Cora Lee is a National Bestselling author of Regency romance. She then followed it up with eight other novels and novellas ranging from sweet and traditional to spicy and suspenseful.
When she’s not walking Rotten Row at the fashionable hour or attending the entertainments of the Season, you might find her participating in Regency Fiction Writers events, wading through her towering TBR pile, or eagerly awaiting the next Marvel movie release.

Overall rating - 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars.
My Fair Regency is a fun take on the holiday anthology in that, unlike the usual holiday anthology, it's novellas cover a range of holidays from all different times of the year. From the well-known Twelfth Night and Guy Fawkes Night to the lesser known Bartholomew Fair and Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling and Wake. With such varying holiday backdrops, each of the novellas are unique from one another the anthology as a whole is unique from any other holiday anthology I've read. I would recommend it if you're looking for something different to read!
May Day Mayhem by Ann Chaney - 2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 stars. I enjoy a spy story and so I enjoyed the intrigue and danger in this novella. I do feel like it would have been better if I had read some of Chaney's Lords of Whitehall series so that I would have been familiar with prior missions and more of the characters. This novella had a bit of a slow start, which gave it a slightly rushed feeling toward the end.
My Favorite Mistake by Courtney McCaskill - 4.5 start, rounded down to 4 stars. Loved that this novella allowed us to revisit characters from Courtney MacCaskill's The Astley Chronicles series years down the road. This novella took place during easily the silliest and most whimsical of the holidays featured in this anthology, the Cheese Rolling. Pair that with Courtney's romantic-comedy writing style and you have a very entertaining novella. This was my favorite from the anthology. This is the only novella of the group that is not clean, but the author has made it very easy for the reader to navigate past those scenes if that's not your cup of tea.
His Damsel by Charlotte Russell - 3 stars. This one was the longest of the anthology and was a little longer than I want for a novella. I found the main character to be a bit abrasive and cold at times, but overall I was intrigued by the story.
When I Fall In Love by Cora Lee - 3.5 stars, rounded down to 3 stars. A very sweet novella with a silly pet goose that steals the show, plus I found the main character to both be very likable. I wish we had gotten to see more of the Autumn Festival, which we only see for a short burst of time at the end of the novella, but it worked with the progression of the story.
Remember by Shannon Donnelly - 4.5 stars, rounded down to 4 stars. This story is told through glimpses in time spanning across approximately 7 years. It was an interesting way to develop the connection between the main characters, but it worked especially well for the limited pages of a novella and I enjoyed the writing style.
The Aeronaut’s Heart by Regina Scott - 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars. This novella was unique to the others in the series in that it had a more steam-punk style, with our main characters being aeronauts and a reformed smuggler. This novella had a bit of a slow start for me as there was a lot of information to get squared away in the beginning before the story could progress, but the flying ships were a fun addition and I would read another story with them. _____
I would like to thank, Courtney McCaskill, one of the featured authors, for sharing an eARC of this anthology with me. This is my honest review.
**I'm pretty sure I already had a partial review posted that seems to have disappeared, so this is a re-posting with my full review**
My Fair Regency is a charming and delightful set of novellas from some wonderful indie historical romance authors. This anthology features stories based on different holiday traditions through the year, giving glimpses into fun and lesser know Holiday traditions. My Fair Regency is the perfect little teaser of each of these author's writing styles, giving the reader a quick and lovely introduction to someone new and also providing a fan with a little story to tide them over until the next author's release.
I picked this up for my love of Courtney McCaskill's works and I was swept up in to her quick and humorous romance. McCaskill also gives her readers the option to read her sensual scenes (which are in general omitted from this romance that is full of closed door stories), and I really found that to be a lovely way to give her traditional readers something they are use to and new readers the option to see how she handles these romantic explorations if they wish to. I also found that these short stories were a wonderful insight into authors I have never read before but can now be on the look out for more of their works.
Definitely pick up this series of tales if you are looking for a quick nighttime story, a new author to love, or just a sweet and simple romance!
Thank you to Courtney McCaskill for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a collection of diverse tales that in some way revolve around a holiday. Some are well known, and some obscure. You will find a varied cast of characters and decidedly different story lines. Some tales have danger lurking around the corner, and others are just dealing with society’s prejudices, but all have conflict, surprises and delightful couples falling in love. These stories are interesting, well written and unique.
May Day Mayhem - Ann Chaney Helen and Jamie Ooooo, danger, spies, murder and May Day. This is an exciting tale about Helen and Jamie, who work for the Crown, ferreting out French spies in order to prevent them from finding gold and sensitive information. Add to that the fact that Jamie is in love with Helen, who refuses to marry him because he is a duke and she a commoner, and you have many levels of conflict. You will find a wide range of characters, including an effervescent sixteen year old who can manipulate with the best of them. This is a fast-paced story that is engaging, entertaining and has a most satisfying ending.
His Damsel - Charlotte Russell Eliza and Anthony An abrasive heiress, her vulnerable and naive cousin, and a handsome printer all come together to make a ‘gentleman’ pay for his deceit. When Eliza gets pushed around taking Lord Epson to task at the Bartholomew Fair, Anthony Ripley steps in to break things up. He takes an angry and bleeding Eliza to his printing shop where he patches her up and intends to send her on her way. She on the other hand, has decided that since he interfered and let Lord Epson get away, Anthony is going to help her get her revenge. What follows is a story that not only crosses class lines, but racial ones. The dialogue is crisp and often witty. The characters are varied and realistic, and multiple lessons are learned.
When I Fall in Love - Cora Lee Sylvie and Kit Sylvie, who lived with her grandparents, and Kit were neighbors and childhood friends. Due to structual damage and continusl rain, part of Kit’s roof collapsed and Sylvie’s family invited him to stay with them. The weather-induced crop failure and a ship lost at sea put all of them in a dire financial situation. But the Harvest Festival was coming up, and for one night they could all forget their troubles and enjoy. This story is filled with devotion, sweetness and love. What Kit finds difficult to say, he demonstrates with his actions. Sylvie is compassionate, selfless and steadfast. She and Kit make a remarkable pair whose future looks bright. I love the storyline around Moses. It adds humanity and humor to a well written, heart engaging story.
Remember - Shannon Donnelly Beatrix and Andrew This is an interesting way to tell a tale. Bea and Andrew met at Guy Fawkes Night, November 5, 1805, and their story is told by relating what happened on that night for the next 8 tears. So much is packed into this story. Her father is a knight and her mother has very definite beliefs of how Bea should act and with whom she should keep company. Andrew’s father is a wealthy baron, but they are new money and involved in trade, therefore he is not suitable company for Bea. The fact that Bea is taller than most men she meets, and has a voracious appetite for reading and science, gains her numerous lectures from her mother and perfect older sister. Andrew, on the other hand, is itching to join the war, and soon learns it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be. The author scatters literary quotes throughout this story and refers to scientific discoveries. It is a clever, well written story.

I was impressed by the offerings from each author. The romances were vastly different and the holidays dedicated to each story were mostly uncommon. The first story by Ann Chaney “May Day Mahem” tells of the romance between James Bennet, the Duke of Doncaster, and Helen Stokes, orphan and ward of Lady Philomena Preston…a spymaster. She engages the two of them for missions. How will Helen overcome her sense of unworthiness for the likes of James? Readers will enjoy their dangerous mission and how they find their way together. The second short story “My Favorite Mistake” uses the May Day Cheese Rolling competition as added interest. Now 36 years old Fanny Price, a lady’s maid, has avoided her love interest for the past 16 years. Horse trainer, Nick Cradduck, did indeed marry someone else, who was 9 months pregnant at the time of the wedding. At 40 years old, he has found Fanny and wants to explain what transpired those many years ago. Will she forgive him? He’s a gypsy with “the sight”…was he able to foretell what would happen? Courtney McCaskill penned this delightful story. “His Damsel” by Charlotte Russell takes place during the Bartholomew Fair. This was my favorite story, because the dialogue between Eliza Cranstoun and Anthony Ripley was witty and particularly outrageous on Eliza’s part. Eliza, an unfriendly 25 y/o spinster, is on a mission to destroy a Lord Epson for having compromised her sweet, innocent cousin and companion, Maryann. As she attacks Epson at the fair, Anthony comes to her unnecessary rescue. Enjoy how this printer comes to eventually aid the ever cantankerous, barb-spitting, Eliza, who has a huge dowry, and how he awakens passion in the two of them. I will definitely reread this one. The fourth story takes place during the Harvest Festival. Cora Lee writes a charming story about a landowner, Kit Mathison, and the farmers’ granddaughter, Sylvie Devereaux. This is a friends to lovers romance…very heartfelt and endearing. How will the two plow through their near impoverished state towards happiness? The fifth story is thoroughly entertaining and is seen through the eyes of two teenagers as they enjoy Guy Fawkes holiday over a 6 year period. Beatrix Foxton, an extremely tall chatterbox and bibliophile, carries on an extensive conversation with Andrew Cliffs about what she is reading while everyone else is enjoying the pyre of the straw man. They share their dreams and those of their parents through a series of letters - “letters that mingle souls”. “Remember” by Shannon Donnelly is my second favorite of the collection. I will definitely reread this one, too. The last story, a Steampunk fantasy, about aeronauts Etienne and Josie didn’t hold my interest at all. This takes place around Christmas and at the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars.
Overall, this collection will entice you with its charm and its clean sweet romances. Definitely worth 5 stars ⭐️. I have received an ARC from Booksprout and I am leaving an unbiased review voluntarily.
May Day Mayhem-They are both spies for the Crown and are in the English countryside in search of a missing pouch with coins and a notebook. She is pretending to be the governess to a Baron's daughter, and he is to be himself, a Duke. He has loved her for a while now, but she has never felt worthy enough to be his Duchess. With the help of May Day, the Baron's daughter and a few spies perhaps by the end he will convince her that she is wrong. My Favorite Mistake-They had an off-the-charts encounter and then it all went wrong. For sixteen years, she has thought the worst of him, and he has tried to find her. Then a chance encounter brings everything to a head. Will she listen to his explanation? Will he be able to finally win his true love? Read and see. His Damsel-Their first meeting at a street fair was over a misunderstanding of circumstances. He found her refreshing and she found him tolerable. They come from two different stations in society but the more time they spend together to solve her cousin's issue the more they come to care for each other. Although stations in society don't seem to matter to her they seem to matter a great deal to him. What will it take for these two to realize that their future is intertwined and of great benefit to both of them? When I Fall in Love-You will have to read this cute story to see what a wayward goose has to do with helping the two main characters find their happy ending. Also, involved is a lot of rain and a Harvest Festival. Remember-This story centers around the two main characters meeting each year on Guy Fawkes Night. This one was kind of hard for me to finish as I got tired of hearing about 'her mother this' and 'her mother that'. I did enjoy the ending though. The Aeronaut's Heart: An Alt-history Regency Steampunk Romantic Adventure-This story is about airship pilots, the end of the war between France and England, a spy and a sailing ship's captain. I might not understand all of the technical references, but I could still picture the airships flying and the smaller prototype that they built. This has been an interesting and entertaining collection of clean Regency holiday stories.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
There's no way you can really innovate on a holiday historical romance anthology, right?? WRONG. This anthology takes readers through a whole year's worth of Regency England holidays - from May Day to Twelfth Night - and tells six delightfully clean romances along the way. There wasn't a bad novella in the bunch, but I had three big standouts.
1) "His Damsel" by Charlotte Russell.
I LOVED the couple in this one. Think Eloise and Theo, the printer boy from Bridgerton Season 2, if they were all grown up. SO swoony and satisfying. Eliza was outspoken and sure of herself. She also felt brash and unable to make meaningful friendships, and she knew these things about herself. I adored her for all her flaws. And Anthony was ridiculously amazing. Also, the side characters were amazing! I definitely plan on digging into this series more.
2) "When I Fall in Love" by Cora Lee.
This isn't my first Cora Lee, and it won't be my last. She does friends to lovers SO WELL, and that just happens to be one of my favorite tropes. This story centers around two neighboring households, two people who've been friends since childhood, a lost pet goose, a bad harvest year for everyone, a hole in the roof of one of the houses, and a cozy Autumn Festival. There are caring grandparents, a litter of kittens, and no animals are harmed at all. This is exactly my kind of cozy autumnal story. Perfect when paired with a cup of hot apple cider or chai tea. :)
3) "Remember" by Shannon Donnelly.
Guy Fawkes Night! Or rather, a series of many Guy Fawkes Nights told over the course of about 6-7 years. Bea's family expects her to land a titled gentleman and certainly not the one from next door who is only the second in his lineage. Bea is a little too tall, a little too smart, and a little too interested in things like combustion and gas lamps to please the men of the ton. Andrew lives next door and finds Bea on Guy Fawkes Night every year. It is adorable and could honestly be made into a film. So beautiful.
This anthology is definitely worth a read and is great for year-round enjoyment!.
Thanks to Booksprout for a copy of the book. I am voluntarily leaving a review.
I very much enjoyed this collection of short stories by various authors revolving around various holidays throughout the year. May Day Mayhem by Ann Chaney is a sweet romance centered around some spy/espionage activity between England and France.
My Favorite Mistake by Courtney McCaskill is an enthralling story of love-at-first-sight that spans 16 years between first meeting and Happily Ever After. This sweet romance has the unique opportunity to choose whether or not you want all the steam.
His Damsel by Charlotte Russell, a lovely story—is actually book 4.5 in the His Hers series. Although hard to decide on the best story in this collection, this one may have been my favorite. The heroine, Eliza, a no-nonsense, lady who doesn’t mind flouting societal strictures and leans toward grumpy. After several ups and downs, this sweet romance ends with Happily Ever After!
When I Fall in Love by Cora Lee Sylvie and Kit both have financial hardship, but continue giving selflessly. Finally realizing the love that has been growing between them, they manage, by hard work and economizing and working together to seize the chance they have for their own Happily Ever After.
Remember by Shannon Donnelly follows Andrew and Beatrix through eight years of Guy Fawkes celebrations and all that goes along with growing up and falling in love as well as learning when to stand up for one’s own self and ideals.
The Aeronaut’s Heart: An Alt-History Regency Steampunk Romantic Adventure by Regina Scott This riveting novella is somewhat of a continuation of the original Regent’s Devices trilogy, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Josie and Etienbe’s love story with a good deal of romantic suspense thrown in!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This anthology has a great selection of clean HR romances that are related through the common theme: Fairs! 🎡
🍂For someone who just went to 3 (!!) fall fairs in two weekends- I loved the variety of celebrations included and the romances they inspired!
May Day Mayham - Ann Chaney Spies! He’s in love with her, and she just wants him to treat her as an equal. A forced proximity romance with surprising amount of activity/ action while these two try to find hidden gold in state secrets at the May Day festival! 3.5⭐️
My Favourite Mistake - Courtney McCaskill -May day At the annual cheese rolling festival, Lady’s maid Fanny is shocked to see that the new head horse trainer in the household is her former love… whom broke her heart by married another woman! Will she give him a second chance? 👉Fun bonus spice optional- choose your own adventure! 5⭐️
His Damsel -Charlotte Russell -St. Bartholomew Feast day fair Spinster heiress Miss Eliza meets Mr. Ripley, when he attempts to rescue her from an altercation with a gentleman… too bad, his interruption turned the tables and the gentleman Eliza was confronting gets away! Now she enlists Mr. Ripley and his printshop to assist her with her vengeance. 4⭐️
When I Fall In Love- Cora Lee -Harvest Festival A mishap with Kit’s roof, leaves him homeless until his neighbour and childhood friend, Sylvie and her grandparents invite him to stay there, while his home is repaired. I. When Sylvie’s pet goose is accidentally send to market with Kit’s animals- Kit does everything you can for the goose who helped him fall in love! 4⭐️
Remember- Shannon Donnelly -Guy Fawkes night Two neighbours from different social backgrounds meet at the Guy Fawkes bonfire… and every Guy Fawkes night afterwards they search each other out… 4.5⭐️
The Aeronaut’s Heart: An Alt-History Regency Steampunk Romantic Adventure- Regina Scott Unread- Steampunk is just not for me 😊

One Story: Good Characters But with Modern Sensibilities
This is a fun idea for an anthology. It isn't just focused on a single holiday or time of the year. Rather, it has love stories for different festivals and holidays throughout the year. As it is currently fall as I read this, I decided to read the story that takes place around harvest time. This love story takes place between two common people, the hero an impoverished landowner and the heroine a young lady whose grandparents are a step above tenant farmers. The hero and heroine have known each other since they were children, and they get to know each other even better in this book when the hero wakes up to find his roof has collapsed. The heroine's grandfather offers him a room in their house until he can fix it. Calamities continue to happen all around, and the hero offers for the heroine in part to help them all out of their situations. Some of the language in this book and some of the concepts discussed during his failed proposal are anachronistic, more of modern sensibilities and beliefs than would have been common or even a “thing” back in the day, especially considering their circumstances. I always prefer when authors stay in the proper historical lane, so to speak, rather than break the fourth wall with inappropriate language and ideas. I did like the characters in this story, though, and I look forward to reading other stories in this book when the seasons for the tales come around.
I received a free digital copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
In "The Aeronaut’s Heart," a captivating novella by Regina Scott, readers are transported into the intricate world of alternative history and steampunk, intricately woven into My Fair Regency: Tales From Holidays Throughout The Year. Set against the backdrop of a world recovering from the aftermath of the war between England and France, the story centers around Josie Aventure, a skilled aeronaut, and Etienne Delaguard, a former smuggler. In this volatile atmosphere, Josie, Amélie, and Marcel emerge as pivotal figures, their roles as aeronauts shaping the course of events. England celebrates its triumph, yet Etienne finds himself unjustly imprisoned due to his nationality, navigating a perilous world filled with mysterious threats and enigmatic characters. As the story unfolds, Josie and Etienne grapple with their mutual feelings amid the high-stakes backdrop of airship battles and international tensions. "The Aeronaut’s Heart" proves to be both endearing and suspenseful, offering a breath of fresh air within the steampunk genre. For those unfamiliar with the series to which this novella is connected, it serves as an engaging and swift introduction to Regina Scott's alternative history, a world brimming with airships locked in fierce combat and the historical tension between England and Napoleon's forces. This novella beckons readers to delve into an enthralling realm, rife with adventure, romance, and the thrill of an alternative past brought to life.
This is an interesting collection novellas centered around English holidays and festivals of the year. MayDay, Bartholomew Fair, Guy Fawkes Day, 12th Night, and a couple of Harvest Festivals. The first two stories in this collection were not for me, hence the 4 stars. The last four however more than made up for the mismatch readership of the first two. Especially good, was Regina Scott’s offering of The Aeronaut’s Heart: An Alt-History Regency Steampunk Romantic Adventure. This novella resumes the story of the series Ms. Scott did last year with Shelley Adina. The aeronaut sisters, Josephine and Amelie Aventure, have arrived after in England after assisting in the battle that closed the series. The hero is Etienne Delaguard, smuggler and brother to Marcel. The story is wonderful and the ending quite satisfying. I also enjoyed His Damsel by Charlotte Russel. I found Eliza Cranstoun and her Mr. Ripley quite likable. The story was original and interesting. I’m not going to say anything further for fear of spoiling it. Shannon Donnelly’s Remember was neatly done. I liked the characters and the ending. This collection is a "clean" read, but it's not Christian. I say that only because as a reader of Christian romance I expect certain things, those things are not present in the other stories. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, it's just a thing to be aware of if you are looking specifically for Christian romance.
In May Day Mayhem, Helen and Jamie are spies but as a girl once living in a bad area of London she thinks she’s not good enough for a duke. Their assignment brings them closer especially when their lives are on the line and her charge and the spymaster aid in the matchmaking.
My Favorite Mistake is a second chance romance between Fanny and Nick. They slept together and then he married another the next day and is trying to win her back.
His Damsel is a cross classes romance. Eliza works with Anthony to avenge her cousin who was seduced and abandoned by a lord.
When I Fall in Love is a friends to lovers romance between Sylvia and Kit. They both have financial difficulties and he offers marriage as a solution. The pet goose Moses plays an interesting side character.
Remember is about pen pals Beatrix and Andrew who at least as written by chapters meet once a year but her family doesn’t approve.
The Aeronaut’s Heart is a steampunk romance with air ships and not a genre I typically read.
Only read Regina Scott's. My Fair Regency The Aeronauts Heart by R.E. Scott The Regent’s Devices Novella Etienne Delaguard is captain of Marguerite, the ship he used for smuggling during the war between France and England. Now that the war is finally over, the English aren’t so happy to have a French smuggler around, even if that was behind him. He had to find a legal trade to determine if his future included Josie. Josephine “Josie” Aventure returned to England after their harried time in the sky as they defeated Napoleon. She wanted to make England her home, but what could she do if she couldn’t fly? Not to mention the English rule that she and her sister needed a chaperone! A short story that is packed full of adventure. A French spy is trying to get Etienne to return him to France. The more desperate he gets—the more those Etienne loves are in danger. If you haven’t read the first three books in this series, I highly suggest doing so. A unique series that is genuinely page-turning. https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
My Fair Regency: Tales from Holidays Throughout the Year (More Than Words Press, October 2023) is a collection of six short stories set during holidays and festivals throughout the four seasons. The anthology consists of: • May Day Mayhem by Ann Chaney • My Favorite Mistake by Courtney McCaskill • His Damsel by Charlotte Russell • When I Fall In Love by Cora Lee • Remember by Shannon Donnelly • The Aeronaut’s Heart by Regina Scott
I read only The Aeronaut’s Heart by Regina Scott. This was a sweet Regency romance set in an alternate Regency/steampunk universe. It was a quick read that hit all the right notes! I liked the strength and courage of Josie, the heroine, and the steadfastness and charm of Ettienne, the hero. Their story is a nice addition to the Regent’s Devices series by Regina Scott (R.E. Scott/Shelley Adina.

This review is for My Favorite Mistake by Courtney McCaskill
First of all, let me tell you that I LOVED the idea of a steamy novella among closed-door ones with the lovemaking (bonus!) scenes that can be read or not (totally reader’s choice). It’s a good compromise for all romance lovers. But, mind you, I still think that by not reading those scenes you’ll miss a very important part of the relationship between the main characters!!! Anyway I loved this novella very, very much, and I found the heroine particularly funny and refreshing, even if a bit stubborn. Fanny is also free with her desire and not ashamed to love and be loved and her POV made me laugh quite a lot! By the way, this novella is single POV, because otherwise the “mystery” at the centre of the novella would have been solved immediately! I just hated that they had to wait so long to be together! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Jump into the season, warm up by the fire, cuddle in a warm blanket, and start reading! Celebrate Regency romance all year long with this collection of short stories set during holidays and festivals! The stories feature some favorite tropes — enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance, forbidden love, friends-to-lovers, and more! With the variety offered, you should easily find some stories you can enjoy and even add to your “To Be Read Again” pile! And finding some favorite authors you enjoy, purchase some of their other books once you see how much their writing style draws you in. Enjoy reading these wonderful Regency love stories!
Titles included in the collection are:
🌷MAY DAY MAYHEM by Ann Chaney 🌷MY FAVORITE MISTAKE by Courtney McCaskill 🌷HIS DAMSEL by Charlotte Russell 🌷WHEN I FALL IN LOVE by Cora Lee 🌷REMEMBER by Shannon Donnelly 🌷THE AERONAUT’S HEART by Regina Scott
My review is for the novella, The Aeronaut’s Heart by Regina Scott. This novella is connected to The Regent’s Devices series. It is an alternative history, steampunk type of series.
I enjoyed seeing Josie find love with the former smuggler, Etienne. The author did a good job of showing the uncertainty that these two felt regarding whether their affections would be returned. There was also a bit of mystery and danger in the tale.
If you haven’t read the series that this novella is connected to and are curious about the alternative history that the author has created, full of airships battling each other as England bested Napoleon’s troops, then this could be a fun and quick introduction into that world.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
This anthology is full of some sweet romance from some rather delightful authors. One story in particular stood out to me, My Favorite Mistake by Courtney McCaskill. Here’s my thoughts: Who can forget the viciously loyal ladies maid, Fanny Price? Certainly not Nick Cradduck. It’s taken him 16 to find her, and he’s not giving up without a fight. I loved this story! Nick and Fanny are everything I was hoping for. Fanny is a character that definitely stood out, and I am so glad she got her own happy ending. We first meet her as Lady Caroline Astley’s ladies maid in How to Train Your Viscount. Courtney McCaskill writes such endearing characters, both main and supporting. I loved the soft humour, the tender love and the spicy heat. Though if heat is not your thing, never fear, those scenes have been hidden so you can choose whether you’d like it served hot or not. A sweet (or spicy) read that will delight your senses.
This review is for The Aeronaut’s Heart by Regina Scott.
I loved getting the story of Josie and Etienne. While secondary characters in a different series, they are the center of this novella.
They have been removed from everything they have known in the past, in their home country of France. Now both of them are wondering if they have a future that looks anything like they had imagined it would. What are they willing to give up to be together, and is it even possible?
As with her longer novels, Scott deftly weaves a story that entertains and transports the reader to another world while giving us characters to root for. It is not necessary to have read the Regent’s Devices series to enjoy this story, but this novella enhances the series for those who have read it.
I received a review copy of this book from the author but was not required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are both honest and my own.
As with most box sets, I liked several of the stories in My Fair Regency more than others. That said, all of them were charming short tales of ordinary folks and their romances during various yearly celebrations.
All of the writers in this set did a good job and all of the characters played their parts well.
Content 411: This book contains mild secular and religious swearing. The first story also offers two separate sex scenes, which the reader can access via a link. Be advised that clicking on the link will take you to graphic sex and vulgarities.
Disclosure: I received a complementary ARC of this book from the author via BookFunnel. I am voluntarily submitting my honest review.
An entertaining collection of stories set in a variety of festivals. There are spies on Mayday. A spinster in search of revenge and a printer who falls in love, neighbors who meet again and deal with farm problems and a goose named Moses, letters between friends to share their dreams, and an enjoyable look at the defeat of Napoleon in a Steampunk technological alt history, and rolling cheese down the hill.
My Favorite Mistake by Courtney McCaskill He broke her heart on their wedding day when he married another woman. When he shows up at the Cheese Rolling Festival and as the horse trainers at the estate where Fanny works, Nick tries to convince her that she should give him a second chance. A surprise might change her mind. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Some of the stories are better than others, but overall this is an entertaining assortment. The collection is promoted as clean and low heat, which is true of most of the offerings, but there are a couple that are further over the line than normal low heat stories. That said, if you don’t mind moderate heat, this book is a nice option. Be cautious with other book offerings by these authors though if you generally care about reading sweet and low heat, as there are other publications by some of these authors that will have much more heat.

I snapped up My Fair Regency when it was offered for review hoping to enjoy another of Regina Scott’s books and find some ‘new to me’ authors… And I loved it. These sweet stories were fun and interesting. I enjoyed each of them but my favorite, of course, was Regina Scott’s novella.
The Aeronauts Heart was fantastic. I don’t know how, but within pages, I was emotionally invested in these characters and couldn’t put my Kindle down! I think, more than my love of steampunk, I really could empathize with the people seeking friendship in a new country. The country they risked their lives to protect. The people they saved. The people who now turned their back because of a different accent…
Reviewing for Courtney McCaskill My Favorite Mistake is included in the My Fair Regency anthology which are sweet stories. This steamy author takes out her usual steamy scene, but includes them as bonus scenes which can be skipped over. I really liked this story about a ladies maid and a horse trainer. It’s nice to read something not involving the aristocracy. Funny in parts, great steamy scenes and wonderful characters. I’m sad the HEA took so long for this couple.
My Favorite Mistake by Courtney McCaskill... Entertaining second chance romance, I liked Fanny and Nick. A big misunderstanding separates them but sixteen years later they meet again and their attraction and love is still there. Not your usual aristocracy romance, a nice change with a lady's maid and a horse trainer finding their happiness. Two bonus scenes, if you choose to read makes this story a little steamier.
Wonderful set of stories by some good authors. Each story has interesting characters and each story also has some drama and romance. The holidays always add an expected twist to every story. Like the historical settings of the stories and each one is entertaining in its own way. Good set of books.

A collection of novels by various authors that revolve around different holidays and seasons, such as the Harvest Festival and Twelfth Night. Themes include enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance, forbidden love, friends-to-lovers, and more. With the holidays approaching, fill up your reader and enjoy the novels.
This collection of six stories, all having to do with holidays throughout the year, is a really fun collection. There is one story that is much steamier than I prefer but the steam is kept separate so you can skip it if you please. There is romance and suspense galore in this HEA collection.
