I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
❗️Disclaimed: This review isn’t to tell the author that they are bad or not. This review is simply based on my own personal opinion of the book. I do suggest you give a book a chance before you form an opinions about it and decide whether you like it or not.❗️

Stealing his sunshine was book that I was really exited for but unfortunately fell short. The writing style didn’t do anything for me and at times it felt like I was reading a fan fiction but not in a good way. The dialogue between the characters was awkward and they relationships felt forced instead of flowing nicely. I didn’t feel the chemistry between the couple and it felt more of an only lust relationship. There we supposed to be cute moments between them but I couldn’t really feel their connection so it made their relationship forced in a way. One part that unfortunately made me annoyed at this book was how much her drinking water was mention by the MMC, I know he wanted her to have healthy habits but there was no reason for it to be mentioned so much throughout the book and for him to get angry at her for not drinking water, I could understand annoyance at her bit anger was an unnecessary reaction to this. In the book there were mentions of topics that should have been addressed more by the characters instead of being glossed over because of how serious they were. One of those was the situation with the FMC best friend who was filmed without her consent while having s*x with her boyfriend where no one in the book gave her the choice or even mentioned to her that she could go to the police instead instead the FMC told her she could change schools, loose her scholarship and “struggle” like the rest of them who are paying for college. In the FMC defense she asked her if she wanted to move or stay and talked to her but I feel like someone should have given her the option of going to the police. If she didn’t want to do it it that was her decision as the one affected by what happened but no one gave her the option nor was it addressed in any way by the author that she had this choice. I also felt like the situation was glossed over when there should have been a more serious tone to this. Another situation that happened was when the MMC deliberately chose not to tell the FMC how they had met before and didn’t tell her until she recognized him during s*x, then the FMC proceeded to feel like she had been a “b*tch” to him because she left after that and only asked him for some time. Which was a totally reasonable reaction to what happened and everyone shouldn’t have said to her that she was also in the wrong. Unfortunately this book was not for me and even though I saw potential for it, it was overshadowed by all the things I mentioned before. I do appreciate that I was chosen and in no way do I want this review to come off as rude, I just wanted to say what made me give this rating to it.

This book is so pucking good! I binged the entire book and have no regrets. Lack of sleep, totally worth it! Who doesn’t love a hockey romance?! Add in some spice 🥵 This book has so many of my favorites (trigger warnings) IYKYK. 🏒hockey romance 🏒HEA 🏒spanking 🏒dubcon 🏒stalking 🏒daddy (literally) vibes 🏒age gap 🏒 hockey 🧊🥅
Oooo this book was soooo steamy. I gave it this rating because I got exactly what I needed out of this book.
1st. She sets up like an ad for "free play" and is hired by our hockey team. He is possessive over her & is obsessed when the evening ends. Constantly looking for her. 2nd. She is dating his son, who is creepy/stalkerish like possessive. They break up & ends up with dear old dad. 3rd. He is a hockey player, not like NHL just local league.
He reads her smutty audiobooks & records it for her, and she listens to them in class while fiddling the bean.
It was just really good on the smutmeter. Story line & plot was decent enough too.
Review is part of ARC Dragons and is my honest opinion.
I absolutely fell in love with this book, like super quick. I feel like the opening is one that a lot of people might have a fantasy about but never live it out, so this book is a great way to live it. Very spicy way to open the book with 🔥 🥵
While it is 'taboo-ish', being a younger FMC and an older MMC, the story is so cute and a wholesome romance story. We do get a bit of a villianesk character, one we can't help but hate.
The friends of the FMC are ones anyone would want and need in our lives. Always right there and Protective.
I also love how the story does not end on a cliffhanger.
For spice- this book ranks high on the spice meter 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5. If you like a little story with your spice, then this book is for you!!
Can't wait to see more from this author!! 5/5 stars!
This was solid! I read it in less than a day, I couldn’t put it down. I’ll definitely be looking for more books by Tanya! 🫶🏼 the spice was spicing 🥵🥵
I do think there is some backstory I wish we had more detail on, but I liked how the ex’s dad trope played in a lot! Nothing like a good ole’ silver fox 🖤
2 stars - I received a Arc copy of this book (not paid for reviewing just trying to help an author out) so here are my notes.
- writing style is very to the point, lacking descriptions and needs more emotion and though process added so we can get connected to the characters more and know the thought behind the actions taken in more depth. I wasn’t feeling anything for any character, apart from anger against the stupid decisions.
- dialogue is choppy and sometimes all over the place or hard to follow, mostly because each character sounds the same. It’s missing characterized details per character. Again no emotion in the verbiage, just very monotone.
- odd resolutions to “issues” to serious issues like not calling the police for the apartment break ins and friends sex tape issue. Also the whole son/dad dynamic isn’t really talked much on and that’s the big taboo in this story so it needed more. FMC gets angry for doing the literal, same thing that she does to the MMC. Communication is lacking with is a annoying issue for books now days because it’s very overdone.
- MMCs obsession for making the FMC squirt by making her drink water is like beyond absurd and a little much, it’s mentioned so many times I lost count.
- sex scenes are very lack emotion and short cut. We want details, descriptions, thoughts, feelings..
Overall it’s a good start, I think the premise of the book is good, this one is just simple and needs some oof to make it more interesting and emotion to grab people with the characters because the plot isn’t there so it’s really reliant on your link to the FMC/MMC. Also maybe an issue in the story and something that keeps you intrigued to keep reading. I don’t wanna bash anyone or hurt feelings, just my notes that would help the story from my point of view. Thanks for the ARC, continue growing! 🖤✨
Gideon is a hardworking man. He lost his first love by cheating on her and ever since then he has felt lost. Until one night with friends, he decides to do something he would have never have done before, UNTIL HER.
Elizabeth goes to college full-time and works at the bar as much as she can to make ends meet. Being poor stinks. One night she answers an ad, but some rules apply to this game.. NO PRIVATE rooms must use condoms and NO a%%L.
Tonight rules are meant to be broken.
Elizabeth and Gideon are two characters I would love to see more of. Their chemistry together are so explosive, raw, and untamed. I love all the characters in this book. I ate it up in less than 24 hours. It consumed me with all its twists and turns. This book draws you in and leaves you wanting more.
What happens next just blows me away
There are characters in this book that you will meet and that you will come to love and hate. One thing is for sure STEALING HIS SUNSHINE is a book., I will enjoy reading and rereading it over and over.
Tanya Lynn is brilliant and an amazing writer. She makes the words dance across the page with ease. This book is the perfect blend of everything. The right feels a little humor and yummy spicy scenes. I love it!!
I can't wait until this book becomes a physical copy to enjoy as much as I want. Thanks, Tanya Lynn for the wonderful opportunity to enjoy this amazing book. Can't wait to read more. Maybe Rachel will be next. Hint hint.
If you love a forbidden romance this one's for you. Stealing His Sunshine includes ex- boyfriend’s dad, age gap, daddy dom vibes and more! I was able to read this in one sitting. Gideon and Elizabeth “met'' one night at a party where she was there because she answered an ad. Gideon was hooked on her and tried hard to figure out who she was. It wasn’t until he met his son’s girlfriend he connected the pieces that it was her. Dylan (his son) had a lot of red flags and was no good for her. Gideon was able to save the day and then more sparks went off. They did start a relationship but things moved at Elizabeth's pace. Gideon was 100% the person for Elizabeth and made sure she was taken care of and taking care of herself because that is something she did not focus on. Eventually Elizabeth figured out it was Gideon at that part and was upset that he knew it was her but did not say anything. She was hurt and has been hurt in the past so her feelings were valid. Gideon respected her wishes that she needed space but would drop off gifts. Elizabeth did realize why Gideon was nervous to tell her. The side’s character we got to see were great and so supportive. Would love to get to see more of Elizabeth and Gideon, they have amazing chemistry and are so raw and expressive.
There was just something so captivating about this book. It sucked me in so fast and I could not put it down. It had everything I need in the moment: ✔️ Age Gap ✔️ Ex Boyfriends Dad ✔️ Loyal Best Friend ✔️ Hockey ✔️ Stalking
Gideon is a hard worker with his own company and he plays hockey as a hobby in his spare time. He has one wild night with his hockey friends but the girl makes an impression on him and he cannot get her off his mind.
Elizabeth is a full time student and works at the bar as much as she can just to make ends meet. One night she answers an ad to make some extra cash, rules that apply: NO private rooms, must use a condom, and no an@l.
These two come together in the story perfectly. They are exploding with chemistry. All the characters in the book really make this a great read. The best friend Ben? EVERYBODY needs a Ben in their life. The ex boyfriend Dylan? If I could throat punch him, I would. A lot!
I absolutely loved this book and could not get through it fast enough, only to want more! This is an age gap, ex-boyfriends super hot dad, romance.
Elizabeth is dating Dylan. But he is getting to be little much. She works at a bar while going to school. Lately Dylan has been super jealous about the smallest things and she has just had enough. After a situation leaves her stranded at a night club, she calls Gideon, Dylan's dad. She was instantly draw to the sexy older hockey player. But she was also not trying to complicate things. Clearly that doesn't work, or there wouldn't be a book. Gideon wants her. And he's willing to wait if it means he gets to keep her in the end.
The spice was an absolute slow burn. But when it finally got there, it was soo worth it. There are a lot of background characters included that I couldn't help but also want to see more from. I'm thinking Rachel may have a set of twins watching her and I'm ready to see that story!
Overall, this was a great book and I highly recommend it!
Not only does the female main end up with Mr. SILVER fox but it's her ex boyfriends dad! Talk about taboo.
This was a great read, absolutely consumed it. At times the story felt a little start stop but absolutely still would recommend reading it.
The writing was good, the build up was good. Little suspense, little tension and my favorite part was how the female main realized what she wanted and needing to explore things without the shame of wanting to. I absolutely love book boyfriends who support their partners fantasies and help fulfill them.
Very few relationships built in even popular books feel like yea they will be together forever. But here both realize what they have and need in each other and yes together forever.
But can we all agree that her ex boyfriend needs to be throatpunched and given a taste of his own creepy medicine. He needs so much therapy.
Highly recommend this read! 👌

I received an advance copy of this book. Some spoilers so please stop reading if you have not finished. Also, please give this book a chance as these are my thoughts and should not sway you to not read it. I would say my rate is a ⭐️⭐️.5
Items that bothered me were: -characters were a little hard to follow -relationship didn’t seem genuine and I was not drawn into the characters -healthy habits are important but I didn’t like the constant harp on her water intake and his reaction -I was not pulled into the storyline where I felt invested to keep going. -Books with spice are part of romance and adult fiction, but I still like a storyline and to get sucked into a fantasy world or the life of someone else. This book didn’t capture my attention and some portion I skipped paragraphs as it got a little redundant.
However, because the nature of this being an ARC I did finish the book. Had it been one that I was just reading for fun I probably would have DNF.

Dylan was definitely a POS. Why do we put up with men who treat us like that so long?
Luckily Elizabeth has the best group of friends around her...we need Ben's HEA please 🙏. I also want to know more about Luther's friends. It's good having a friend who has friends in low places.
What can I say about Gideon except how do we bring him to life and then clone him so everyone can have such a caring man in their life? As a mother with a grown son, also named Dylan, I would have treated him at least as harshly if I ever found out how he treated Elizabeth. But the way Gideon made her the centre of his world and showed her how she deserved to be viewed as a princess just gave all the feels. Plus the smut is out of this world.
Tanya Lynn is an automatic read for me. Don't miss out on her books. This was such a different book from what I've read before and I really hope she does more.
This was okay. I liked the whole free use kink but that was not expanded on. Like she mentions later on in the book she would like it again (at the club) but it doesn't come back up, did her friends know? What did she think of it? How did she go from that to dating Dylan?
Also I couldn't tell if maybe this author doesn't have kids but it was such a weird way to handle the situation. Like he was a single dad to this kid and then he kicks him out and seems 0% bothered, no narration or dialogue about it from the dad's perspective having kicked out his son.
Dad actually did seem like he was a bit of an asshole player with little respect for women (he even is an asshole to his hookups before the FMC in the book) but took no responsibility for that in the raising of this kid who became a stalking, abusive asshole.
I liked the other characters and the DD/lg vibes. A little confused by the ending with Dylan and the ex girlfriend of the MMC that is mentioned at the end but 🤷
I do want to disclose that this is a ARC read for me but I will be giving 100% my honest opinion and thoughts on this book!
The tropes included are: forbidden rom/ bf's dad 🫣, age gap rom, ✨Daddy/ Dom✨ vibes, hockey hobby league, fr33use🥳, exhibiti0nisM, plus more+ this is that Grumpy x Sunshine, HEA you never knew you needed!
This book is so freaking good! I binged the entire book it took me no more than 48 hours to read! While it is 'taboo-ish', being a younger FMC and an older MMC, the story is is a cute romance story. I don’t normally read a ton of sports romances but hockey is my guilty pleasure 🏒. I also love how the story does not end on a cliffhanger! For spice- this book ranks high on the spice meter 4/5🌶️. If you like a little story with your spice, then this book is for you!! This book was EXTREMELY well written I hope that one day there will be a second book!
I guess just typing the main character's name along with the drool emoji, is not an appropriate review. I mean, it absolutely applies in this case, but I should write more. How do you review a book that makes you speechless? I'll try my best. Check the content warnings and your preferred level of spice. If you like spicy books, this is one you need to check out. Right off the bat on page one it 'steals' your attention and won't let go until you finish. Although you will be dreaming of Gideon long after the last page. This is a hockey romance with just enough in there if you enjoy the sport but not a ton if if you're like me and don't follow hockey but you get the gist. Plus Elizabeth and her bestie forever will always make me smile. This book is the perfect combo of hot and sweet. 5 stars. what are you waiting for? stop reading this review and but this book already!!!
I absolutely loved this book. I read it in one sitting and kept getting frustrated when I was being interrupted 🤣.
This opens on a very spicy scene and I absolutely adored it.
Our main character is a stubborn, fiesty and very sexual which I loved. I adore seeing women embracing their sexual nature and wanting to explore new things.
Gideon is amazing. I absolutely adore him and his daddy dom vibes 😍 in all honesty he reminds me of my BF so that was fun.
I really enjoyed the exploration of childhood trauma and how that can affect the things you allow in your adult life which is a big theme in this story.
If you're looking for a spicy romance that is beautiful and full of the most amazing friendships and characters and a really healthy beautiful relationship that forms.
I am obsessed with hockey romance stories! In saying that I have only given this 3 stars for a few reasons. I received an ARC of this book, so it may have changed slightly since publication, however, I found the writing to be very direct, and the story felt clunky, but overall the idea was amazing and it fairly was well written.
I look forward to seeing other stories of Tanya's!
If you love: 🔹 Age-gap 🔹 Hockey Romance 🔹 Forbidden Romance Physical/Ebook: Ebook Pages: 292 Rating: 🌟🌟🌟 Spice: 🌶️🌶️ POV: Dual Series or Stand Alone: Stand Alone Tropes or Themes: Hockey Romance, Age-Gap, Stalking, Taboo Romance, Ex's-Dad Mentions: Stalking, Abuse, Emotional Trauma
I was given this book as an example of smut with plot, but it really doesn't have much of either. I can enjoy sex with no plot, but the sex scenes are brief and repetitive, almost clinical. The free use scene is a very short prologue that doesn't really have much in the way of what actual free use is and is just used so the guy can meet the girl- it's brought up at the end in a pretty nonsensical way to create a rift( more like a crack in the pavement, really) for the MCs. Overall, it's a book you skim and DNF after you figure out you're not getting anything new after the first 100 pages.
This IS an ARC review but I’m giving my HONEST opinion!!✨
I’ll start off by saying FUCK DYLAN!! And thank you Luther 🫶🏼
I really really loved that this was my first hockey romance because I LOVE AGE GAP!! This was absolutely amazing and I really went in without reading the synopsis, so I was BLIND!
I do wish the author would’ve taken the time to take us to the clubs and parties and stuff instead of just saying what happened there 🥲. Overall I really really loved this and I ATE IT UP. I LOVE a good spicy 🌶️ book with plot ✨
I am not one who gives 5 stars easily, but this book was absolutely amazing!! It also made me fall in love with age-gap again. This book is so freaking steamy, I loved every single smutty scene between Liz and Gideon. 5 stars for the smut as well. I cannot wait for the physical copies to be here, I will be buying again. Tanya did absolutely amazing on this book, I cannot wait to read more by her!!
Uhm miss Tanya! Girl! Absolutely loved it! I think this was the first age gap I’ve read that I loved! The spice was Perfect! The story line definitely worked. And as someone who’s stayed in a toxic relationship when I should have left at the first sign, I feel for Liz completely. Love your writing and can’t wait to read more from you! Sorry for all the “!” I liked it if you can’t tell 😅 I started and finished it in 1 day. Could not put it down.
Holy puck. I read most of this book in a day and I do not regret the sleep deprivation one bit. An age-gap hockey romance with lots of spice and some ironic twists that just left me like what the heck. Screw Dylan (wanted to drop kick him the entire book), team “mister it’s-only-fatherly” aka daddy Gideon all of the way! Damn. But we all need a Ben in our lives. Definitely can’t wait for more stories from Tanya! Overall rating: 4.25/5 ⭐️ & Spice rating: 4.5/5 🌶️
If your favourite tropes are the type that spell forbidden rom/ bf's dad 🫣, age gap rom, ✨Daddy/ Dom✨ vibes, hockey hobby league, fr33use🥳, exhibiti0nisM, plus more+ this one is that Grumpy x Sunshine, HEA you never knew you needed to add to your TBR.
Gideon, MMC, is *fcuking delicious for a silver-fox Daddy, and *fcuk if you don't got a guy bestie like Ben then what the fcuk?? And I seriously just want to **accidentally** push Dylan down some stairs, on accident- because, did I mention only on accident?
Honestly. I didn't know I needed this in my life but here I am, off to read some more seriously smutty and smitten books to make this SAHM Kitty Litty!
Want to find out more? Add to your TBR, release date is so very soon!
Do I know that much about Hockey? No and honestly thankfully. Just a touch, but the banter of the hobby league is on point.
Gideon is drool worthy, the way he cared for her, and honestly I'll eat up everything that is age gap. I also liked that the author didn't automatically go for the "Yes daddy," which is common in exboyfriends dad trope.
I'm so excited to read the other players books as they come out.
I was very excited for this book after the author advertised it on social media. But it fell short of all expectations I had. For being a smexy book they two characters didn’t have actual intercourse until 85% into this book. The dialogue was forced. There was a TON of telling and not enough emotion. The characters felt very two dimensional. It’s touted as a hockey book but there’s barely any hockey. And the ending? Meh. Underwhelmed.
I don't usually read sports romances but this one intrigued me, and it may just have caused a new genre in the lineup. The characters were great, there was a little mystery, a little spice and ever so grateful that certain things didn't drag out unnecessarily. Nope, not gonna give a spoiler. I really had fun reading this book!
He met her months ago but, never knew her name. She comes back into his life, but doesn’t recognize him. And she’s dating his son. He wants her back but, won’t interfere. When her life takes a bad turn he’s there for her. She’s drawn to him the first time she meets him, he seems so familiar. The closer the become the more she wants him. This hockey romance has some triggers Spice 18+
This has got to be one of the spiciest hockey romance books I have read yet. This book is legit everything and has it all, crazy ex, angst, spice, and love. God, I love Gideon. This man is everything. He is so sweet and caring he is the perfect man. I love all the characters in this book and hope to see some of their stories in the future.
