A short collection of homilies by Cardinal Ratzinger, later Pope Benedict, addressing the priesthood and providing his usual encouragement to students for the priesthood and to priests in the vineyard. As a philosopher and a keen observer of the signs of the times, Ratzinger has been successful in producing works of theology that are easy to read and directly address current questions. Such also are his homilies and they are very welcome. In this collection may be found encouragement to persevere in a difficult task and repeated exhortations to find joy in the work of Christ, the beginning and the end of everything that the Church does.

Este libro recopila una serie de homilías de Benedicto XVI cuando aún era cardenal. todas están homilías tienen como tema de fondo el sacerdocio.
Como cada uno de los escritos de este gran hombre, me sorprende la profundidad con la que reflexiona sobre los diferentes pasajes bíblicos, analizando cada detalle que muchas veces leo y pasan desapercibidos.

It is a little dense, not uncommon for the late Holy Father. I gave it three stars because I believe there are better reflections and meditations on the priesthood out there. All in all a good and worthwhile read though.
