DO NOT GET ON HER NAUGHTY LIST
JoDi is an admin for the world's largest genre-specific Facebook reading group. It’s her second family, and NO ONE messes with her family. When naughty members take it too far and end up on her ANNIHILATE list, the dark side takes over, and she carries out cruel revenge, using social media as a grand tool. JoDi enjoys long walks in the park, volunteering at nursing homes, driving cancer patients to their appointments, and chopping up body parts. Her own life has always been a mystery to her, and when she gets close to finding answers from an unlikely source, her world begins to crumble—then murder becomes the least of her problems.
THIS IS A TRUE STORY, EXCEPT FOR ALL THE PARTS THAT AREN’T TRUE
I have a friend in the facebook group the book is based on which is why I picked this one up, but I hardly made it through. The writing is just awful and all over the place, completely overtakes what could have been an alright plot idea. I don't like rating books poorly but I really should have dnf this one. Completely missed the mark in my opinion.
Chris Colmenero Author thank you for allowing me to read your book in advance.
* X- Members by Chris Colmenero*
What a premise! Jodi, an admin for a psychological thriller reader group(OUR GROUP)is quite unique. Unique in how she targets her victims, the members of the group. Jodi is deeply distributed, witty, determined, and obsessive in everything she does. While married to a police officer, she lives a double life. As she spirals down the list of members.... more secrets are revealed. But will she get caught?
*** I copied and pasted this from my review on Facebook from our group Psychological Thriller Readers ***
-- She uses some of our current members as characters, as I had the privilege to be a character as well. I feel famous 🤣. Pretty cool right?! Only she changes the spelling of the name. You will know if it's you or not. -- This has plenty of profanity in it, so if that bothers you... don't read it. Sprinkled with a little smut. Pretty weird at times too lol. Weird is my middle name 🥸
Thank you, Christina for quite the laugh and suspense to boot 😉
Very interesting book. I felt like it was chaotic in the beginning. But the author is right starting at chapter 34 I couldn’t put it down. Such an odd twist at the end, but overall not a bad read
I wanted to read this, as I admin a large Facebook group. I loved the references to admin duties and the admin side of Facebook. However, it was poorly written. The hundreds of grammatical issues and improper sentences made it difficult to keep pushing through. Even if this was miraculously edited, the writing is very low grade. I am a bit disappointed that I spent money on this. I'm not one to usually leave 1 star reviews, but I felt compelled to warn others.
fellow f*cking readers, thanks to the wonderful Freida McFadden and her five-star review of this book, I have stumbled across one of the darkest, most gripping, yet hilarious novels I have read in a long time. Chris Colmenero wittingly tells the tale of JoDi who is a part-time Facebook admit and part-time psychopath. Although JoDi can be perceived as a loving, protective, and vengeance-wielding woman, she has some skeletons in her closet, or rather, underground every place she happens to have traveled to. But wait, there is indeed more. In addition to managing the largest genre-specific literary Facebook group and dealing with psychopathic urges, our girl JoDi is going through difficulties in her marriage that lead her to the most extreme lengths. Although this book is a mystery/thriller, its comedic element makes it a title that I was originally a little hesitant to pick up, but am so glad I did. I think Colmenero did an astounding job of combining elements of romance, mystery, gore, true crime, fantasy, and comedy to create this addictive plot. I will definitely be looking out for her in the future and suggesting this book to my friends.
I got about half way through but unfortunately had to give up on this one. I understand that it was trying to bring humour into the thriller and use inside jokes from the Facebook group but it just fell a bit flat for me. I like dark humour and also loved the idea behind this story but it wasn’t executed well in my opinion. I also felt like not a lot was happening in the actual story and I was not a fan of the main character at all, I just found her very cringey.
I absolutely love this book by #Chris Colmenero. It is dark and evil, but also funny and hilarious. I felt so many emotions, especially sad I was not among the members knocked off. Maybe next book. 🤔 I highly recommend this book and the FB group it’s based off, Psychological Thriller Readers.
The story was a little all over the place, some spot were right down to 2 ⭐️ rating and other places were 4 ⭐️ so I score this in the middle at 3 ⭐️
I have so many mixed views on this book and unanswered questions, I enjoyed that it was written from several different viewpoints - JoDi, Dr. Trudi, The Captive, Madame Fortenot, Yusuff. However I was left wanting more
The ending felt like a cliffhanger and unsure if there’s a book 2 (I hope we get a follow up book and it wraps up the unanswered questions)
Is it OK to laugh so much reading a thriller? This book had humor, murder, and of course, a twist I didn't see coming! Chris Colmenero even Chapter 39ing nailed Chapter 39! (IYKYK)
If you don't like a lot of cursing, dark humor, and a little smut, skip this book. If you're good with all that, enjoy!
I wish we could half stars, this book to me was 3.5 stars but I'm rounding up because I don't think it deserves 3 stars. The beginning of this book is all over the place and confusing and I almost dnf it but I pushed on because I am a member of this group. Over all it was very well written and the things that happen in it make the beginning make more sense, but you have to keep reading in order to figure that out. I also wish it had a bit more to it. I think the next one will be even better and I'm looking forward to it.
This is definitely not your typical thriller. Chris Colmenero has brought inside jokes and the day to day comments from our Facebook group where she is an admin and turned them into a funny and unique book.
Non-members will be able to relate to popular author’s names and book titles and probably recognize some well used phrases from the psychological thriller world.
I found the plot to be a unique one and completely enjoyed being in on the jokes!
Easy 5 stars for me. If you’re a member of the psych thriller group on Facebook & haven’t read this yet….what are you waiting on?? I loved the humor, the characters, & the ending. I also loved the authors that were mentioned specifically chapter 39 (dear autocorrect it’s NEVER duck) & my favorite Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid.
This is one of the more unique books that I've read in a while. The humor is perfection and adds to the story. The book references and jokes from the group were tastefully done. They felt natural, not forced at all. I was sucked in until the end.
A female serial killer that travels and kills off rude and annoying people on her Facebook group page. I was intrigued. I can't quite pinpoint what exactly it was, but I felt like this story was lacking something. It took me longer to finish this because it didn't hold my interest. I also didn't care for the annoying rhyming that JoDi/Mike did about killing their victims.

I really enjoyed this book and I can see a sequel in the works - I hope. Very surprising ending. Needs to be better proofed. Not the best book I have ever read, but certainly deserves 4 stars. If you have a chance and see it - pick it up. It really doesn't disappoint.
Just finished X Members of the Facebook Group & it's honestly probably one of my favourite reads of this year! I was hoping to see my name, but with over 300k members in our FB group I wasn't expecting it.
As a PSW and a mom of little toddler it takes me a bit to finish and actually like remember a book but I devoured this one. Skipped some chores during naps and read on breaks at work and stayed up way to late 😂
First off, this book was a thriller with twists I wasn't expecting and had me saying, "No way!" Out loud and had me questioning/wondering and kept me reading. It was also hilarious and full of inside jokes that literally had me laughing out loud. Like, "I released a fart I didn't realize I was holding" & Chapter 39. It had multiple character views, which in a book I actually love. For me, it keeps my mind going and not getting bored with a book. It's rare to read/hear about female serial killers, so that was also a bonus point for me, and diving into her brain was mwah *chef's kiss* There was a few things touched on, with history/facts on that I find as interesting topics personally so that was really cool (I don't want to share these topics as it may be a spoiler) A bonus for me was the shout-out to Nursing Homes and how they're understaffed and how hard that staff tries. As a PSW in a long term care home that touched my heart. The author also shared some personal information with me on a post in our group about it that had me tearing up. You also got to read and learn a little about the inner workings of an Admin and how FB rules & regulations are and I hope with each person that reads this book, they will ease up on the Admins. They are real people with real lives and doing this for fun and love of reading and can't control FB sensors.
I will also now compare any comfortable relationship in my life to a gray hair.
Thank you Chris Colmenero I thoroughly enjoyed every word of this book. Thank you for the laughs, the personal tears and the gasps. I can not wait for the sequel.
I was one of the lucky ones to get a free ebook copy in exchange of an honest review. So here it is (please don’t put me on the ledger 😇). I felt that this book was too overhyped because of using members name. They are excited to see their name and be one of the characters. I felt that the first few chapters (1-33ish) was all over the place which made me confused at some point. A few repetitive sentences like, “I let go of my breathe,I didn’t know I was holding”. There are some funny scene and eye rolling questionable scene. I did not get into it until Ch34 and then I couldn’t stop reading. There was a twist that made me gasped. Overall, I enjoyed reading it. A roller coaster feeling and I will recommend this to my friends.
I really enjoyed this book! It was fun and fresh, and I love some of the phrases the characters come out with. I laughed out loud countless times. My excitement wants to give it 5 stars for the unique wittiness, fun references to our group, idea and plot points, and the characters really came to life on the page in a big way!
The only part I had a bit of a hard time with is the timeline itself, which was jumpy sometimes, I didn’t always follow exactly what was going on or that time had passed or how something had developed. But for me that was the only slightly clunky aspect of the story. This is a first full-length novel and I’m sure those things will smooth out as Chris continued to write!
Miss nasty little critter, I wish you didn’t litter. I’m not bitter, I’ll throw your ashes like glitter…
I loved the little quirks about famous books and the feelings JoDi had about Books. I felt that she was able to put into words better than I ever could how I felt about books! This book showed the readers that everything happens for a reason… no stone was left unturned. The twists in this one were phenomenal and I hope we get a second Book?!
What?!?!? A cliffhanger!??!? Is there a sequel? I need a sequel. I'll go check on Amazon.. also, can I be recruited lol??? This story gives a great blend of humor and mystery. Not exactly mystery, but just a few questions dangled in front of the reader that kept me turning pages trying to get answers.. Would this be considered a cozy psych thriller? Is that a even a thing?. Doesn't matter. I enjoyed it no matter what it's classified
This book had humor, twists, and such a fun quick read with some thrills. It’s such a good book if you’re looking for a quick read or palette cleanser. Also is a very different thriller read than what I am used to, which I enjoyed. I would be very interested in reading a sequel to this as that ending was jaw dropping.
Would I recommend? Yes, definitely check out this book.
This delightfully wacky read was like stumbling upon a crazy relative at a family reunion - it was a riotous romp through all the literary stereotypes we love to grumble about in hushed tones. The moment I dived into the Facebook group shenanigans run by the MC, I was like, "Aha! I know this trainwreck!" It was a laugh-out-loud, all-around entertaining ride!
I thought it was great! Such a fun read, great if you are looking for something not so heavy! It has a ton of dark humour which is awesome. Maybe I loved it more because it was relatable with all of the references to things that have happened in the Facebook group I am part of! It made it a lot of fun to read, recognizing names from there (including my own) is always fun and exciting. 😋
Thanks for writing this Christina Colmenero, I look forward to seeing what JoDi gets up to next 😜
Run, don’t walk to this hilarious twist of turns, southern sayings, hilarious, angry making, marvelous book! I was born and raised in MS, and the southern sayings were killing me, and brought me back to my childhood!
So many twists. I was not expecting that ending!
It’s written with humor (dark & light), has profanity, and a little smut, be ware if that’s not your thing!
I wanna say a big THANK YOU to Christina who gave me a chance to review X Members of the FB Group in exchange for a review! You did an amazing job writing this based on Psychological Thriller Readers!!!!
