Kennedy Dawes knew her perfect partner was out there…but she was beginning to wonder if he was playing hide and seek in camouflage in the woods because she sure as hell couldn’t find him.

After years of being signed up to every matchmaking site known to man, speed dating, getting set up by well-meaning (if somewhat delusional) friends and family, and even applying for the reality TV show Fairytale Love to find her prince charming, she was starting to lose hope. On the advice of her therapist, she’d written down—in excruciating detail—everything she was looking for in an attempt to manifest her Mr. Right.

There was just one problem—she couldn’t get Mr. Wrong out of her mind.

Sebastian Savage had one true love…tattooing. Unfortunately, he’d lost that love six months ago and wasn’t sure he’d ever get it back.

After waking up in the hospital after a car crash he couldn’t remember, Seb was told by doctors he had a long road to recovery in front of him, which included surgery and physical therapy. Even then, there was a chance his nerve damage would be permanent. That was a life sentence for Seb. Being a tattoo artist wasn’t just a job, a career, or even a passion; it was his life . The only thing that had ever mattered to him was putting ink to skin. He needed it more than oxygen. Or at least he had until his heart started beating again when he looked into blue eyes that were a beacon in the storm of his life.

There was just one He wasn’t the man she deserved, and he’d be damned if he let her settle.

Author’s Crashing Into You is a love-at-first-sight, opposites attract, don’t-want-to-want-you, best friend’s brother-in-law, small-town, steamy romance. This journey to happily-ever-after is the tale of a damaged tattooed MC, a type-A hopeless romantic FMC, a gassy rescue dog, a trio of senior citizen cupids, and a crotch-dampening meet-cute. There is off-the-charts chemistry, I Love Lucy-esque slapstick comedy, sugary-sweet swooniness, sweat-inducing steaminess, and, of course, a heartwarming HEA.

Author's Note: Crashing Into You is a love-at-first-sight, opposites attract, don't-want-to-want-you, best friend's brother-in-law, small-town, steamy romance. That about completely sums this story up. I guess the morale of this story is that you can be all wrong for each other on paper but incredible sexual chemistry can heal all wounds and make all the pieces that shouldn’t fit together, fit just right.
The story opens with our female protagonist Kennedy Dawes at her regular therapy session with Anne her expensive therapist. Kennedy was an important secondary character in the previous Savage Brother’s book as that book’s female protagonist Laura’s BFF. Now as far as I’m able to tell Kennedy has been wasting a lot of money for years on therapy with Anne because Anne hasn’t helped 35-year-old Kennedy deal with her daddy issues or her compulsion to be attracted to emotionally and physical damaged men. Nor has she helped her with her perfectionist tendencies. As a guy I’m at a loss to understand why Kennedy who is described as beautiful, sexy, smart, funny, caring and loving and just wants the dream of a house with a white picket fence, a husband and two point five kids, is still single? I mean I get why she hasn’t clicked with every guy she’s ever dated but I don’t understand why any man lucky enough to be one she’s clicked with enough to begin a relationship with would ever walk away from her? But that’s her story. She falls for guys who are emotionally or physically damaged and when they finally get their shit together they leave. Just like her father always left her and her late mother. As Kennedy has witnessed her friends and acquaintances all find their happily ever after with the man of their dreams Kennedy is becoming more and more desperate to find hers and losing hope that it will ever happen. Apparently even the Needle Point Mafia hasn’t been able to matchmake Kennedy with her forever love.
Our male protagonist Sebastian Savage the youngest of the three Savage brothers is about as emotionally and physically damaged as they come. IMHO that damage goes far deeper than his current physical injuries from the accident that caused nerve damage that may never heal enough to allow him to go back to his career and all-consuming passion, tattooing. Sebastian has been a tattoo artist since he was a lost fifteen-year-old with dyslexia among other issues like anxiety and childhood asthma. At 36 years old he is a major celebrity in body ink circles for his unmatched artistry as a tattoo artist. My problem with Seb is tattooing literally is his entire life. He talks about working 16 your days 7 days a week and loving it. If he has his tattoo gun in his hand he doesn’t miss not having a permanent place to call home, spending time with his family or having a real relationship with a woman. Honestly the guy works so much I don’t know where he even found time for his casual hook-ups and flings? When a car accident threatens to take away the one thing in Seb’s life that really matters to him, he’s totally lost and borderline clinically depressed. So yeah, I really think Seb should have gotten himself a more balanced life long before he temporarily relocates to the little tourist town of Whisper Lake a couple of hours from Chicago where his older brothers and cousin have settled down. When Kennedy Dawes accidentally crashes into Seb shortly after he arrives in Whisper Lake the meeting threatens to both heal his emotional wounds and turn his life upside down.
Seb rightly tells Kennedy and other single Whisper Lake women attracted to the man who is apparently sex on a stick if you like them tall, dark, handsome and covered in body ink that he’s not in the right headspace to get involved in a relationship. If he can no longer tattoo he doesn’t know who he is or what the rest of his life will look like. And Kennedy with the help of her therapist realizes the last thing she needs is another relationship with a damaged man who will eventually leave her. But their sexual chemistry is so strong that Seb can’t stay away from her and Kennedy can’t resist him when he’s near. Kennedy knows its foolish and dangerous to her heart, but she can’t help falling a little bit in love with the sexy, damaged Zeb who makes her body feel things no other lover ever has. Honestly I thought Seb was a bit of a jerk here because even though he tries to resist Kennedy, believing he is wrong for her, and is honest with her he also keeps hooking up with Kennedy, giving her reason to hope for more and then ghosting her until the next time her pull is too much for him to resist. While this is going on Kennedy because of her attraction to Seb is turning down dates with men who check almost all the 100 boxes of her things she wants in a man except one. That one being tear your clothes off sexual chemistry which she and Seb have in spades. Kennedy thanks to her BFF Laura pushing her is also in the process of auditioning for a spot on a reality dating show filmed in Whisper Lake which after meeting Seb she really has no interest in appearing on. But since Seb has made it clear he’s not in it for the long haul she continues to pursue a slot on the show. These two and their failure to share their feelings really put themselves through the ringer before they finally get their happily ever after.
Okay as per usual I truly enjoyed this book by Melanie Shawn. But I did think she got a little too repetitive with Seb repeating his family dynamics with his mother, brothers and cousin multiple times. I also thought as sweet as the ending was it just lacked a little. Hopefully we’ll see more of Seb and Kennedy and them sharing their big news in the next book Because of You due out later this month.

Kennedy and Seb were PERFECT! The 100 item list was YIKES, but it actually pretty spot on. Seb was carrying a heavy burden after his accident, but Kennedy ended up being the remedy he needed. Their story was awesome, and I couldn’t put it down.

Love Seb and Kennedy but not my favorite book

This one was hard to review. There were lots of things I liked about the book, but I didn’t love it. First, the “likes” - I loved Seb and Kennedy. They had chemistry and I enjoyed the lead into their story. I also liked how we got to see the overall story of the other Savages move forward as Seb’s was told.
Unfortunately, there were elements of the story that hindered my enjoyment. The biggest issue for me was the amount of internal dialogue. A large portion of the story was told this way and was often repetitive. Seb has a close family and Kennedy has many people in her life that she could have talked to that would have made the story more compelling to me. The previously mentioned repetitiveness was my second issue. Lastly, I feel like the issues keeping them apart went on for longer than they should have based on the personalities of the characters. I feel like realistically they would have communicated better and resolved their misconceptions earlier. As a result, I feel like the ending was a bit clipped. I know we’ ll probably see them again and get more of their story in Keaton’s book, but I was expecting a little more at the end. I agree with other reviews that suggest an epilogue would have helped.
Overall, I am glad I read this book. I really do love Seb and Kennedy. However, their book did fall short of the two previous books in the series for me. I look forward to Keaton’s book.

Kennedy was a realtor in Whisper Lake who did most everything with her bestie Laura. Laura was the only one of her friends that knew why she was estranged from her father. Plus her grandmother lived there and was in a nursing home. I loved how she ran into Sebastian (Seb) at the nursing home. It was crazy how the two couldn’t take their eyes off each other. Kennedy told Laura about the hot guy she ran into, but didn’t get his name. Laura was engaged to Knox, and the funny thing that came out of that was Seb was his younger brother. Kennedy didn’t have a good childhood and had trust issues. Plus she always seemed to fall for guys who were not good for her. Seb had been in a bad car accident which hurt his back and nerves where he could no longer tattoo. Tattooing had been his whole life and didn’t know what he would do if the PT he was taking didn’t work. I enjoyed reading the tug and pull the two kept up with each other. There were also misconceptions that the two had about each other. I loved Seb’s mother when she came to town. I encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

Crashing Into You is the third installment of the Whisper Lake: A Savage Brothers series by Melanie Shawn. I just have to say the title of this novel is perfect, and they way the authors incorporated it into the novel itself was top knotch!

Kennedy has been waiting for her turn. Everyone else close to her (heck and even those not all that close to her) have found their person. Why is she in her mid-thirities and nowhere on that front? Despite her best efforts. The final effort at this point is auditioning for the new reality TV show coming to town.

Sebastian "Seb" Savage decided to come visit family during his rehab period from his accident six months ago. One his first day heading to rehab in Whisper Lake, he is literally run into by the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.

Seb and Kennedy have the chemistry that you can't find with many. Probably the hardest quality in a partner considering folks say it can grow, but can it? That type of chemistry has to be there from day one! So, the question now is, can Kennedy and Seb get past their own issues and see what they've found in each other?

I love the Savage brothers and cannot wait for Keaton's story next!

Another Savage Brother Finds Love

This is Sebastian’s book. He is the youngest Savage brother and a tattoo artist. He is recovering from a car accident and he comes home for additional therapy and a change in scenery. He meets Kennedy and there are instant sparks between them. Kennedy is the best friend to his brother’s fiancé so they continue to run into each other. They are drawn together but Seb feels that he has too many issues. Kennedy has a list of qualifications for her ideal man and Seb doesn’t feel like he meets them. Despite their concerns, they hookup and confirm their chemistry. Can this strong connection lead to something permanent? Are they willing to take a chance on love? Yes they are!! They finally figure it out and it’s beautiful. Can’t wait for the next book!

So excited for the continuation of this series! After getting to know a little of Kennedy in the previous book, I was so excited for her to get her own book and her HEA. After doing just about everything possible to find true love, Kennedy decides to take a chance on love through reality TV as a last-ditch effort. While she’s in the beginning stages of this, she meets Sebastian, her best friend’s fiancé’s brother, and while sparks fly between them and the attraction is there, Sebastian isn’t interested in anything aside from a fling, as he is dealing with the potential loss of his career after a car accident. When they give into the feelings and chemistry that they have, I loved getting to see their relationship blossom and show how perfect they are for each other, however, neither of them speaks up and it has the potential to ruin what they’ve built. Thankfully, fate intervenes and they get the HEA they both deserve, and we also see Sebastian get his confidence back regarding his career.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I have been WAITING for Seb's book from our very first introductions to him in previous books, and I have to say that Melanie Shawn did NOT disappoint with this one! Crashing into You was a 5 star read in every way!

Seb and Kennedy are perfectly imperfect for one another. But of course, they can't/don't want to see all of the signs right in front of them from their very first run in. When these two first ran into one another, the scene had me chuckling out loud. Pure perfection.

This book and journey to their HEA was so well done. Each character has their own hurdles they need to get over, and sometimes, it's easier to do it with a little help. Add in some meddling friends and family, and life bringing them together, and you've got the perfect recipe for an amazing romance book. LOVED this one and cannot wait for Keaton!

Kennedy had tried everything to find her happily ever after like so many others in Whisper Lake have. Even the infamous Needlepoint Maria failed her so she was auditioning for a dating show based in Whisper Lake. Seb arrives in town to be with family and rehab following an accident. Kennedy and Seb have incredibly strong chemistry from their first meeting and with Kennedy best friend having a baby with Seb’s brother the two of them are often together.
I loved this story and both of these characters. Despite all the obstacles- Seb & Kennedy find their way to each other! Whisper Lake is an amazing place. Looking forward to the next story set here.

Sebastian and Kennedy's book was so worth the wait. From the very first chapter I was drawn into their story. From the moment they meant there was an instant connection between these two. These two fight so hard against what they feel. Unfortunately for them they are thrown together at every turn. What happens when they give in to it? Let's just say it is HOT! Their story just gets better. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Kennedy is looking for mister right. She has a list of 100 things she is looking for in a man. She has tried everything to find her prince. Even agreeing to go on a reality show. She crashes into Seb and has the instant tingles and thinks he might be the one. Well Seb doesn’t want to be in a relationship and just wants to recover from his accident. He needs to get his life figured out in case he can’t do tattooing again. But when him and Kennedy are “thrown” together a few times can a spark ignite?

Seb and Kennedy have great chemistry and the pull they feel for each other was great! They both are working so hard not to give into their chemistry and feelings for each other but we all know it's inevitable.

I loved that Seb was connected to Kennedy because his brother was engaged to Kennedy's best friend. They couldn't stop being thrown together and eventually could no longer deny their feelings for each other.

I devoured this book and couldn't put it down!

I've been waiting for this book since the last book because it was clear that Kennedy and Sebastian would find their way to each other and Melanie Shawn did not disappoint! The two of them have a lot to overcome in their own personal lives as they journeyed to happily ever after. Their lack of communication at points was definitely frustrating but I really enjoyed their journey.

I loved this. Kennedy and Seb are great together. I loved how their connection was instant, and then how they kept bumping into each other.

Fate and circumstances kept throwing them together and I really enjoyed their chemistry. Another great addition to this series. I can’t wait for the last Savage brother to get his happy ending.

Kennedy and Seb's story is everything you expect from a Melanie Shawn book! It has all the small town goodness that we look forward to and love. Their chemistry and attraction is off the charts from the very beginning, and their connection can't be denied. This story is filled with plenty of sweet and steamy times that balance each other perfectly.

Another great book from Melanie Shawn. I loved going back to Whisper Lake and the small town, nosy neighbor feel. Seb and Kennedy’s story was so good. I loved that it included Laura and Knox’s continued story and I can’t wait for Keaton’s.
If you love a good HEA ending, with lots of chemistry and a pregnancy at the end… then this book is for you! Read it, you will be glad you did.

Kennedy and Seb’s story in Crashing Into You by Melanie Shawn, book three in the Whisper Lake: Savage Brothers series will knock you over, grab you from page one and not let go. Sebastian Savage, a famous tattoo artist, was living in LA when an accident changed his life. After months of physical therapy with the best in LA and no progress, he decides to relocate to Whisper Lake where his brothers have returned and where he plans to regroup. Real estate Kennedy Dawes has been looking for love and “the right man”, to no avail. Her list for the perfect man has 100 items. She has tried everything and her latest venture is trying out for a reality show to find the love of her life. Neither Kennedy nor Seb expected that accidentally bumping into each other would change their lives. While Seb feels he is not good enough for her and definitely unable to meet some of the requirements in her list, Kennedy feels that Seb just wants her physically. It’s going to take time and the realization before these two recognize that their chemistry and connection is greater than any list; and take a chance on love.

Melanie Shawn wrote a story about family, about overcoming obstacles and coming out stronger in the end. A roller coaster ride together toward a HEA that includes: supportive and meddling friends and family, three geriatric mafiosa matchmakers, a beloved grandmother, an absentee father, and much, much more. Once again, Whisper Lake seems to have the magical water where everyone ends up happily ever after. I highly recommend Crashing Into You to other readers and look forward to the next story in this series.

Crashing Into You is the third book in the Whisper Lake: Savage Brothers series and I think this one might be my favorite one yet!

Kennedy Dawes and Sebastian Savage have quite the meet cute when they first interact at Well Brook, where Kennedy has been visiting her Nana and Seb has come for PT. While the two don’t exchange names on that occasion, the chemistry between them is very apparent.

Kennedy, who is in real estate, and Seb, who is an amazing tattoo artist, end up being brought together many more times given Kennedy’s best friend is also Seb’s brother-in-law. Kennedy could potentially be cast to go on the dating show Fairytale Love, and when she is asked about her list of qualities she wants in a man (she’s got a list of 100!), Seb is with her and given what he hears, doesn’t think he could ever be what she deserves regardless of how much he wants to be. Can these two find a way to make a go of it, or will they stand in their own way?

There were so many things to love about this book! I loved having the families involved, the chemistry between Kennedy and Seb was off the charts, but I think my favorite thing may be the reason for the title of the book. I don’t want to say more because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but that to me was both touching and it showed how much the two of them were connected and I loved that! This was so, so good! Looking forward to Keaton’s book!

We are back in Whisper Lake where the youngest of the Savage brothers finds the woman that will change his life.

Can these two realize that their chemistry and connection is greater than any list? Will they take a chance on love or will fears have them missing that chance?
The plot was engaging from the first page on and the main characters wonderful. Those that have read the previous stories, something this reader highly recommends, you’ll get a chance to “visit” with those of characters as well.
Another winner in this much loved series. Looking forward to Keaton’s story.

Seb and Kennedy have a funny meet cute moment when they bump into each other at Well Brook, where Kennedy is visiting her Nana and Seb has gone for PT. Their connection is instant from the minute they meet. But Kennedy leaves before they could even know each others names. Luckily Seb is Kennedy’s best friends brother in law, so they have a lot of meetings where they literally bump into each other (found this very cute).
Kennedy is going on a dating show Fairytale Love. When Seb heard the list of qualities she is looking for in a man, that she was telling the producer of the show, he of course thought he is not good enough for her. But when you have tear your clothes off chemistry, keeping your distance is impossible.
This was an awesome read. I loved the connection between Seb and Kennedy. Their meetings were super cute, their push and pull entertaining, and their chemistry super hot. So far each of the savage brother books has been highly entertaining and swoon worthy, can’t wait to read what’s in store for Keaton.

I’ve been waiting for this book since we saw some sparks between Kennedy and Sebastian (Seb) in the previous book. I really love her and Laura’s relationship and how they are each other’s friend-soulmates. A lot in this book – her father (what is really up with him), a reality show re-boot, a secret that only Kennedy and Seb know and the major chemistry between these two and where that might go. I’ve been enjoying the Savage’s and each one finding their one but these two might be great on paper and with their chemistry but for the long run, I’m not sure. The story is great and when they are doing the re-boot that was a spin I didn’t see coming. It was great seeing Seb come back from his accident and see Kennedy come into her own as well. A lot of news in this story not only for Kennedy and Seb but for Laura and Knox as well and I loved Kennedy and Seb’s news at the end. I’ll be curious to see if we see a continuation of the re-boot in the next book or if that might spin off into something else as well. Great book!

Kennedy and Sebastian

Sebastian is at Willow Brook to see his newest PT doctor after coming to Whisper Lake from LA. As he rounds the corner, he is run into by the most beautiful woman he has laid eyes on. When they both realize that she has split her water all over his crotch. When she grabs a clean cloth off a cleaning cart and proceeds to dry him off while apologizing profusely, he has to make her stop, and when she realizes why, they both burst out laughing. Then, before he can get her name or give her his, she gets a funny look on her face and leaves. What or who did she see? When the man walks up and asks him what he is doing with his daughter, he knows that she's not happy to see her father. Why? Will Seb and Kennedy meet again? What is it seeing her father that disturbed her so much? How will Laura, Kennedy's best friend, and Knox, Sebastian's brother fit into their meeting? Only one way to find out is to read this great story by Melanie Shawn.

I didn't get the usual feel from this one. Tattoo artist Sebastian Savage and small town real estate agent Kennedy Dawes are the focus in this Savage brothers novel. I understand where it's supposed to go, but I found it hard to connect with the story and the characters. It has moments, but they are short and far between. It was weird, because it felt like somebody trying to write how a Melanie Shawn romance feels like, but it fell flat. It felt uninspired and automatic, unfortunately. The bones were there, but there were no feelings, no chemistry, long passages that felt disconnected. I've loved and read Melanie Shawn for many years, and the Shawna Renae novels (also recent releases) are great, so I don't know what happened here.

Timing is everything and just as Kennedy Dawes feels like she has tried everything – including a list of 100 traits she is looking for in a romantic partner and agreeing to apply for a reality TV show to find a mate – she bumps into Sebastian Savage – literally! Seb is back in Whisper Lake to recover from a car accident that caused severe nerve damage which has put his career (and love of) tattooing on hold. He is in a really bad place mentally and even though he is drawn to Kennedy he doesn’t feel as if he deserves her. He doesn’t believe he hits key traits on her infamous “list”. But Seb can’t stay away from Kennedy, and Kennedy is convinced he could be the one. I loved Kennedy and Seb and their journey to each other. Whisper Lake doesn’t disappoint!
