Libby Goins, a mother of five living a seemingly perfect life in an elite North Carolina enclave, harbors a secret from her past – a choice that sets off a chain of events culminating in a chilling mass murder. When detectives Andrea Fuller and Jaden Greer are called to the scene of the horrific crime, they confront a case that defies easy answers: a Harvard-educated killer, a trail of DNA evidence, and a motive rooted in a decades-old decision. With vivid characters and a plot that twists through the complexities of family, love, and loss, Fatal Choice will keep you on edge until its final haunting pages. Perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn and Lisa Gardner, this novel will leave you questioning the choices we make – and the prices we pay.
Well, this book certainly has the correct title! Certainly brings home the fact about making choices. If you don’t make the correct one, it certainly could have a fatal outcome.
Peach pie at Thanksgiving? Sounds awesome to me.
The Detectives in this book love to eat, so have your snacks nearby.
And, yes, Jayden can come to my house anytime to eat Peach Pie, a la mode, of coarse!
Once again, this book proves that money certainly doesn’t bring happiness!
won this book in a Goodreads giveaway which is so exciting!!
this was a solid mystery. interestingly, I haven't read a mystery that wasn't a thriller in years and it was nice to read a mystery without threat of life!
my main criticism is that the author tries to do too much. there's way too much explanation about everything to the point of spoon feeding, and the various POVs did not change enough in style or diction to warrant their existences.
I won this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway. Every chapter left me wanting to read just one more! Loved the “whodunnit” vibes and the twists throughout. Did not see the end coming.
A book of how our life choices can come back to haunt us
This is definitely and murder mystery where every time you think there is a light showing at the end of the tunnel, well another wrinkle in the story comes out. It was a pretty good read for mystery or who do it readers.
Great Book!!!! While the ending was sad it made me think about the future choices I will make and if there will be consequences that I can survive. Highly recommend.
a husband, wife and 5 kids were all shot outside at night by their pool only the wife survived
the police are trying to figure out who shot them
the husband was a kidney dr. the wife had a adopted father who killed her mother and just got out of prison. he wanted money from her but she said no
someone is a match to her kidney. she said no as she didnt want to risk leaving her kids without a mother like she had to grow up in foster care. she doesnt know who her real dad was and didnt think her mom knew either
after her family was murdered she decided she would go ahead and donate her kidney to a 22 yr old boy in tx
turns out he was her son. she had a abortion but the dr kept the baby alive and adopted him and 400 other babies over the years
the cop tracked back to the dad who confessed but it turned out the son did it to get the kidney for himself. his dad was sick and died but hes still awaiting trial
the birth mom couldnt take it anymore and took her life the cop adopted her dog

Incredible story!
Linda Riedle does an amazing job at keeping the reader guessing until the very end. It was definitely an emotional read for me, one that I won't stop thinking about for a while.
I did not want to put this book down, I had to know who did it and why. My heart was shattered, and when I thought it couldn't break anymore, it did. I had tears in my eyes at multiple points throughout. Libby didn't deserve that. Her family didn't deserve that. My mind still hasn't fully wrapped around what happened. I am devastated, and I wish I could hug Libby. She's a fictional character, but the entire time I read this book, all I wanted to do was hug her.
I am definitely looking forward to reading more of Linda Riedle's work.
I found the subjects in this story thought-provoking. What is right and what is wrong. Libby's storybook life screeches to a halt in horrific fashion. Andrea, the detective, contemplates decisions that we make and their effects that ripple for generations. Very quick read for me.
Great story line, with twist and turns to keep the pages turning. Quite the read with an ending you will not see coming. Another Mikey liked it for sure!
Great book. Well written, interesting plot, and I didn't know who "done it" until the end. It made my brain work. I will add this author to my list to look out for.
Recommended read! Thought provoking and engaging book. It was easy to connect with the characters. I especially appreciated the unpredictability of the details as all was revealed.
Goodreads giveaway winner, 3.5 stars. Interesting twist but about three quarters of the way through I was ready for it to wrap up. Definitely a sad ending so I wouldn’t go in expecting everything to be wrapped up with a happy bow.
The Author did a mostly good job with this story. I do believe there’s at least one, if not 2 or more somewhat glaring holes — but it was an interesting plot no matter what, and I’d recommend reading of this book.
Too many insignificant details that I ended up skimming over. Glaring errors, such as the author referring to Andrea as Libby in one instance and referring to the gender of a dog as ‘her’ but changing it to ‘him’ within the same paragraph.
