Chae-a Han and Yunsu Park may be perfect angels at church, but Chae-a is really a foul-mouthed ex-convict, and Yunsu is… a vampire? When Yunsu blackmails Chae-a with a murder she didn’t commit, she begins searching for ways to escape the situation until the perfect opportunity presents itself. With Yunsu’s life now at her mercy, the two begin a life-or-death game of cat and mouse, only to find themselves falling deeper and deeper into each other’s traps...

Woah! It’s been a while since I’ve been this invested in a story! Chae-a Han and Yunsu Park....god, they were made for each other! They’re the only couple in a long time that I absolutely refuse to ship with anyone else.
Neither of them knew how to love or be loved since they had never been in a situation like that before, but the way they worked it out between themselves was just fabulous. 😩✨ Yunsu is a character with questionable behavior, even toward Chae-a, but when that happens, she knows how to hold her ground, making him chase after her until he’s desperate. 🫣
And despite all of that, no one can deny the hot, fiery attraction between them. 🫠 You just keep wanting more while holding your breath...
Sure, the starting was a bit frustrating but it gets better with some patience.
The story and side characters weren't all that but.... Since this was a genuine enemies to lovers, im content ❣️
🕸️ Plus, the art just keeps getting better and better as you go further~🕸️
Are they toxic? Yes. Is it addicting? Yes. The art is incredible, the storyline has a good pace, and the characters are intriguing. You'll be in suspense up until the end.
EDIT: the final episodes dropped and O.M.G I could not be more satisfied with an ending. If this manhwa ever gets an English print edition, I am buying it up like tech bros bought Bitcoin. I would pay so much money to own a physical copy of this series.
not a book but since it's on goodreads so why not.
no one does slow burn better than them. Enemies to lovers? Naur, enemies AND lovers. I was gagged, seated and foaming at the mouth for the whole 191 chapters.
[27/7/24 update] just finished the side stories and the ending is literal perfection. I fear nothing is ever topping this
This could’ve been a 5 star read but it was unnecessarily dragged like crazy, and side characters were getting too much screen time. The author overstated the importance of side characters like Rose, like I dgaf tbh, infact I find her very annoying and didn’t want to know her backstory.
The main couple …. were sooooo annoying, the denial of feelings and misunderstandings goes on for 100+ chapters and it really pmo.
Apart from that, I still finished it, the beginning 40-60 chapters were really good, but it kinda derailed afterwards.
Me mantuvo tan entretenida that I don't even care.
I was terrified and creeped out. Came for the romance, left with an eerie feeling of men. The start was incredibly intriguing, but it progressively got bland, though still scary for me. If I was the female lead, I would just die on the first episode. He is not the standard. Might try to give it another chance though.
damn, i didn't think i would enjoy this that much SHDKS,, mainly because i'm usually not for toxic romances, or vampire romances in general. but man, this one is different (it definitely is still toxic for the most part, don't get me wrong)
i think the main reason why this works so well is that Chae-A is an extremely strong fl. she's actually smart and uses her brain, she's headstrong, even when she's dead terrified she'll still try and fight her way out of it in order to survive (even if resorting to less than ethical means). They have an extremely interesting dynamic, where they're both afraid of each other, but also both indebted to each other, so there's this weird sort of understanding between the two. They are enemies, but also allies. They hate each other, but they can't deny the tension between them. No matter how much they try and get rid of the other they end up inadvertently on the same side of the coin. it was just really interesting
This was so good. It started out as a psychological thriller but evolved into something much more layered. Han Chae-a (MC) and Park Yunsu (ML) have consistent characterisation and with how their relationship started out, their romance is definitely a slow burn, but it’s one of the most well written enemies to lovers stories I’ve read. HCA and PYS honestly have a toxic relationship and PYS is a yandere but the author did such a good job with developing them as complex characters and their relationship that everything makes sense and doesn’t feel forced. And I don’t know whether it was intentional or not but as the story developed the characters’ dynamics changed, the art style also improved a lot. PYS got so much hotter, like he wasn’t a sickly vampire any longer.
There are a lot of nuances in their relationship and though at first it seems like they’re always at each other’s throats, and to be fair, this aspect of their relationship doesn’t change for them, but as the plot progresses and they spend more time with each other, they learn (albeit not by choice) to trust each other and lean on each other in a world that didn’t teach them how to love. They’re similar in a lot of ways and the most significant is probably how neither of them know how to love the “right way”, which is why their relationship works - they’re not perfect people but they’re perfect for each other. HCA is the only one who can deal with someone like PYS and PYS is the only one who accepts HCA for who she is.
There’s a lot of symbolism in the story that shows readers how the characters are affected by their actions and past. For example, why both HCA and PYS go to church, and how it’s related to something in themselves that they feel is inadequate.
The supporting characters like Grimm, Rose, Leo and even Grey and Gemino were all well developed too and they’re all vital to the plot development so if the author hadn’t written them well, then the story wouldn’t have been as good as it is. The relationships between the main and supporting characters were written with intent and I especially liked how PYS and Grimm’s relationship evolved over time as Grimm grew up and realised how good PYS had raised him. Rose’s sacrifice was a sad event for some of the characters but it was the catalyst to bringing down the immortal Grey and it was also a chance for the author to show readers a little of Grey and Rose’s past. And shout-out to Leo because I think he's the unsung hero of the story. So many things would've been worse if he wasn't there and in fact even HCA and PYS wouldn't have their happy ending without Leo. He had lost Rose but at least he still had Grimm and the opportunity to die as a human instead of living eternally as a half blood.
For a story focusing on vampires, I liked how the author didn’t sugarcoat anything and showed how gruesome and cruel vampires can be towards humans. This is particularly true at the start when the author lays the foundation of the story and slowly builds the links between HCA and PYS, where PYS is constantly terrorising HCA and treating her like a toy to play with.
Besides that, I think ‘Trapped’ is such an apt title for this webtoon because there were so many times while I was reading where I thought “wow HCA and PYS have such an ill fated relationship” because they were truly entangled and there seemed to be no escape for either of them. Therefore, I liked how the story ended - after so long, they were finally free of each other, but this time around, HCA was willing to choose PYS. HCA had always been trapped with PYS due to PYS forcing her into undesirable situations, and she had hated herself for having romantic feelings for him, but in the end, she decided to accept them and save PYS from the verge of death. Also PYS telling HCA that he would always love her more than she loved him was such a satisfying moment, even though it was clear early on how obsessed he was with her.

oh my gosh!!! this was SO good. this was my third try at reading this bevause the first few chapters, the art style was HORRENDOUs. but after chapter like 10-15 i think it good WAYY better and actually turned out to be so beautiful 😭 this was a psychological thriller dark romance and ouuu my gosh it’s right underneath purple hyacinth. yunsu and chae-a han were SO messy like i don’t even know how this turned out to be a love story question mark 😭 and i could NOT believe some of the things he did but you know what they honestly match each other’s freak so they both have some issues. this also reminded me of dreaming freedom, although it definitely was a little darker. one of the best manwha oat???
HE FALL FIRST AND HE FALLS HARDER 🫵🏻🫵🏻 👊🏻💥👊🏻💥👊🏻💥
Review longue mais obligé.
Conclusion : meilleur ennemies to lovers jamais créée et indétrônable ————— Pour finir : « - Est-ce que tu essayes de me draguer là ? - Est-ce que c’est entrain de marcher ? » 🥲
I would like to grab every person I come across and tell them to read this manhwa. The art is amazing, the plot and the characters are so complex with amazing backstories all around. Both the people from the main couple are equally deranged. Their relationship was toxic from start to end BUT GOOD LORD, I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. THIS... THIS IS PEAK ENEMIES TO LOVERS. I don't think anything could top this story. This was so good. SO FREAKING GOOD.
Seperti kata salah satu cuitan di X, "Enemies to lovers bukan enemies to lovers; jika keduanya belum saling membenci sampai ingin membunuh satu sama lain."

I started reading cuz of the few scenes i’ve seen of this manhwa when scrolling intsa, and i regret not reading it sooner. The enemies to lovers is real here, there’s really no romance until much later into the story, and the romance that they have is toxic through and through, but i think the toxic romance is done really well, you kinda understand where this toxicity comes from. And the lack of trust between the characters is also justifiable in terms of the story and the characters. So overall really loved the manhwa. Though i will say i’m not a picky reader but i really really liked this one.
But if you’re looking for an enemies to lovers where there is romantic tension and attraction between the 2 mains basically from the moment they met or something like the 2 mains are from rival family’s and are supposed to hate each other but are have romantic attraction towards each other then this one isn’t for you. Most of the tension between them before they actually start liking each other is a predator and prey relationship or one betraying and lying to the other constantly and vise versa. And even when one of them realized they liked the other the progression is slow and doesn’t progress as there is little to no trust between them. anyhow so yeah if you’re looking for an enemies to lovers like the typical enemies to lovers in romantasy or romance novels then this isn’t for you.
absoluteeee masterclass in yearning and messy, toxic relationships; top 10 angst of all fawken time!!!!!!!!
the pacing is crazy and perfect: you're on the edge of your seat and you're just dying to know the next development before you can even catch your breath after being overwhelmed by the last plot twist.
chae-a and yunsu are so fucked up (/pos) and watching them trying to balance healing vs hurting each other is delicious. they're such a good toxic relationship (lol) and watching them become undone from each other is soooo delicious,, their past pain/hurt was shown so well and you know it's good when you want them to be together but also want them as far away from each other as possible 🥲
the side characters are also excellent -- father is such a satisfying villain imo. just delicious explorations of how father managed to fuck up so many people rip. also idgaf but rose get behind me -- talk about daddy issues LOL... if u get it u get it.
overall, such great, complex, fucked up relationships in general lol and explorations of familiar/romantic love, parent/sibling relationships, holding on to relationships that have long soured... what makes you stay even when all signs are telling you to leave?
