge His blessings.

Themes of faith, friendship, respect, and understanding, among others, invigorate this highly readable book, making it a perfect read for Christian believers. Torres's admirable character shines through in every line; hence, I'm a fan. I can't wait to read more of Willie Torres's books!
