Amazon Top 25 and USA Today bestselling author Kayley Loring spent many years as a screenwriter (under a different name) in Los Angeles before moving to the Pacific Northwest to live out her childhood dream of being a Disney heroine who talks and sings to woodland creatures. When not trying to keep animals alive, she’s writing steamy romantic comedy novels, obviously. She’s breathing cleaner air, writing dirtier words, and staring at her computer screen until her eyeballs dry out instead of prancing around Southern California in miniskirts and going to the hair salon. Still waiting for the woodland creatures to clean her house, though.

Read or listen to Kayley’s books when you want humor, heat, and heart. You’ll enjoy top-notch banter, strong heroines, lovable characters you’d want to know in real life and you’ll swoon over perfectly imperfect book boyfriends. All Kayley Loring books are steamy open door romance. Be sure to check out her next-level audiobooks!

*Read as part of The Brooklyn Boyfriends collection*

"There was no last night, there’s no rain, there are no questions, there is no end to this summer, there is only this."
I was laughing out loud for most of this book. That's Kayley's writing for you: funny, sexy, and hot.

This is the story of Vince and Nina. Nina is a first-grade teacher who was engaged to a guy who ended up cheating on her. He was definitely an asshole, but it was actually good this happened, because she would've stuck with him. You see, Nina went for safety instead of passion, the poor thing. And so she settled, with a guy who wouldn't even go down on her. As I said, asshole.

Vince works in real estate, and Vince got cheated on by his girlfriend. Probably for the best too, because she definitely was NOT worth it - we get a glimpse of her in the story, and I wanted to punch her face in. Maybe Vince would have settled too, and that would've been so wrong.
Anyway, what starts off as a sort of ridiculous, half-ass attempt at revenge ends up becoming a real love story for him.

"Because I’ve been thinking that you’re the one who found me. Or…you keep finding these parts of me that I didn’t know existed."
The beauty of this simple story is that, while they both didn't see the end of their respective relationships coming, they had to end. Simply because these two people need to be together. Vince turns Nina's world upside down by simply being himself, while Nina changes Vince's whole world by being herself too. No gimmicks, no tricks, no trying to please other people.

You see, they couldn't be themselves around their exes, but they can totally be themselves with each other. They're discovering how to be happy again, and how love can be something incredible, with the right person.

"'Baby, I would rather let you break my heart every day of my life than live without you.”
I cover my mouth. “Oh my God. Vince. We’re so cheesy.'"

I cannot stress enough how much I love both of them together. I love their cheesiness. I love the jokes, the innuendos, the sweetness. I love Nina's made up swear words - I mean, "clucktard", "motherflorcker"... priceless. I love Vince's family side, and the way he is with his kid brother. Adorable.

More than anything, I love how they fit.

"And that’s how I know it’s summer again, and that for us, it always will be."
If there's a critique on my side, it's that I wanted more. The book is not that short, just a bit over 200 pages, but I wanted more just because I love them together.
And the ending is perfect - another author would probably want to have a big romantic gesture, but there was no need for that with these two. Because sometimes it really is just that simple.

Kayley Loring is definitely one of my favorite writers. Can't wait to read the rest of this collection!

This is a short romance with 200 pages, and maybe that's why it wasn't enough. It was sweet, fun and hot(ish) but it is never enough. Let me tell you why.

*********************************************

THE PLOT

Vince decides to have a revenge-f*ck with the ex-fiancé of the man who his girlfriend cheated on him with. He follows Nina around and acts as if they have met by accident when he sees her in a liquor store. They start to talk casually and Vince sees that he actually likes Nina. Of course, he doesn't tell her that he has been stalking her and that he was after some revenge. He just charms her panties off.

And in the middle of their one-night stand, just before they had sex, he makes a mistake and she understands that he knows who she is. Then they talk about it and Vince says that it was his initial intention but now he wants her because he really likes her.

In the middle of their conversation, while he was talking about his ex, he punches the wall and makes a hole and weird but she is not afraid of him. I might have thought he had anger management issues.

Anyways, he says he is sorry, they talk a bit more and in the end, she is OK with it and they have their one-night stand.

*********************************************

Later, although they both fear what they feel might not be real and they may just be each other's rebounds, they decide to be together, at least all summer long.

Although Vince's initial intention was revenge, I believed that he actually liked Nina and I had high expectations about their story. However, it failed to satisfy my expectations big time.

*********************************************

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE

I didn't like that Nina thought she wasn't enough for Vince.

I didn't like that Vince's therapy sessions were glossed over. They felt as if they were there for the sake of letting us know that he is going to therapy.

When they meet their exes, Nina thought Vince downgraded with her now as his ex was gorgeous and I didn't like it. I would have preferred she had more self-confidence.

I didn't like that Vince accepted his ex's double date offer and Nina suffered through it.

I didn't like that Vince didn't tell Nina that his ex came onto him. Nina's friend sees them and tells her that he pushes his ex away when she tries to kiss him but when Nina tells about it to Vince, he doesn't explain it in a satisfactory way. He just says he didn't think it was important and that's why he never mentioned about it. I didn't like his explanation. And after that conversation, I didn't like that Nina felt insecure and needed a time apart and thus, there was a separation for weeks.

I was looking forward to a satisfying "come together" after being weeks apart but Vince comes and says he missed her, she says sorry for hurting and leaving him and whoops, the happy end! I didn't like such an easy reconciliation.

Another thing that bothered me is the unresolved situation of their exes. We've learnt that his ex and her ex are having problems and arguments in their relationship but at the end of the book we don't know what happened to them. I didn't like that the writer made such a rushed ending that she never bothered to mention about their situation.

*********************************************

All things considered, I liked the beginning of the book, their attraction was palpable and they were sweet and charming but after the revelation of the truth and their hot and sweet one-night stand, the tempo of the book drops from 90 to 20 and it goes on like that, feeling never enough...

In short, only, the beginning of the book is awesome, the rest is, unfortunately, a disappointment.

Miss Loring usually can write such a corky fun romance book. Rebound with Me is no exception. There is her signature of out loud laughing jokes in this book.

This book is more intended for NA audience. The insta lust is..well.. instant. With a twist of faith, 2 people who got dumped by their respective ex, rebounding with each other.

I mostly just enjoyed this book for the laugh. Its been a long weekend.

3.5 stars. I really liked this story, it’s mostly light and fun and sweet. I liked that the hero was so immediately into the heroine - his POV chapters were actually really enjoyable and sweet - unlike so many books where the hero’s POV is sleazy or just TMI.

There were a few loose ends left untied which was somewhat disappointing. However, the extended epilogue was great and I’m so glad it’s included in the audiobook version and I don’t have to go to the author’s website and subscribe to her email list to get it.

Safe; no virgins, hero was a manwhore prior to his previous relationship ending. Heroine was engaged. Both H&h are cheated on by their SO’s - the h’s fiancé was cheating with the hero’s girlfriend. They essentially do a partner swap. There’s a good amount of OW drama with both the H’s ex, plus a few run ins with his past hook-ups. There’s a very minimal amount of OM drama. Somehow, none of this really bothered me since the hero is only interested in the heroine. No scenes with OM/OW, no cheating between MCs.

This is such a fun read! Playful, sexy and sweet with a lot of heart, it’s the first book in the Brooklyn Book Boyfriends series, and an absolutely gorgeous romance, and I loved it!

Nina has just discovered that her fiancé (who also happens to be her boss) has been cheating on her for two months. She’s not as devastated as she probably should be, but figures drowning her anger and sadness with alcohol is the way to go. And it’s while she’s at the liquor store that she runs into the most gorgeous man she’s ever met. Vince invites her to a local bar, and when Nina decides it’s time to step outside of her comfort zone and have some fun for once, she and Vince end up back at her place for an insanely sexy encounter.

He could have said Let’s go to hell—it’s warm there, right? And I would have just stared at his butt and said, Yeah. Let’s do that.

In a great twist, it turns out that Vince is the now-ex-boyfriend of the girl that Nina’s fiancé was cheating on her with. Coincidence? Perhaps not. But neither of them can deny their mad physical chemistry, and they end up seeing each other again… and again. And when they realise that they can’t (and don’t want to) keep their hands off each other, they decide to continue seeing each other for the summer as a way to move on from their respective relationships, and then they’ll go back to their normal lives.

So they dive in to outings, dates, meeting the families and a whole lot of sex, and easy, naturally, and quite unexpectedly, they find themselves in an actual relationship. They both fall hard, and they follow their hearts while they do it, and I loved watching it all unfold.

Thankfully the song that’s now playing is some cheesy Beyoncé ballad that we don’t have to dance to—and you could not pay me enough to dance to this song. Ever.
“Oh, I love this song!” she exclaims, turning to me. Her eyes are all lit up. “Can we slow-dance to this?!”
“Okay!”
Fuck.

I love these characters. Nina is cute, a little bit goofy, and she’s so relatable. She’s a straight-talker who doesn’t play games, and she’s open with Vince, which I love. She also comes with a hilarious best friend who is an absolute scene-stealer. And Vince is the kind of hero that never fails to win my heart. He’s gorgeous and confident, with a great sense of humour, and he’s not afraid to dive in with the girl he wants. He’s been a bit of a player in the past, but from the moment he meets Nina, he’s all in, and seeing him fall in love for the first time was so gorgeous.

“Baby, I would rather let you break my heart every day of my life than live without you.”
I cover my mouth. “Oh my God. Vince. We’re so cheesy.”

They both have issues to work through, and there is a bit of drama which is annoying, but it’s not too angsty and it’s resolved well to bring a happy and satisfying ending with two gorgeous epilogues

I really loved this book, and look forward to diving into the rest of the series.

4.5 stars!

I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Teddy Hamilton and MacKenzie Cartwright, and they do a wonderful job! Definitely a great book to listen to.

I really liked this! Two likeable characters, a kooky good girl + bad boy pairing, plus vanilla hot sex and charming corniness. And goes to therapy!

A perfect “for the plane” audiobook.

I am FINALLY getting to Kayley Loring’s backlist and I adored Vince and Nina! They are such a fun and cute couple! Their story is heartfelt, sweet and steamy with all the laugh out loud banter I’ve come to love from Kayley’s books.

Vince and Nina both are coming off of long term relationships and neither are ready for anything more than casual, so they begin what they think will be a summer fling. Nina is quirky and a bit nerdy but oh did she make me giggle. Vince is a little more on the serious side, but has a big heart and is a total sweetheart. I loved how unconventional their relationship began turned into something so real.

Mackenzie Cartwright and Teddy Hamilton narrate this audiobook and they were perfection!

Can’t wait for more in this series!

DNF @ page 43/257. The rating on this is criminal and frightening. Nina is a small town school teacher getting ready to have her first one night stand with a complete stranger when she finds out he’s been stalking her and punches a hole through her wall. She then does the most unhinged thing ever and gets him ice for his hand and invites him to stay. It’s a no for me!

I’ve previously met Vince and Nina in The Plus Ones, however, I LOVED getting to see how they met and the start of their relationship. Plus, their meet cute was fun and I LOVED it.

Vince and Nina are both newly single. Neither looking for anything series, so what’s better than a fun summer fling? After the summer they will part ways and both move on with their lives….but things never really work how we want them to.

I love Vince and he has definitely made my Kayley book boyfriend list. He is sweet, but he also has a dirty side to him. I loved how he cared for his little brother, it was sweet and will seriously melt your heart. Nina is also super loveable. She is funny, sweet and she is caring. The two of them together have amazing chemistry that was instant! I couldn’t get enough of them and their banter. I seriously was cracking up while I was listening to the audiobook of this story.

The narrators, Teddy Hamilton and Mackenzie Cartwright, did a FANTASTIC job bringing both Vince and Nina to life. They both captured Vince and Nina so perfectly that it made the story so much fun to listen to.

This one is a MUST READ and a MUST LISTEN if you’re looking for a laugh out loud romcom.

I would rate it higher because I did dig the relationship and dynamics in this story, it was fun and sexy.

And yet, I couldn't quite overcome how stalking/following someone was normalized as perfectly reasonable way to meet women. The proper response to realizing someone followed you, then subsequently finding out they followed your ex to your apartment, and then staked out your apartment until you emerged to follow you further to get you to sleep with them...is not...carrying on with the hook-up. I don't care how hot the guy is, that is not cute, and instead of getting out of clothes, I was rooting for Nina to GET THIS GUY OUT OF YOUR APARTMENT SAVE YOURSELF

Almost a 5 star for me. LOL! Loved Vince. He and Nina are perfectly head over heels for each other. But this book ended way too quick. At the 85% mark. And the mini separation was over and done before you could blink, thankfully, but very unnecessary. Another case of just talking things through could've settled that. Anywho....this was a quick fun read.

What I'm confused about is this is the last of the 3 books (Tonight You're Mine, Come Back to Bed, Rebound With Me) leading up to The Plus Ones (book 4). Where the 3 couples from these books join side characters Keaton and Roxy from book 1 (Tonight Your Mine). What I'm confused about is when do these 3 couples all get together as the close friends the are in The Plus Ones? I kept waiting for the couples tie in but there wasn't one. There's a very brief mention of Matt in book 1 but that's it. Too bad. That would've made it even more fun. Maybe its just me. I read book 4 and backtracked because I wanted to know more about the other couples. And glad I did. Oh well, just a heads up. They're all fun books. Enjoy!

Enjoyable read, totally unlikely ending

Based on the rest of the book, I'd have scored this one higher, but but unfortunately the ending just seemed totally unrealistic to me and spoiled it for me. If you went your separate ways for 10weeks without any contact you wouldn't just pick up where you left off without some major grovelling...

I read this book as part of my Kindle Unlimited subscription (free book but I have to pay £7.99 a month for the subscription)

I like rebound tropes but I like them when the relationship develops slowly. This one happened so fast! They start treating each other like boyfriend/girlfriend almost from the start with very little conflict.Yup, the agreed that they would only boink for the summer but given how well they were getting along, that seemed like a silly excuse to manufacture conflict.

The BEST part of the book was the Brooklyn setting and them exploring different neighborhoods there. And that even though Vince had a car, he also took the train now and then. Whenever I see books set in NY where the leads take cabs everywhere during the day, I can tell the author has never even met a person who lives here.

I brought this book as part of a four book bundle and with it’s distinct lack of plot, I’m not sure I would be carrying on with the series had that not been the case. That being said, this book was OK - Vince and ? (I’ve already forgotten her name and I finished the book less than 5 hours ago!) we’re a cute enough couple, but being honest, the book was thoroughly average, and I’m probably going to forget about it altogether by the end of the week!

Cute, humorous, and spicy!
Not a big fan of how/why Vince wanted to hook up with Nina. But if she can forgive him, then so can I!
However, this is the first story I've read where the cheaters come face to face with their victims and the result is laugh out loud priceless!!! I know people who would pay big money for that kind of revenge...excuse me, closure. Lol!!!!!!!!

Honestly the characters were emotionally immature and lacked depth. The writing was also choppy and abrupt IMO. Stuck it out since I enjoyed the first 50ish pages, but wished I didn’t.
