Breach of Contract by Elizabeth Miller is the story of Jayce Kavanagh and Maisie Walker.
Maisie is Jayce's assistant but she is fighting her attraction to him. Maisie wasn't encouraged to have self awareness in her beauty instead was somewhat beat down about her looks. So she is sure that he has not desire for her until she starts to see that he does. Jayce can't afford to be in any time of relationship with Maise who works for him and his partner at the law firm. But when he can't fight the tension he has for her he thinks to do a contract between them. But Maisie starts to get tired of being his dirty secret can there be more between them?
Enjoyed their hot story.

I received a complimentary ARC - early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.

This is a brand new author for me and it appears like she is a relatively new author. She did a wonderful job with it. It is an interesting story with some interesting characters and I would love to read more stories in this series.

Also a couple that is mentioned in this story as best friends with the heroine, Maisie are Caden and Piper and their son. You can read that story, Sound of Silence here from Amazon.

That said I almost quit reading this story at 50%. The first part of the book I highly enjoyed. Great characters, great storyline, and just enough drama to make me really enjoy the story, plus lots of side characters I really enjoyed.

But around 50% I sorta started hating the male lead, Jayce and I hated how Maisie, the female lead allowed him to treat her. And because of that I started to disrespect her as well. And had this not been a review, I would have quit right then and there, but I didn't I kept reading and I got angrier at times. Eventually Maisie finally sees how she is being treated and how wrong it is and she finally fights back and things finally change enough for me to enjoy the story.

This is essentially a boss/intern romance. But at times I felt like Jayce was cheating on Maisie and I hate books like that. Now he never actually cheats on her so I want you to understand that but at times he treats her crappy and its because of this other woman. And while its a platonic relationship the things he does or shares with her made me feel like he cheated on Maisie. And it turned my stomache. Now Maisie almost always finds out but that's why I started to hate how she let him treat her.

For instance the first night they sleep together until morning. He runs out on Maisie to go to this other woman and Maisie even hears that he does this and she lets that go. Now he was being a good friend but it was too much. And he never even calls or tries to make it up to her. I would have made things hard for him but Maisie just lets it go and its not okay in my opinion.

The second instance I felt was really awful was when he celebrates Thanksgiving with his family he brings her along. Now its platonic and they make a big show how she is family and its not a date. But imagine the guy you really like and instead of spending a holiday with him, he is with his family and this other woman. Not okay in my opinion.

There is a 3rd example but finally Maisie gets a clue and so I was so happy she doesn't continue accepting this behavior and finally fights back. The book ends on a great note but mostly its a summary and I would have rather got to experience it rather than being told it more in a fast summary .

That said I did enjoy the other characters in the story and would love to read their stories next.

I just adored this story; this is such a great start to a series. The plot was so good, so delicious and so sexy. I was really excited reading about this seemingly unobtainable goal; the fantasy of the boss falling for the employee is so forbidden and dangerous, the thought that any second they could be caught... yeah, that got my pulse racing too.

Most of the characters are so adorable that I would love to be a part of this group of family and friends; a couple of the people were very hateful, I love to feel hatred for a nasty piece of work. Maisie is a wonderful character that blooms and grows with the passing of the pages, she’s a good friend.. Most of her family leave a lot to be desired and this causes a lot of Maisie’s bad self image.

Jayce Kavanagh is my newest book boyfriend; he just has it all; personality, looks, girth *wink wink* ... be still my heart! He and his whole family just made me fall for all of them. He really needed to get on board and let Maisie into his life. Obviously, he messes up, he is just a mere man after all! But he is so forgiven.. oh so forgiven!

I can’t wait for the rest of the Kavanagh brothers stories!

* New to me author

I LOVED this story. Breach of Contract is a new series from Elizabeth Miller and what a start of this series it is. Jayce Kavanagh is a top lawyer in the firm and he is known to NOT touch anyone in the firm. He doesn't do love or relationships. He knows what can happen when you mess with someone you shouldn't. But he has always had his eyes on Maisie an intern for his law firm.

Maisie is not afraid to tell Jayce exactly how she wants him or where. Yes, she is younger than him but not horribly but she is a virgin. She doesn't take it as something to regret she just hasn't found anyone she is attracted to. Maisie also is a plus size girl, she has some issues with that. I liked how Elizabeth brings that into the story but doesn't stay on it or let Maisie or Jayce glance over it. Jayce loves it and tells Maisie how he feels about her body.

Breach of Contract is a great story and I can't wait to see who is next!

This is my first book by Elizabeth Miller and I am so going to work my way through all her previous books.
Breach of Contract is a super sexy read, and it is everything I love about romance books. But what I took away from Maisie and Jayce’s story was knowing your own self worth. That the whole loving yourself first certainly applies to Maisie. She has many moments of doubt but that’s mainly thanks to her horrible mom. Who she eventually becomes after thanks to her relationship with Jayce was simply beautiful to read. Every time she stepped out of the shadows and believed she was the exceptional woman she was I truly cheered. By the end of the story I was almost giddy with pride for Maisie.
Now a bit of a spoiler - the whole wedding scene was incredibly beautiful and romantic and would have to be one of the best I have ever read.

Wow

Um. I am recked. I actually thought this book was going to be heart reaching, and it is but for a totally different reason then some of the reviews made it sound like. I thought he would treat her bad until he realized what a gem she was. But that’s not it. He’s loving. He does mess up but holding back and keeping secrets. But he knew how great she was the whole time. It was such a great story.

Such a fantastic book! Elizabeth Miller is a new to me author and I will definitely be reading more from her!

Maisie Walker is such a kickass heroine, strong, smart, beautiful, curvy, and yet so unaware of how wonderful she is because of her mother and sister. She has been demeaned her whole life about her weight and is only now starting to live for herself. She gets a job at the best law firm and plans to get into Columbia. Show her mother that she can be more than someone's dirty little secret. She didn't know that she would fall like a lead balloon for her boss and give him her most precious gift.

Jayce Kavanagh hasn't let a woman in his heart for over a decade. It was broken once and now all his time is spent on his law firm and family. Maisie sashays into his life like a nuclear explosion he never sees coming and he never recovers. They make a contract to keep their relationship secret because they work together, but there are secrets both withold. As the relationship grows bigger than their contract, can it withstand those hidden agendas?

The steamy times between these two were so hot! My kindle heated up every time they were around each other, and I loved watching them let down their defenses and grow together. The secondary characters were so lovable, even though it took a while to warm up to Ash. I wanted to ship her off to somewhere far away for most of the book, lol. But I grew to love Lily, Maisie's sister (she changed after being married) and her husband, her friend Piper and her husband, and all of Jayce's family. Everyone was so supportive. And the HEA was great but the epilogue was perfect!! This deserves more than Five Peachy Stars!

I absolutely loved Maisie and Jayce’s story. I enjoy office romances and Elizabeth Miller’s fresh, new take on an office romance was fantastic.

Maisie loves sex even though she is a virgin and she can’t stop fantasizing about her boss. She’s surprised to find the feeling is mutual. Jayce can’t get his newest employee out of his mind, but he knows better than to mess around at work. They eventually agree to a draw up a contact so they can secretly satisfy their desires. What could go wrong?

The chemistry between these two is off the charts. It jumps off the page!!!

Maisie is a breath of fresh air. She is strong and tries to be confident even when others might try to put her down. She says what she wants and she’s not afraid to take risks. I want to be her friend!!! Jayce is also a great character. He does mess up sometimes but he’s great at the grand gesture. Plus his family is AWESOME and I hope we get to read about them in later books.

Elizabeth is a new author to me, but I will definitely be reading everything by her. This book delivered laughs, tears, angst, and all the feelings. It was fantastic!!!!

This is my first book from Elizabeth Miller and I loved it!
This is an interesting story with romance, sexiness and enough drama. And needless to say I always enjoy a boss-assistant relationship.
Not only I enjoyed the interactions of the main couple, Jayce and Maisie, but I would love to read more about the secondary characters.
I can’t wait to read more from Elizabeth!

This is my first Elizabeth Miller read and I’m hungry for more! I adore Maisie and Jayce’s story. Maisie and her self confidence is something to envy even when it slips at times. Jayce even though he tries to hide behind a wall of stone is sweet and casing.
Breach of Contact is romantic, sweet, dirty (in a good way), steamy and just a great read. I look forward to more in the series.

This steamy read is about Maisie Walker, a plus size legal assistant working at Jayce Kavanagh's law firm where Jayce has a reputation for being harsh, difficult and demanding. Maisie only started working at the firm for three weeks so has not had much contact with the head lawyer, Jayce. There is an instant, fiery attraction between them and they start a forbidden affair with a contract which protects Jayce and his firm.

Maisie was a lovely, believable character that was constantly being belittled by her mother (and previously her sister, Lily) so her self confidence crumbles quickly when she has to face the constant emotional abuse from her parent. Her mother was absolutely awful!
But Jayce is reveals himself to be so caring and re-builds her confidence with his overwhelming attraction to her.

Jayce is a complex character, with a penchant for quoting Shakespeare and he has very strong family values and is so loving towards his various family members (and adopted family member, Ash) and yet he is extremely ruthless at work. He is very determined to have Maisie as he is incredibly attracted to her plus size and her strong character.

These two main characters spent a LOT of time in each others' pants that it actually was a bit much and a bit boring. I enjoyed the second half of this book more as the storyline was better developed. There is a lot of swearing which I did not like.

However, the book was entertaining, it was well written and I really liked the ending - it was different. Jayce was a more endearing character at the end and I'm glad this pair discovered that open communication is the best for their relationship with Jayce no longer hiding secrets.

An enjoyable book.

This book is so hot and steamy. At first, I thought there was no story and omg amount of steamy indicting an erotic tale. However, the author surprised me, eventually getting into a romance story.

Maisie is a confident, curvy, honest woman who is an assistant in this big law firm. She has the hots for her boss Mr. Jayce Kavanuagh. Apparently, he is smitten with her, too, as after a hot office confrontation, many oops wording. She is candid about what she would like from him. He agrees as it will get her naked with him. But he also makes her sign a contract like any good lawyer would do. The contract is for her protection but primarily for his and the company. After some explicit entanglements between the characters, he finally decides he loves her. Christmas was magical and, of course, filled with lots of steamy details. But what happens after is truly sad. I couldn’t believe such lousy stuff happened to our poor Maise, but she was stronger than I thought thru it. I how you at this point I felt that the story would end not happy. I was surprised with the rest and enjoyed the romance in it and the erotic steamy scenes. Want to know the end? You have to read this one, but it does end happily.

I love that the author centered this on a curvy woman bullied by her mother to be a thing and knew she wasn’t perfect but was happy with herself. I love that she embraced her curves, and her work ethic was incredible. The author really created a character in Maisie that kept me hooked on this book. Yeah, the attraction to the boss was kinda cliche, but I do love how it turned around eventually. Jayce is swoon-worthy in the descriptions and, of course, in his action, even though not everything went right for him. I loved that he found courage at the end and tried but did get his girl. This book has many hidden storylines and back data to understand when stuff hits the fan. Still, it also did a great job explaining people with hearts and feelings.

3.5 Stars🌟

To be fair, I have rounded up to 4, since there were so really good parts to the book, I ultimate decided they would overcome the bad parts.

First, the bad: I don’t like books where the author uses graphic words that are unnecessary. I skimmed and skipped through the first 25%of the book because I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy Jayse and his dirty mouth. Don’t get me wrong, I like an alpha male who makes his wants clear, but it could have been done with more finesse.

What saves this book for me was Maise. She is a plus sized woman with a big heart and big personality. I like her character and how she goes after what she wants in life, including Jayse, even with all his conditions.

Overall, I liked the message of loving who you are, family ties and fighting to make love work. I enjoyed the ending and am glad I finished the book 😁

What an enjoyable read! A little erotica, well written, is a pleasurable thing.
The "contract" between Masie and Jayce was never going to work, they were too into each other for it to not go beyond the written word.
While the entire story was a wonderful reading experience the twist toward the end was great. Masie surprised me when she realized she had work to do on herself. Giving herself time to heal and repair the damage caused by her family was the best thing she could have done for herself.
Ms. Miller writes a great story and I intend to read more of her books, just not back to back. They are too strong (?) for that.
Caution! If you don't like erotica, don't read this one. Even though it is very well done, it will probably be too much for your enjoyment.

Really lovely story!

This is my first Elizabeth Miller book and Breach of Contract was soooo good! I’ll be reading more, for sure!

Jayce falls so fast and couldn’t get enough of his curvy girl. I loved how gaga he was for Maisie, though her inexperience and insecurities made her try to stick to their contract, even when Jayce was all-in. I get that self-doubt… what a horrid mother!

My one ‘issue’ is that Jayce didn’t tell her everything until it was almost too late, and not for any real reason, but resulting time apart gave Maisie the time to work on her self-confidence and chase her dreams.

The chemistry between these two left little doubt they belong they belonged together.

Absolutely delicious!

I love a good office romance and this one was pretty darned good. I love when characters grow into their own skin so brilliantly that you can't help but cheer when they get there, when they stand up for themselves, when those around them who SHOULD be on their side finally step up. This story had all of that and more. Way steamier than I expected (and VERY happily so) considering our heroine was a virgin. There were some amazing surprises and some truly amazing side characters that I REALLY want to know more about, including ALL of the Kavanagh brothers. I'll also be going back to read Piper and Caden's story because....well they were pretty great characters too.

Breach Of Contract is my first book by Elizabeth Miller but after reading this, it certainly won’t be the last. I loved reading Maisie and Jayce’s story, it was a fantastic start to what is sure to be a fabulous series. It’s sexy and romantic, with that feeling of knowing one’s worth.
Maise has a horrible mom who makes her feel bad about herself, but Jayce changes all that for her.
Jacye is ‘the’ man, he’s HOT, sexy as sin, and gorgeous.
But, he’s also just a regular man at heart, and he messes up at times. That just makes him more real and worth reading about.
I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in the series, until then, I’ll binge Ms. Miller’s other books.

This was definitely a lighter read, with pretty low level angst, but some of the hottest scenes I’ve read. I think what contributed to this was the fact that The heroine was so incredibly forward. I’ve not read many books like that-but it truthfully cut a lot of the “slow burn” that we so look for in books. What is interesting about that, though, is it absolutely didn’t take away from the burning chemistry between the two characters.
I’ve read one other book by this author-and loved it so I’ve been waiting forever to read more of her work. She definitely didn’t disappoint, she’s an amazing author and I will always one click her books!

Loved, loved, loved it. Breach of contract was a really good read. I can't say no to a good office romance and couldn't put this one down. The characters a fabulous, really made the book and the chemistry is scortching.
Maise has only been working at the firm for four weeks and every day she has lusted after the boss, Jayce. He stars in more than one of her fantasies, he it her fantasy.
Jayce hasn't been able to think of anything but Maise since she started work in his office. He's tried to ignore he but it doesn't't work so he tries something different and hopefully satisfying, A Contract.

This book was free on the kindle store and it was just how I should’ve expected it to be. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. The biggest detractor for me was the ridiculously dramatic second half. Why does one small miscommunication with her boss/boyfriend spiral into her becoming single, getting fired, mugged, and changing her whole life in the span of a day. Also, the fact it ends in a wedding shortly after. It was just too much.

Also this is not the cover on the version I got and I feel like if this is the original cover then it’s extremely misleading.

I’m not yet finished with this book. I’m half way through but frankly I’m tired of reading about her chest and his groin. They’ve had one decent conversation so far. The rest of the book centers on their interactions with other people. It may all tie together at some point but so far the only conflict these two have standing in their way is his demand for absolute secrecy. Frankly, she deserves better so I don’t like that she caves. He’s not worth it so far. If I finish I’ll edit my review.

Quite a few things to like about this one, what I didn't like was the over-the-top (for me) sex scenes. Maisie was pretty great; she has mommy issues and they're handled well. Jayce was a bit rough for me, but he comes around (almost too late) and makes up for everything in the end. The first book in a series, I would have liked more information about secondary characters instead of so much focus on their vivid sex life. Standalone, part of a series, HEA.

I think this had a lot of potential and wish I had read it at a different time. I was looking for an over the top rom com to get me out of a personal funk and I know that clouded my enjoyment a tad.

I think Maisie was an amazing, fiery, plus size powerhouse and I really enjoyed her humour.

The spice was super steamy and the grand gestures were sickeningly sweet in the best ways.

I really enjoyed the Kavanaugh family dynamic and I could see it building into a fantastic series.

I love Maisie and Jayce's story! They both had a vulnerability at times that doesn't always come across from each character in stories like this one. Their chemistry was off the charts! Office romances are meant to be forbidden and you are never to cross that line. There was just no way for them to fight it.

You will fall in love with their characters and this book. Go one-click immediately!

A book about self loving and self worth. I never expected the story to be this and I absolutely adored it, such a fantastic read! Great boook

I really loved that the author addressed the issue of self-image in this book. She did it so well. She gave Maisie a painful youth but the ability to rise above her experiences to realize how special she is. I also am totally in love with Jayce. He is such an alpha that falls like a brick. It is nice to read books that are more realistic but still happy.
