Al Decker and his Marine Raider unit are put aboard Bull Shark and will go ashore to locate and rescue the Australian civilians. However, both submarines are unaware that they’re sailing into a large and complex spider’s web… a web spun from treachery, deceit and deadly intent. Now the race is on… can the boats and Decker’s men get ashore and get off again before The Sensei can close his trap and seal their fates? Or will they all be squeezed to death in the iron grip of Hirohito’s lust for power?

When I was in the service, I was stationed at Groton Conn, near the US submarine base, I had the opportunity of being able to tour one and see them go in and out of port daily. I personally would not like to serve on one, but enjoy reading about them.
Lots of turncoats in this one! The story got a little long with the back and forth strategy musings of the Japanese/German spy and the Bull Shark officers (on their respective vessels). They figured out what each other was going to do. Also even though they were sure the mission was a trap, they went anyway. There were a noticeable typos in this one too. Lastly, describing a campfire among pine trees in the Solomon Islands is patently wrong. On rain forests there!
Thrilling saga of Anvil Art Turner, his crew and the Marine raiders being sent out to retrieve civilians behind Japanese lines . It’s a trap laid by the Sensi with aid freed m an Australian deserter… but can it be countered by the crew of the Bull Shark?
I like a lot the details on submarine warfare, how American submariners work, how the navy was working at the time, lots of details of operations at main war enforce,at same time the history of Art and his crew and how they work together to prevail,I want more please, thank you so much for ur very interesting war history
The action in the book left me unable to put it down! The detail given to the actual battles are on par with the best. I have several friends who are amateur sub enthusiasts who have already received my more than positive recommendation. Great job, Scott!

Major Decker's Raiders, betrayals, new shipmates, island rescues, and submarine fighting in two oceans.....great stories! Even Joan Turner has a part in the action!
I hate to see this series come to an end. It was really a barnburner. He did give some hope that there may be more. I love Ww2 Pacific war history and his books make it highly interesting. He's got 2 more series along those lines, so I will be reading them.
Out of the Frying Pan is the latest in the Art Turner Bull Shark series. There are good guys and bad guys in this episode and the story does not disappoint!
Again, Scott has brought us into the middle of a vibrant battle and had us join the team. I am sorry to see my friends go. I do hope art and Joan get back together safely.
Bull Shark is a new type of submarine commissioned early 1942 A stronger better equipped submarine Art Turner is an excellent captain bold in action Hope you enjoy all seven books in the series
Wow. Great book. It takes guts to be in a sardine can. 54 boats never made it back. Cook described the action and you actually felt you were in those boats, can't wait for the next books.
All seven books in this series has been fun to read. So much happens in a short period of time a little over the top but but fiction can be enjoyed that way.
Read the entire series! Want more, great read could not put it down! Readied start with the first book and read each one in order. Worth your time and money!
Overall mediocre. Too much navy slang...not understandable. Too much macho. Needed more action, much less dialog Characters were over and over described...annoying.
