I’m not giving this a rating since I DNF’ed. I snagged it as a freebie today and figured it would be a great, short read. It was going great. A cute insta-everything story, spicy, and then something was referred to as “yummy” during spicy stuff and I just… ick. It was referred to as yummy in the older MMCs POV too, and it just… didn’t fit or seem right for the character or the novella? And it gave me the ick and the spice just kinda didn’t click for me and I had to stop.

So it started out good and then sadly it just went downhill for me. I enjoyed the idea and concept but then everything become just too cliché.

Also the spicy scenes just felt awkward and cringeworthy.

Nineteen year old Farrah as had a rough upbringing after losing her parents then having to go live with her grandmother who eventually dies, with no one left and nothing to lose she dropped out at school at sixteen years old and move to another state. She was broke with no money when she meets a wonderful human being Logan who had a nice place and let her be his roommate. Logan is the son of a politician name Daniel. He's gay but doesn't know how to tell his father, plus he has to be careful not to be seen with a man because that could jeopardize his dad's chance of being a governor. Logan asks Farrah to be his fake girlfriend for the sake of his dad's campaign. From the first moment Daniel lay eyes on Farrah when she accompanied his son at a gala it was lust at first sight, but he knew that she was off-limits because of her age and his son.
Logan told Farrah that he had to move in with his boyfriend Chad unless he was going to breakup with him. Farrah wasn't happy about his decision and remembered their last talked about his boyfriend, but after he told her how he really felt about Chad she gave him her blessings. Logan knew that she didn't have anywhere to go because of financial reasons. He told her that she could go and stay at his dad's house because he was away on campaign business and would not be back for a couple of weeks. She didn't want to go but didn't have any choice. She went to house with her things and decided to take a little tour of the mansion, during her tour she found out that Daniel had a secret sex room which she explored and got really aroused. However, she didn't have much time to herself at the house because Daniel decided to cut his trip short and went home.
As soon as he stepped in his house he knew immediately that something was off in his house. Upon seeing his son keys on the counter he decided to go up to his room and have a chat with him because they've not catch up in a long time because of their schedules. But he was in for a delicious surprise when Farrah came into the room from the shower nake dripping wet and holding a towel in her hands. He was shocked and all he could do was stare at woman who's constantly on his mind. From there the two decided to act on their attraction after he told her that he knew that she wasn't his son's girlfriend because he was gay. Their chemistry was explosive, raw and sizzling. At first it was only supposed to be a fling with no strings attached but the more time that they spent together they started to catch feelings for each other and Daniel wanted to keep her. She brought out feelings in him that he thought was long dead and gone since his wife. They was trying to be secretive because of his career and his son. They didn't know that Logan had set the whole thing in motion to set them up, because he saw how they looked at each other whenever they were in close proximity. Farrah challenge Daniel to step out of his comfort zone and reach for the things that he wanted instead of what his dad had pushed on him all his life. They would later get married with twin boys and get their HEA, even her best friend came out and was happy in his relationship.

Farrah has not had an ideal life losing both her parents when she was young and then living with her grandmother until; she was sixteen only to lose her as well, feeling that she had nothing left to lose and no one to care about her she dropped out of school and moved to another state. Things only started to look up when she met Logan and he took her under his wing, gave her somewhere to live. So, when Logan needed her to pose as his fake girlfriend until he finds a way to finally tell his father who is running for office that he is gay. So, when things progress with his boyfriend Chad, Farrah needs a place to stay and fast. With his father being away and Farrah needing somewhere to live Logan convinces her to stay there not realizing that Farrah fell hook line and sinker in love with Daniel the first time that she laid eyes on him and has been fighting her true feelings for him. So, what will happen when he returns home earlier than expected to find her in his house, is this her chance to finally give in to love or will her heart end up shattered?

Daniel has known for a long time that his son was gay but has given him the space to tell him himself, so when he introduces him to his girlfriend, he knew that this was all for show which considering how he reacted to Farrah was a good thing. No woman had affected him quite like Farrah, not since he had lost his wife. He had thought that his chance at love was gone but with Farrah being so young and also his son’s girlfriend nothing could ever happen between them. That is until he returns to find her living in his house and the way that her body reacts to him, he knows that there is no way that he can ignore the chemistry. He promised himself that this could only ever be sex, nothing more especially with his son being involved. But what happens when that isn’t enough, will he be able to let her walk away, or will he realize his mistake before it is too late?

This was a fabulous read with a forbidden love and some heat. I am a massive fan of this author but there were times that this one really did not grab me. 4* Read

Intent to Keep by Kate J. Blake is a short age-gap romance. This is Daniel and Farrah's story. Daniel's son Logan is Farrah's fake boyfriend and best friend and they have been sharing an apartment for about a year. Logan attends UCLA and Farrah is taking acting classes. Farrah has been pretending to be Logan's girlfriend, so Logan's father won't find out about his real partner. Logan has been hiding it from everyone. Logan tells Farrah that he is moving in with his secret partner, because he is tired of keeping the secret. He knows Farrah can't afford to stay in the apartment, so his idea is for her to move into his father Daniel's house while he is away on a trip. Daniel is to be gone for maybe three weeks.
Farrah arrives at Daniel's address and discovers his house is a mansion. Big Surprise. She takes the room Logan had when he was at home. Little does she know that Daniel will come home early from his trip. Daniel is thinking Logan is in the shower and sits down to wait for him. Guess who walks into the bedroom ? Ohhhhhh My Gosh ! Their eyes meet. SUPRISE ! This story has secrets, steamy scenes, romance, light bdsm, age-gap. I really enjoyed this book. Kate is a talented writer.

Intent to keep is a short and super-steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, forbidden, curvy girl gets her older man romance. Farrah is a 19 year old struggling, aspiring actress. Daniel is a hunky, 39 year old, wealthy politician and father of her best friend and ex-boyfriend, Logan. When Logan tells her he is moving in with his boyfriend, he tells Farrah she can stay at his father's place until she finds a roommate. She expects him to be gone for a few weeks. As she explores his mansion, she finds his BDSM play room. Daniel and Farrah have both been attracted to each other for some time. When he comes home early and finds her in his house, things get uber steamy. The two enter into a temporary, secret, sex only relationship, but what happens when real feelings are involved? This book had it all. There is some light BDSM and a lot of hot sex, but you also see the characters falling in love and being their true selves. Their chemistry was pure fire, and we got an amazing HEA. This was my first book by Kate, but it was definitely not the last. I loved it!!! It was described as Pretty Woman meets Fifty Shades and would say that description is pretty accurate. I loved it!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.

Sometimes fate put two people together that leads to something so much more that is the case with two best friends and a father 😊 (don’t make sense …it will) Daniel sexy as all get out father of ex. fake boyfriend/best friend, a politician and has no idea what his sone is up to but he is about to find out. Farrah is a sweetheart, a great friend an aspiring actor and struggling to make ends meet on her own without her best friend Logan who attends UCLA and wants to move out of their apartment with his partner but leaving her isn’t an options because she can’t afford it on her own so they come up with a solution since his father is out of town she should move in to his family home but not all things go as planned especially when fate has other plans. Daniel comes home early from his trip. Daniel is thinking Logan is in the shower and sits down to wait for him but what a surprise when she walks out he knows instantly she is his but he wants to keep her a secret, will she agree to being a secret, he knew she wasn’t his sons girlfriend because has always known he son was gay, where are they headed, and will it end with a HEA?

Her friend tells her she can stay in his father’s house while he is away campaigning. Farrah moves in and starts exploring and finds a secret BDMS room. Later Daniel returns home unexpectedly and catch Farrah coming out of the shower naked. Daniel confronts Farrah about pretending to date his son since he knew he was gay. Suddenly these two are overwhelmed with feelings and agree to become intimate but Daniel warns her it can’t go any further. Will Farrah really be satisfied with this kind of relationship? How will the voters react to Daniel being involved with a much younger woman?

I loved Intent to Keep. It wasn’t meant to mean anything. They were going to scratch an itch, they can’t really be together. Farrah was staying at Daniels house, he wasn’t supposed to be there. They have always seemed to have a chemistry but now they can’t act on it, just not for long term. Unfortunately, Farrah fell in love but when Daniel makes it clear he has no love interest she knows it’s time to leave. Daniel knew his mistake before he made it but now he will do anything to get her back. Will she forgive him? I loved this storyline and the characters. I loved how the son knew more than they did. I would definitely recommend this book.

Intent to Keep is a juicy, chemistry filled taboo delight!

Politician Daniel, has a son, Logan, who has a live in bf, Farrah. When Logan decides to move his boyfriend in Farrah goes to live at Daniel's empty home. But it's not empty! Daniel returns early to find he has a new lodger - a lodger he swiftly seduces.

This novella is sensual, sensitive, searingly hot and soooo unputdownable! All the taboos are tastefully and expertly written - the forbidden made acceptable - and the HAE is perfect!. Would give 4.5 stars if I could.

Expect plenty of tension, humour, friendship, sizzling chemistry, combustible scenes and more throughout. Logan decides to put her up in one of his father's homes until she figures things out, but they weren't expecting him to come home early. Daniel is shocked to find Farrah in his home and when he finds out why everything changes. This steamy romance will keep you glued to the pages and cheering on the characters to finding happiness.

Intent to Keep is a Pretty Woman meets 50 Shades of Gray story about a woman who moves into her (fake) ex-boyfriend's dad's house.

The premise was a modern take on a classic film. The age gap was large enough to make it spicy - but not so big that it felt weird. I did not find the book that spicy. I would have loved more depth and passion when describing intimate moments. Some of the language was sterile, and because of its overuse in the genre, it lacked the intended fire.

The chemistry and spice are hot in this short steamy novella. Daniel is an alpha male. Farrah is a shy young woman half his age.

This is a well written eat to read story, which is a quick read, with romance, forced proximity, drama, emotions, secrets, an age gap, and love, which leads to a steamy page turner.

This is a insta-everything novella
Farrah goes to live in her ex-boyfriend's place in which his dad lives at Daniel.
They both had a secret physical hidden spark when they saw each other before but didn't tell anyone. But now living in the same house it can't be denied. The chemistry is off the charts hot. Definitely out of a Pretty Woman Movie which the book refers to a couple of times. This is a great quick read with a simple plot a simple characters and a great HEA.

Daniel is looking towards reelection and is not home that much, but when he has an unexpected break, he is surprised what he finds at home.

Quick pace read with steamy moment, trust and family that takes you on a unique ride.

I like both Pretty Woman and Fifty Shades of Grey, so Intent to Keep was a book I was very interested in reviewing. I like the forbidden love and instalove tropes.

Farrah has difficult life circumstances and has to live with Daniel while she looks for somewhere to live. She was dating his son, but Daniel has feelings for her...

I very much enjoyed Farrah and Daniel’s love story. This novella captures so much heart in a short story and it really packs a punch without losing the important details. Logan, Daniel’s son, is a great character as well. I loved how his tenacity and courage grew within the story. As always I’m a sucker for a great HEA and this one I da’ bomb!.

A new Author for me to check out and I am pleased to say I was content with her age gap romance story. A rather short and fast read but certainly for me it was still entertaining and I imagine due to its length why the story was more succinct losing out on other aspects that comes with longer stories.

Intent to keep kept my attention!

I absolutely enjoyed this book! The story flowed beautifully and kept my interest for what was coming next! Only reason it didn't get five stars is because I wasn't ready for it to end!
