All's Fair #3

All I Survive

Rate this book
Roman Amato is his father's heir, but a lifetime of training for such a position can't keep the doubt and insecurities from plaguing every decision he makes. His only reprieve is the trust and utter devotion he gets from his two lovers.

Tennant Mason and Hollis Maddigan didn't need Roman to complete them, but they can't deny he gives them everything they never expected. In turn, they'll protect what's theirs, even if it means saving the boy from himself.

Jude Manassero has spent a lifetime bending to his family's will, pretending to be anything except who he really is. A chance meeting with the Amato Family opens up a world he never expected.

Lured in by the promise of an understanding he never thought he’d have, Jude finds himself enchanted by the three men. But his time with them may be his undoing.

The push and pull of fighting for what they want leads to explosive chemistry that rocks the very foundation of who Roman, Tennant, and Hollis are, while Jude struggles to trust they could want all of him, forever.

Just as they're finding their feet and learning how to be with one another, the past begins to repeat itself, and betrayal cuts into the heart of the Family. With his leadership in question, Roman must choose between the life he wants and who he thinks he needs to be. Either way, survival is never a guarantee…

All I Survive is book three in the All’s Fair series. It must be read after book 2, All I Fear. This is a dark mafia series and contains violence and intense sexual situations. Please see the TW page for details.

"Being strong just means the fall from grace is shattering"
This is book 3 and it does not disappoint.
No, it is not a standalone but it does have a Happy For Now ending
No spoilers 😉
If you have any triggers you probably should pass on this series
This is a mafia romance and as such it has all the colorful crimson splatters and eerie warehouse scenes you would expect - and then some
It is also an MMM romance that is hades fire hot with no ducks and no rules given
and that is just the grey areas  ;)
For the rest of you, those who enjoy bathing in the deep end of the pool
You're gonna enjoy this journey
I am a bit biased as this is one of my favorite MM mafia series and all the characters own a small piece of me

"He trained me against getting kidnapped, not against small ninjas in hiding."
The attacks continue on the family
As the hits get closer to home the losses begin to mount and the family is getting frustrated. Especially now that all leads point to it being from the inside.
Can they figure out who is trying to take them down before it is too late?

"He's fascinating, confusing and we want him-simple as that."
Meanwhile, our dear Leandro is bored and decides to bring home a stray
Well not quite a stray - Jude
Something about him resonates with Leandro
And it looks as though he is not the only one drawn to the little lamb
Like calls to like and all that

"I see who you are and what you hide, and more importantly, I understand it. You're safe with us"
Roman wants to keep him and Ten and Hol seem to feel the same
Is our throuple about to become a quadruple?
Or will Jude's truth leave Roman with no choice but to terminate the relationship, on a permanent note?

"It's watching, not stalking."
But is he really a stray that was just happened upon?
Or is there something a bit more nefarious to their little lamb

"It makes me ... I want to do bad things to the people who treated him as less than capable"
The reckoning...
Omg
I'm fricking dead
The end
The justice that was served

Abri proves to us, yet again they can and will write what they want and blow our minds. We are back with the Amatos and get to meet a new character who is about to shake everything up once again in the best way possible.
This book has heart and shows how being narrow-minded about a disability makes a family lose out on someone who can be a key player.
This addition may start lighter but when it goes dark it goes dark in only a way a truly talented dark romance author is able to go where you're still sympathetic to the characters even when they terrify you.
The middle section may be a slow burn, but I felt it was necessary for us and these men to achieve this unbreakable bond to be able to thrive in this sort of environment.
Thank you, Abri, for writing dark romance with heart and soul, something not many authors can or even attempt to achieve. This can not be read as a standalone, so start on ALL I WANT to see how this all begins.

The Family that Slays Together ...

First, the CW warnings. There's a lot so check them out. This is bloody and violent as it is, after all, a dark mafia kink romance.
Tennant, Hollis and Roman have been an established polycule for about two years, when the pair added Roman to their partnership.
Leandro is assigned a tutor at college as he's deliberately failing. That tutor is Jude, who is the forgotten son of one of the families. He's been ignored due to his hard of hearing status. Unfortunately for his family who don't see him, they don't realise he's also 'unique' in the way that Ten and Leandro are.
So of course Leandro is fascinated which gets the interest of Hollis, then the others.
They invite him to test out for their relationship.
This is sexy, quirky, full of danger, romantic, and funny.
It also shows how much research the author has done into those who are part of the Deaf community - see intro for terminology explanations - and the hard of hearing. It's really well done.
And I look forward to Doc's story next.

This is the 3rd book of the series and the previous books must be read, but no worries since all of them are so good!!
Roman, Hollis, and Tennant have set their eyes on Jude, who has them intrigued by the facade he puts out to the world, hiding his true self. But they can see who Jude truly is, his eyes showing the need and desire for the same things they themselves crave and need. And what I loved about this relationship is that they know they don't need Jude to complete what they already have, just that Jude adds a little more to their relationship, something they want, not need. However, this didn't make Jude less of an equal or treated as an after thought. Also, Jude was not instantly accepted. Mr. Possessive, Hollis, would not let anyone join him and his partners that easily. They must follow his rules or else pay the price. Jude thinks he's prepared but little does he know the extent these men will go for each other. And boy are those bonds tested, the fragile trust is put to the test with each discovery and attack from an unknown enemy. What cannot be denied is the sizzling chemistry between these men, wowsers, were they hot when they got together 🔥 🥵
The pace of their relationship was perfectly set for these men who don't trust easily but know what they want. Each character has their "flaw" but fit perfectly together like puzzle pieces, each bringing a different part of the picture to create a beautiful dark masterpiece.
This is a mafia family so these are dark, morally grey characters who have no problem "taking care of their enemies" but they are written so beautifully that you can't help falling in love and rooting for them. It also had action, twists and turns that keep you on your toes, betrayal, and suspense. I can't wait for the next book, Doc. A character who I have loved since they were first introduced.

I will say it yet again, I LOVE THIS SERIES AND FAMILY

You must start at the beginning, book 1 as there’s an over reaching arc to it.

The Amatos find themselves targets, as usual. Hello this is the Mafia. Tennant, Hollis, and Roman’s world turns upside down when they find Jude. Can Jude be trusted? Is he who they think he is?

I really loved Jude and his disability made him the man he is. His family problem that they missed out on who he is. (Just not smart). Heheheh

This story is definitely dark. I did get queasy toward the end but it was warranted. I feel like Abri has turned me even darker than I am. Job well done.

I loved catching up with everyone and can not wait for book 4. I’m begging already.

This was a dark and violent story (as you expect with these men) but there were also some very tender and understanding moments around Roman and Jude. I loved that these were hard men who were able to do very violent things but they were also caring and treated others with respect unless you had done something to them or those they loved. There were a lot of emotions and feelings covered in this story and I really empathised with Jude when looking at how he was treated in his family and their actions at the heart of this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MMMM story with mature content and lots of mature content. Please read the trigger warnings for t his book.

This series gets more end more intense, and I am talking about both the plot and the relationships.

These characters do bad things, and they regret nothing. They love hard and they hate hard, the level of violence in certain scenes was the craziest in the whole series (to the point of making me chuckle at certain things lol) and honestly I wouldn't even be surprised if the MCs at some point in the future they even k1ll each other 😅

And I have to say again, I think that Abrianna writes the best poly romance I've ever read. Most of poly books in MM romance are MM+ trying to ensure a balanced, whole union because that's probably what's easiest to understand to non-poly readers (me included)
But Abrianna goes way deeper than that, showing the individual 1 to 1 relationships inside the polycule, the different dynamics, a possible hierarchy, and they really make it make sense.
It goes to show that really every poly relationship is unique and valid, as long as the rules are agreed and transparent to everyone.

Trigger Warnings:

I kind of hate to say I enjoyed reading this book – because it's so very dark and reading about torture just isn't my thing – but I did enjoy it. The three books in this series have challenged my reading because I have never read such dark stories. I don't have any triggers so the only reaction I had while reading the torture scenes was ick. 😊 Abrianna Denae's writing was once again top notch.

Bringing Jude into the established triad of Ten, Hollis and Roman was something I wouldn't have expected except that it was disclosed in the blurb. I loved the ASL representation in this story and the fact that the Amato family didn't treat Jude differently just because his hearing was impaired.

There were a few surprises along the way but I liked how everything played out and that the bad guys got what was coming to them. I don't know if more books are planned for this series but I really think Leandro needs to have a book so that he can get an HEA.

Note: you should read this series in order but you must at least read book two before this one.

An advanced copy of this book was provided to me at my request; my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

dirty, dark and oh so bloody

This was a great installment in the All’s fair series. I love Hollis, Tennant and Roman and I love the addition of Jude to their relationship. I loved seeing that progression and navigation. Jude is ultimately a wonderful man who has exactly what the other three want. He completes their relationship. This book is just as bloody and dark as the other books. We watch the Amato family try to find rats in their organization and protect the Family. I love getting to see Cristian and Carter. This family is amazing and I have so much fun reading this series. Well written and gripping as always. I devoured it and can’t wait for more of these characters.

Angst

Heartbreak

Torment

Pain

Blood

Betrayal

These are just a few words I can use to describe Abrianas latest masterpiece. All I survive is superbly written and is everything you would expect in an Abri novel.
Roman, Tenant and Hollis have their hands completely full with a new love interest but there is a massive twist.
I love how Christian and Carter show more of themselves in this work of art too.
A total glow up of all characters

This book was my first MMMM book. I have to say I absolutely loved it. In fact, I loved it that much. I have read this twice.

This book was everything I wanted. I loved Jude. I wasn't sure if I could trust his character at first. His chemistry with Tennant, Hollis and Roman was amazing.

I can't wait to read Doc's story next. I also hope Leandro gets a book too.

Thanks to the author for the ARC.

In the previous story, we could see how bodyguard Tennant and IT expert Hollis, started a relationship with Roman, son and heir of mafia boss Cristian and his partner/bodyguard Carter.

Roman is more than once a target, gets hurt, and his partners are vicious about it.
We meet Jude, the deaf son of a mafia boss. He got his eye on Roman, or was it Tennant, dang or was it Hollis? And is there even an attraction in return? Ha! Watch them!

The dynamic between all is completely different, but bloody explosive, there are a lot of stitches, thank you Doc.
Next to the four of them, there’s family business that needs attention!

It’s quite a violent experience, cruel torture, blood, dang, it was painful.
I loved the darkness but also the love. Arriving at the middle of the story it dragged on a bit, but after that, it accelerated vastly again. Don’t expect sweetness, soft touches, or caresses, it’s all rough, tough, sadistic, bloody painful and delicious.
Overall a captivatingly written, super entertaining story.

Another day, another dark romance series (more mobsters). This one is Abrianna Denae's All's Fair series. The third and final novel is "All I Survive."

["Roman Amato is his father's heir, but a lifetime of training for such a position can't keep the doubt and insecurities from plaguing every decision he makes. His only reprieve is the trust and utter devotion he gets from his two lovers.

With his leadership in question, Roman must choose between the life he wants and who he thinks he needs to be. Either way, survival is never a guarantee…"]

To be perfectly honest, I wasn't sure how a second novel with Roman/Tennnat/Hollis would be. 1) they went through so much emotional and physical shit already, and 2) I'm generally not a duology person (when both books follow the same couple).

But of course, with all of their fluff and kinks and murder boyfriend business, Jude somehow fit right in. He fit into their dynamic and into The Family in sooooo many ways. It was honestly a little fate-like. It was beautiful.

As was the four-way in the last chapter. And NO, not that kind of four-way (get your minds out of the gutter). I was talking about the way they effectively and efficiently and horn-ily unalived those people. I mean, seriously. That scene had no rights being as hilarious and as hot as it was.

Trigger Warnings: ableism, violence, torture, drugging, fear play/breath play/knife play/blood play, and more.

I had high expectations for this book and they were blown out of the water! This just showed me once again why I love reading any of Abrianna Denae's books and always jump at the opportunity to get an ARC.

I'll be honest and say I was nervous to read this book after reading Tennant, Hollis, and Roman's story in All I Fear. I felt like their relationship was perfect as it was and they didn't need anything else. However, I was wrong. Jude fits perfectly into their dynamic and while Tennant, Hollis, and Roman didn't need Jude, I feel like he adds something to the relationship that they previously missed.

As to the way Jude was written, you could tell the author put effort into learning Deaf culture, as well as showcasing how to navigate different types of relationships while Deaf or being with someone who is. I am not personally Deaf but I do believe that there needs to be more books with main characters that are Deaf or blind or have a disability.

I loved how the author wrote Jude into their relationship. Each of them offered something different to the relationship. I loved the connection they had as a whole, along with the individual connections. I will always be obsessed with the way Tennant treats his lovers and I am now obsessed with the way Hollis treats his lovers in this book.

I was surprised to see a couple of chapters in Cristian and Carter's POV but it was such a great decision and I was happy to see
Overall, I am in love with the whole book. Here are my two favorite quotes from the book:

Cristian Amato- More like he was fucking him. I know very well the look of a man who is getting fucked by the Boss. I see it in my husband every day

"You'll always be my favorite giocattolo. Besides, I think our little lamb is the type to play with toys, rather than be one." He smirks. "Good, I like the idea of being used by all three of you." "You're such a whore, Roman." He moans and moves in to kiss me before whispering, "You say such sweet things to me, Ten."

Love is not necessarily a stagnant thing, and I have so much respect for storytellers who don’t freeze their characters in amber at the moment of a previous “happily ever after.” Denae has crafted such complicated and intricate characters for this series that bucking the status quo feels more like a feature than a bug when the solid triad of Roman, Tennant, and Hollis expands in this book to include Jude. (After all, when ‘kidnapping as a love language’ is a great way to describe your romantic leads, anything is possible.)

That these men meet Jude at all is the result of the most unexpected secondary character playing matchmaker (and makes me even more hyped for his eventual book). Nothing about their initial attraction to Jude is simple, which fits perfectly within the established power dynamics of the trio. At the same time, those power dynamics also mean that he fits seamlessly within the boundaries each man sets for himself and the others. Denae nicely complements the various inherent inequalities of their positions, both within and without the structures of the relationship, with the love that clearly surpasses the limitations of those structures. This book also continues a theme that initially attracted me to this unique found family setting, which flips the importance of and differences between ‘love’ and ‘trust’ in the dark romance genre.

The eventual reveal of a frustrating enemy that has hounded the Amato family is both a surprise and completely logical, especially when it also forces personal conflict within the new dynamic that includes Jude. History may repeat itself, but the story does not feel repetitive in any way. Instead, I thoroughly enjoyed the various personal and relationship developments the conflict allows (and forces) for multiple characters.

I am completely invested in this series thanks to the way each book subverts the already complicated dark romance tropes, leading to a wild ride no matter which story arc is the primary focus of any scene. One thing is for sure, though: No enemy faced by the Amato family will ever be as dangerous as members of the Amato family themselves. And I don’t refer to the sociopaths here, when Hollis (the resident hacker) is clearly the most terrifying in the best (and sexiest) ways possible!

All I Survive’s title is amazingly accurate, because survive is exactly what I had to do! The author’s words kept me on edge and left me needing more. I wasn’t sure I’d survive the book, and most importantly how am I going to survive this book hangover!

This series is one of my favorites for so many reasons. The darkness. The twistedness. The intrigue. All of that combined makes the series stand out. It’s the complexity of the characters though that really shines through. Abrianna Denae knows how to build layers on their characters. For characters that are fundamentally messed up, to put it politely, the author doesn’t make them caricatures. Instead, these characters are fully formed with their own unique traits and motivations.

One major aspect I want to give compliment to is the author’s attention to detail with Jude and the Deaf community. Abrianna Denae does an excellent job showcasing different aspects and how people relate, or don’t relate, in a community. Jude’s character really stood out and I loved the way the author didn’t minimize his deafness, but weaved it in fully.

The author’s ability to embrace characters completely leads to the beauty of the relationships they create. To add another person to an already existing polyamorous relationship could have gone so badly. Instead, Abrianna Denae took the time to approach it carefully, showing the individual character’s reactions and thoughts. It all came together so perfectly.

The story held me emotionally captive. I needed to know what was going to happen next. It’s a brilliant execution of darkness, sprinkled with the love of these characters. They may love, but they don’t mind spilling blood as they go—exactly what I love reading.

5 stars for an emotionally captivating, twisted, and intriguing read.

All I Survive is the third book in the All's Fair series. Tennet, Hollis and Roman have established themselves pretty well in their roles as a threesome but one man comes along that all three want and changes up the dynamics. Jude is a student at the university with Roman and is hired to be the tutor for Tennet's son. Jude sees parts of himself in Tennet and is happy to see he is not alone.

This story continues the plotline of the Amato family and finding who is coming after them. But, at the heart of the story is these four men. I think that is one of the things I like best about this author. We get lots of dark, lots of fun, lots of intrigue. But what we get the most of is the romance and story between the main MCs. Tennet, Hollis, and Roman are constantly working to see to the needs and wants of each other, they are always looking for ways to show their love. Jude is able to fit right in like he was there all along. Okay, so there are a few bumps as all good love stories will but the reason it works is because they all do fit.

This is a dark romance and there are trigger warnings. But, if you look at them like you would all the dessert on a buffet just jump right in and go for it. If that is not you, please mind the trigger warnings listed in the book. Please also note, this is not a stand alone. You need to read this series in order and there are two books before this one. However, this series is a ton of fun and I totally recommend you read it!

All I survive is all I survived! It's been one hell of a journey! Amazing! Exceptional! Jarring! I love the sharp edges of Abriana's writing style, the precise, well thought out storylines; the way their words cut on a soul deep level.; the twisted complexity of their characters who are as far from socially acceptable molds and as close to embodied madness as possible. Their books have to be experienced not explained. You will either hate it or fall in love with their world building - there is no in between here. The current story is a thrilling continuation of the previous one and ads a new lover into Holis, Tennant and Roman's dynamic - Jude. Christian and his husband Carter as well as all the members in the inner circle of the Amato family are determined to paint the streets of their city blood red to find the traitor, hiding in their midst. Betrayal, sacrifices, revelations and astonishing examples of fierce loyalty are woven together, leading to a breathtaking finale. Nobody is suitable to live and survive in this kind of lifestyle, but the only way out is death.

Thank you for the ARC, I voluntarily give this an honest review. Tennant maybe a psycho but there is just something about Hollis that flips all the switches when it it comes to family. There is about to be so much pain brought on if that one was telling the truth of a rat in the house, which now makes me wonder just who this one will be, because man..Carter just nearly destroyed me in book one. When Leandro newest interest brings about Jude a spark is inflamed but was it enough for more then a plaything or was there more? Roman, Hollis and Tennant adding someone new to play with which hot. What was the connection between what was going on in the family and Jude. Oh my this maybe the hottest kidnapping series duo ever.
yep sign me right on up because I can't wait for the front row seat when it comes to Doc and his daddy.

This is the third story in the series and I love this story. I can’t say it’s my favorite since the series is consistent and I have enjoyed each. They are on my reread list. This series is best read in order.
This centers really on four. Tennant and Hollis have a unique relationship. They are complete but previously added the bratty Roman. Now they are faced with a major decision. What sort of man is Jude and where does he fit into their lives. This foursome is so smoothly put in place. The story behind the turmoil going on keeps the relationships and the daily life of the Amatos group edgy. I really enjoyed how Jude’s dad, cousins and other relatives were handled. This is a very well written dark story. I’m more than anxious to see what is next.

Dark and gritty

Roman, Tennant and Hollis are still working hard to settle into their relationship.
Roman is also dealing with stepping into his father's footsteps and being in charge of the family.
There's danger and betrayal which has them all on edge.
When Jude appears he's immediately viewed through a lens of distrust.
I really hated his family and their horrible treatment of him simply due to his disability.
All four of them struggle to find a way forward to a cohesive relationship but eventually they get there.
Events are ramping up to a deadly end and I just want more.

All I Survive is an emotionally powerful read. It's raw, honest, and beautifully written, a story about survival, trauma, and the difficult path toward healing. The characters are deeply flawed in the most human way, and I found myself rooting for them through every painful and tender moment.
Abrianna Denae has a gift for capturing emotion on the page, nothing feels forced or overly dramatized. Instead, it’s real and gut-wrenching, with moments of hope that shine all the brighter because of the darkness they emerge from. If you’re looking for a book that digs deep and lingers in your heart, this one is worth every page.

I really agree with the author, this book was the best. I absolutely love the first one but I think I love this one more. Roman is such a pleasure to read! Actually, all 4 of them are. I thought Jude was a great addition even though I didn’t expect it. I think that’s what I like here. I can’t really anticipate what will happen. I made sure to go into these blind. I hope to get more of Roman, Tennant, Jude and Hollis in the other series. I was smiling a lot of the time whenever they were bonding with each other. I wouldn’t say the spiciness runs the story at all, but it is there, and it never took away from the story either. So, I say it’s a good read. All 3 of the books in the series.

Wow!!!!! The third book in the All's Fair series is just.....everything 🤗 I was unsure of how I felt about having a fourth added to Roman, Hollis & Ten's relationship but it was just beautiful. Yes, I said beautiful, there's just no other way to describe what Abri has created with these four men. I absolutely loved seeing all the different sides of them. We seen a lot in the last book but this is just so much more 💜 And catching up with the rest of the Family is just as amazing. The snippets & teasers of what's to come with this group 😏😏😏😏 I can't wait Abri

I barely Survived

This book made me emotional. I was seriously in my feels a lot. I wanted to call out of work for a few days so I could focus solely on this book and work. Unfortunately my bank account said that was not an option.

I absolutely loved this book. At first I wasn't sure how a fourth was going to fit but Jude fit so beautiful. It wad like he was always ment to be there. I loved all the drama minus what happened to Enzo.

This world need needs to continue forever

was this really necessary??

Not sure this one works. The weakest of the series. The introduction of Jude into the triangle of Tennant, Hollis and Roman just doesn’t seem to gel.

We’re constantly told that they see something in him that isn’t ‘normal’ that he’s more like a Tennant and Leandro but unlike them, as readers it’s made not clear to us.

This book leaves me confused and I feel like it was unnecessary to mess with the relationship forged in the last book.
