Second Chance

This is the beginning of a new MC, the Steel Reapers MC, and what a start it was. Years ago Jackson left not only the woman he loved behind, but everything else he held dear because all had their lives threatened.

It was an attempt on his life that set everything in motion once again bringing Madison back front and center. The story revolved around Jackson trying to help Madison get away from her fiancé which has a stronghold on her and her family.

This book was full of suspense, chemistry, steam and drama that made it a big page turner. The only problem I had with this book was at the end with a forgiveness that I couldn’t get behind.

Safety: This is always hard to do without being too spoiler-y, but I think Safety warnings are important. There’s no cheating but heroine is with another man after she and Hero split. OM drama with OM being the Big Bad. No cliffhanger, although there are threats of future attacks. HEA is more of a HFN because of said threat.
Triggers- Language, extremely graphic violence, explicit erotic content, threats of s. violence, , menacing, torture, threatened self-harm, Kenny G Trauma, Egregious Use of Nicknames.
Tropes- Second Chance, Star-Crossed Lovers, Forced Engagement, Dysfunctional Family FTW, Kidnapping?, I Need A Drink, Hate Sex High (subverted, as well as perverted), Evil Fiancé, Ragtag Band of Misfits.
What I liked- I liked the “good guys”. Rook is my absolute favorite character. He was incredibly funny. And his adoration of Eliza was sweet. She is his beloved kryptonite and he would do anything to make her happy. I liked that Madison was smart (smarter than Bullet) and that she could think on her feet. Her dedication to her education was admirable. She also had some realistic reactions to the verbal and physical abuse, but she didn’t let it completely break her. Bullet had extreme adrenaline reserves. I was amazed that he could function after that beat down. His dogged determination to save Madison was a direct reflection of his love for her. He had a loyal heart. Speaking of loyalty, Thunder had that in Spades. And the bad guys were decidedly evil, even the one who was a surprise. It’s fun to boo such straight up evil.
Other thoughts- I can’t even with her parents. I don’t think she should have trusted them after what they did. Forgiveness is good for the soul, but forgetting is not so smart.
What I didn’t like- Rook is so in love with Eliza that I can’t even have him as a Book Boyfriend.
Verdict- enjoyable. Not so much MC as it is about bikers, but certainly MC Adjacent.

He tells her that he's always loved her and that he's going to destroy the Covington crime empire to keep me. Will our enemies succeed in tearing us apart or will Bullet and I finally get our happy ending? You really need to read this extremely violent dual POV,kidnapping, forced engagement, second chance romance full of danger, suspense, chemistry and drama to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Different but good

Bullet (Jackson) and Maddy are true soul mates. They fell in love one summer and planned to run away together. However, due to an unfortunate situation, that never happens. Jackson is forced to leave and disappear without a word to anyone he cares about otherwise he risks putting their lives in danger. During that time away, Maddy goes to college but has been forced into an arranged marriage. Her wedding day is getting close when Jackson shows up out of the blue.

These two have many ups and downs before getting their HEA. There is some suspense that keeps you guessing. But there were so many obvious points in the book that something was up and left me sitting here frustrated as to why the characters could be that oblivious. Some things became repetitive and unrealistic but not enough to take away from the story. I think the only thing that really irritated me was that we had the opportunity to see Rook in this series with his woman. However, in this book her name is Elena but in Rook's book, her name is Eliza??... just strange... Anyways, good quick read. I give it 3 stars.

Part of the Steel Reapers MC series once you start it you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned Madison is such a sweet girl who loves her family smart as all get out, focused on getting her degree but what she has to do to save her family is weighing her down she is being forced to marry a man that isn’t a nice or good man. Jackson sexy as all get out known as the Bullet is doing everything in his power to rescue his girl from a man he knows will abuse her, won’t love her the way she needs to be loved and that just won’t can’t happen on his watch so despite the fact that beaten, threaten, and even shot to stay away but that isn’t going to keep him away from his girl. This is the second time he has come back for her considering he left her the first time around and the determination of Alexander keeping her but Bullet is more determined to rescue her will he succeed, will they finally get their chance, it is a second chance do they realize it grabbing ahold, can they stop her fiancé for good this time around, and can they find happiness something they need badly?

DNF. I made it half way through the supposed MC book, without actually knowing what MC is involved. Literally the H isn’t even a part of the MC. I almost stopped reading after the guys “kidnap” the h and are supposed to be ransoming her, yet they go to her apartment in town for her laptop. Then let’s just stop at a local bar for good measure. It doesn’t stop there! They decide to go to a symphony concert so they stop at his old house. Perhaps dumb in general since she’s supposed to have been kidnapped, but made worse by the fact her fiancé is supposed to be some criminal with all sorts of goons at his disposal and who supposedly were already watching her. Like they wouldn’t have eyes on her apartment. Give him three days to get the money just so happens to fall on the day her thesis is due. I can already see how this story will play out and I’m not willing to skim another 50% of a book to see that I’m right. I stopped reading when he decides to fight some dude at the concert *insert eye roll here*

Jackson/Bullet was forced to disappear to protect the woman he loved four years ago. When he came back to check on her, he was shot by her fiancé's goon. He has to get out of the hospital and find a way to protect her. He comes up with a plan to kidnap her and get her enough money so she can get away from him.

Maddy was forced to accept Alexander Covington's marriage proposal to save her family's business. The Covington's are not on the right side of the law and will do anything to get what they want. When Jackson comes back and abducts her, he tells her of his scheme to protect her.

You want Bullet and Maddy to get their happily ever after and away from Alexander. There is betrayal but someone close, physical and emotional abuse and roller coaster ride from the beginning.

This is the start of the new series Steel Reapers MC, it is probably not the last site of the Covington family.

Bullet is the first book in what I think may be the Steel Reapers MC series. Though it is filled with a lot of violence, drama, action, romance, suspense, steamy hottiness, and more, the storyline is hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud often while reading this book.

The characters bring humor and realism to the story. Thunder, aka Marcus, has jokes galore. Bullet, aka Jackson, frequently serves as his straight man and he as Bullet's accomplice. Then there is Rook, who is the grumpiest man alive, unless he is dealing with the love of his life, Eliza. She is the optimist in the group, while Bullet's lady love, Madison, is the brains. To save their lives, this group of misfits are the start of the Steel Reapers MC. I can hardly wait to see who else joins the MC.

She’s extremely intelligent, resilient, and focused on getting her degree and saving her family. He’s been run off, shot, and beaten but he’s determined to save the love of his life. Lots of action, gun play, kidnapping, betrayal, and mathematical solutions keep this story interesting. The sex is panty melting dirty and they definitely belong together. I love his friend, his partner, and their interactions. I can’t wait for the shenanigans to come!.

This is the first book for me by this author and I really like how she had Jackson/Bullet so into Madison that he would do anything for her, including leaving her alone and breaking her heart... Madi is under extreme pressure by her family to make a choice that is about them and not her, giving her an unwanted fiancé in Alexander. He's looking to gain respectability by marrying into Madi's old money family. Only thing is, he's not a nice or good man. Thankfully, Bullet is in the wings for Madi, until he can't hover there any more and makes his move ;) With fascinating side characters, action, drama, danger and steam, these two find their way to an HEA :D

This was a neat story, we get the beginning of how the MC was started. Bullet and Madison meet by chance. From there over the years things go from bad to worse. The fiancé of Madi’s has a vendetta against Bullet and will do anything to keep them apart. Madi’s under control from her family and his. This just further complicates things for everyone. Kidnapping, beatings and shooting commence. How will these guys get out of harms way?.

This book was so thrilling and suspenseful, I could not put this down. Maddie and Bullet are freer characters, with even greater chemistry.

Jackson (AKA Bullet) was Maddie’s first love, her hope of freedom when it came to the marriage that was arranged. But then he was gone.

Now, she is engaged to ruthless and cruel Alexander. But Jackson comes back and kidnaps, letting her know he has never stopped loving her.

Now Covington is doing everything he can to make trouble for these two.

Does she go for her heart's desire or family duty? What will each put her thru? What cost is too high? This book has all the things needed for a great story! Bullet is book 1 in the new Steel Reaper's MC series and what a beginning it is! Jackson Reid and Madison Sinclair have a heckuva time thanks to the great Alexander Covington. This man created lots of trouble for these two but when Bullet finds his place and Maddy discovers just what a tough cookie she is it doesn't take long for him to be put in his place. At least for now. This promises to be another great series and I can't wait for book 2.

A lot of great action and drama that was packed into this story with Bullet and Maddie. I love how Bullet always was protective of Maddie, even without her knowing he was there for her. Their relationship was on fire and so good throughout the book. The other MC characters also brought out a funny side with their humor so it balanced in all the heavy stuff that was mixed in.

I knew where the story was heading, but it took an awfully long winding road to get there. The unusual characters that are in Zahara's stories are present and accounted for, and I especially liked Bullet and Thunder. Some of the non romantic over sharing I could pass on, but it's part of what makes it Bullets story. It will be interesting to see the series grow.

It was entertaining, but flat. Some parts of this story seemed to go to fast and glaze over parts that should be more impactful. Maddy has an odd mindset about the whole thing and she seems to minimize their past. And neither seem to take the looming threat seriously. Her parents suck, are cruel, and absent, but she still fights so hard for them. There's just a level of immaturity that I'm not into. Also, there are some big inconsistencies.
