Not only is Taylor Hart twice my age, He is Adonis personified and he knows it.
I have seen the way women blush when he walk by. A master of seduction, no female is immune to his charms, me included.
Tangled up in his sheets, I knew it was a one-time thing. He never sleeps with the same woman twice. But one night turns into three... And my heart begins to hope.
But what happens when our past threatens to destroy what we have? Will the distraction I chose ultimately become my destruction?
Book info: - Age gap - No cheating, owd - omd, third act breakup - Workplace romance - Three night stand?? - Harassment / Blackmail - Mention of bullying - Non-virgin MCs - HFN
Notes: - Layla's ex caused the conflict almost at the end - Not sure if Taylor is a manhoe, he said he only sleep with a person once. Also, he's bisexual and explored this when he was in his twenties. - They didn't use any protection and no STD talk, but she's on BC. - Two breakup act, the first, lasted for two weeks (caused by Taylor) and the second, less than 24 hours (caused by Layla)
This is better than the first book. Though there are miscommunication in the stories both MCs are willing to listen and work out their relationship.
Layla is mending her broken heart after her cheating ex ruined their five year relationship. It has been two months I think but she was still hurting (totally understandable) and she's not functioning well in her school and job, so her manager gave her days to take time off.
She went to NY for three days and she met Taylor. They already knew each other because he's the VP in the restaurant chain where Layla's working, and Layla's best friend is dating Taylor's best friend. Since she was sad, vulnerable, and don't want to be alone, she asked Taylor to be her distraction, and they become each other's distraction for their whole stay in NY.
I honestly like this book than the first one. Though I was kind of skeptical at first with Layla because I thought she was just using Taylor as her rebound. But then I realized there's no timeline when people fall in love and I saw how much she really cares for him. Taylor feel the same emotions and I know that he wants her more than anything else.
Some conflict came around the last 85% which could've been solved quickly had Layla only told Taylor. But then I get where she's coming from and I know her reason comes from a good place.
Anyway, I liked that these two are open and honest with each other, and that they were criers too! 😂 I rarely read MMC who openly cries but Taylor doesn't have any problems showing his emotions not just with Layla but with his friends too, and mind you he did cry a lot in this story. He's an emotional person and he wear his heart on his sleeve. It's good to know that they don't hold grudge longer than necessary, and they forgive easily. They both gave each other second chances cuz they both made a mistake but made up for it anyway.
Overall, I enjoyed it. This is light and easy to read with a minimal problem at the end that was resolved quickly.

Taylor Hart is a notorious playboy who never sleeps with the same woman more than once. At least that was true until he meets Layla. She recently ended a bad relationship and Taylor was only supposed to be a distraction for her when they met at a nightclub. But one thing leads to another and they have a steamy one-night-stand that apparently neither one wants to ignore. Will they try to pursue something more? Or will the past come back to ruin their chance?
It was a story about a young cheated on girl, who was a bit naïve and a bit angry kind of successful with no knowledge of a relationship king of guy. and because they both had a bit of a hard time, they used each other as a distraction. It was a well written but with a not really surprising story, a bit funny, the falling in love part was a bit fast, but still nice characters and a nice HEA. All in all for a rainy Sunday the right literature.
This is a steamy good read I totally enjoyed and that kept me flipping the pages. The characters were wonderful and likable, and their interactions were engaging in this well written storyline about Taylor our playboy heartthrob and Layla our leading lady who just got out of a bad relationship who runs into Taylor at a nightclub that leads to a one-night stand. But is it more than a fling? I volunteer to read and review this second twisty steamy romance story in this fantastic series.
Off limits and an age gap story! I don’t think so…
This book is the first book in the Ventura Billionaires Club. This is Taylor and Layla’s story. Yes, there is an age gap but Layla is wise beyond her years and Taylor is perfect for her. Yes there is sex in it but not enough to turn you off of reading this book. I quite enjoyed it
Layla had been in such a bad relationship before. Taylor was a playboy with good looks. They had no idea how a chance meeting at a nightclub would change both their lives. Their romance evolves quickly, and becomes much more than a distraction. I thought the book was well written. I really identified with Layla, having also been in a terrible relationship. I was totally invested.
What started out as a mere distraction will bloom into something much more between Layla and Taylor. These two have chemistry that is exciting and filled with emotional growth. It was a fun read that was written with great thought.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A nice light read with a happy ending, a good dose of spice, and a girl who doesnt need a man to save her. They are both human and make mistakes and have to fix em.
