Can I go back in time and not have read this story? I really love several of this author’s books. However, I don’t know how else to say this but I honestly did not connect to or enjoy this story.
Reign was just too over the top and kind of a disaster. There’s a difference between being self assured and confident and being self centered and bratty. She was the latter. I understood…she’s a strong independent woman who don’t need no man (or men in her case). That point was driven home…constantly. I love a fierce woman who knows her own strengths and wields her power with grace and passion. Reign didn’t. I don’t think by the end I truly understood who she wanted to be or who she really was.
But (yeah yeah, some people are probably rolling their eyes at me) I think a female can be strong WITH a strong male by her side. You don’t have to emasculate a hero to make the heroine a queen. So the whole dynamic between Reign and her men was really off putting for me.
The entire third act breakup was ridiculous and drawn out and made me irrationally angry. Especially that part with Dal. If you’ve read this, you know. The steam in here, while copious like I love, was redundant and cringy at times. It lacked depth and real emotion.
Listen, I’m the minority in the enjoyment level of this story so maybe it’s a me thing🤷🏻♀️. I still enjoy this author and will continue reading her releases but this one missed the mark for me in more ways than one.
Swifties! When I tell you this book is so Taylor Swift coded?! And like a true resident of Clownelia Street, I’m going to have to list all the blondie easter eggs I found.
🐍 Reign is a world-famous singer-songwriter who started her career young. After years in the industry, she disappears for months after being villainised and condemned by the media. She returns months later with a brand new look, rep and ”reinvention” album.
📷 Her friend and long-time producer is a guy called Jack and her former bestie is a supermodel.
🎤 She bought back her masters from her record label.
🏠 Jokes about being too loud in the house she bought with the money she made from the songs she wrote. There’s also an ”If I were a man…” internal monologue moment.
🕯️ She collaborates with another artist who has dabbled in country, folk, pop and rock. There’s a guy called Trav fgs!
🏹 And, part of the ending gave big The Archer vibes "You’ll stay?" "Like you could ever get rid of us".
Now, Swifties, I must warn you to proceed with caution. If you’ve never read a KA Knight book (ahem, Den of Vipers), you might not know that her books are generally insta-lusty why-choose kinky-smut-heavy with an action plot. The characters and dialogue can be cliché and cheesy but they’re generally a fun time. Please check the content warnings.
I should add too, that the fmc, Reign, is your classic KA Knight heroine. She doesn’t really take any shit, got a bit of an attitude and a flair for the dramatics. She’s certainly not giving pop princess if that’s what you’re looking for. One final thing I picked up – there’s a How I Met Your Mother olive theory moment but with mushrooms (strange but iykyk).
4 stars. Soooo….I guess I’m the only one who thinks Reign was kind of a bitch and treated her men like shit throughout this book? *sigh* This wasn’t my favorite from this author. I just ended up not really liking Reign.
"My life has never been easy, but it's been f*cking glorious, and before the lights dim and the outro plays, I will scar this world with my dreams, with my music, until the very end."
Another amazing read by KA Knight! And another series I'm sure will become my new obsession. Wow, this book was soooo good!! I devoured it, it was so hottttt! Reigh f*cking Harrow is a rockstar, she built her career from the ground up, coming from the streets and becoming one of the greatest rockstars in the music world. Until she finds her world crumbling, everything she thought she knew was a lie and only another PR scheme to look good for the media using her as a crutch. Reign was destroyed after all the hurt and betrayal but that only made her come back even stronger. After returning renewed and ready to finally make the world see who she really was, her PR management hires 4 high-end bodyguards for her safety. Raff, Dal, Cillian, and Astro are some of the best in the world, being ex-military and as dangerous as they can get, they are ready to do their job with everything they have and after meeting Reign, the concern for her safety deepens even more after realizing Reign was in more danger than they thought.
I'm absolutely obsessed with this world and I loved every second of this story! I can't wait to see Beck's book next and her story with her band and hopefully another delicious RH. Katie is one of my go-to authors and I love everything she writes. Her books always captivate me in a way that is addicting! Revolt was super steamy, fun, HOT, and a page-turner.
Who needs sleep? Not me 😅 Once I started this book, I simply could not put it down! Reign is one BAMF and I’m here for it 👏🏻 she’s used to being what everyone wants her to be. The fiancée, the rock princess, she lets everyone in her life make the decisions for her. Until one final betrayal pushes her over the edge. She then disappears overnight only to come back new & improved. She has found herself again and with it all new music. She is authentically herself & she gives zero fucks. What she doesn’t expect is 4 new bodyguards and let me tell you 🥵 I 1000% have a fave guy. There were parts of this book that pulled at my emotions, parts where I was screaming YAAAAASSS QUEEN, and parts where I legit laughed out loud. I also absolutely love Astro’s parents. And the cookies 😂 I absolutely devoured this book & cannot wait for the next one!
I can’t stop thinking about this book …. KA knocked it out of the park with Revolt … I cried, laughed & rolled my eyes with Reign, her bodyguards are (dare i say) BETTER than the Vipers….a constant reread for sure ♡
I definitely love this book for the tropes more than anything. Rockstar AND bodyguard romance are my favorites 🫠 Four Stars for the tropes that I love 3 for the overall story.
Mostly spice with no plot, but I here for it. K.A. Knight writes great spice👌🏼.
We still got a little bit of an insight of the FMC Reign. A look into the " behind the scenes" of the struggles she goes through being a female rockstar. I loved the badass she is and how she stuck up for herself and all females, she uses her voice and stage to speak up. I would've loved more backstories on each of the MCs, because I was starting to love each of them when we got a little taste of each.
Another book that did not disappoint. I love rock n roll and this book has that and so much more including 4 hot men and an amazing fmc that takes no bull and goes for what she wants. Reign drew me in from the start she's humble and strong and has overcome many bad things in her life. The plot also kept me guessing and the book had plenty of spice. I really can't praise this author enough because I love all of her books and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book with Beck.
If you want a why choose rockstar/bodyguard romance where the FMC is a total badass doing her part to take down the patriarchy while also getting railed to within an inch of her life, this is for you. KA Knight does spice so well. I’m definitely excited to jump into Beck’s story next.
KA Knight delivered an absolute knockout of a book with this one and I cannot wait for the next book about Beck and her men! Okay so now to fan girl a bit cause Reign is a total baddie and I absolutely loved her character. She has had a rough go of it all from her childhood to everything with Tucker that all you want is for this woman to be happy. Her character has so many layers to it and once you think you have a handle on who she is, she showed us a whole new side to her. I loved her as a boss lady and as the vulnerable scared girl too.
I was super surprised that the men weren’t my favorite characters in this book. Obviously Reign was but these guys were still pretty great. Raffiel is the clear leader in the group and gives off all sorts of daddy vibes. I love how he lets Reign lead outside of the bedroom but inside it is a whole other story. He protected her body and her soul with everything he has. It was sweet and so spicy at times.
Dal is the crazy one but like in a good way, ya know? He is fiercely loyal to Reign and the guys and is truly a scary weapon when needed. I loved seeing his jealous and possessive side come out where he would be absolutely unhinged at times. I definitely thought he’d be the darkest in bed but I was surprised by how not dark he was. He was giving me all the Diesel vibes but none of the crazy kinks.
Cillian and Astro were much lighter characters when compared to Raff and Dal. Astro is the goof of the group and the most lovable golden retriever while a Cillian is just out overall good guy. They each are playful with Reign and bring so much lightness to the story when it gets a bit heavy.
Katie can absolutely write the heck out of a RH why choose romance and she delivers some of the very best plots in her standalone without making them 9,000 pages long. The stalker aspect of the plot was on the more subtle side and focused heavily on their instant connection and growing those relationships even with enough baggage to fill a 757 among the five of them. I wasn’t surprised by the drama that unfolded towards the end of the book but that didn’t mean that it wasn’t spectacular. I loved every minute of their journey and I could not put this book down!
Reign Harrow, the princess of rock has been missing for months after a messy break-up with her ex, but now she's back and she's going to be reclaiming her crown. What she doesn't expect is to have four gorgeous men as her new security team. The connections in this I have to say are pretty quick, while there is sexual tension by the handful, there was less resistance than I was expecting from some of the men.
I absolutely adore Dal though. He's very much touch her and I will unalive you from the moment he meets her, and he has a lot of demons that most people dislike him for but Reign accepts him for who he is and she isn't scared of him which is great to see.
All the men are equally good looking and they all have their own unique personalities and backgrounds, though by the end of it, they all come from the same place, the military.
It's a really interesting world and we get to see the FMC for the next book in the series and I'm totally here for it.
This has been a series I’ve had on my TBR for quite sometime now, and I am disappointed I didn’t start it earlier. I love Reign and her band of smart mouthed, merc like men and their crazy little life they built for each other. Their stories all touched my heart, and I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the fact they just completely stole and rehomed Raff Jr. 😂 But you know what good on them because that puppy deserved to be loved and given a good life. This story was a 10/10 for me and the spice was definitely THERE!!
revolt follows the story of reign, the rockstar princess whose come back to raise hell. share her story through music and to make sure that those who have wronged her think twice. her four body guards, yes, bodyguards.
raffiel, the leader who craves control and order. cillian, the red headed sweetheart. dal, the psychopath who doesn’t know how to process emotions. and astro, the ever so charming pretty boy. one thing they all have in common? is their utter love, devotion, obsession, and their dark side when it comes to reign and her safety.
she was only suppose to be a job, but it turned out to be much more than that.
i think i’m obsessed with this world and neeeeed more.
This book was not it. The heroine was meh and the guys were worse. I barely remember them all. The stalker story was unnecessary and the random break up was ridiculous! It had so much potential to be so much more but honestly, this author hasn’t written anything noteworthy after DoV and DH. Let’s not even talk about the mess BoI was. Also the sex isn’t even exciting to read anymore. I’m honestly disappointed.
Seem to be in the minority here but I couldn’t make it through this one.
Insta-lust, boring MMCs, many cringy OTT moments that felt like they were meant to be epic or impactful.
FMC is supposed to have this “I’m a boss” moment when she puts a sexist car sales rep in his place. But it fell so flat for me! She spent $99 million to buy every car in the shop to prove a point to this pig after he wrongly assumes she’s using daddy’s money. Girl!! That’s not giving independent queen energy like you think, it’s giving “Hello, I’m horrible with money and I have a fragile ego” energy!
FMC is a musician and let’s say she’s as famous as Taylor Swift (net worth estimate $1.6 billion) which is questionable enough to assume. She spent 6% of her whole worth on petty revenge for some idiot that means nothing!! Also net worth isn’t the cash amount these celebs have on hand at any given time. I know I’m nit picking, but gosh it really was stupid of her.
Katie has done it again! I seriously do not know why I am surprised anymore that I have yet again rated one of her books 5 stars!
I could not put this book down and the only reason I didn't finish it in a day is because I fell asleep haha. In this book we follow Reign who is one boss babe rock star that let everyone in her life dictate what she could and couldn't do. Until now!
Now she doesn't let anyone rule her life or give them the ability to hurt her, well until she meets 4 amazing men Raff, Dal, Cillian and Astro that are sworn to protect her for the dangers in her life.
These men are ex military that are dangerous and will protect her from anyone that wants to cause her harm, and even some that just look at her. This book has everything. Love, Laughter, hurt, grief, sass and spice! I absolutely love every world that Katie writes and this one is no different. I love seeing the love grown between every character and that they all get their individual moments in the spotlight.
Katie sure knows how to write a stunning reverse harem that is unmatched so far and honestly I see why. This is a standalone although the universe may cross with others in the future I am sure. And I will forever read anything from this amazing author.
I have to say I’m really quite disappointed in this book. I’ve been a long time fan of this author. Some of their other series’s are some of my favourites stories ever.
But this one didn’t do it for me. At all.
I wouldn’t be so disappointed if it just didn’t resonate with me because you can’t warm to all books an author writes, because of trope dislikes etc. But I didn’t get on with this book because of some fairly basic requirements for a book. The dialogue was so clunky and cringy. The dirty talk was so bad I laughed out loud at various points.
There were plot inconsistencies which honestly had me gaping. One minute Reign would be wearing trousers then she wasn’t, for example.
The only way I can explain this book is ridiculous. Their argument and reasoning for it at the end was ridiculous and overblown. The beginning and her behaviour at the start was ridiculous. It was just all quite ridiculous.
I’m sad to write this review, because I’ve been reading this author’s books for years.
HOT HOT HOT! Rockstar romance! Female Rockstar with 4 Male Bodyguards Romance. Reverse Harem, very spicy. Along with these amazing troupes, this book is emotional, suspenseful, dramatic and funny. You will love this book! highly recommend!
So spicy! I love Katie’s books! Reign was a great FMC because I wanted to strangle her half the time & loved her attitude the other half. I’m such a sucker for the RH trope & alphahole protectors. KA Knight is the queen of guilty pleasures 🩶
𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬, 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐖/𝐓𝐖(𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳): MFMMM/why choose/rockstar romance/bodyguard/boys obsessed/possessive/praise/degradation/edging/DP/DVP/pierced for her pleasure
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰: Book one of the Legends and Love series. This is a standalone and can be read by itself. it will end with a HEA.
𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: Reign Harrow is the leading rock artist of her time… but fame demanded too much and fake relationships broke her, so she left. Just gone... disappeared. Now months later, she has returned to the lime light… but she is no longer the people pleaser she left behind. She’s no longer the sweet girl next door who does exactly what she is told. She spent her time away finding herself and digging deep into her soul for the music she wrote while she was gone and now she’s going to show the world just how she reigns.
Raffiel, Cillian, Astro and Dal took the security job of being Reign’s bodyguards knowing they’re only job was to protect her. What they bargained for and what they got are two totally different ends of the spectrum. Trying to remain inside the bounds of professionalism has never been so hard…
I loved this story so much. Katie will forever be an auto buy for me. Reign is a strong and determined FMC and she knows her worth… even if she took the time to find it. I love the minor revenge plot that is tied into this book. Sometimes the best revenge is just to be happy and know you deserve so much more. I love each of her guys equally. They all had different backgrounds that ultimately brought them together while in the military and they formed a bond, a family amongst themselves that was unbreakable. Even though they fought against their pull to Reign in the beginning, being in her immediate proximity at almost all times really allowed them to see under the curtain of strengthen Reign showed the world. I loved seeing them all open up and share their past, I love that Reign was able to connect and bond with each of them over some similarities and learning from the rest. I loved what she was able to find with Astro’s family. The one thing I will say about this is while there is a ‘villain’ aspect and a threat within the plot… that part of the story was a bit underwhelming I guess. To me, it definitely didn’t seem like a big plot point in the overall story… mainly just some choices characters made that factored around it. Either way, still a phenomenal book about finding hope, love and loyalty, opening your heart again and knowing that while you may get hurt, putting faith in the fact that it will all be worth it in the end.
“Nope, we are just here to make sure you shine.” Astro winks. “And baby, you shine so fucking brightly, no one will be able to look away.”
“Be a good girl and open your legs wide for me. Let me touch what you have so desperately been flaunting at us.”
We thought we were in control, but she’s ready to show us that’s completely wrong. Nobody controls Reign. She’s ready to revolt.
“Words, Miss Harrow. We know you are good with them, it’s your job after all, so sing me a song, pretty bird, and tell me exactly what you want or I’ll slap this pretty ass, mark it all up, come across it, and then leave you here like the dirty cum slut you are.”
“How can you feel this great? It’s like the high of a kill but ten times better. Fuck, Reign, I think I’m finding religion in your cunt.”
🇬🇧 Rockstar reverse harem? It’s been sitting on my TBR for ages, and I’m so glad I finally picked it up. Katie Knight is still one of the authors who excites me the most because of Den of Vipers, which has a permanent place in my heart. But I keep trying to chase that feeling… and honestly, I don’t think it can ever be replicated.
That said, this book was fun, tense, and wildly entertaining. The only reason it’s not five stars is because the beginning leaned a bit too heavily into insta-lust/insta-love. I get that it fits the FMC’s adventurous vibe, but Raff gave in way too early, and that softened the emotional impact a little. And the ending… predictable. Having a random fan be the stalker felt obvious — I was hoping for a different twist. But aside from that? Near perfect.
Astro was my favorite. My heart couldn’t handle how sweet he is. Dal, on the other hand, is delightfully unhinged — and I loved every second of it. Raff and Cillian stayed pretty balanced for me, but I’ll admit this book definitely sparked my appetite to read Rebel (with Beck).
All this to say: Reign Harrow won me over, along with her four bodyguards. If you’re into light RH, rockstar vibes, and great smut, this is absolutely the book for you.
🇵🇹 Rockstar reverse harem?
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I first came across K.A knights books a bit over 2 Years ago and it was Den of Vipers. Which also happened to be my first RH read and is still a comfort book of mine and since then I’ve read more of her books and will always recommend them because how amazing they are and this book is no exception.
I absolutely loved this book and the characters!
Dal absolutely broke my heart throughout the book! But seeing him learn to love and feel despite all he has gone through was incredible!! Plus, I love characters that are a bit insane🥰
Raff definitely loves control, order and having a plan. When he meets Reign that all goes out the window but in the best way possible! The way he speaks to Reign and try’s to protect her from what was going on had my heart 😌. Raff was a big softie for Reign! They all were really!!!
Cillian was so adorable I absolutely loved him. He was definitely the peace keeper in the group! He knew when to push and when to back down. He was definitely a big flirt but he would do anything for Reign!
Astro had my heart!! He used jokes to cope with the struggles he was dealing and hide them from people which is very relatable to a lot of people! He was definitely one of my favourites because he was such a loveable character that you just can’t not love and I absolutely loved his family and how they have basically adopted all the guys and let Reign in after knowing her for a short amount of time!☺️
Reign is a badass to the world but behind closed doors she is fighting her demons from the past and trying to numb out the pain of it all because sometimes it’s too much. Being famous has its ups and downs and it can be dangerous! Seeing how Reign bonds with each of the guys and slowly starting taking down all the walls she has built up around herself to keep her safe is amazing!! I loved seeing her concur her demons and letting herself love again and heal!
Can we all mention Raff JR and his Bandana!!!! So fricking adorable!!!!!!!!
And Vinette absolutely broke my heart hearing her story and seeing Reign letting her have her second chance made me cry 😢
I feel like every book K.A knight writes is a world wind of an emotional from tugging at your heartstrings and making you cry to hot damn 🥵. And I would highly recommend any of her books even if I haven’t read it because I know it would be amazing!
K.A. Knight has once again captivated me with her storytelling. She is undoubtedly one of my go-to authors, and this book has only deepened my admiration for her. I couldn't tear myself away from the pages, devouring the story like Cookie Monster his cookies. The characters truly came alive with their dynamic personalities that were both entertaining and compelling.
The male characters in this book have their own unique background and depth of emotion that was thoroughly explored. Dal's story, in particular, tugged at my heartstrings as he learned to love despite the darkness that surrounded him. His journey was both heart-wrenching and eye-opening. And let's not forget his alluring piercing – it added an extra touch of intrigue.
Raff, on the other hand, exuded strength and leadership. Witnessing him let loose a little and relinquish control was a delight to read. The way he interacted with Reign and the words he spoke made my heart flutter with excitement. Astro, the lovable golden retriever of the group, had a hidden struggle with anxiety that he masked with laughter and jokes. It was commendable that K.A. Knight provided substance to his character, making him relatable beyond his fun-loving nature.
Cillian stood out as the most levelheaded of the group, knowing when to engage in discussions and when violence was necessary. His genuine care for Reign was evident in the small acts of kindness he showed her. Unlike Raff and Dal, Cillian and Astro had more conventional upbringings, which added an interesting dynamic to the group.
And then there's Reign, a powerful and strong female protagonist. Despite her strength, she bears her own demons, making her incredibly relatable. Her story moved me to tears, and I appreciated that she found justice for what happened to her brother. It was truly beautiful to witness how Reign's connection with each of the guys helped them heal from their own traumas while she herself found solace and support.
The epilogue left me eagerly anticipating a second book, particularly centered around Beck. I long to learn more about Reign and her boys, as their bond and individual narratives have enraptured me.
This book combines many of the elements I love from dark romance and why choose books and combines this with music which I love - especially rock music. So this book ticks all the boxes for me.
I absolutely love this book! Reign is a strong independent FMC with a badass attitude but also vulnerability which makes for a very rounded character and a story that makes you want to read on. I also love all the boys, Raff, Cillian, Dal and Astro are just beautiful and their differing characters add a lot of entertainment to the story. However, Dal is my ultimate favourite, he is just the right amount of crazy and reminds me a little of Diesel in Den of Vipers (although not quite as murderous, but close)! When together, each of them brings something different but they work dynamically as a group and it is a very entertaining and steamy read! Even the supporting characters are beautifully fleshed out, adding to the world KA Knight has created in this story.
Also, honorable mention here to my absolute favourite character in this book - Raff Jr. His storyline just brought a smile to my face!
There are so many quotable moments some of my favourites being and . Also I can't look at a bread knife the same way again!
The ending though - it was a killer of a cliffhanger! I cannot wait for the next book in the series after that ending.
As always K A Knight has written an absolutely beautiful book and this is one I will come back to time and time again. If you are after a very hot and steamy why choose, with elements of military and rockstar romance, all the best elements of dark romance, four differently dynamic MMC's, a badass rockstar FMC, found family themes and a great storyline full of peril and mystery - read this now!
This book was everything I wanted and needed. I had high hopes for this book as I absolutely will devour anything K.A. Knight writes, but this was so much better than I thought it would be.
The men, my god, the men were all just so, loveable, sexy, filthy mouthed, and possessive as all hell. Usually with reading any RH book or series there is always one guy that I can't stand for most if not all of the book/s. I must admit that even in Den of Vipers I disliked Garrett for the majority of the book(though I did end up loving him in the end). But with Revolt, I loved every single guy from the very beginning, and never had an issue with any of them.
Reign is also a great main character. Maybe one of my favorite female leads to the date. She is strong and independent, but also vulnerable and raw at times. She is a total badass, and I wish I could even be a fraction as amazing as her. Her character was well written, and I found myself being able to identify with her in many ways, even though she is a famous Rockstar and I live a normal life. The emotions and trials she goes though, and the growth that you see are all very real and relatable to so many. And for that, I commend you, because writing a character like that can be difficult.
This book also had so many laughable moments, as well as moments that were relatable and pulled at my heartstrings. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, and with Den of Vipers being my all time favorite book, I have to say, this book is probably right there with it. Not sure I've enjoyed a book this much since DOV to be honest. But it shouldn't be shocking as this woman is a goddess and knows exactly what her readers want.
If you love absolutely filthy talking, possessive, touch her and die, type of guys, yea run don't walk to this book. The spice is *chefs kiss* and the characters distinct personalities just flew off the page.
It took minutes to discover the betrayal that opened her eyes. It took four months to find her peace and help her rediscover herself. It took seconds to know her life had changed forever. Reign Harrow is Rock's reigning princess, and once she remembers that, she's determined to live her life by her own rules. Her life, her way. No more record label dictating her appearances, music, clothes, hair, or makeup. She's going to live life on her terms. Her only concession? Four smoking hot bodyguards willing to take care of her body in every way.
This is what I have been waiting for. K.A. Knight can write. Her range is superb; she can excel at any genre. Lately, her interests have diverged from mine. The books were well-written and entertaining but not really where my interests lie. Criminals, monsters, and aliens appeal to many readers but not me. Just when I was thinking I may need a break, Ms. Knight changed course once again and wrote a book that could have been written especially for me. Reign is the leading lady I have been waiting for. Her unapologetic attitude was magnificent. Her first encounter with her ex had me cheering. Her first meeting with her bodyguards was bold. Her car shopping excursion was awesome. And her visit to her ex-best friend's house was inspiring. You get the idea. But she was never too much. She was bratty, hilarious, and brilliant. She was also vulnerable, flawed, and damaged. She was the woman we all have living inside of us but rarely dare show to the world. Her bodyguards were obsessive, possessive, deadly, and at least partly deranged. They protected her, worshipped her, and respected her. Perfect. Finally, I need to mention Vinette. Wisdom incarnate. We could all use her in our lives. I loved his character. Definitely my favorite book by this author. Can't wait until we get Beck's story!
OMFG this book had all the feels. Rock star body guard romance at its best! Rayne is a frikkin force to be reckoned with and the bodyguards are obviously well and truly reckoning! I don’t add spoilers but this is not all rainbows and rose, there are some dark issues tackled in these pages but Katie, as always delivers to a high standard. The ‘romance’ scenes are pretty top tier and exactly what you would expect from K.N I am looking forward to the next instalment! Beck is coming for us!
So Rayne, she hides behind the smiles and makeup and doesnt want to let anyone in. Not happy that her management have sent her 4 bodyguards without her knowledge. But slowly these 4 men, Raff, Dal,Cillian and Astro are born Killers and will do literally anything to smash through her walls.
Raff is the boss. He doesn’t want to cross the line but with Reing and her smart mouth it doesn’t take long for him to succumb to her every whim. But he doesn’t let her forget who’s boss even if she has him wrapped round his finger. When he apologised for disrespecting Reing in their date…whew!
Astro is the light fluffy clown that is always there to lighten the mood, doesn’t mean he isn’t hiding from the dark himself. He falls hard for Reing and everyone can see, even his parents.
Cillian is straight talking and always the first to be in the look out for everyone. He has everyone’s back and is a fantastic brother and lover!
Del, the heartbreaking man that I fell for. He is a little unbalanced shall we say, and he would burn the world down to keep Reing safe.
All of this is wrapped up in music and lyrics but behind closed doors someone is waiting to hurt their girl and they will stop at nothing to protect her. Even if it means loosing her
Reign is bold, brash, sassy, free spirited, hard headed, and unapologetically herself. Shes gotten this far on her own and refuses to let anyone in. Until her 4 body guards come along and what starts out as some fun quickly turns into something more. She used to live her life exactly as she was told to. The perfect Little Rock princess with the perfect life and perfect guy. Until she catches him cheating and she goes into hiding for 4 months and comes back a new version of herself. While this new version is great, for me, she wasn’t really all that likable. While the guys are great, it was also too insta-love for me. The story was good. She has a st@lker that the guys were hired to protect her from, but she doesn’t know that’s why they were hired. And after she’s ready to tell them she loves them, she finds out the reason they were hired and she thinks that everything they have ever said to her was a lie and they used her and blah blah blah. It was very dramatic and just not done very good. She flips a switch instantly and refuses to talk to them or hear them out. Then they’re fired because they are in a secret relationship with her which was against their contract. And then one of the MMC tried to unalive himself because she rejected them. It’s all very dramatic. And of course after they’re fired, the stalker makes his move and unalives her new bodyguards, all 8 or so of them! and sh00ts reign. Then tries to k!dnap her at the hospital. And that showdown lasted all of 2.5 seconds before the stalker is unalived... Pretty anticlimactic. Overall, it’s not terrible, but it wasn’t my favorite. Also the amount of times the author uses the word cream is criminal.
