Ares, the typical hot play, decides to bet on his own dad’s best friend’s daughter in his ego. He would hate to sip from the same glass, let alone kiss her. But when he does, everything changes for him.

Iris is a typical hopeless romantic who has given the keys of her life to fictional men. Her only goal in life is to prove that she is way better than Ares but falls directly into his trap. When all her book fantasies start to come true, her heart ties an undoable knot.

Both become bound to each other by hate and sex, yet cannot resist each other. Even when they’re arguing and hating.

this book took me back to the time of wattpad, when i still read on that platform.
mine is a story i would've read a couple of years ago and probably given 4/5 stars, because it has potential. as i've grown up, it's not the kind of stories i read anymore (most of the books i used to read, reading them now make me wonder what was in my head 😂). enemies to lovers is a trope that doesn't drive me crazy, because most of the time the characters radically change their behavior as the story progresses, becoming completely different people.

despite this, as a book it fits in certain points, i would've removed some of the tropes (like mafia), which come out of nowhere and smoothed out the personality of the characters a bit, because honestly i find both ares and iris a little immature, spoiled and childish.

I tried to like it, I really did. It was too fast paced, too many tropes in one book, somehow the mafia were added when it didn’t need to be. The relationship between everyone doesn’t seem right, all the fathers was referred to as dad/papa by everyone and it was a little weird. The relationships between iris and ares were juvenile and very immature (why did she get mad all the time for things she didn’t need to, she seemed a little spoilt). Assault was added in as well? There was no plot and instead of sticking to a few ideas the author decided to add them all in making it hard to follow. Some of the ideas would’ve been great for another book instead. It had also referenced too many books.
