"A heart made of ice can burn as hot as fire. A heart made of stone can break as easily as glass. Between the two, the thread that ties us together can snap. Fragile. Broken. Unaware of the shadows accompanying us."
Reen has met his match after tethering to Pandora Hart. Since then, his life has turned upside down.
Trained to hunt, fight, and protect his family, having her around seems like an added complication he never expected. She becomes Reen's distraction and the lives he promised to protect crack underneath her violent gaze.
He wants to protect her. Cherish her. Care for her. However, the closer he gets to her, the more the shadows of his past interfere, wanting to wrap around Pandora in a deadly embrace.
This is beyond a hunt. In A Symphony of Flesh and Snow, they're fighting to survive.

4.5 🌟 I haven't read anything like this series! Shaina's writing style is just so unique, I loved the diary entries! This book is Dark but I laughed out loud at so many scenes. The banter!!! Reen and Pandora are my favourite timeline and wow that ending....can't wait for the 3rd book! I was gifted an ARC for my honest thoughts xo
I love Shaina’s books so much. A Symphony of Flesh and Snow was such a roller coaster of emotions. It’s hilarious and heartbreaking. The ending had my jaw on the floor. The banter and found family were amazing. I think the world is so interesting and I love the mix of traditional fantasy elements with modern amenities. I can’t wait for the next book!
"We shouldn't work, but you can't have the light of the moon without the shadows accompanying it."
WOW. I don't even know what to say—this book completely blew me away! Just like the others in the series, it was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. I adored getting to know the characters even more, and the writing style was just chef's kiss—so immersive and beautiful. Even though it's a big book, time flew by while reading it. I didn’t want it to end!
The journal entries added such a powerful touch—so raw and personal, giving so much insight. And Reen being a hybrid?! Omg, I did not see that coming, but it makes so much sense. He and Pandora are just perfect for each other—their banter? Top tier. Their growth together? Beautiful. I love how they bring out the best (and worst) in each other, even if their past traumas keep getting in the way. Reen constantly feeling undeserving broke my heart. But him rebuilding her old house? Swoon.
I also really enjoyed learning more about Ziri and Astin’s past—it gave so much depth. And Walkyer being in love with Pandora as well was such a bittersweet little detail.
And then—Reen is royalty?! The ending completely wrecked me. Astin’s death, Reen being locked up, and Desmond definitely being the crystallized figure at sea (I KNEW IT!). And the tragic accident with Sara and Kylie… my heart shattered. Reen grew so much in this book—he let love into his life, finally—and then everything got ripped away from him. And Pandora finally started loving herself, and now they’re apart again (for now??).
Question though: the whole idea of someone being able to “tethering to a child” had me screaming internally—how is that even a thing?? I get that they wear contacts now for sure.
This book was everything—intense, emotional, and completely unforgettable.
"I'm falling for you. The good, the bad, and the chaos."
A symphony of Flesh and Snow takes us on a journey, not only to discover more about Reen and Pandora, but just as much about ourselves. This chapter brings a totally new and undiscovered banter between Reen and Pandora, and also a rollercoaster of emotions. It is nice to be a part of the developments between not only them, but also the knights of Eraminia. What really stood out to me is how Shaina effortlessly weaves the happy moments and sad moments into the story, and how self acceptance is a really big part in this chapter. We all have scars, internally, ingrained in our mind, externally, visible on our bodies. Both of which we have to embrace, acknowledge and accept. In a Symphony of Flesh and Snow we get reminded of the beauty and the hardships this entails, we get to experience the struggles and the journey Reen and Pandora, but also Ziri and Astin, and even Walkyer, have to go through. The ending had me flabbergasted, and I am not afraid to admit I had tears running over my cheeks more than once.
I finished this book yesterday however I was sobbing till the end of it, I could barely see where I put my phone let alone be able to write this rewrite.
During the last two books author made me fall in love with certain character only to off him on the end. And. It. Hurts. So. Much.
In 'A Requiem of Fire and Ice' we got to see Reen and Pandora getting togathere and here we got to see them learning to love themselves and each other. However was it enough for them to at the end be togather... that I will let you to find out on your own.
Needlessly to say, I'm in love with this book and this series, I'm sad I didn't find and start this earlier. The writing, i think i commented this author's writing already, but it's sooo good, the way I didn't even realize I was reading but instead had a feeling I was in the book— love it. And the plot, the spice, chatacter development... everything is top tier and I can't wait to read more.
4.5 stars. I loved diving back into Pandora and Reen's timeline. They are such a feisty pair and the violent banter between them is so good! I loved finding out the background behind them both and how he is trying not to kill her all the time. Pandora is a complex FMC with trama in her past which she is learning to overcome. Reen is also perfectly paired with his equally traumatic past and how they both manage this together. Astin became one of my favourite characters as a knight we found out much more about him and I enjoyed his interactions with Pandora so much! I love how diverse this world is and how it combines aspects of fantasy, paranormal and dystopian vibes all in one. I'm excited to read what happens next after those events at the end! Oh my heart!
Reen and Pandora has a special place in my heart. I adore them and I love their banter! I love the journey they do together and their character growth. I’m not sure there is a couple more perfect for each other? They are both unhinged and I love it.
That ending though! It was rough and opened up so many questions as to where the next book will take us. I really can’t wait for it.
I really enjoy Shaina’s writing. It feels like nothing I’ve read before and very entertaining.
This book can get a bit dark sometimes so be sure to check triggers.
