THOUGHTS: It's been a hot minute since I've read an AR novella! This was super cute. It has a twist on the classic Cinderella story, with her having stepbrothers instead of stepsisters. I enjoyed it. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

One of the reviewers said this one was like the old Alexa Riley classics so I knew I had to hop on this one!
I was really excited to read that it was a take on the classic Cinderella story but with evil stepbrothers instead of stepsisters and a wonderful stepmother who steps in to be a mother since she lost her's so early in life. We really don't need any more catty portrayals of secondary female characters and let's be honest, its more on brand with men to have evil stepbrothers who want to steal a family fortune.
Ella (h):Heir to Cinder Financials and the orphaned daughter who has to live with her stepbrothers. Unfortunately the accident that left her without a father, caused brain damage to her stepmother and only mother figure she has ever know. Now all alone in the world, she has to navigate the cruelty of her older stepbrothers who wish to control her.
It was so nice to read that despite her controlling stepbrothers, who fired most of the staff at the estate, Ella had Oliver and other staff members who looked out for her and always had her back. Plus before the accident, Ella had such a healthy relationship with her stepmom Fiona, who really did love her like a daughter.
The way that Fiona was always trying to be in Ella's corner during her lucid moments was so sweet to read.
“Once again, I fight back tears. Fiona has always been so kind when it comes to my mom. There was never jealousy or her trying to wash her from our home. The same can’t be said for her sons, and I often thought she and my father were friends more than anything.”
Leo (H): The head of the Prince family and the CEO of Prince Enterprises meets Ella while attending the Vault twin's event and their night together results in her leaving quickly at midnight. He spends the next few months apart going crazy searching for her. Leo was such a lovable and obsessed hero. Nothing was going to keep him away from Ella, even if she mistakenly thinks he might be friends or close with her evil brothers. He works very hard and earnestly to gain her trust and be everything she needs!

It has been years since I've read an Alexa Riley novella, which is crazy to think about, considering how much I used to adoreee them 😭. Anyway, reading this just made me feel weirdly nostalgic about their writing: it was really sweet overall. I am a Cinderella girl through and through, so I will never say no to a retelling.

Ella ha estado prácticamente encerrada en su finca desde que su padre murió y su madrastra cayó enferma. Sabe que poco a poco está perdiendo el control de la herencia que le dejó su padre por culpa de sus hermanastros y a punto de cumplir 21 le quedan meses hasta perderlo todo... excepto que cumpla las dos pequeñas condiciones que puso su padre: estar casada o quedarse embarazada. Pero dado que está encerrada en la casa cualquiera de las dos cosas es imposible. Hasta que se celebra la fiesta anual de su familia en la casa y ella conoce al misterioso Prince... tan misterioso que la única noche que pasan juntos es inolvidable pero al no haberse dicho sus nombres será difícil volver a encontrarse... o no?
Pues ha estado bastante bien, un poco mejor que los últimos que escribieron pero aún así todavía siento que les falta un chaschas más JAJAJAJAJAJAJ. Es una historia cortita y amor a primera vista, también embarazo a primer... bueno ya sabéis 🤣. Para pasar el rato está perfecto.

This gave me the feeling of some of Alexa Riley’s older books, and I absolutely loved it! I loved the fairy tale romance aspect of the story, and I can’t wait for more of they’re all going to be like Leo Prince and Ella Cinder.

A Cinderella retelling with evil stepbrothers instead of an evil stepmother.
Ella is trapped in her family home, when her father dies in a car accident she was left with her sweet stepmother Fiona, who suffered a brain injury, and her two evil stepbrothers, Matthew and Jace. They want to take over her father’s company, Cinder Financial and they want Ella. They keep her isolated her only friends are her long time cook and her stepmother. There are stipulations in her father’s will that say she must be married and be pregnant or have had a baby by 21. Then she will have control of her father’s company.
During a party the stepbrothers hold Fiona is having a good day and gets Ella ready to attend the party. She tries to stay out of view of her stepbrothers and isn’t doing well with so many people gawking at her. She goes and hides out in the library.
Leo Prince is a very wealthy man who is attends the party with his mother, when he spies a figure in a blue dress sneaking away he feels compelled to follow. He sees Ella in the library and is instantly in love. He doesn’t waste any time and kisses her. She asks his name and he tells her it’s Prince. He’s so driven by need for her he does not ask her name. Kissing leads to oral sex and then their first time. She’s a virgin, no mention of his past. She’s very flustered after when the clock strikes midnight. There is a huge commotion and she takes advantage of it and escapes from Leo.
Two months later she finds out she pregnant. Meanwhile, Leo has been going nuts trying to find his mystery woman. His best friend Flynn helps him. He gets in touch with Ella’s cook and takes Leo to meet with him. There he finds Ella and whisks her away to his home. The evil stepbrothers aren’t happy, Leo takes her when they are out.
She’s happy at Leo’s house, she likes his mom and his sister Zelly. She worries about Fiona and her cook, but Leo tells her to trust him.
He finds out all the dirt on the stepbrothers and has them arrested. They had taken all their mother’s money and were drugging her to make her confused so they could steal from her.
Epilogue with a baby boy and them all happy.

I did enjoy this. Alexa Riley has a new series, to do with classic fairytales and this is a Cinderella retelling in the series, this is the first installment with our hero Prince, and his heroine, Ella. Ella lost her father and has her sweet stepmother and her evil twin stepbrothers. The stepbrothers hide Ella, so haute society don't even know that she even exists. It is for a reason. When she turns 21 she gets all of the Cinder Financials business, trust and holdings, and she is able to kick the brothers out. The only stipulation is that she has to have a child or be pregnant before then. The reason her father put this in her will, is to encourage her to have kids young. She was a surprise late in her parents life, and he missed out and was dying, knowing he wasn't going to see his little girl grow up. He did not want that for her. It seemed a wierd stipulation to put in a will and I know that this was to move the plot along for a surprise pregnancy and to hide that she had the winning hand at keeping her father's business, all she has to do is hide it from the brothers and she has her confident and chef/pseudo father, Oliver. (I love Oliver!! He really protected our girl and was very much like a fairy God father!).
Prince has his buddy Flynn, clearly in love with Prince's sister Zella (the set up for their story is intriguing) and he helps Prince find his girl. Finally they find each other, and he is thrilled that she is carrying his baby and is ready to start their life together, with her step mother, her two cats Gus and Jaq, and Oliver the chef!
We get a hint at a third story, between a hulking lumberjack looking man named Damien and his wife Annabelle. He chases after Annabelle who seems to have amnesia, so this must be an amnesia story with an already married couple.
Well, this was all right. It was a good intro to the series, and I am glad we met all the characters. This was a very light read and it would have been great if the hero just flat out said he was a virgin. He just assured Ella that he doesn't fuck random women. I do believe he is, with his inner monologue. I just wish he said it directly so there is no doubt. It's ok though, and both Flynn Damien are like him. They are never seen or frequent women, so I am hoping since this is a traditional fairy tale retelling with some elements sprinkled throughout, that we get dual virgin romances in all three stories. What I hope is that Alexa Riley is direct and tells us it is so, so we can do the dual virgin happy dance!!
I enjoyed it, it was a light one time read and a good intro to more true love stories, and I am excited for them!

What sets this story apart is the shift in focus from evil stepmothers to wicked stepbrothers, offering a unique angle to the classic narrative. The characters are generally likable, and the story does lead our protagonists, Ella and Leo, to their happily-ever-after, complete with a bundle of joy.

Argumento:
Ella Cinder perdió a su padre y ahora la madrastra que adoraba no puede recordarla. Después de ser encerrada por sus malvados hermanastros, un encuentro casual con un Príncipe lo cambia todo.
Como cabeza de familia, Leo Prince debe cumplir con su deber y tomar una novia. Lo que no espera es echar un vistazo a la bella desconocida y renunciar a todas sus responsabilidades.
Mi humilde opinión:
Un romance con atracción instantánea, aventura de una noche, bebé sorpresa, héroe obsesivo, retelling de Cenicienta.
La historia de amor fue rápida, exagerada y dulce con un buen steamy, el típico Instalove de AR: héroe OTT+una heroína que le encanta.
El cuento clásico tiene una vuelta de rosca, la madrastra es el hada madrina, los hermanastros gemelos son los villanos, los ratones amigos de Cenicienta eran gatos y el héroe alfa pierde el zapato!
La verdad disfruté esta lectura rápida. Espero la historia de la hermana de Leo y su mejor amigo.

This was a retelling of Cinderella with an Alexa Riley twist to it which wasn't so bad. Ella Cinder has been orphaned but her stepmother is amazing to her, it's her stepbrothers who are trying to take everything from her. On the night of a party, she meets Prince who sleeps with her the moment her sees her. Leo Prince is the CEO is Prince Enterprises and never goes to other company parties but is forced to go to the Cinder Financials celebrations. At the party he sees the most beautiful woman, dances with her then proceeds to just pull up her dress and have sex with her. That's the part that I didn't care for, AR heroes have a tendency of just pulling these woman's clothes off and just have sex. I did like the way the story wasn't about evil stepmothers but evil stepbrothers and most of the characters were likable but it was something about the insta-love/lust that didn't do it for me in this particular story. Ella and Leo did get their HEA with a baby to boot.

Me resulta ASQUEROSO que minimice el abuso físico y emocional del personaje principal masculino hacia el personaje principal femenino. Ni que decir que la trate como una planta y que encima se disfrace de amor.

2.5 stars. this was a birthday gift from lovely Sam so I was disappointed I didn’t enjoy it more. It has insta love and possessive hero like in all AR books but I felt like this one was more focused on the drama about the heroine’s step brothers than in the romance. It wasn’t bad but I felt like there was only one or two romance scenes.

Loved this one soooo much! Classic AR! Love the twist on the fairytale trope!!
Totally safe. Possible virgin hero. If not, zero info on past, absolutely not a manwhore. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to her hero. No others (there’s some minor unwanted OM drama but heroine isn’t interested), no cheating or sharing. HEA with epilogue

I am a sucker for a fairy tale, especially a spicy one, and Alexa Riley completely delivered that in this novella. It was spicy, sweet, and just hit all the right notes! I am ready for so many more stories in this world! I want and need them all!

I loved reading this twisted fairytale. It was loosely based on the original fairytale, but the twists and turns were unexpected and fun. I loved the last chapter where all was revealed. Loved their ending, and the start of another tale.

I wish we got more of an ending with the two brothers and a larger explanation for what they were planning. It's easy to read between the lines, but damn Ella sure lucked out before they truly dragged her into their sick scheme.

Honestly it’s probably a 3 star read but AR has been such a dud lately that this felt so much more like their early books which I loved so I gave it a 4. Loved the storyline. Well written. Great ending.

Well written dirty fairytale novella! Reads like Alexa Riley’s older fairytale books. Also loved all the Easter eggs in the plot referencing potential other couples.
