Maggie and Peter Reed only think they have stumbled upon their dream home. Instead, they have bought their way into a haunted house nightmare. The story follows a split timeline, as readers are taken on a rollercoaster of emotions and scares across the past and the present. I felt the ghost story itself to be well done and appropriately spooky. The characters were engaging and definitely evoked a lot of strong emotions. Without spoilers, there's a good mix of characters to love as well as love to hate. This is more a novella length story as it was originally published for Kindle Vella, so it was a very quick and overall enjoyable read.

/I was given this book to review for free by S.K. Arnette./

Maggie and Peter move into a home, only to soon after discover that this home is haunted! We follow a split time line between Maggie, Peter and their lovable dog River, and Annie, Kitty, and Teddy Koonz. A family who lived in this home in the 1970’s. The idea for this book was a fantastic one, I loved the story and it was so intriguing but I really found my issues in the writing. There was not proper time put into editing this novel, with many MANY spelling errors, plot holes in the story, names of characters being confused and more, it felt like a little bit of a mess. That being said! The book was a good novella. The concept and ending were satisfactory, the characters are well described and i grew an emotional attachment to poor Annie and felt raw hatred for Teddy.

This book was great! I love ghost stories !! It had me sucked in and couldn’t stop reading it. My emotions on a roller coaster. Happy , sad, mad, my heart went out to the characters. I couldn’t believe what was happening ! I was able to picture myself in the book going along with all of them. It was a very nice ending to the story as well. It’s a must read!!
