Thaeia now knows who she is and what it means to have her power. That truth has broken her. The darkness of her magic threatens to consume her in her grief and anger. She’s like a crashing wave of violence and rage. Her friends are unwavering in their support, but Thaeia fears even they may not be able to survive what she’s unleashed inside herself ... Because now that she knows the truth, the only thing left is ... revenge.
T. B. Wiese is a military spouse, dog mom, photographer, Disney nerd, and lover of spicy fantasy. She loves animals (She grew up with dogs and working with horses, including working at the Tri-Circle D Ranch at Disney World), so don’t be surprised when you find yourself reading lovable animal characters in her novels.
She has loved reading since she was little, and her tbr list is embarrassingly long, but she’s always looking to add more, so if you have a spicy fantasy recommendation, pass it along.
✨ Of Power & Darkness (Forsaken By The Gods Book 3) by T.B. Wiese ✨
When I stared reading this series I was surprised when she introdused Thaeia and Nor. I thought this was going to be a friends to lovers romance but then it went a completely opposite route and I was so confused I decided I was going to tag along for the ride. I loved how she was able to put into words how much Thaeia was the curse of the town and how everyone hated her but at the same time that only made Thaeia stronger and more determine to prove to her self how brave and strong she actually was. I was absolutely surprised when Valsan and Keir were introduced and where things were heading with the storyline. There was alot of twists happening but T.B. did such a great job with the flow speed making sure you didnt get lost with all the new details that were happening. I love how Thaeia was able to embrace her powers, however I will admit that I was so not prepared for lossing the character that we did and I have no shame in admitting that I was hoping and wishing that there was going to be some sort of miracle and she was going to bring the side character back. I'm still mad about it and sad at the same time. TB, you did me dirty on that one. (JK .....not really lol). This series was fantastic!

Thaeia finally knows her truth. About her lineage and her void. But it came at a heavy price. As the grief and anger threaten to consume Thaeia, her power rages out of control causing a country wide magic black-out. Her friends try to help as they deal with their own grief, but she feels torn, uncertain she won’t hurt them herself. She must learn to control her new magic to get the one thing her new darkness wants … revenge.
This was so good. The ending of the last book left me heartbroken. And a good portion of the beginning of this book is everyone dealing with the grief of losing Halee. It was so well written, I couldn't help but feel everyone's grief. This entire book was just such an amazing way to end the series. Even at the final confrontation, I was shocked at Vespers full power. I'm sad to see the story end but at the same time glad there were so many HEA’s. And just that final line
“I am Thaeia. And that is enough”
Perfect ending. Can’t wait to see what T.B. Wiese has next in store for us.
Rating 5 stars *I received a review copy from the author for my voluntary and honest review
Of Power & Darkness T.B Wiese is book three in the Forsaken by the Gods Series. I’ve been reading this series since the very first book and I loved it more and more. Each one is just getting better. After the ending of the second book that left me an emotional wreck I was eagerly awaiting this book. This novel picks up right after that and the way it’s written you can feel the grief; you can feel the emotions. I was definitely in a roller coaster of a ride with all my feelings. This had the perfect amount of plot and spice, it’s one of my favorite fantasy series. The growth and character development is amazing from book one. This is a bittersweet book for me because on the one hand I loved reading the ending and how everything tied up. But on the other hand I'm sad that it’s over. T.B Wiese did an amazing job with worldbuilding and the descriptions made you feel like you were there. The ending was wonderful and the last and final line was perfect in my opinion. What a fabulous series.
1 star - hated it/DNF 2 stars - just okay 3 stars - I really liked it! 4 stars - I loved it and am obsessed! 5 stars - mind blown/world changed/what is life
My rating scale is all wonky and very specific so while this technically doesn’t make it to my overall 5 star category, it easily gets an honorary fantasy 5 stars!!
I absolutely LOVED this book and the entire trilogy! I loved all the characters, I loved that it didn’t drag out unnecessary plots just for the thrill, I love that it didn’t give in to stereotypical overplayed tropes, I loved that it made me feel all my emotions so fully in every direction, I loved the relationships and dynamics between everyone, and it turns out that I actually love fast burn (NOT INSTALOVE!! I hate insta which this is not!) more than slow burn cause it gives you all the giddiness but none of the eye-roll inducing ridiculousness of the will-they-won’t-they-when-we-already-know-they-will-so-just-get-on-with-it!
So yeah, if it’s not obvious by now - I LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS TRILOGY!!!!
The first half of the book had me in a chokehold but the rest just didn’t do it for me. The pace seemed both rushed and slow at the same time. I was heart broken by the character loss.
All in all I’m happy with the conclusion of the series. Not the best series I’ve read but not even close to the worst. I thoroughly enjoyed all three books of the series, obviously, since I finished it in three days. While it is definitely a fantasy romance, I’d say the biggest theme is found family. Thaeia found a family that will stay by her for her entire life, which will now hopefully be a long and happy one. And I hope the characters who didn’t get the ending they wanted, find happiness as well.
I really enjoyed this series! I absolutely think it is worth the read and it satisfied my "readers itch" when I finished other popular series, like Throne of Glass and Daughter of No Worlds. I liked the first and second books a lot more than this final one, just because it felt very slow comparatively to the action in the first two. However, I think this wrapped everything up really nicely and again this was an amazing series!

What a beautiful and heart-felt felt ending for Thaeia and for an amazing fantasy series. ❤️
Highly recommend this for lovers of anime inspired adult fantasy, FM & MM romances throughout the trilogy, multiple POV, spice, magic, action and adventure, loss and grief, and found family.
I am so glad I found TB on tiktok and gave this series a go. This has been an amazing ride! TYSM for letting me be an ARC reader for all three books!
The first half of this book had me invested and SOBBING. It was heartbreaking and beautiful. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 ⭐️ is because the ending was slow but also rushed. Kind of odd and didn’t give me that “YES” moment. I still enjoyed this book/series so much, definitely recommend.
The fantasy aspect was unique and definitely well thought out. World building and peace was great. Romance to plot ratio was perfect.
I had to stop reading at 70% to sleep, but the story consumed me to the point that I dreamed about it and it continued to keep me up all night. In a good, I love these characters and worry about them, way. (finished the book the next morning, first thing). Shortly before my sleepless night, though, I was sobbing my eyes out. I can't pinpoint what it is about this author's writing style or story telling that I connected with so much, but I did. I will definitely look for more from thus author.
Be prepared to feel so many feelings. So many tearful moments, and angry moments, and happy times. I was so happy to see her find herself in the end. I'm only sad it's over.
I absolutely love the world that TB Wiese has created. It’s filled with magic and adventure, but the soul of this trilogy is the friendships that were formed within the newly found family.
These characters have become extremely vivid to me and I truly feel sad to say bye to them.
This final book had me smiling, laughing, and shedding many tears. Each character’s arc ended on a very satisfactory note and the journey we took with them from book one feels complete.
I would totally recommend this series to anyone who enjoys adventure, magic, found family, spice, rich world-building, and fallible characters who aim to grow.
Of Power & Darkness is the perfect conclusion to Thaeia and Nor's epic journey. Reading of Power & Darkness was an emotional rollercoaster, and I didn't want it any other way. It has the perfect amount of spice an epic fantasy story! Our couples have to fight for their happy endings, and I'm so glad to see the growth in Nor and Thaeia's friendship from book 1. I still find myself daydreaming about these books long after I finished each. I can't help but wonder what type of magic I could get! Forsaken by the Gods is hands down my favorite fantasy series of 2023. T.B. Wiese is an amazing author, and I will read ANYTHING she writes.
OMG I LOVE THIS BOOK! I love this series! This book promises revenge, love, hope, and…did I mention revenge? There are plenty of twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat!
The writing is fantastic and I love the characters! The story weaved through all three books is phenomenal! This series has everything! It has both a MF and a MM romance with spice for both. There is courage, honor, heart, found family, and adventure. Name an emotion and it’s probably in there. If your looking for a great story with magic, love, and spice, look no further. Read this series!
