Grumpy bar owner Rock has always been secretly obsessed with his best friend and business partner, Emily. He's used to hiding his love for her, even if it's quietly tormented him for years. Then one day Emily needs a temporary place to stay, and Rock refuses to let her sleep anywhere but his bed— while, of course, he takes the couch. But what starts out as a friendly favor will soon push these best friends to confront their true feelings... and force them to decide whether they're willing to risk it all for a chance at real love.
Hey lovely, If you love a grumpy protective hero, a joyful curvy heroine, a fake relationship between best friends, and steamy sweetness, you're in luck. Happily ever after guaranteed. xo, Kate
This book was going to be on my read once never again list. The H dated one of the heroine’s best friend while he’s secretly in love with her. That’s just too icky for me. Like, you’re sleeping with your friend’s leftover 🤮 no thanks. The story was okay but that ruined it for me

But to me it’s soured by the fact that he’s loved her since high school and then dated her friend. 🥲 They make it more an issue about the fact that he’s a jerk to the friend when they broke up instead of being jealous or mad that he did that? I was hoping he assured her about it, or when the friend says she’s never been his apartment that maybe they never slept together, but nothing was addressed. I wanted more explanation or clarification or really just that it never happened.
Some parts were cute like the neon signs, etc! So overall, it wasn’t my favorite but others may like it!

"Extra Wild" is like that comforting cup of coffee you crave on a lazy Sunday morning. Rock, the grumpy bar owner harboring a secret crush on his best friend Emily, sets the stage for a classic tale of unrequited love finally coming to a head. Their dynamic is familiar yet endearing, as Rock grapples with his feelings while trying to maintain their friendship. Kate Hunt spins a tale that's equal parts heartwarming and frustrating, as you root for these two to realize what's been right in front of them all along. It's a sweet, light-hearted read that reminds you of the complexities of love and friendship, and it's perfect for those moments when you just want to lose yourself in a feel-good romance.
I absolutely loved this book. It had all the feel good moments and more in it. Rock and Emily were best friends that ended in a happily ever after. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read
