You may be hard to imagine the status of the Alchemy Emperor in the world of cultivation. Even the Emperor of the Holy Dynasty, the Supreme Martial Artist, and the Nine Heavenly Fairies, these powerful figures, would exhaust all their resources just to obtain a pill personally refined by the Alchemy Emperor.
However, the renowned Alchemy Emperor's greatest regret in his life was that at the age of fifteen, he was wrongly accused and forcibly had the foundation of his martial cultivation abolished. This left him unable to even cultivate the basics of martial arts.
Despite accumulating countless rare treasures during his many years of alchemical pursuits, among them were many supreme martial arts manuals that he could not practice.
Reborn to the age of fifteen, he not only aims to make amends for all his past regrets but also to achieve the pinnacle of martial arts! Genius? Family? Sect? Who has the qualifications to compete with the Alchemy Emperor in terms of cultivation resources!
So this is a review for 1-10. While enjoyable I'll admit the translation does get worse and worse. Mainly though it's just for the 'realm' names and not a big deal. Most the time
While the book is enjoyable. It also takes HEAVY inspiration on the verge of copying Li Tian 'Sovereign of Three Realms'
Edit- From book 15 onward it just straight up copies scenes from Sovereign of Three Realms. Whole arcs are near word for word copies of what happens, how it happens and where it happens. Only thing that might be different is some of the characters and reasons but it is outright just a copy of the book. Also from book 15 onward the translation gets bad. Mainly pronouns and Cultivation realms but it does get worse.
Honestly if I were to say what to read this or Li Tian's book. I'd say Read Sovereign of Three Realms as it is translated well and all original ideas. Even this book series starts to repeat scenes that were done earlier in the series as if the author forgot they already copied and used those scenes once before.
First the basis very similar. 'Peak' Alchemist is unable to cultivate martial ways and is 'reborn' with a able to cultivate in his new life with the memories of being a supreme alchemist.
Not bad right? Then there are tons of points where same scenarios come up. Name a few? Three senior alchemists show to a sect to try to solve their problem. No one can figure it, then the MC shows up and questions a change in the feeding or 'watering' of the sect's beast/tree. Alll female sect in both and the MC solves it while face slapping another alchemist.
There is a dark prison where the MC goes to find someone, he's not anywhere in the normal place but after bribing a inmate finds out they are in the deepest level. However they are weak, so why there? The big bad inmates have him and he exchanges something with the oldest image in the 'black section' to get him out. Both books have this.
A beast that's ailing and no one can figure it out but is offered a prize if they can't. No one can. Then MC figures out the beast is in heat and needs a partner. Both books have it.
I could go on and on with examples. I say inspiration other than outright copying even if the scenes do happen almost tat for tat but they happen in a different order and have enough variations to make them not exactly the same but still the same scene. Like the prison one, in one it's the guy's father and they took him to drain his power. In the other it's a family servant and they took him to be a servant.
The book on a whole is enjoyable though and the MC personality, I personally like. All the other series when the MC gets upset they tend to wipe out the family. This one the MC can be reasonable and think through if it will bring trouble or if letting it go is better. He is ruthless but also cunning. Also in most 'reborn' MCs they tend to hook up with someone right away. Which when they were thousands of years old and are not hitting on some 16 year old girl is creepy. This MC doesn't even notice the girls flirting with him because he sees them as 'children'.
So while there are 'scene's' that are copied and perhaps some of the set up is the same. The MC is far different and the world itself is different too. I'd say there are similarities to other authors like being from the 'eastern continent' which is barren while the central is the best. However that's just common in this genre. It's always where ever the MC is born is the 'weakest' while middle or center is always best.
I liked the story plot but the way it is written is awful! This story needs a major overhaul- due to poor grammar, sentence structure etc how could it even be published wth all the Grammatical errors on every single page? It makes it a very hard read. I'm an avid reader and know mistakes are often made but this is the worst I've seen. It looks like it was written in another language and then attempted to translate into English, but poorly. I would have given it 3 stars if not for the above issues.
Ah you know what happens in this book. Someone calls him trash, he kills them, then their brother comes to get revenge, then their uncle, then an assassin hired by their clan, then another more powerful clan, and so on all the way down. Everyone witnessing is shouting their low opinions and are duly surprised as he overcomes each obstacle. It isn’t too bad for one of those. There’s a kind of soothing rhythm to it. Yes, the translation isn’t great, but because what’s going on is so formulaic it doesn’t matter that much. Sometimes it’s nice to read something that doesn’t challenge you in any way.
The world building is ok but the storyline is disjointed. There are many errors or unexplained points. It needs to be rewritten with editorial additions. The base premise is good .
A good read as long as you like the way Chinese rambles on it not a bad translation good for when you're doing something boring and just need something to lisson to
