An impossible victim, a more than impossible killer!
FBI Special Agent Ilona Farris has barely recovered from her first escapade with the newly formed Unsolvable Crimes Unit when a bizarre case lands on her desk.
A man has been chained to a sack of stones and pushed into the water at Seattle Marina. However, the victim supposedly died in a plane crash over twenty years ago.
Witnesses report seeing a man in a straw hat and long coat at the scene. There one moment, then disappearing without a trace.
Rumours begin that the figure is the legendary South American spirit of El Silbón, the Whistler, whose victims have an eerie tune played to them before meeting their demise.
Fearing this will not be the ghostly apparition’s last crime, Agent Farris resolves to discover the truth about Ven Air Flight 387 and catch a killer with nothing other than revenge on their mind.
But the Whistler is not the only ghost stalking in the shadows, and Farris will need all her wits to come out on top.

Iain Henn has been writing stories for as long as he can remember, urged on as a youngster, he suspects, by his imaginary friend, Red. Iain has continued to create fiction even though that mischievous imp is no longer around - or is he?
Iain's breakthrough came with his first published story, in Woman's Day, Australia. Many stories followed, published by magazines in Australia, New Zealand, the US, the UK, and in the Scandinavian countries.
He worked for many years as a print production controller with media companies, and as a freelance content writer for websites. Mystery and suspense fiction, however, has always been his passion.
His stories explore the ripple effect that dramatic events have on ordinary people from all walks of life. His novels are published by UK crime fiction publisher, The Book Folks.
Iain lives on the coast in New South Wales, where he is researching and writing his next thriller.
Iain Henn has put together the perfect blend of excitement, darkness, athletic prowess, intelligence and molded a heroine that captures your attention and imagination. Her co-workers lend her the perfect accompaniment of companionship and intrigue to make each book a stand alone read or a series of exciting stories to Jack up you interest to excruciating levels of satisfaction.
Another Iain Henn masterpiece. The first book in this series, The Piper’s Children, sucked me into the strange cases investigated by the FBI’s Unsolvable Crimes Unit and The Whistler’s Omen kept me there, intrigued by the twists and turns of a (perceivably) unsolvable case which, in turn, meant I couldn’t put the book down. As with the first book, I loved the historical references. Excellent stuff. Now – it’s onto number 3: The Storm Killings . . .
I rated this novel four stars for its unusual premise and the way the author portrayed the characters in their pursuit of justice. Overall, a good story.
