This book is for a reader who likes folklore and myths, yet wants to read a modern story that can effectively incorporate them and give homage to them. It's funny, and very entertaining, and the stories are short enough to read in one setting and come back to without losing your place. I read most of this while I was waiting for my sister to come out of surgery. It kept me entertained, lifted my spirits, and took my mind off my sister being under the knife for a surgery that could have had bad complications. I first read Patrick Thomas in the Bad Ass Faeries anthology and I knew I wanted to read more of him. He's very creative, and I love how he created this bar owned by a leprechaun, in which all sorts of beasties and characters from much loved folktales and myths mix and mingle. There is even a cameo by the Wandering Jew, a man who taunted Jesus on the way to the crucifixion and was cursed to walk the earth until His return. There's even a Beat the Devil-themed story in this volume. Trust me, this book is a load of fun.
