Saving Scarlet

Rate this book
Scarlet Jenkins
I've finally learned my lesson.
All it took was being abused and kidnapped.
I'm done with men.
I'm focused on is myself and trying to survive the painful memories of what happened.
The only problem is, there's a mafia boss who thinks he's in charge of me, threatening to discipline me if I don't obey his rules.
I shouldn't like his threats or him.
But it seems like every time I turn around, he's showing me a different side of what I expect from him.
I'm just not so sure I can trust him. Or anyone for that matter.

Killian Lachlan
All it took was one look at Scarlet to know she's someone special.
She's a lost little girl in need of love and protection.
I can give her all of that and more, including the discipline and structure she so desperately needs.
If only she would stop fighting me every step of the way.
I'll do whatever it takes to make her mine.
Even if I have to tie her to the bed for the rest of her life.
I'm a man with few boundaries, and when it comes to her, I have none.

Daddy little girl

The story is interesting but just not my kink! It’s 4 because the story pulls you in but outside of that 2 plus, because the girls just no- noooo it takes baby talk to the next level by actually acting like a little while getting railed by mafia daddies. Ugh but still interesting story outside the FMCs.

I really loved this book, but there’s a few plot mistakes.

Wow what can I say, except that I loved it. There are some really funny parts in the book, and I loved their characters, especially Killian’s. He’s domineering but oh so caring.

Killian is Declan’s second in command, and also a daddy. When they rescue Scarlet from her ex boyfriend Ivan, she’s underweight and injured. Killian wants her, but Scarlet resists as she doesn’t trust them as they are in the mafia. He gradually builds her trust in him and he’s so sweet with her as she’s traumatised.

So where did it go wrong. The first major annoyance I have with this book, is the sex scenes. The first time they do it, Killian just has to be inside her, and of course he’s huge, (🥱) and there’s no foreplay. OUCH. Then there’s the an*l sex. He’s apparently thrusting really hard and it’s amazing. 🤦‍♀️ No it wouldn’t be amazing! It would be really really painful.

Scarlett is badly injured by her ex boyfriend Ivan, but it doesn’t say what injuries. She’s so traumatised that she has nightmares and can’t eat, but she doesn’t need counselling. (?) hmm.

Every threat against them are resolved really fast and it’s so disappointing. Apart from four men who are never sorted out and just disappear, never to be mentioned again. Who was their enemy? We never get an answer to who is the leader.

Aside from the complaints above I did still really enjoy it. I just wish the sex scenes were written a lot better, and with more care.

I was so excited for Killian and Scarlets book and it did not disappoint. I’m absolutely loving this mafia daddies series.
This book was amazing. My heart hurt for Scarlet. I love how strong she was though and so fierce.

Killian is a swoon worthy daddy. Definitely one of my favorites, and the mouth on him..omg 😍🥵

𝕐𝕠𝕦. 𝔸𝕣𝕖. 𝕄𝕚𝕟𝕖.

I loved the plot and all of the characters. I love seeing some of the daddies from the other books as well! The spice was hot. Also, the healing in this book was beautiful.

Amazing read. I can’t wait for the next! I definitely recommend this series! 🤍🤍

This book was a lot of fun! I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did. Cali and Scarlet together are trouble in all the best ways.

Kate did a great job combining the funny moments with the darker Irish Mafia themes and the DDlg elements.

I've been excited for Bashie's book but now I also have a soft for Patrick...read the book, you'll understand.

And I loved the crossover from familiar "faces" from the Daddies of the Shadows series....Kate never leaves her loyal readers hanging, old friends pop up often.

So excited to continue this series, this book was a perfect addition!

These mafia Daddies are everything! Declan really set the bar and Killian came smashing through. He’s everything and then some. Typical overprotective and possessive daddy with the darkness added really makes this series. Scarlet is one lucky lady to have Killian so head over heels for her, & so patient while she finds herself. The Shadow Daddies cameos make me so happy! Miss those guys. Kats absolutely writes the best daddies out there. Can’t wait for Bash’s story!

Saving Scarlet is the second installment in the Syndicated Kings series penned by Kate Oliver. In it she chronicles the age-play and age-gap romance between Scarlet Jenkins and Killian Lachlan. She is the sister of Tally, the wife of the Don of the Irish mob, Declan Gilroy. Scarlet was kidnapped by Ivan Petrov, the head of a Russia Bratva cell. Ivan physically and emotionally abused her. Killian, the second in command rescues Scarlet. Despite her wounds and bruises, he was smitten with her and knew that she would be his Lg. In the rescue, Ivan is killed. However a band of followers go AWOL as they attempt to finalize Ivan’s plans against the Irish Mafia. Will they be successful? Can Killian and his band of brothers keep Scarlet and her sister safe? To find out what unfolds, you must read this book.

I applaud Ms. Oliver in her skill at drawing her readers into her book. She does so through her multi-dimensional primary and secondary characters. I enjoyed her skill with descriptive language especially the scenes wherein she captures the lead characters interactions with each other. I like how she uses her secondary characters that allows readers to see the tight-knit unit of this Irish Mafia family.

It was cute, not my favorite, maybe I wasn’t in the mood but I was hoping for this book and it simply didn’t fulfill me. It just wasn’t for me. I did love the possessiveness of the MMC and the way he just doesn’t give up, but the hole story I don’t know, it just was meh. Did like the characters and the way the interact with each other that is way I give it 3 stars.

cute Little brat

Second book in the series and I loved it. Scar was finally reached and her Daddy decided from jump that she would be his. Despite how much she wanted to avoid another "gangster " she just couldn't resist. Loved that her and her sister got to spend time in this story and they made their Daddys crazy. Can't wait for the 3rd one when their favorite friend Bash finds a Little.

I liked this one better than the first. In this one, you understand a little more about Scarlet and her background and why she likes the DDLG lifestyle. After her experience dating (and being abused by) a Russian mobster, she reasonably was a little hesitant to give Killian a chance. But seeing them come together was nice.

“Well, let’s see. My favorite color is scarlet red.” That makes me smile. “Oh yeah, since when?” “Since I met you, baby. That will forever be my favorite color. Everything about you is my favorite.”

Wasn't as good as the previous book, but still cute and funny. The spice was just not it... I mean, their first time was missionary, without any foreplay and my boy was packing 😬

I am absolutely obsessed!! Firstly, Cheetos are the best snack ever and I completely agree with Scarlett on that one. Secondly, I freaking love how protective Killian is of her and how he helps her through her trauma. The banter between them is also hilarious and it’s just, all around, an amazing story!!

I am MADLY in LOVE with Killian!

This man has stolen my heart. He has locked it up and won’t release it. I think Killian is my all time favorite Book Boyfriend Ever! Like, no joke. Is there a mystical being out there who can turn him into a real life man for me? I can’t get enough of him. He’s perfection and oh so HOT 🥵! Warning: Reading this book may involve your heart being forever left in the pages. *Sigh* He’s so dreamy. P.S. Scarlet is pretty awesome too, but Killian? *Swoon* 🥰

This is my opinion and a pet peeve, you can right Daddy dom stories and have a strong female character who doesn't act like a preteen. Killian and his group and the mob/bratva/mafia action was written really well. Then there's Scarlett. She's been put through the wringer with her former lover. Killian rescues her for her sister who's married to his best friend. She wakes up angry, scared and standing up for herself and that last a few days. Then the preteen mentality comes out & the storyline kind of goes off the rails in this regard. She's traumatized and beaten but has no aversion to getting together - roughly with Killian. Then there's the whole "I'll take care of everything you need" and there's no foreplay or taking care of her until after. I get the dominant trait the author was going for but it came across as all wrong. There was no caring and helping her through any of her trauma. As for the preteen mentality, Scarlett and her sister can interact as adults with each other but with the guys, the preteen mentality along with the actions and words. It seemed she had a split personality and all I could visualize was valley girl.

Where do I start? Kate Oliver has become one of my favorite authors who writes Daddy books. Her stories she tells are so well written, you can imagine yourself in them in some way! In this story, we get Cali's sister, Scarlet. She was kidnapped by her ex mafia boyfriend and hurt both physically and mentally. Killian rushes to save her and knows immediately that she is his. But Scarlet is very closed off, especially to men in the mafia. My heart ached for her as she struggled but Killian was so patient with her. He is determined to break down the walls around her heart. Little by little, the walls develop cracks but there is still danger coming for her and for Cali. Can Killian, Declan and the rest of the Irish guys keep the girls safe or will a traitor among them steal them away? The little twist towards the end had me cheering as I never saw that coming. And getting to see the guys from Daddies of the Shadows was the cherry on top! I loved this story so much and I can't wait for the next book that Kate puts out!

Scarlet and Killian’s story is a captivating tale of healing, love, and determination. Scarlet has a history of bad choices in men, and her last relationship was not just toxic—it was deadly. After being rescued from that nightmare, she swore off men entirely. But there’s one complication: the sexy, determined man who saved her has no intention of letting her go.

Killian fell for Scarlet before he even met her. When his best friend fell in love with her sister, and they found themselves tasked with rescuing Scarlet from her abusive boyfriend’s clutches, Killian was immediately intrigued. During the mission, he was responsible for getting her to safety, and the moment he laid eyes on her, he knew she was the one for him.

Scarlet struggles to trust again, and Killian is running out of patience trying to convince her of what he already knows—they’re meant to be together. This story is an emotional and gripping journey as Killian fights to earn Scarlet’s trust and prove that love can heal even the deepest wounds.

Take a swim with the fishes!

Kate Oliver is consistent with her writing. Saving Scarlet is yet another amazing book. This story picks up at the end of Corrupting Calie. Scarlet, Cali's sister, catches the eye of Killian. After the trauma of being kidnapped, she understandably wants nothing to do with Killian, but he is persistent and eventually gains her trust. Cali and Scarlet sure know how to run circles around their daddy's. Scarlet is a middle, so depending on your own preferences, this may or may not be your favorite Kate Oliver book. At first, when I started reading this series, I was a little concerned because mafia usually means dark. This version of the mafia is rather light. The guys are OTT possessive and do unalive people, but it's not grafic and far more of the story is spent one the mmc/fmc relationship building. Kate does a great job of describing the caring nature of the rough gruff daddy.

It was obvious whose story was coming next after Declan and Cali from the moment they started to try to rescue Scarlet. Killian clearly had a thing for her...and once one of these men has a thing for these girls. That's it. Fight it all you want, but your his baby girl (oh if only this were reality).

Scarlet had every right to be afraid though. She was literally captured by the mafia. And just cause a different mafia rescues you, that doesn't mean you just forgive and forget. In my opinion, Scarlet forgave and forgot a little too quickly.

Killian was over the top...I wish he would have let her breath a little more after being rescued. Like 4 days after, their f*cking and professing love. A bit quick imo.

I liked the traitor element, upping the stakes and all. If it had been Patrick, I would have been SO MAD. We don't know him super well, but I already like him (I want him to end up with Declan, Ronan, and Bash's sister...but I don't think we're getting that book).

3/5 stars. It was good, but not as good as Declan and Cali. Excited for Bash's story next!

Scarlet

TW: k!dnapping, tort*re, bl**d, g*re

I was hoping for a very very very slow burn with this one and while it was longer than I honestly expected given the other books it was still fast. She had just been rescued from being k!dnapped by her ex and while she still had reservations it seemed quick.
Scarlet was fun though but it did seem over the top every time she said she was unlovable just because often these types don’t shout it over and over. They more show it and push and push which she did a bit.
Still enjoyed the story and I liked how he was determined to show her love and care and he was trying to go slow.

Tropes: touch her and d!e, he fell first, helped save her life, hurt/comfort, she feels unworthy, she hated him at first(but not true enemies to lovers- cuz he liked her)

Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Steam: 🔥🔥
Sweetness: 💗💗💗

Saving Scarlet

Scarlet is a sweet girl who went through a horrible situation and has sworn off men. Same doesn’t trust her self to make good choices regarding her dating life. It takes a lot to put her trust in the men who swears to protect her!

Killian is part of the mafia, but him and his brothers don’t hurt or kill women and kids. So when he finds another group with a leader who has kidnapped a woman they do everything to take him down. It isn’t long till they want retaliation!

This book was so good! First I loved Scarlets relationship with her sister! And the way she slowly but surely started trusting Killian and his brothers was so sweet! This whole series has me so excited and I can wait to read the rest!

I’m a huge lover of Mafia stories and when it’s Irish Mafia, all bets are off! This story made me laugh and cry and I fell in love with Killian and Scarlett. She is so funny, delightful, beautiful and certainly gives Killian a run for his money! Scarlett believes that no one, except for her sister, can ever really love her. But when she meets Killian, she knows there is something special about him. He decides to break down her barriers and show her that she is definitely worthy of love. Killian will do anything to protect her and wants to be her Daddy, but can Scarlett trust and believe in him? These two have such sizzling chemistry and I adored their witty banter. A definite must read for all!

Killian Lachlan is the second in command to the Irish mafia. When the bosses wife’s sister, Scarlet, was kidnapped by the Russians, Killian makes it his personal mission to get her back. When Scarlet is rescued and back at the compound, all she wants to do is go home and back to her life with her sister. When that isn’t an option she pushes back and becomes such a little brat. A brat that Killian can’t wait to punish. He is her Daddy now, he will kill anyone who tries to hurt her. He will lay his life down as long as she is happy and safe. It isn’t easy to convince Scarlet though, all she wants is a daddy but can’t she trust the one man who swears he won’t let her down.

Great read. Killian is such a good man, yes even in the mafia he proves he can be a very good daddy.

Saving Scarlet is book 2 in the syndicate kings series. Scarlet sister to Cali who we meet in book 1 is kidnapped and it’s up to the Irish mafia to save her. Killian is second in command and when he first sees Scarlet all he wants to do is claim her for himself. Scarlet is so down on herself being she has been left her whole life by everyone except her sister. This story will really have you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what’s going to happen next. The story has suspense. You will feel the love, angry and hurt in this one. I know I for sure felt it. I do recommend you read book 1 to get familiar with the characters. Will Scarlet overcome her fears and scars and trust as gangster?? Will Killian get what he wants? A++++ Kate.

Saving Scarlet is the second book of the Syndicate Kings series of interconnected standalones. I flew through this book and read it in one sitting. I love Scarlet and her sassiness and Killian and his protectiveness of her. I loved everything about this book from the shenanigans that Cali and Scarlet got up to, the way all the guys look out for each other and the girls, and the cameos from the Daddies of the Shadows and their girls. I think I might possibly love this Scarlet and Killian more than Cali and Declan! I can’t wait for more of this series!

Killian is part of the mafia, known to be ruthless and deadly, there is one thing this Syndicate does not mess with and that is women and children. When they learn that Scarlet has been kidnapped by another Syndicate they rescue her. War be damned.

Scarlet, after being kidnapped was saved by Killian and the rest of the mafia. Killian shows her that even though he is in the mafia, he is still a good guy. Even if he doesn't want to eat cheetos with her.

This book is just perfect! Action, humor, steamy steamy scenes!! I devoured this book and cannot wait for the next one! I loved seeing the inner workings of so called hardened mafia guys and it really made me want to eat some cheetos 😋

Delightful and fun book!

Looking for a sexy alpha protective Daddy turning into a marshmallow over a stubborn adorable little? Saving Scarlett by Kate Oliver definitely fits the bill. Plus you get intriguing side characters, a dramatic storyline and spicy romance. This is the second book in the Syndicate Kings series. And while it has all the delights of Ms. Oliver's other Daddy series, this one offers more gritty storylines and heroines who are more independent which may be a preference for some folks. No matter what kind of Daddy romance younderstand, Kate Oliver has the book for you and I am so glad her imagination continues to flow.

This is not the Godfather type of mafia. This is also not the typical "fluffy" Daddy/Little girl book either. It is a wonderful mix of the two. Saving Scarlet had me hooked from the very beginning. From the moment Killian picked Scarlet up and promised she would be ok. Scarlet does not want a man, not after the kidnapping. They cannot be trusted and she will be every bit the b***** brat she needs to be to prove that. She just wasn't expecting Killian to have so much patience. There is an HEA but it doesn't happen easily.
There is danger and a dark side to this story but it add to the overall appeal of it.
