An assignment covering the Houston Snowhawks is a rookie sports journalists’ literal dream come true. There’s only one problem— My new position depends on me getting the scoop on Hawks’ defenseman Kai Mita.
Kai leads the team in suspensions, drama, and looking good shirtless.
He also doesn’t talk to the press. Ever. Then a golden opportunity comes along, and I’m not about to pass it.
My career is on thin ice. My heart is in the penalty box.
And I’m about to shoot my shot.
Get ready for a steamy sports series hot enough to melt the ice! Puck Me Harder is a fast-paced hockey romance featuring a bad boy and the journalist determined to get the story and the man.
Regina Wade specializes in sizzling-hot happily-ever-afters. Her sweet and spicy quickies are packed with OTT alpha males and fun, feisty heroines. Regina is obsessed with dark chocolate, organic coffee, and her rescue hamster, Waffles
TROPES: ~hockey player x sports reporter ~instalove ~age gap ~size difference
I loved this novella. It's extremely well written- I'm a huge fan of Regina's works! I was so excited to see that it was a hockey romance. She tackled that idea very well.
Dakota (h) is a sports journalist who has to do a story on bad boy Kai. They meet and it gets spicy pretty quick!! He's beyond respectful, and she knows what she wants. Will she do the story, or will she fall for him? Loved it!!
SAFETY: Virgin/celibate?: virgin heroine, not a manwhore H OM/OW?: no Cheating/sharing?: no Kinks: praise, toys, dry humping HEA? yes!
Puck Me Harder is the first book in the Snowhawks series. This series centers around an NHL hockey team named the Houston Snowhawks' with a training facility named "The Nest". This story is about Dakota O'Connor, a sports reporter at The Houston Chronicle, and Kai Mita, the star defenseman of the team. Dakota grew up with a single father and older brothers, and also a love of sports which grew into reporting on them. Kai is originally from New Zealand, and he is unmatched in the league with the ability to read plays and guess positions, making him the best. This is an OTT, insta-lust, power struggle, romance between Dakota and Kai who are both committed to their professions as they try to figure out if they can be committed to each other. So usually I quite enjoy Regina Wade but this book was not hitting the net, so to say. It felt off, rushed, the story was disjointed and hopped around, Dakota I ended up not really liking as she was doing things that were way over the line of being a woman sports reporter, and there was a huge irritation with deciding on whether Dakota friend and the photographer was named Sofie or Sofia, and this went through the whole book. So for me this was not the story I have read by the author.
Kai is a professional NHL player and has kind of a bad boy reputation, because he loves to fight on and off the ice. Dakota is a sports journalist and her first huge assignment is a story about the Snow hawks. When Kai sees Dakota he is instantly smitten and he just knows he must get to know her better. Instalove, sweet, steamy, romantic ,OTT and safe with a sweet HEA and no drama😍😍😍😍

Dakota is finally getting her shot at writing more than a fluff piece for the Houston Chronicle, getting to cover a story on the famous Hockey Team the Snowhawks and being permitted an all-access pass to see inside the new training Village. Her first interview is with the Bad Boy Defense man Kai, a man that has quite the reputation according to the tabloids anyway and when the first interaction with him has him requesting a kiss for the interview she starts to believe his press. Could there be more to Kai than what he is showing her, and will she give him the chance to prove that the tabloids cant be trusted?
Kai is only interested in the game he loves and that is ice hockey, he is well aware of the reputation the tabloids have gifted him and in a way it easier to hide behind what has already been written, it give him the chance to keep his distance and protect his teammates from the same scrutiny that he has suffered. But when he is introduced to Dakota, she is the one journalist that has surprised him and makes him want more than he has ever wanted before, but has he lost his chance at making her his or will she give him the chance to prove that everything that is written isn’t always true?
This was a sweet quick read that had me hoping for that they could find there way to there happily ever after, there were a few twists and turns and I felt there was more of a story to be written and could have been a bit longer. Still entertaining insta love read 4*.
I really loved this book and thoroughly enjoyed the interaction between the main characters, Dakota O’Conner and Kai Mita. The attraction to each other was pretty instantaneous and a strong pull for both of them, but I loved how they interacted with each other when Dakota was supposed to be interviewing him and when he says the fee is a kiss, I loved how he was very protective of all the women. I particularly enjoyed the meeting between the owner of the Snowhawks ice hockey team, Mike Dominican and Dakota when she was interviewing for the job of PR manager and how she told him how his team was just a bunch of players and they weren’t a team, especially pulling out details of what each player was doing instead of what they should have been doing. There is a happy ending for Dakota and Kai.

This is a steamy fluffy(yes there is fluff in there between the lines) fast paced fast read story. I loved loooooooved Kai and Dacota so much. He is a bad boy at first glance but oh boy he is an alpha man but combined with a big hug bear. He falls first and hard and not ashamed for that no problem showing it at all in any and every way and at all places and circumstances. She , is a feisty sassy and strong woman that knows what she wants , when she wants it and how. I love her for been in par with him and doesn't let him intimidate her. I just loved their story and I want to see more of them and more of the rest of the team...

What happens when you take a sassy, independent sports reported and the star defenseman, resident bad boy of the NHL. A hot as sin hockey romance.
Dakota and Kai heated up the pages with their attraction and banter, which in their case was straight up foreplay.
So much to love about this story. He falls first because let’s face it, he is a big softy under his grumpy exterior. Dakota is feisty, looking to get her own hockey column, so she takes on the challenge of getting an interview with Kai….who never does interviews.
Even though it was a quick read, absolutely loved it!.

Dakota is a journalist that was assigned to cover the Snowhawks. The interview she wants to get with Kai, a defensive player who is known for trouble, is not what she expected.
Kai does not talk to the press, he also takes protecting his teammates, on and off the ice, seriously. His meeting with Dakota, turns his world upside down and ignites a fire that can melt the ice.
Good fast read that is perfect afternoon escape.

Kia Mita is the resident bad boy of the Houston Snowhawks Hockey team. Dakota is sent their by her boss to get a story, it could mean her job if she does not. What she does not plan on is there is more to Kia than meets the eye. He just might not be what the tabloids make him out to be.
This hot hockey player is coming on strong, what is a girl to do? Dig for a story or fall for the guy?.

This was a sweet short read. Kai is a pro hockey star and Dakota is a journalist looking for an interview. Kai is hockey’s bad boy and Dakota thinks she should stay away from him. After getting to know him she finds out the tabloids don’t always tell the whole story. Expect instalove, a sassy heroine and fun banter. Great read,.

This story was just so fun to read. The only problem is that it is too short. Still it has mostly everything á good story needs, except a bit longer and twisted storyline. Overall a good story and one very deserving of the fabulous four stars I am giving it here.

The author has given us a wonderful older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Kai and Dakota. The story keeps us turning the pages with instant connection, denial, opportunities and steam.

Dakota is there for an exclusive interview with Kai. There are challenges that need to be addressed. Attraction that is not possible to get the job done correctly. The player’s interview is the goal. No cliffhanger good read.

This was a fun romance that brings together Kai and Dakota. She needs a story on this bad boy hockey player and they both end up finding they're more than they expect. He brings the charm and she really has no choice but to fall for him ;P I loved how their romance came together :D
Dakota and Kai are fun and flirty. Their chemistry is quick, easy and dirty. The short story is easy to read. Hope we get stories for Sophie and some of the team.

A super spicy fast read. I wish it was longer. I want more with Dakota and Kai. I really loved this book and can’t wait to read more from this author. Happy reading
I absolutely loved the newest book by the amazing Regina Wade. Dakota and Kai instantly connect their story, which was full of passion and gave us the sweetest ending. I can't wait for more from these incredible characters.
I love a good short story sometimes, and this is a good one. I love that she took charge in the beginning, telling him what he could or couldn't do. He was sure to follow the rules until she threw them all out.
I liked the premise of the story, sports reporter and star NHL player involved, but the pace felt off to me. Parts of the story felt rushed and there were some distracting edit errors that pulled me out of the story. It was an okay quick read, but certainly not on my to be read again list.
Cute quick read, sometimes short novellas don’t have enough time to allow the author to develop the characters or develop an interest in the characters an both occurred here.
