The worst part?
She's not so sure she wants out.

I'm a 28 year old erotic romance Indie Author residing in Michigan, which is also where I like to set most of my stories. I adore alternative fashion and vegging out to early 2000's pop-rock. When I'm not passionately plotting, drafting, or editing, I'm usually playing games, making covers or watching cheesy romantic dramas.
*I write books under the pen names, Dae Storm, D.M Winters and Darling Day. AKA D, D & D. I am however phasing out D.M. Winters.
How I rate the books I read:
I'm rarely unhappy with a book and very rarely rate books under 4 stars. I'm very easy to please.
If I DNF a book due to personal preference, I will NOT rate it at all. I only rate DNF's that were not finished due to serious editing/grammatical issues and/or prejudice content.
This is how I rate things:
1 Star: I had to DNF due to serious editing and/or prejudice issues.
2 Stars: I finished the book but did not like it due to serious editing and/or prejudice issues, but it had some redeeming qualities.
3 Stars: It was a solid read, but didn't draw me in as much as I'd have preferred. OR I enjoyed the concept and story but there was serious editing issues of some kind that pulled me from enjoying it as much as I might have otherwise.
4 Stars: I really really liked the book, and would likely read again, but only after finishing up my TBR.
5 Stars: I LOVED this book and will be reading it again, probably soon. Probably already rereading it.
The majority of my ratings are 4 or 5 stars, because as stated previously, I know what I like to read and am easy to please.
Dumped by her boyfriend (on her birthday) for her best friend, Renee's life is in the sewer. Angry at all the crap she's had to deal with topped by the latest cruelty, she is confronted by a monster while waiting for an Uber ride. Weirdly creepy and utterly fascinating, Storm's storyline hooked and pulled me in. Definitely not a vanilla love story, I tried to anticipate events to come without success. My first read of the author's work which introduced me to the monster Hale and had me rooting for her relationship with Renee. 5 stars for a hot and unusual Halloween romance.
This is my first monster romance. If they're all like this I'm hooked! When Renee's boyfriend breaks up with her on her birthday, for her bestfriend, her rage is unbelievable. Instead of getting an Uber she walks in the rain, screaming. When all of a sudden she feels like she's being followed. She turns around and sees a monster. Her name is Hale. This is a fascinating story and HOT!! Also, some violenc. I'm giving it to 5 stars!!
While I liked the general premise of this, the connection between the main characters was a bit lacking for me. They had lots of chemistry and fun primal play, but very little connection beyond that.
Spice: 5/5
Triggers: violence, gore, murder, torture by side character, dubcon, kidnapping, cheating (past partner with bestie), references to abusive parent, unwanted restraint, anxiety and fear, chronic pain, blood drinking, forced feeding for nutrition, accidental neglect of pet, arachnid side character, war (mention), dementia (mention), physically eating human (mention), soul eating
I’m usually not super into monster romances (I do enjoy them every once in awhile). I have new read or even heard of a sapphic monster romance until I saw this book. The second I saw it I new I had to read it. I barely even skimmed the blurb before downloading it. It was amazing! It’s definitely in my top 5 monster romances and I’m so glad I found it.

2.5 stars. A pretty okay little erotic novella, but ultimately kind of disappointing. We're following Renee, who's just been through a terrible breakup, when she gets kidnapped and menaced by an alluring monster woman, and a romance develops. It's the kind of story that's meant to be low on plot and high on steam, and it succeeded at that, but idk man, the world-building around the paranormal creatures and the other world was SO THIN that it couldn't NOT bug me. It was one of those books where I feel like the setting was never described in any meaningful way, so I could never really picture the characters in any fixed place. That type of description wouldn't have taken a lot of world-building; just a few sentences. The plot, such as it was, was so bland and boring. And it was very clearly not edited, which I tried to ignore, but I couldn't, with all the blatant, recurring typos and punctuation errors. The main character also kept being described as 'turning pink', which really irked me.
Yes, yes, I know, it feels like I'm trying to buy a nailgun from a Wendy's. It's supposed to be a fun and sexy paranormal romp, and I suppose I should judge it solely based on that. I mean, I picked it up because that's what I wanted. It was indeed sexy, and fine overall, but I can't help but thinking of all the ways it could have been good, or great, with a little doctoring. Ah well. I don't regret borrowing it. On to the next.
3.25⭐ This was my first monster romance and I definitely had fun. Probably gonna check out some more in the future.
I really enjoyed it at the beginning but it just got boring to the point I didn't even really care anymore. I definitely enjoyed the spice even though I usually don't read for spice and don't love it. Their lives seemed so boring that it made me feel kinda depressed, since basically nothing happened and all they did was eat, talk and have sex.
3.5⭐️ - so much potential! How frustrating … some parts were so, SO good, but then other aspects would just really fall short.
On the amazing side, the character building and the fire between the 2 FMCs was brilliant! Loved it … the push and pull of pleasure and pain, love and fear, known and unknown. The spice was off the charts!! … I mean, like “put down the book and walk away for a few minutes to slow your heart rate” kind of off-the-charts!
I’m also drawn to stories with characters that have significant differences from one another and truly cherish those differences. Mmmm beautiful.
Amongst all that goodness, there were things I just couldn’t get past - 1. Aside from the sex and MC interaction, no real plot developed until almost 80% into the book. 2. Missed world building opportunities … the setup was perfect, but a big opportunity missed as the reader ends still knowing very little about the world. 3. Poor editing. This kills me. :( typos, wrong word substitutions, wrong contractions … ugh! 4. I don’t want to give anything away, but for me the conclusion was less than satisfying
I come back to, this book should have been a 5 star!! I would recommend reading it. The author is clearly very talented … just too many opportunities missed. 🌷🏳️🌈
I recently discovered this author's work, and it was quite the refreshing experience. The character development and world-building were incredibly descriptive, immersing me in a vividly crafted setting. However, I did find myself yearning for a bit more detail when it came to visualizing the various monsters in the narrative.
Nonetheless, the storytelling itself was exceptional, keeping me engaged throughout. I'm eagerly anticipating more stories featuring additional characters, as the author has skillfully laid the foundation for further exploration of this intriguing world. What I really liked is its uniqueness within the sapphic monster genre. It offered a storyline that defied the typical tropes, making it a compelling and memorable read.
Our heroine is not having a good day, and getting lost in the woods where she sees something she should not does not make it any better. This is a bit of a problem for our second heroine as well, but there is more to the situation than either of them understands.
This is a short erotic romance of the FF monster sort. The story is well written and easy to read with a fun set of characters. I really enjoyed the chemistry between them, the touch of the unusual and the steam. Put it all together and it made for a very relaxing evening read.
Highly recommended.

“Do not quiet yourself, Little One,” she growled. “You are mine, and I will hear you.”
I heard sapphic monster romance with primal play and downloaded this arc immediately. And it did not disappoint. I loved Hale and Renee, their relationship, and the way they grow together. The sex scenes were hot and the aftercare was very sweet. I was LIVING for the bathing scenes, they’re my favorite. Also loved the friendship both main characters had with Madriel and I would 100% read a book just about them.
Thank you to the author/BookSprout for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Wow. That was some serious smut. Yes yes, there's plot... there's also a kitty cat and a side character that you'll adore, but demon creature with a bit more equipment than most, a wandering soulmate, and a wee bit of plot made for a steamy read. Seriously NSFW... maybe read it whilst home alone bc if anyone asks what you are reading or what it's about, you'll be damned to find the right words to describe what you are reading. This was my first book with this trope (monster romance) so I tried not to have particular expectations going in. I was somewhat pleasantly surprised, although it did take me a minute to fully get into the idea. The good thing is that the writing is good. I think for a novice to the genre like me, I needed a bit more time or development before the characters got together. That said, it was still a good story with plenty of steam.

3 stars. Really cool premise and world building. I think the writing needed to be edited a bit and the change from Renee being terrified of Hale and wanting to escape her to then wanting to be kept by her was jarring. It didn’t flow well at all and made no sense to me. It was way too rushed. I did like the two of them together though. The sexual chemistry between them was off the charts and there were some really hot scenes in this. I liked the side character, Madriel, they were fascinating and I wouldn’t mind reading another book set in this world. It’s definitely unique.
I had never heard of a sapphic monster romance until I saw this book. My curiosity won out and I chose it for my next read. While it was original and interesting, I don’t think I will read another. The world-building was great the types of monsters interesting, and their relationships with humans unusual. The dual POV kept me reading and made it worthwhile. I’d give it 3.5 stars.

The kindle version had many spelling and editing typos. I enjoyed the characters and world building but it felt like there wasn’t much plot happening until the 80% mark.
