Alison can't help lying, even if she wanted to. In this hilarious third instalment of Fat Girl Slim, Alison appears in a variety of settings (I'm not telling you where - that would ruin it.) The first half of the book is told through 'what happened six months ago'.
I think we have all met a compulsive liar during our time, I don't like liars and they deserve to be made fun of. Marina Johnson has done this superbly, Alison is often in the wrong and I so enjoyed the outcome (again, I'm not telling!) All I will say is that if we are completely honest the odd white lie has escaped from us. This review is not a lie, however - this is a very enjoyable book in an awesome series.
Uplifting, light-hearted and just the right amount of dark humour.
The characters are great Alison is multi-faceted, her best mate Doris, when you read her - you will want Doris to be your mate too. Forgiving Gerald and new teeth Blake! You want to read it now don't you?

Great ending for the Trilogy

Ms. Johnson wrote 3 wonderful books! I enjoyed them thoroughly. A delightful way to look at oneself despite a yucky upbringing.

Another hit

This is the third in a trilogy and I have read all three now. I love catching up with the characters and seeing what lies are being told now and where it leads to.
This is possibly my least favourite as I found it slow going. I stuck with it though and the laughs from the first two appeared and I read the second half of the book in a day as I just couldn't put it down.
I really hope there is a 4th book and we can see everyone settled and no more humongous lies.

Loved catching up with Alison, such a good read, disappointed in the integrity of Doris in this book, I wouldn’t particularly want her as my friend I don’t think but she had her reasons as well, and her heart’s always in the right place.

I hope there’s another instalment, I want to see what happens next!!

So thoroughly entertaining!

I really enjoyed this third book in the Fat Girl Slim series.
All the old characters are still with us, plus some interesting new ones.
I love the way Alison has evolved, she's now a mother and desperate not to be like her own mother.
I don't want to give away too much of the plot but this one starts with her in prison - shocking, yet, given Alison's penchant for lying, perfectly plausible.
Her redemption at the end of the book left me with a lovely, warm glow.
I think there's plenty here for a fourth book.
Well written, funny and poignant, I highly recommend.

Brilliantly entertaining book

Great read. Finished in one go. Marina makes her heroine real and witH the human frailties that anyone can have. Wished it was a bit longer, like your favourite meal, it never lasts long enough

Great read

I loved this book, the story was great and I'm a huge fan of Alison since the first book ' fat girl slim '.
I would recommend reading the first two books in the series as it lays the groundwork for this one.
A brilliant read, well worth waiting for. 👍😃

I imagine this will be the last in the series, because the ending is so satisfying it's hard to see where the author could go from here. I enjoyed all the books in this series and look forward to reading more from this author.

Great last book

I really liked this one. Of all the three, it made me shed a little tear at the end.
We've all got a bit of Allison in us I think.
I'll be adding the rest of Marina's books to my wish list now👍🏻
