A SATISFYING AGE GAP ROMANCE

When Natalia is ready to escape her horrible ex and finally find a job, her best friend Lily puts her in touch with a marketing job. Imagine her surprise when she discovers she will be working for Lily’s father, Lucas Wilkins, who despises Natalia for all her notorious efforts in corrupting his daughter when she was younger. When Natalia meets and exceeds his expectations on the job, the two begin an odd attraction between a woman in her twenties and a man well into his fifties. It is an interesting storyline with Lucas as a former Navy Seal who suffers PTSD, and who is still dealing with anxiety over his Seal memories and wife’s death from cancer, followed by former financial failure and his failure in raising his daughter. Natalia has her own personal plight with her parents’ divorce and their distant relationship, along with her horrible experience in dealing with her stalking ex.

Soon, Natalia and Lucas are drawn to each other despite their age difference and the disdain their relationship would draw from his daughter. Despite it all, the two smolder in each others arms, and fight their attraction until they are once again together. She gets him and provides him with acceptance that he is still good enough and brings him out of his shell.

When a surprise pregnancy sends Natalia to resign from her job and retreat to her hometown, Lucas finally realizes he would be a fool to let her go.

The book is well edited, which I found very refreshing. I would have liked more background into Natalia’s character and felt the epilogue was a bit rushed.

Natalia is struggling to get a job and her best friend Lily recommends a job posting at Martek Publishing. Not knowing that the connection is leading to Lily's estranged Dad's publishing house. But Natalia needs work and she is going to get that job no matter what. Now if she can just stop looking and crushing on the attractive older man who is to be her new boss.

Lucas is older, hard working, and demands and expects a lot from his employees. He remembers the teenage Natalia and her devil may care attitude. He would not be tolerating that same mindset in an adult. She has a lot to prove to him if he hires her. He too is taking notice of Natalia.

There is an age gap, not sure how many years, the story didn't elaborate, but Lucas and Natalia are made for one another. They have chemistry and want each other. So... why not?! Lucas is an ex-Navy Seal, grumpy, suffers from PTSD, and carries a lot of hurt. Natalia also has past hurts with her Mom and a stalker ex-boyfriend. Together they bring the best out of one another. Lily will be hurt and angry by their secret relationship but she'll make peace with it. It's a nice little story of love and having second chances with life and finally feeling happy. Learning to love again

Natalia is struggling with job hunting and her best friend Lily suggests she try for a position with Martek Publishing that she's heard is hiring. Natalia is delighted when she gets an interview but shocked when she realises it's with Lily's dad, the CEO. She'd last seen him 7 years before when he was furious with the friends for going out to a concert and doesn't know if he'll look past her past self to give her a chance.

Lucas can see that Natalia has changed and gives her a chance but makes her prove she's right for the position. But after working together late one evening, a line is crossed and they get closer than they'd thought they'd allow themselves to as neither feel they deserve to be in a relationship. Lucas then invites Natalia to join him at a book publishing event at which he finds himself feeling protective towards her.

Can they work together and have something more? Can they help each other with their hurts, Lucas' PTSD from his past as a Navy SEAL and Natalia's problems with her mum and ex-boyfriend? And how will Lily react when she finds out about her dad and best friend?

A lovely, well written story, with a slow build steamy romance, great chemistry between the characters, secrets, misunderstandings and a great HEA.

Natalie has a new job and on the first day she meets her new boss - her best friends father, who has never liked her. Her determination of doing well in her job goes up against his last minute deadlines. Slowly they break down and have fun, which starts a second problem. Now she has to tell him, which brings their relationship out in the open.
Loved the chemistry between the two. The storyline has a roller coaster ride of emotions as they work through the relationship. Lots of tension, secrets, revelations, steamy moments and entertaining situations. Her mom is a real piece of work. Terrific ending and future.

This was my first book by Valencia Rose, but it won't be my last. Her writing was very easy to read and to follow.

Natalia the FMC was a young woman trying to find her way in the adult working world. She lands a job at a company where she is reunited with her friends father, Lucas. Lucas is now in his 50's when they meet again.

Lucas isn't to thrilled that his daughter's rebellious friend is now working for him. This book is an enemy to lovers, full of spice, novel. Will Lucas spill his secrets? Will they get their HEA?

I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story. I liked the 2 main characters and how the relationship differed now to when they first met. Being his daughter's best friend and knowing her from a bit of a tearaway teenager the relationship once they met up again didn't start off too well as he still thought of her as that type of person. She had to work had to proof him wrong! While doing so the relationship changed into something more personal. But both tended to hide their feelings which caused a few bumps along the way and caused misunderstandings. Could they both eventually talk openly to each other to get their relationship back on track???

He felt like she was wild and a bad influence on his daughter growing up. He is not a happy camper when he finds out she is his new employee. She works hard and is determined to impress him. But sparks begin to fly, and it doesn't take long for things to get steamy between them. What happens when she has a positive pregnancy test? You'll enjoy this enemy to lovers, age-gap romance. Emotionally intense, well-written love story. Natalia is an interesting female main character carrying trauma from her past that prohibits her from truly trusting herself. Lucas’ world has been fraught with devastation for nearly 30 years, and he struggles on an hourly basis with his PTSD. The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts, and Lucas’ daughter Lily being Natalia’s best friend added a great extra layer of complexity to this tale. The many plot twists and angsty scenes kept me engaged and rooting for all of them from start to finish.

Lucas isn’t happy when his new employee turns out to be his daughter’s best friend. He doesn’t like the girl at all , he feels that she was a bad influence on her growing up, so it’s up to Natalia to prove her worthy of the position. When they bare there selves , it’s soon quite a few positions that he enjoys from her , but what happens when this forbidden lover comes up with another bump in the road ( well her tummy) ? Full head of steamy and a beautiful story.

Tempted by Her Grumpy Boss

Good read

Enjoyed this story but I sure would lime to see us older girls get our chance as the men our age are going for TBE younger girls when there are plenty of us out here that would love a second chance at love whether we are widowed ,
divorced or just never found the right one ! We don't seem to get the chance because of the stigma of being cougers or gold diggers but it's okay for a older guy just so wrong on so many levels!

if you can get past inconsistent story..

This story is actually a 4 star story. But the story inconsistencies drove me crazy.
He is best friend’s dad that had a super cruddy adult life. She is troublemaker turned workaholic that has to figure out how to fight life for herself.
They go into relationship as an “oops”, then have to fight themselves for future.

Problems are with each characters back story.

don’t bother

DNF couldn’t, so poorly written who says ‘I’ll converse with you now’, converse !!
It has the feel of an Ai written boon the characters are wooden they story is pointless and the key moments unrealistic
I can’t think of a single redeeming feature of what I read.
Maybe it was written in another language and poorly translated I’m not sure but just awful also when was Guam war torn post WW2 !

A couple Valencia Rose title have been good, but here's another one that is terrible. Asshole MMC, unnecessarily unkind, and FMC scrambling to get a kind word of appreciation in some complicated business set up the author must have done some cursory research on.

Blah blah boring. Make me care about FMC and/or MMC in first 10%, or I guess I tap out.

He was in his 50’s and she just out of college, so 22-23ish. Big gap. Too old for her but I read it anyways. Writing was off a bit. Certain sentences didn’t make sense. Characters was odd as well, especially Him. But.
