I need stability, so getting yanked off the patio of the therapy center during work wasn’t on my bucket list.

At first, I think my captor is just mentally disturbed. Maybe someone from the base with PTSD? After all, we’re in the middle of a National forest.

But it doesn’t take long to realize that he needs more than therapy. Especially with the crazy story he tells me about knowing me.

He’s on the run and determined to put as much distance between him and the occasional helicopter search party as possible. But now, I’m not sure if they’re looking to rescue me—or capture him.

Because he’s definitely… not quite human.

Jumbled

No explanation, looks to be a continuation of maybe more than 1 previous series. But it didn't say that in the blurb. If you don't follow the author then you walk in without knowing anything and get absolutely no background. There's zero world building. The characters didn't develop, at least for the 40% I made it through before tossing it back. The plot is laughable. She's supposed to be a trained psychiatrist but doesn't actually listen to the guy who gives a number as his name. He talked about cages, others who look different, he can camouflage himself and grow limbs, and has no idea what the world outside labs is like. But all she sees is hot guy and she's ready to go. Her body is acting different than usual, but, eh, who cares when he's hot, right? She has chunks of time missing in her memory, but isn't he nice looking? It was just blerg. But when they are both kidnapped again and she's wandering the base like she wouldn't have her behavior monitored, and then more aliens show up with stories that means this is a continuation that wasn't explained previously, I threw in the towel. I went back and looked at the Blood series and Sinth series. Nope. Reviews look like the one I'm leaving for this one. Drivel, fluff, disjointed story telling, more time in steam than plot or character development. Ugh. Basically badly cobbled erotica, once again in the romance section with no rights to be. Romance can have erotic elements, but erotica isn't romance.

Tory can't remember her last deployment, but it can't be anywhere near as crazy as this stranger is saying, right?

Seven is soaking in the joys of freedom, grabbing hold of what he wants and needs, determined not to go back to a cage.

This done in one Kindle unlimited book launches a new series that spins out of a previous series of stories. Definitely Not Human stands solidly on its own as we learn more about what the Taxin have been doing on Earth.

I enjoyed this story about two lonely people trying to understand one another under less than ideal circumstances, and keeping their heads when things are turned upside down.

Mi humilde opinión:

Definitely Not Human es un romance de ciencia ficción con romance, aventura y acción.

Lo primero que noté es la portada que no me gustó, ese Seven tan caricaturesco se ve raro.

En cuanto a la historia, me mantuvo interesada con los aliens escapando, militares, experimento secretos, aliens y habilidades especiales.... Sin embargo, me quedaron muchas preguntas. Sentí que yo tenía que saber lo que estaba sucediendo, me faltó más claridad. Supongo que como es una serie se continuará desarrollando el tema en los siguientes libros.

El romance estuvo bien pero no particularmente me emocionó. Me gustaban los protagonistas, sobretodo Seven, por su inocencia, pero tampoco no aprendí mucho de ellos.

No es una lectura mala, tuvo sus momentos, pero no es una historia que me anime a continuar con la serie.

This book was amazing and I loved how old and new characters were interwoven to make this book what it is brilliant. Tory is a Therapist in the military’s top secret base in the Forest after she has just came back from a mission that she cannot remember. While on a break she is kidnapped by an alien man or she thinks he is a man. Seven is a human that has been altered with Alien DNA and has lived and been cage at the base all his life and now he has escaped and on his way out he smells a delicious scent and goes to get it because the female is his mate and kidnaps her and takes off into the forest. At first she is scared and thinks he is a patient at the base but it soon turn out they have meet before and he tells her everything as her memories start coming back and she realizes he is telling the truth and she is very attracted to him as she teaches him how to live outside of the base. On the run from the Taxin’s who are the ones who are running the experimenting on Seven and others and have been messing with her memories after she comes back and has a debriefing with there people. Now they have been recaptured and she needs to save her mate and knows who to call for help. Loved this book and a great start to a fabulous series.

Tory is a therapist at a military clinic. She has been having terrible headaches since she came back from her latest mission, and she has no recollection of the time she was gone. She is outside taking a break when someone grabs her and kisses her causing her to pass out.

Seven has been a prisoner of the doctors his whole life. When he is finally rescued and released he knows he needs to run away and hide but the most amazing smell draws him to Tory. He grabs her and kisses her but when she passes out he takes her and hides with her.

When Tory wakes up Seven tells her a totally bizarre story. She thinks he is a mental patient and tries to humor him. But the more time she spends with him, the more she starts to believe him. When the unthinkable happens and she is “rescued “ and Seven is recaptured, she has some tough decisions to make. When her memory returns she knows everything Seven has told her is true and that she must find someone to help her rescue him. And she knows just where to start looking!.

Tory has a pounding headache and her day goes downhill from there. Kidnapped by a crazy man and knocked out is not the way she planned to end her work day. As a therapist she know that she needs to make a connection with this man to stay safe. But something just seems off.

Seven has been set free and should be running for the hills but an utterly alluring scent keeps him there. The human female draws him in. Not until he has tasted her and has her unconscious body in his clasp can he flee. Not understanding the overwhelming urge he covers as much ground as possible before finding somewhere safe to hide.

Can he keep her safe long enough to get her accept him or will they be captured and returned?

Fabulous start to a new series with strong, capable women and sweet, alpha males with a lot to learn about their world. Can't wait for the next one.
Tory is a strong, intelligent woman understandably confused by her current situation. Whilst Seven is a sweet, ernest male laser focused on her.

Great start to the new series - reading the Ajnara warrior books is a plus and adds to the experience but is not necessary to be able to enjoy Tory and Seven's story. Hot and steamy alien-human romance with plenty of intrigue, suspense, and action.

Tory is a therapist on a millitary base. She herself though has practically dehabilitating headaches and she has also come to realise that she seems to be experiencing some memory loss as well. When she is kissed unconscious and then grabbed she believes that she might be at the mercy of someone who is mentally unstable, however as she gets to know her "kidnapper" some of those holes are being filled and not how she would have thought they would. Seven has never known what it is to be not experimented on or even free. When he is rescued he knows what he should be doing, running as far away as he can but the scent coming to him on the breeze is screaming at him to follow it. What will he find?
This is a new series by Pearl Tate and while you might feel a bit more familiar with it if you have read any of the Ajnara stories, you won't lose anything by not having done so. There is a lot going on here and I really want to know what might happen next!

This story emerges from a plot line shared with the Ajnara warrior series. With the zombie-apocalypse-like Wen virus still raging, it is the questionable DNA splicing lab that is of interest. I really liked how this story jumped right in –probably because I’ve read other Ajnara warrior novels so had some background in the other things going on. Seeing and experiencing Sevens’ thoughts and reactions truly was creative. With Tory’s introduction to Seven and his lived experience, we get to see how she is a piece to this puzzle as well as the extent of some of the DNA splicing. With a satisfying HEA as well as a vague hint of help needed by one of Sevens’ fellow escapees, I enjoyed the story and now am looking forward to the next novel in the series.

Tory and Seven's Adventure . . .

Tory is kidnapped from a military base by Seven who seems to know her. She keeps getting terrible headaches and is not sure why. She has also lost memories of the time before she returned. Actually, both of them had been rescued from an experimental lab and her memory was wiped which is why she can’t recall what happened. But Seven does know her from their experiences as captives. He tells her what happened. He would have been gone but her scent stopped him. Is it possible that Tory and Seven are actually mates?

They are in for more adventure when Seven is recaptured. Tory now believes what he told her is true and she needs to find a way to rescue him. Will she be recaptured as well? Or can she find someone to help her free her mate?

This is a great, exciting story. Seven is a captured human caged and genetically altered with alien DNA. Seven's has never been out of the facility. Tory is a therapist at the military clinic. She's been having horrible headaches since her last mission. Seven escapes but he smells something that grabs his attention and he finds Tory and kisses her. When she passes out from his kiss he takes her with him to hide. Tory learns the most amazing story about Seven and aliens. When they are retaken Tory has to decide if she can find someone to help her rescue Seven. Who will she get? An amazing story that I highly recommend.

Another engaging story I loved reading. This story is about Tory and Seven and their romantic adventures. Tory a therapist is suffering with headaches after her last mission when she decides to take a smoking break outside. She finds herself being kissed and going unconscious and wakes up abducted by a patient. Seven is one of test patients that escapes his lifelong captors and is drawn toward a scent. Following the scent leads to a woman whom he kisses and then takes her into the woods being chased. This starts this engaging story as Tory starts to remember her last mission. When Seven is captured will Tory rescue him? I volunteer to read and review this copy I'd received.

Definitely not Human is a Paranormal Sci-Fi Romance that continues to expand and craft its storyline with exciting revelations and surprises that will keep readers glued to the pages, and enjoying the interplay between its charismatic characters.
This new story follows leads Tory and Seven as it introduces the Ryern species into the fold.
A wonderful adventure soon follows with suspense, intrigue, mate bonding and spice that is a well written immersive read and concludes with an HFN that promises of more alien action to come in future books.

Great Book!! Pearl Tate’s various series dealing with the zombie Wen virus and the various alien species (there’s both good and bad) that are involved both in dooming Earth for nefarious purposes and those that are trying to save it are outstandingly exciting and interesting. This new series is both uplifting and frightening. You will definitely be kept on edge and won’t want to put this book down even for a second. Past readers of the Sinth Series will be heartened to learn that the Sinth and their mates are included in this series. Are Taxins friends, foes or both.

This is the first of the stories about the 4 “humans” that were rescued from the Taxins. These men have all been infused with DNA from other species. They fled from their rescuers because they had only been abused by aliens and were afraid to stay.

Seven has been imprisoned so long he has never had a name. Soon after they leave the other victims he is drawn to Tory. He kidnaps her at first, then they are captured. Tory has begun to feel for 7 and gets help to free him. They begin to help their rescuers and go to help another of the 4.

Tory heads back in after her break but is grabbed and kissed, goes numb then passes outTory was sitting outside taking a break between appointments. She gets up to head inside and is grabbed as she turns the corner. She is kissed and a tongue pushed between her lips soon she realizes that she is being drugged as she goes numb, limp then passes out. When she comes to she in in a cave with a stranger creature.

Starts out slow and you wonder what is going on, then picks up and takes you for a ride. Seven is fascinating to get to know. With everything he has been through he still has lots of kindness in him and a strong will to do what is right. I feel bad for Tory and how everything at first plays with her head. Poor girl needed a break.
This one will grab a hold of you and pull you along. I didn't want to put it down.

Wow, building on the previous stories with the Sinth, this one still caught me by surprise! At first, I didn't follow where the storyline was going because all the information was coming from Seven, which was brilliantly laid out as a character, so when Tory finally realizes why there are so many things that he doesn't understand, she's outraged by his captor. Well written, captivating, couldn't put it down. Loved it!.

This is definitely a original book. I can't say I've ever read anything quite like it. Tori is on a army base when Seven kidnapped her. They were both recently rescued from an experimental lab that they were held captive in. Unlike Seven Tori has no memory of being in a lab or what was done to her. Her memory was wiped. It turns out that Tori and Seven are mates and everything just goes crazy after that.

I love this story, its sweet and twisted at the same time. Tory gets kidnapped off the military base, she works on by a guy, she believes is mentally unstable. She later realizes that he's an alien. Seven escaped from the military base he was held on and when he comes across Tory, he finds her irrisistable. A great insta love story.

This is a fantastic start to a new series. I loved the slow reveal of Seven's true identity, and of Tory's true situation. It built the suspense and added an extra dimension to the "fated mate" trope that took it far out of the typical alien romance and into an exciting new direction. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

excellent story, well written and wonderful characters. fast paced action and unique storytelling. loved both the main characters. while i wait for the next book in the series i will read the Sinth series. highly recommend this book, it is a sterling example of this genre.

Different Dimensions and Different Sci-Fi Romance

Excellent and very different than the usual Sci-Fi Romance. I see this is book one, and I am anxious to read more in this series. I do recommend the story that hardly seems escapism. I gave it 5 stars for it's originality.

Licking… So Much Licking!!!

Definitely Not Human is book 1 in the Alien Integration series and I loved this! Aliens, zombies and humans, military experiments, fated mates, danger, conspiracy, action, and plenty of spice. What more can you ask for! Except, I also thought there was unexpected funny bits that I also loved! The characters are endearing and there is definitely an overall series plot happening. I recommend Definitely Not Human if you like an exciting alien romance. I am immediately starting the next book, Clearly Not Human, I can’t wait to see what happens next!

FYI: Pearl Tate has four different series that all share the same creative world. The characters and events from all of the different books and series pop into each other’s stories. Some of the timelines run concurrently or overlap so reading in order is extremely important to avoid spoilers. There are many books over the 4 different series but they are quick, easy, page turning reads that will suck you in. They have made a wonderful binge read!

Here is my reading order suggestion so you do not miss a thing!

1. Start with the Sinth Strain series and read them in order but do not miss the Sinth Strain prequel, Sinth Savior, where it all began. I got mine via signing up for Pearl’s newsletter.

2. Read the Blood Rage Series about the Sinths who are exiled. Also read these in order. But first don’t miss the prequel to the Blood Rage series called Blood Compelled, I got my copy via signing up for Pearl Tate’s newsletter.

3. Next read the Alien Fated Mates For Ajnara Warriors in order. These aliens are amazing with very unique abilities!

4. Then finish up with the Alien Integration series and read those in order as well.
