There is a lot of information, but it's aimed much more at someone who wants to breed the animals than an owner who wants to find out the best way to take care of one fish. The Barron's subtitle on the front, "A Complete Pet Owner's Manual," or the statement on the back cover that there are step-by-step instructions for every day care, are really misleading. It's an interesting but not helpful book.

More about the differences between breeds and the genetics behind them. Extremely advanced for someone who just got a fish from the grocery store

I was reading more to find out how to take care of my one betta. The book focused a lot on how to breed them. Since this wasn't really want I was looking for, I did skim a few of the none relatable items. I found the history of the betta to be very interesting.

Way to scientific for a regular person to understand. The book focuses mostly on the history/classification/breeding of betta fish. If your looking for information on caring for your new betta, this is definitely not the book to go to.

I liked this book, it gave some great information. I think the title was a little misleading, I was looking for a book that explained how to care for one Betta.
