Heroes of Sleepy Hollow #1
Ariana's Hero
How could everything go so terribly wrong? It was just supposed to be a harmless date. Over drinks one night at the wine bar, my friend convinced me it would be a good idea. It wasn’t. The harmless date turned into the most terrifying night of my life—one that I barely escaped from. This time , at least. Because even though I’m safe for now, he still knows where I live . It would be enough to break me, except… I’m not alone in this. Not anymore. Now I have Cash. Not just the firefighter who came to my rescue, but also one of my oldest friends. Cash, the man who’s held a piece of my heart since I was fourteen. When he brings me to his house for protection, I know I’ll be safe. I just have to keep my heart the same way. It was just another call… until I realized who I was helping. When we responded to the call, my concern was doing my duty. In a small town, there was always a chance of knowing the victim, but I never imagined I’d see her face looking back at me. Ariana. My Ari. The woman who stood by me through some of the hardest times of my life. One of the kindest people I know. My oldest friend. To see her scared and hurting and in danger… I would do anything to protect her. But the danger follows us home, and it’s only getting worse. And the stakes are higher than ever before, because Ari's becoming much more than a friend. She’s the woman I’m falling for. Ariana’s Hero is the first novel in the small town romantic suspense series, Heroes of Sleepy Hollow . It has a millionaire hero who volunteers as a firefighter, a smart and strong heroine, friends to lovers, forced proximity, twists and turns, lots of sweet moments, and a healthy dose of steam!

Nothing bad and I still enjoyed it, but relative to the Blade and Arrow stories, it wasn't as exciting. I am enjoying friends to lovers a lot more lately so if you're into that trope, I definitely would recommend giving this a go. Nice to see B&A cameos in here as well.

Great book fast paced, unexpected twists and turns, friends to lovers. Ari and Cash two lifelong friends reunite under less-than-ideal circumstances. Ari is using her wits to get out of a horrible situation and is injured in the process. Cash is one of the first responders and is shook to his core realizing who it is.
He begins to help her and starts to realize his true feelings for her go much deeper than he thought they ever would. Ari also feels similar and is greatly comforted when he is around.
Things progress and through thick and thin they start to realize that they are way beyond friends. Which puts an added twist to their emotions and actions. The security team gets involved as the threats become more life threatening. Cash also tries to help his drug addicted brother though helping an addict is nearly impossible if they don't want or think they need the help.
The ending is not what I had expected but so much better. This book is a quick read because the action is nonstop and unpredictable. A sure addition to your TBR list.

Absolutely amazing book!
Ari and firefighter Cash are friends but when a date goes wrong for Ari, she needs protection.
These two were great as friends but perfect as more. Their relationship had chemistry but also attraction they had been hiding for years well, Ari had anyway.
Very well done, loads of suspense, danger and drama, not to mention romance in a fast paced read that kept you on your toes. Exactly how I like my books!

Gia Cobie once again has me absolutely speed reading my way through a novel where I just can't get enough of the characters and storyline. Did I need another series of hers to get into? Absolutely! Even if my TBR is not pleased with me at the moment. Keep them coming Gia! This is the first book in her new Heroes of Sleepy Hollow series, but can be read as a standalone.
There are definitely character connections though. This first one was a great world building book and introduced me to so many characters that I can't wait to read more about. I'm chomping at the bit to have another one to be honest. Ariana and Cash were everything. From their chemistry and the way they were with one another to how fiercely they cared for one another and wanted to protect one another. It all came together for a beautiful relationship and a beautiful story.
The suspense element had me on edge the entire time. From one moment to the next I didn't know what was going to happen and how Cash and Ariana were going to be put in danger next. Even when I thought I had things figured out, there were enough twists, turns, and surprises to prove me wrong and keep me guessing. I can't recommend this book, series, and Gia Cobie enough!

This is the first book in the Hero's of Sleepy Hollow series. Some of the characters from the Blade and Arrow series make an appearance in this book but you don't need to read that series to enjoy this one. Cash and Ari have been friends since they were kids each having feelings for the other but not saying anything to the other. Cash runs the his family’s publishing company but volunteers as a firefighter. He’s lost so many loved ones he's afraid to love someone fearing he'll lose them too. Ari is a teacher and has recently moved back to Sleepy Hollow. Her friend convinces her to give online dating a try but it turns into a nightmare when she wakes up groggy in the trunk of a car. Steamy, fast paced, friends to lovers romance. Can't wait for book two. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A great friends to lovers story. Ariana goes on a blind date that ends as a nightmare and she barely escapes with her life. The guy knows where she lives and doesn't feel safe going home. Her friend Cash works at the fire department and insists she stay with him. Things heat up while they stay together. Can Cash keep Ariana safe? Must read to find out. This is a riveting story in which life long friends, Ari and Cash, reunite after a harrowing experience. A well written book that is fast paced with unexpected twists/turns and friends becoming lovers. I was excited to see the inclusion of the Blade and Arrow Security guys. If you enjoy heartwarming moments, steamy romance, and thrilling suspense, I recommend this book!

Man oh man—what a crazy good story! From the very first page, you knew this one was going to be a doozy. The storyline was awesome; the characters were crazy good; the plot twists and turns really kept you going; and the dang HEA literally steals your breath away. You don’t want to miss a single page of this bad boy!! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and absolutely loved it!) ❤️❤️

You have to enjoy alpha protectors that go the extra mile. You have to enjoy the love, worry & the alpha tendencies that Cash expresses. Ariana's character had a good mix of strong & need. Have to love the Arrow security team. Again excellent read you enjoy with a HEA. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Ariana'sHero is a wow from the very first page with a entertaining storyline that continuously has plot twists and a few surprise's that leaves you thinking I didn't expect that twist Cash and Ariana are very sweet with a combustible chemistry with a cross connection between previous books and this series you have a good core group of characters and a strong sense of community and found family I look forward to the next book in this series.

Loved this book it about a firefighter/millionaire who rescues a childhood friend. This story had all the feels ups and downs. Ariana Quinn and Cash Chatham have been in contact since she moved back to Sleepy Hollow, but they become closer when she gets hurt and he takes care of her. I also really liked how the author also involved her characters from another series into this story. Can't wait for what's to come great start to a new series

This book is the perfect blend of romance and suspense! There are plenty of sweet and steamy moments, and I really loved Cash and Ari. Their relationship was so authentic, and the way they supported each other throughout the book was definitely #relationshipgoals. There was plenty of action and danger and mystery throughout the book, and I was actually shocked by some of the twists. This is a great read and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Highly recommend!

juvenile and boring
I honestly do not understand how this book is at 4.4 stars with almost 700 reviews in. I know that when there are fewer reviews often the rating will be artificially high and this isn’t over 1000, but I feel like 700 should be enough to be starting to draw it back down to where it belongs.
Is it the worst book I’ve read? Absolutely not. And I don’t wanna be hurtful to the author or anything but the book is incredibly juvenile. It feels like it was written by a teenager but with sex added. And not even good sex. The characters are completely flat, no personality whatsoever. Their relationship feels nonexistent, there is nothing about them that suggest they are in love or that they even like each other. Other than them telling you that they do, but we don’t see it. In fact, we don’t see anything because it’s all tell instead of show. It’s like somebody telling you about the dream they had or telling you about a movie they saw without you ever actually experiencing things in the moment with them. Too much telling their intentions and their motivations instead of seeing it. Skipping over important moments to tell you about it after the fact instead of us experiencing it with the characters. I don’t want them to tell me what’s going on in their brain and what they see, I want to see it. Often you see the most through the eyes of the other character, but this is in the wrong POV for that at all times. And it’s present tense so it ends up feeling like a child telling you about their day at school.
It’s also repetitive. There is no growth, no character arc, nothing happens. Even in the beginning, it starts off so quickly that the bit about her being abducted is over before you even can get into the book. And then it’s just like two teenagers trying to decide whether or not to go steady. She’s crying constantly and he is soothing her for 85% of the book. It’s just ridiculous and over the top. I knew from 5”the first few pages I wasn’t going to like it and I should’ve just put it down but sometimes they pick up and I can get into the more as they go. It never happens. It becomes almost interesting in the last quarter of the book when something dangerous finally happens for real but once that’s over we’re right back to the same patterns. Once I’m a certain distance in I can’t stop and I was praying for this to end. And of course, they had to force it into a perfect little ending with a bow and I honestly couldn’t care less about any of it. Which is not the goal when writing a romance novel.
Will definitely not be continuing with this series or with any other books by this author.

I liked this series starter quite a bit overall, and the characters are ones I'll happily revisit in subsequent books. After all, I'm a total sucker for a friends-to-lovers romance, and romantic suspense is my kryptonite. I do feel that it veered into too-sweet territory at times though, and I would've preferred a little more attention paid to the suspense instead.
The story starts off pretty quickly, mercilessly drawing you into the suspense part. First-person POV (here with a dual perspective) isn't my favorite, but it works well here to make the initial crime more impactful to the reader. The author does a good job writing Ari in the aftermath, allowing her to have the PTSD such a traumatic event would lead to.
Cash is fully invested in caring for Ari and protecting her once more stuff starts to happen, almost obsessively so. It helps that he's rich and can afford pretty much anything, including top-notch private security (bring on the characters from a previous series). I would've preferred a little less of the rich stuff, to be honest; it tends to feel like an easy way for a writer to make a hero hero-ify, if that makes sense. And then honestly, the security team really ends up being not all that great, frequently at Ari's expense.
There are other security inconsistencies. For all that Cash has a primo security system, people are constantly entering the property. And shouldn't a tracker activate to let you know when someone is inexplicably on the move?
The suspense is fed from multiple angles, and I wasn't shocked by any of the twists. In fact, I was a little disappointed because I felt like what I considered to be the main suspense thread was kind of pushed to an easy end in the effort to offer a twist.
Several characters are introduced who will likely be protagonists in future books. Ari's friend Thea, whom we meet in the first chapter but is oddly absent from much of the book considering she's supposedly a really good friend of Ari's, is up next. Would I read it? Sure! Will I hope there's a little more to the suspense? Definitely.
I received an ARC of this book for free from the author and BookSirens. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

Ariana’s Hero is the first novel in the small town romantic suspense series, Heroes of Sleepy Hollow. The series follows the stories of the first responders of Sleepy Hollow working alongside the Blade and Arrow Security team. What an incredibly heart-gripping, beautiful story with steamy hot chemistry, great banter and unpredictable twists and turns. This book melted my heart with storyline, strong characters and fabulous plot that had me completely captivated, not being able to put it down. Ariana's Hero is completely brilliant, compelling, raw, breathtaking, at times heartbreaking story which I devoured in one sitting.
Ariana and Cash are utter perfection. When Ariana finds herself in trouble barely escaping with her life, her friend Cash, a firefighter, insists she stays with him offering his help. The author’s talent, writing and descriptive scenes made characters real, engaging, believable and charismatic; complex and easily relatable. Their story gets more complicated by the minute. Ari and Cash knew how to push each other's buttons, yet also to center / calm each other. The more time Cash and Ari spend together, their forced proximity and years of friendship become more. Between them existed this unique connection, pull and chemistry, no matter how much they tried to deny it or the obstacles they needed to face.
An absolutely amazing series starter and book with everything you could possibly want if you love contemporary romance, firefighter/millionaire/protector small town romance, dash of suspense and strong characters. Cannot wait for the next book.

Cash and Ariana have been friends since they were sixteen. They went through some tough times together, and even though time has passed they always kept touch, through phone calls, face times, they always connected when they felt the need to but they didn’t actually see each other a lot.
Pushed by her best friend Thea, Ariana goes on a date with a guy she met on a dating app. Very soon in the date she sees red flags but convinces herself to get through it, only to find herself drugged and locked in the trunk of her date’s car. She manages to get free of the moving vehicule and to call for help. One of the paramedics arriving on site is none other than her friend Cash.
Cash is devastated when he sees that his call is about Ari, and knowing her attacker is still out there makes all his protective instincts go out. He set up a meeting with his friends at Blade and Arrow (a security service) so they can protect and investigate the threat, meanwhile Ari is going to stay in his home where he can keep her safe.
As Ari heals from her attack and fear that day, she is grateful for Cash. Very soon they both realise they have feelings for each other, but were too afraid to ruin their friendship to ever act on it. With the attack, they decide to not waste anymore time.
***
So this was nice but I would have liked more action, more attempts from the stalker. Here there was actually another threat that ended up being quite predictable, and the « real » threat against Ari became somewhat secondary.

The mfc acts likes an idiot, and so does the mmc. Unbelievable romance, and stupid plot.
I was looking forward to this book as Cash is the cousin to one of the women, (I can’t remember who.) and his book sounded really good. So to say i was disappointed is putting it mildly. The two mc’s have been friends since they were 16, and they’re now in their 30’s. They’ve always had feelings for each other but they were both too afraid to say anything as they didn’t want to lose their ‘friendship’. WHAT FRIENDSHIP??? They barely speak anymore, a couple of video chats every so often and they call each other best friends. 🙄🙄 So when they finally get together it feels weird and clumsy, not sexy at all.
Ari has decided to try internet dating, when it goes horribly wrong and she’s left badly injured, Cash finally realises what she means to him, but Ari is still in a lot of danger and at times it’s quite exciting but then it drops down again into boring, sadly. Ari’s now living with him for her safety in his weird eccentric mansion, that his grandparents owned, and for some reason he hasn’t changed at all.
I did like both Ari and Cash but they both act like idiots at times. If I went on a date and he looked completely different to his picture, (Think a completely different person.) I would be out of there! I certainly wouldn’t carry on the date, and I wouldn’t drink something he’s already got for me!!
It’s okay. I prefer the other seres.

I would be out of there! I certainly wouldn’t carry on the date, and I wouldn’t drink something he’s already got for me!!
It’s okay. I prefer the other seres.

Her friend encouraged Ariana to get back out there and date, but then her date goes horribly wrong. She is terrified and barely escapes with her life. As a volunteer firefighter, Cash is called to the scene where Ari is being treated for her injuries. He recognizes her as his good friend from school and goes to the hospital with her and asks her to stay at his home. He also owns the Chatham Publishing Company and has time to care for her. Her cousin knows the owner of Blade and Arrow Security and contacts them for protection and to find the man who attacked her. Since her date used a fake name, it takes time for them to find and arrest him, but then unbelievably he is released on bail. He knows where she lives, will she ever be safe again? As the threats against her continue, they realize the man will stop at nothing to keep her from testifying against him. The more time Cash and Ari spend together, their long-time friendship becomes so much more. When Cash’s trouble making brother returns, will Cash regret allowing his brother back into their lives? Heartfelt friends to lover romance…
This author is a gem of a find. This was the first book I read by her and I’ve already read another! Her writing is good, the characters full of heart and soul, and the stories themselves are full of protective heroes. A combination that is working fabulously….
This was a friends to lover story that was a feel good read despite the danger Ari faced. Ari was someone you wanted to meet. Friendly and open, games were not for her. The shock she felt when her first online match/date went horribly wrong felt devastating real, and so was the relief when Cash came to her rescue. Cash was her friend, her rescuer and soon even more as the situation gave them the boost they both needed to be honest to each other about their feelings. Finally…
A bit repetitive in spots, it didn’t take away from the punch of the suspense and action or the warm and fuzzies of the growing romance. I walked away with a good read behind me and a new author I will be book stalking for sure…
*I happily reviewed this story

OMG, y'all! This author is seriously amazing
OMG, y'all! This author is seriously amazing - like finding a hidden treasure! I've read some of her stuff before, and let me tell you, it's good stuff. The characters are so real and lovable, and the stories are full of swoon-worthy heroes. It's like the perfect combo, and it's totally working for me.
So, this book was all about friends turning into lovers, which is always a good time, right? Even though Ari was dealing with some serious danger, it was still a feel-good kind of read. Ari was just the best - super friendly, real, and not into playing games. When her online date turned into a disaster, my heart broke for her. But then Cash swooped in to save the day, and let me tell you, he was her knight in shining armor. Their friendship turned into something more, and it was so sweet.
Yeah, there were some parts that felt a bit repetitive, but who cares when there's so much suspense, action, and romance going on? I finished the book feeling all warm and fuzzy inside, and now I'm totally gonna be stalking this author for more of her books. Trust me, she's a new fave for sure!

I'm just not a fan of the pining BFF storyline but others will love it. It has all the angst.
MMC doesn't do relationships and only ONS that he keeps private rather than rubbing in h's face all the time. But then having FMC in his home all the time and caring for her brings out the cinnamon roll side of him and he realizes he's lonely. Really?? Lifetime of living for yourself and never realized how you were destined to end up alone? I guess it's a good thing damsel in distress came at the right time to show you the error of your ways. I know it's what kickstarts their relationship but I wonder if she ever realizes that if she didn't have this traumatic event then he would have never changed and SAW her.
FMC doesn't date at all and the first time she tries, almost gets murdered so that annoyed me. I just hate the cliche that women in 2nd chance or friends-to-lovers aren't allowed to have satisfying sex lives. You're telling me nobody saw her worth before now as lively and perfect as she's written? Even less plausible than the murder storyline.

Ari and Cash have known each other for years, but distance has meant communication via phone. Now Ari is home, but they don't reconnect until a blind date gone horribly wrong.
This is the first book I've read from this author, although I am a fan of the 'operation alpha' world. I found both characters realistic and strong, both fighting their own fears after losing people they loved.
The chemistry is palpable between the two and the intimate scenes were 🔥. 4/5 stars, purely because I thought (IMO) the tender moments were a little overdone, verbally between the H and h. It was in a sweet way, but it just read a bit OTT to me.
All in all and good romantic suspense with all the heat, danger and of course the all important HEA!

Ari and Cash met years ago, and supported each other, then Ari moved away, they kept in touch and then she moved back. Her friend, Thea, has been trying to get her to date. She does and the consequences change everything.
Cash is a part time fireman, he goes with the team to rescue a woman from a cemetery, hiding by a mausoleum. He can't believe his eyes when he sees it's Ari. He's immediately very protective of her and won't leave her alone. He takes Ari home with him. He doesn't understand these feelings he has for her, and Ari realises that she feels more than friendship for him. Both are really unprepared to lose what they have by telling the other how they feel. Ari is great, a real independent strong woman. Cash is trying hard not to smother her but is super protective.
A great read from Gia.

The only things I have to say about this book is I absolutely hated when Cash kept saying "hun" in his dialogue to Ari...Like yeah it was cute in the beginning but after that I got annoyed at that but it didn't take away from the story too much, I just was hoping for deeper dialogue between Ari and Cash since they are best friends. The other thing I was hoping for was more firefighter scenes of Cash doing his volunteering at the fire station and so on. We didn't get to see much of what he goes through. Same with Ari as a teacher. Overall though I loved the characters and the story so much and it was such a fun time. I found myself gushing over certain points in the story. It was really cute, I totally recommend!

Like a Hallmark Christmas movie.....
....well if you don't count the kidnapping, sniper assassin and drug addict brother! But Ari and Cash's love story really is like a Hallmark movie, best friends for eighteen years, who, after a life threatening incident, finally open their eyes and their hearts to the love that has always been there but they were never brave enough to act on.
They are a lovely couple who give so much and expect nothing in return but deserve the world. They deserve the fairytale love that they finally find with each other.
I read this on Kindle Unlimited, it is a great introduction to the Heroes of Sleepy Hollow series and we get a bonus crossover with the Blade and Arrow guys too! What a treat!

This is my first book by Gail Cobie I enjoyed the story the romance was sweet especially since they've been friends for years and were just too scared of losing the other to take the risk but also wishing they hadn't waited for something so traumatic to happen to get together there relationships moved along very fast but I wasn't to bothered about that because they had know each since school so it kinda made sense it'd would move faster than a normal relationship
Alot of action and moved along nicely with some twist hear and there
This can be a stand alone but there are characters from the blade and arrows series no real spoilers I think as I haven't read them it but it probably would have been better if I'd read those books first

Gia Cobie is now in my top 3 Romantic Suspense writers. If that is the type of book you like to read, definitely read her Blade & Arrow Series and Heroes of Sleepy Hollow Series. Both are excellent. This book was fabulous and had all the wonderful elements I look for: romance, with some peeks into the bedroom and suspense with surprises. The dialog, angst, suspense, and romance are quite believable. I am behind in my reading, but her books are on my list to hurry and catch up on. I am not going to rehash what happens in the book or give you a blurb that you can read in the description from the store you purchase this book at. Just buy it and enjoy!!!

Ariana’s Heros by Gia Cobie is a combination of great writing, suspense, romance, and friendship. This small-town, romantic suspense read is a page turner. It kept my interest from start to finish and kept me guessing about outcomes throughout. I loved Ariana’s (Ari) and Cash’s story. The author does a great job of bringing the reader into the story from when Ari & Cash first met, their re-meet, their friendship over the years, and how they ended up becoming more. This was a wonderfully written story full of suspenseful conflict, awesome characters, and happily ever after. Ariana’s Hero is first book in the Heroes of Sleepy Hollow and can be read as a standalone. However, this reader recommends and plans to read the entire series.

3 1/2*
This book references Hallmark movies and the story and its telling were similar to their movies. But rated R! Ariana really gets put the rough the ringer — but Cash is right there to take care of her and keep her safe. There were some moments that didn’t work for me — why wait to call 911? If your property is completely fenced in with a security gate, how is anyone able to just come and ring the doorbell?
Fun supporting cast of characters. Looking forward to the next book.
