If you are into grizzly bear shifters, MAJOR insta love, fated mates, double virgin MCs, breeding kinks and short but spicy novellas then this is the book for you - but unfortunately I wasn’t as thrilled with it.

Although 5 stars to that dedication because I’m more curious about what went on that weekend in the cabin than anything.

This book was giving too much insta love for me. In a 90-ish page novel it was way too over the top. The man’s skills for being a virgin were unrealistic and also over the top.

I did enjoy the grizzly bear shifter part though - I’ve never read a non-wolf shifter book and was intrigued. Maybe if this was a longer, full novel that was more developed it would of had more potential.

It was ok for me. I did like that they banged while he was sort of in bear form. That was pretty cool.

Tara (virgin) was coerced into accepting a marriage proposal from some loser, but on her wedding day she took off into the mountains, where a snowstorm promptly hit, and she wrecked her car. Luckily for her, a bear comes out of the woods and looks like he's about to gobble her up, but instead turns into a giant naked man!!!
Leo (bear shifter) is so excited to find his mate!!! It doesn't take much convincing to bring his wrecked girl back to his cabin. Did I mention that he's carrying her around while buck ass naked? Anyway - our girl Tara is totes onboard with his shifter form because she'd already heard about it from TMZ (ok, maybe not TMZ, but close enough).

Best part is he was in the middle of transforming and they had sex. I'm cool with that.

Short & Sweet

This book delivers all the feels from the classic damsel in distress to the swoon-worthy shifter finding his mate, it's packed with all the elements we adore. While some parts feel a bit rushed, the overall experience is definitely worth diving into, especially if you're craving a short, sweet escape into romance.

Tara’s mother is forcing her to get married, she has harassed her for months to marry her friend’s son, David. She wants to retire to Argentina and can’t leave until Tara is out of the house, hence the hurry to marry her off. But Tara is having second, third, and fourth thoughts. She does not want to marry David. She is feeling incredibly restless and is losing her mind, thankfully her sister agrees to distract everyone so Tara can run away. She takes her sister’s car and starts driving. A huge snowstorm hits and she has an accident.
Leo and his two brothers live on a huge piece of property in the mountains of Montana, they are all bear shifters. He’s ready for his mate but hasn’t found her yet, his brothers like giving him a hard time about it. Wanting away from them he lets his bear out and goes wandering. He comes upon Tara who is trying to save herself from the accident, it’s freezing and she’s still wearing her wedding dress and has cut the bridge of her nose open during the accident. She sees a huge bear looking at her and is scared, so scared she locks herself in the truck of the car.
Leo shifts back to human and saves her, he gets the car running and drives them to his cabin. There he tries to thaw out Tara. She’s still dazed from the cold and head bump, she can’t help looking at the naked man who has rescued her. After a warm bath he feeds her, she asks if he’s a bear shifter since she saw the bear and then a naked man. She read all about shifters in an article. He confirms it and she asks if he has a mate, he says he does and her name is Tara. She immediately deflates, he has a mate and the lucky woman has the same name as her. I’m going to let her duh moment slide since she has been traumatized and has a head injury.
She finally realizes it her! Leo was quite amused by her.
Lights go out so camping in front of a roaring fireplace, that of course leads to sexy times, dual virgins. He almost bears out during the night because his bear wants to mate mark her. She’s all in and offers up her neck. His brothers come over and meet Tara the next morning and can’t believe Leo has a mate. A few idyllic days go by and Leo tells her to call, her mom. Weird conversation with her mom, I felt more love and care from her sister than her mom.
It’s decided she’ll stay, epilogue thirteen years later with three cubs and them very happy together. David didn’t want to marry Tara and was glad she ran away, he later finds his love and marries.

This was not a stand out book to me. I started with number 4 of this series and it was much better than this book was. The spice wasn't spicing as much in this book, and it was a little disappointment. Maybe a 2/5, whereas the other book was a 3.5 or 4/5. I still recommend this entire series, because it's short, concise and filled with lots of sex. If you're into that kind of thing ... which I am.

This book didn't seem nearly as believable to me as the other I've read in the series. And yes, I realize that it's a book about bear shifters, but I can think what I'd like. What I didn't find nearly as believable in this story was the FMC's backstory. Her parents want to marry her off just because they want to move to Argentina? Seems like there were a lot of other steps before that was the last resort. When the MMC and FMC do meet up and we find out that they've both been saving themselves for each other, they're both just magically good at all things sex related and she can take a massive dick with little to no prep? That seems highly unlikely to me. Maybe it's bear shifter magic or instinct or whatever, but I'm still just not buying it.

Because it's so short and easy, I would say go for it. It's a nice break in between reading heavier stuff and the spice wasn't bad enough for me to say don't read it at all. Just go in with eyes open and give books further into the series a chance because from my experience they get better!

(DNF) The heroine was annoying and a literal dumbass. This is what sealed my dislike for her and the writing in general:

"I wiggle them on the wet mat, so thankful that I didn’t lose any to frostbite. I love wearing flip-flops in the summer and some mangled missing toes would have seriously messed up my flip-flop game."

A wonderfully written story with outstanding characters which was a great page turner, a sweet steamy romantic happily ever after ending.
The woman meets a grizzly bear shifter when she gets into an accident while a snowstorm is happening, the shifter helps her by getting her to his home out of the frigid temperatures.
The woman and the grizzly bear shifter mated. The couple knew that they loved one another almost from the very beginning even though no one said a thing to the other. At first the woman was scared due to the fact the shifter was in his grizzly bear form but when he came in his human form she calmed down even though he was a stranger to her.
It all started with her running away from her wedding that she was forced into by her mother, she took her sister’s car heading to the mountains of Montana where she came upon a snowstorm and got into an accident.
The grizzly bear shifter was chopping wood with his brothers when they started talking about waiting for their mates, he got upset due to the fact he was tired of waiting for his mate so he left, taking off his clothes before changing into his grizzly bear form running off.
That’s when the two met, he took her to his place and got her warm, she had a gash on her nose which he cleaned and bandaged up, he gave her some of his clothes to wear before going to make some food for them. It didn’t take any time for her to clean up, get dressed and come into the kitchen. The two talked over wine. He knew that she was his mate but didn’t know who to tell her any of it so he didn’t but she figured out what he was as they drank wine and had soup. She was slow to figure out that she was his mate even though she knew it already.
During their meal the electricity went out because of the snowstorm so he brought in the mattress from his bed so she could be by the fire for warmth even though his body is warm. They start kissing as they kiss their clothes come off, he kisses all over her body before he gives her oral sex, she gives him oral sex as well. The woman has a spot that starts aching just below her earlobe, the shifter as well as his grizzly bear noticed it and the grizzly wants to mark her as theirs but the shifter forces the grizzly down because he wants to have her first. The two have sex several times throughout the night.
The woman wakes and notices the shifter is bigger, they start talking and his grizzly bear comes out. The woman tells him to make her, as the grizzly bear marks her they have sex. Now the woman is his mate completely. The grizzly bear turns back into human form and they go back to sleep, waking a while later. The shifters' brothers show up and they can’t believe he found his mate. The shifter demands that they leave but she tells them to come back in a short period of time so they can get dressed but before they get dressed they have sex real fast. She looks around for something to make for breakfast as he goes out to start the generator. They all make breakfast together then sit, eat and talk all morning.
They go outside and make snow angels and she wants to see the grizzly bear again, when he turns she talks to the grizzly for a moment before the grizzly comes up to her, she knows he won’t harm her just like she knows the shifter won't harm her. When the shifter turns back they talk about her making a call to her mother.
He’s making lunch when she calls her sister instead of her mother but her sister gives the phone to their mother and the two talk. When she’s off the phone they talk. The shifter puts her on the counter looking at her like he’s going to eat her for lunch.
Thirteen years later he’s with his family, his wife and their three kids, all of the kids are shifters just like him. They're out making a snowman, he’s making the base, the kids making the middle section and his wife making the head. His wife goes off for a moment getting a couple of things from around the garden area. She comes back and they put the snowman together, he lifts her up and she adds stuff for the eyes, nose, mouth, whiskers as well as ears making a shifter snowman. After this they will go in for hot chocolate in front of the fireplace, playing a board game and then they will be ready for bed. After that the couple will have time alone together.
They love one another. Every day together is the best.

She is getting married to someone her mother practically nagged her to marry and so she decides enough is enough and she runs away after begging her sister for her car and runs from her wedding and due to the snow she gets into an accident but it’s not to bad other than a big cut on her forehead and so going to Leo, he is starting to think he doesn’t need a mate cuz he’s like fate ain’t giving me one so what’s the point I don’t need it until he runs into her on the highway with a wedding dress and a beat up car. He saves her car and her and then carries her the rest of the way to his house and warms her up and in the front of the fireplace he eats her out, mind you they when made out and it is intense. One thing leads to another and they do the deed and the next morning she wakes up to him growling and finds out the tingling spot means she needs his mark and he gives it to her animal style like half transformed half human style and she is spent and ravaged from him after and his grizzly is content. Then his brothers barge in on them and he is like get out and they’re shocked because they didn’t know if he wanted a mate from their conversation just the day before but she tells them to come back in ten minutes and they do the deed again in 7 minutes mind you and then get ready and cook breakfast and all is well. She gets in touch with her sister and her mother shouts at her for her not getting married and leaving Alex who is the almost groomsman and that she can’t live in Argentina now but she tells her mother she’s moving out and that she’s met someone and her mother is at peace knowing she’s taken care of. 13 years later they have 3 kids and are happy in the snow and the mountains of Montana.

I loved how the author did the flashback inner monologue for FMC when thinking about meeting her arranged husband to be that she is about 3 minutes away from leaving at the altar. "The next week, my parents and I were at their house. We had some alone time while we set the table. We talked about five things: 1. Pretzels (he likes them but prefers chips) 2. The napkins on the table which belonged to his grandmother (they were painfully ugly) 3. The weather (it was cloudy) 4. The dinner (should be ready soon) 5. His fantasy football team (I don’t or won’t ever give a shit about fantasy football) There was zero chemistry. Zero fireworks. Zero interest. Looking at him made me feel as much passion as looking at a stalk of celery lying on the dirty tiled floor of the grocery store. But things were in motion—our mothers working quickly behind the scenes—and all of a sudden we had a wedding date and my mother came home with a dress and the invitations were sent out before I even knew they were ordered. And now I’m stuck in the backroom of the church with my sister, trying to fight back a panic attack." I think this scene and mindset really feels familiar to any of us who grew up in a family dynamic where you would often find yourself pushed into situations you didn't want because you were worn down, talked over, or bullied into it and then at the eleventh hour FREAK OUT because omg how did I get here.

I know it's a little bit corny, but having both MC's be inexperienced romantically and having him fall first (even if only a very short time between the falls) was a lovely combo that comes off sweet and earnest in terms of vibe but brings the STEAM once things start rolling. Really fun and quick read, great cozy read for the beginning of winter setting in where I live in the Pacific NW.

So the one negative which is a knit pick....even though the OM was not wanted (and he didn't want the marriage either), it was a bit cruel to ditch him and have him wait at the altar. He was very relieved, but she did not know that, for all she knows, he could have felt embarrassed and heart broken. Did not like that she did not care. There could have been a scene where she pulls him away, in her wedding dress, and told him delicately, that she can't marry him, she wants love, and he could have been relieved and told her that he did not want the marriage either, and HE (the OM), could have helped her escape. Both being happy to be free of the marriage, and even been friends. Now that would show that Tara was at least sensitive to others feelings. I am glad that the unwanted OM later found love, so, that was good to hear.
The rest was a passionate, sweet story with her grizzly shifter Leo. Olivia T Turner writes fantastic shifter romances and he is big, strong, sweet, passionate and loving. (I love when the heroes are big, strong silent type, but inside they are sweet and gentle when they make love to their one and only) I love Leo and I did warm up to Tara, I liked her as well.
It is a short but sweet read and I recommend it!

Part of the Marooned For A Night series each can be read as standalone with a shifter and the one who calms his beast. Tara is a sweetheart who has been pushed around, bullied, talked over, use to no one listening or doing things without even telling her and that has been her life with her family especially an overbearing mother. Now the day of her wedding which she had no part in the planning, didn’t even know what the invitations looked like and when it was time to have a dinner with the future husband there was no connection, zero passion, nothing that drew her to him or him to her completely disappointed knowing she can’t go through with it so she steals her sisters car and runs like her life depended on it of course gets into an accident. Leo sexy as all get out bear shifter who has lived for a while without his mate thinking he will never find her until he finds her in a car accident knowing he must keep her from freezing so shifting back to his human to save her and she fights him on his help but knowing she has no choice due to the storm headed their way. The magnetic mate pull is working overtime and she tries to ignore it but the more she is with him the stronger the pull grows but when her parents come for her will she allow them to bully her into go back, will she find the strength to stand up for herself finally especially with her bear shifter standing behind her, and can they find happiness along the way of a running from an arranged marriage?

Tara is getting some clothes to change out of her wedding dress when she sees a grizzly bear. Tara hops in the trunk and closes it. When the trunk is opened there is a naked man standing outside of the trunk. Leo is a grizzly bear shifter and he has found his mate. Leo gets Tara’s car unstuck and drives her to his cabin. Leo never thought he would ever find his mate and he was about to give up. Tara figures out that Leo is a grizzly bear shifter and she is falling for him. Leo tells Tara that she is his mate. Fantastic Marooned For A Night romance!

Tara is a runaway bride escaping a strangely arranged marriage. Her parents wanted her out of the house so they could move, so they arranged a marriage with a man she barely knew. When her wedding arrives, she decides she can't go through with it and takes off. What she doesn't know is that she is heading into the path of a huge snowstorm.

Leo has almost given up on finding his mate. Unlike his brothers who claim not to want one, he actually does, and he and his bear have become restless. So when the urge to wander in the snow storm brings him to a woman who has run off the road and is injured, he knows exactly that he was meant to find her. She is his mate.
Tara has read about grizzly shifters and how they are with their mates and has envied that connection, so when Leo tells he she is his, she believes him. This explains how she has felt safe with him since they met.

I believe I have read every single one of Olivia Turner's books. I love them. They are always short, super steamy with a great story, and guaranteed HEA, this one is exactly that.

Tara lives with her parents who want to move to another country. Her mother wants Tara happily settled down is pressuring her to marry. She keeps pushing the son of a family friend at Tara and keeps harping. Finally, Tara is worn down and agrees. Now she is minutes away from the ceremony and she is panicking. There is no way she wants to settle for an unfeeling arranged marriage. She talks her sister into helping her escape and her sister suggests that she travel to the cabin in Montana that the family used to stay in in the summer. Tara takes off but she runs into a nasty snow storm. Her car spins out and she crashes. When she finds a bear rushing to her, she dives in the trunk. She is shocked when a naked man opens the trunk and brings her to his cabin.

Leo and his brothers are bear shifters. They live isolated in the woods and have been building their own cabins. Leo is discouraged that he hasn't found his mate yet. He tells his brothers that he's happy living alone. That all changes when he is letting his bear run and his bear smells their mate. He finds his mate has crashed due to the storm. He rescues her and takes her home. He has no intention of ever letting her go but he is curious about why she is in a wedding dress.

I can’t celebrate. I’m too confused. Why was this man able to pull a car through that thick snow? Why is he naked? Where did he come from? Oh yeah, and where the fuck did that bear go?
I can’t understand any of this. I must have gotten a brain injury from the crash. Or, maybe the paramedics found me and I’m on some wild painkillers. Am I hallucinating all of this?
If this is a hallucination, then he surely won’t mind me gawking at him.


How is your mate going to feel about… tonight?” I ask, feeling awful that I put both of them in this uncomfortable situation.
He smiles at me like he’s in on a joke that I’m not. “What do you mean?”
“Well… We’re here alone. Eating by candlelight. The music… The bath… And I saw your…”

Tara is running away from her wedding that her mother was trying to force her into so she could leave her parents’ house. She gets in her sister’s car and drives away. She get caught in a terrible snow storm. Tara ends up crashing.
Leo is a bear shifter who feels that he’ll never find his true mate. When he releases his bear and wanders around the mountain, he comes across Tara. His Bear immediately knows that Tara is his mate. Leo transforms back into his human form and helps Tara not to freeze to death. Tara is so confused but is drawn to Leo so she accepts his help.
Leo and Tara have some alone time due to the snowstorm. They both realize that they are mates. This steamy book was just great!
This author writes a fabulous shifter book! I loved the relationship between Tara and Leo. The secondary characters were fun and relatable. I would recommend this book to everyone!.

Tara is our beautiful, twenty four year old, innocent MFC. She leaves her fiancé David, at the alter and runs from the church (with her sister Cynthia’s help), the attendance and him. Right in to a horrible snow storm! She had zero attraction for David and just knew she couldn’t go through it.
Her car runs off the road and is stuck in a snow drift until our MMC Leo, saves her. He’s a twenty eight year old, handsome, big grizzly bear shifter. He was out in his grizzly form and smelled her and knew immediately she was his mate.
What follows is a beautiful love story between a sweet innocent human and a big alpha over the top protective grizzly shifter.
Throw in his two brothers Michael and Oliver and you have a comedic time on top of the romance.
Olivia T Turner gives us another great read. Highly suggest this awesome read for you.🥰👍🏻.

This was a fast paced, wonderful book. Leo and Tara were amazing characters. Leo was a frusterated bear shifter who was tired of searching/waiting for his mate. He had a love/hate relationship with his 2 brothers, with whom he worked the land they inherited from their parents. But his loneliness was really getting to him, especially with winter rolling around again.

Lara was a sharp-minded young lady who had let her mother force her into a wedding she didn't want. She wanted attraction, love, some "spark" between them. So...she ran. (Good girl!)

These two are so cute together, and OTT has some creative and humerous dialog between them (oh gosh...and when you add the brothers to the mix 🤣🤣). The story just picks up steam and never let's off. It's a perfect winter cosy shorty that I'm sure you'll love as much as I did.

I love this series.

Tara and Leo meet by accident when she’s running away from her arranged marriage during a massive snow storm.

Tara doesn’t want to get married but her mom pretty much forces her into for the sole selfish reason of getting her out of the house so they can retire lol

Leo has been waiting for his mate for so long he’s started to try to make himself think that he doesn’t need a mate.

This was such a cute story. They fell for each other quickly but it didn’t feel rushed. It was almost as if inevitable which I really like when that happens. Nothing upsets me more than misunderstanding after misunderstanding that gets swept under the rug for the sake of tying everything up.

Olivia Turner can always be counted on to deliver a HEA with as little drama and as much heat as a possible. Would def add this to my recommend column.

Tara is in the holding section of a church waiting to walk down the aisle. Only she's going off the rails. She doesn't want to get married to the guy who mother picked out. She has her sister help her by giving her the car keys and cash and a credit card for emergency use. Then she is out of there! She's about an hour away from her destination when the snow comes down that the roads get dangerous. Then she slides off. Meanwhile Leo, a grizzly bear shifter, is with his brothers on their land taking down trees for their fires. A big storm is coming. When he gets tired of the nonsense from his brothers he goes off. That's when he finds Tara. His grizzly knows immediately she's his mate. He is also stunned! She's here!! Why is she in a wedding dress????!!
A beautiful story of fate stepping in to unite two people!!.

Leo and his brothers live on the mountains. They are grizzly bear shifters who are looking for a mate. Leo tries to convince both himself and his brothers that he is not interested in finding his mate. He knows that he is only lying to himself.
Tara is in an arranged marriage by her mother. She is not in love with the groom and at the last minute seeks the help of her sister to become a runaway bride.
One of the biggest snow storms of the decade hits causing her to run off the road in a snowbank. If she does not get help soon she could die in the elements.
This is such a sweet story. Leo and his bear come along and find Tara. He realizes at once she is his future, his mate. Leo is an alpha male protector who will do anything to win the heart of his mate.
Tara has to be the most understanding woman ever. I love how informed her character is and how nonchalant Leo is about his shifter life.
Such a great take on a shifter story.

Tara (h) flees her wedding in her full regalia to avoid an arranged marriage to a man she feels nothing for and ends up crashing her car in a snowstorm while driving on a Montana roadway. Grizzly bear shifter Leo (H) has just about given up hope of finding his mate until he scents Tara and comes to the rescue. Tara is surprised to see a grizzly bear coming for her and even more surprised when a naked Leo gathers her up to take her to the safety of his cabin. She finds herself drawn to Leo but misunderstands his explanation about himself and believes he already has a mate. Leo is sweet and caring towards Tara as he tries to make her understand how much she means to him. His relationship with his brothers was pretty funny too - hopefully they'll get mates too. Sweet and steamy bear shifter quickie romance with a little miscommunication and some smiles.
