Worldbuilding:
Mairin (Irin or Mai) has been a foster in a pack that abused and tormented her for years. As we start the series, it's finally time to meet her Goddess chosen mate and be free of all that. Unfortunately, her mate ends up being her main tormentor, the alpha himself. Thrown away to die in the sea, Mai survives and finds herself on the doorstep of another pack with 4 alphas (Valentine, Silas, Ragnar, and Henderson) she starts feeling attracted to and who seem to be hiding their own secrets.
All the scenes and environments were well described and detailed enough to sit back and relax while reading :) There is no information dump as we learn the lay of the land alongside Mai.
Character development:
Unfortunately for me, I didn't really like Mai that much :( Especially in the last installment, she felt a bit too overpowered.
The guys, on the other hand, I liked a lot :D From broody Silas to peacekeeping Henderson.
You can clearly see the evolution they all go through in these books. Not only do they grow closer to each other, but they grow as individuals as well, heedless of the divine soul they're carrying.
The characters all feel alive and real, wolves, humans, and angels alike. They feel fleshed out enough; even the side characters are interesting and fun.
Sometimes, things get a little messy with the details between the different installments, but I moved on without caring all too much.
Pacing and flow:
Throughout the series, the pacing and flow were good. We've got enough of a switch between conversations and action to keep the story moving forward at a good pace.
The book:
The book was well-written (with no noticeable) errors. There are some spicy scenes (if that is important to you).
The book has 893 pages, spread over 90 chapters, and is told from multiple points of view.
Final thoughts:
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and fell in love with Silas, Valentine, Ragnar, and Henderson.
I enjoyed reading about their trials and tribulations, how they lost, and how they found each other again.
Please note, though, that the conclusion of their story "Her Night Wolf" is not included in this omnibus but is the first in the following omnibus: "Hades's Wolves".
