Colorful Personalities: Discover Your Personality Type Through the Power of Colors

It isn't a bad book. I do not know if I believe in this stuff but it seems to be be coming quite popular.

So the theory here is that A certain color can determine your personality type. You take a quiz, read your results and then you read about your "color" and your positive and negative attributes. I am simplifying it a bit but that is the general premise.

My old boss actually read a book on this subject..I do not know if it was this one, there are many..and divided everyone in the company into their "colors" for a day to interact. It was actually quite fun even though as I said I am a skeptic.

The problem is there are only a few colors..it isn't like you get 40 selections. And as with any type of personality test, be it the Myers-Briggs or the Holland Code..you are not going to fit all the qualifications. And even if you do fit some of them, in my case, there could be other people who also fit, whom you are as different from as night and day.

The purpose is of coarse to apply this in your own life , professionally, personally ETC. It was fun. And different. But it will make no lasting impact on my life I am sorry to say. I guess I am just not a major believer in the color code. But it is a fun read, particularly if your tired of consistently dark mysteries, Historical fiction etc and want to try something different. By the way, I'm a Blue.

It is extremely rare for me to read a non-fiction book and even rarer to read something in the ‘self-improvement’ category, but this was recommended to me by my cousin when I was having some relationship issues I just didn’t know how solve. Although this book doesn’t give you the ABC’s of conflict resolution or clear cut measures to make, it does attempt to help you understand both yourself and others around you and how they tick. If you’re willing to use that, I think it can be a great tool. Finding my own colour and being able to recognize both my gifts and stresses in a better light definitely has me thinking differently. Being able to also pick out the colours of those around me, helped me to find a better approach to conflicts with them. It is still a working progress, but this book was a huge help in not only making me think about personalities and how they relate to jobs, relationships, personal issues/growth among other things, but also opened a dialogue in my mind on how to approach my own self as well as my approach to others. At the very least it is great to get the wheels turning and helping you to see yourself and others in a brand new light.

I bought this book at one of George Boelcke's courses, and it was definitely worth the purchase. I found out through the course that I am Gold/Green, and knowing that has helped me to understand several different parts of my personality that I didn't before. Some small examples would be that my family will wonder why I don't get excited over things, or why my face will remain expressionless even when I am excited, and why I've always loved learning and figuring out problems, which are Green traits. I've also always had a focus on organization and control, which are Gold traits. It helps me to get along better with my sister, who just happens to be Orange/Blue. Learning about colours has enabled me to have more grace for my sister if she does things that irritate me, because now I realize that she's probably not doing things just to annoy me, but because it's part of her personality!
If you want to learn about why the people around you seem to think so differently than you, and how knowing that will help to strengthen your relationships, you should definitely get this book and take the test.

I liked this book. It's pretty much the same concept as Taylor Hartman's book, but it isn't as widely read. I really liked his color "GOLD". I think that so many people take Taylor Hartman's test and they describe themselves as "RED" but they aren't necessarily motivated by power...but more by duty and responsibility. Another difference is Boelcke's "GREEN" personality; a logical rational thinker type. If you are into color testing this would be a great book to read in addition to Taylor Hartman's book.

This book has been fantastic at helping me understand my personality better. It's nice to know why I do the things I do. Also, it has been great at helping me have better relationships with those I work and play with. There is a whole section that talks about relationships with your spouse and it described Rob and I perfectly. I'm a Gold/Green. You'll have to read the book to find out what that means!

I've met George and did his seminar 3 times, always for work.
It helped me work well with others in the office and helped me in my personal relationships.
I always catch myself guessing what color people are and I'm thrilled when I'm right.
I highly recommend this book and the seminar.

Fascinating!! If you live with, work with, related to or otherwise connected to people, you have to find out what color they are. I think the gold chapter was written specifically about me!
