I navigate life with an infectious zest for adventure and let nothing hold me back. Drawn to the allure of this world, I find myself irresistibly attracted to this enigmatic older man who holds the keys to a realm she's never known.
The only problem is that man is Maverick Davis, and he’s my father.
Maverick
Where neon lights dance and secrets lie in wait, I rule over my businesses with an iron fist. Sex and desire are my currency, and I thrive in the darkness that engulfs my world.
Our connection is electric, a forbidden spark that sets everything ablaze. I struggle to resist October's magnetic pull.
After all, all I am is a Deviant, hell bent on giving into my darkest desire.
Club Opal is a safe space for people to explore their fantasies, with the only boundary being consent.
When 22-year-old October Davis finds herself watching an age play scene there’s only one man fueling her desire: Maverick Davis.
📣 PSA: This is a work of fiction.
Deviant is the top-notch, one-handed, taboo read we have come to expect from Tate. As always, what makes a Banned Baddie book different for me is the characters’ emotions jump off the page. Albeit unconventional, you know that their connection was undeniable.

After finishing Rory’s book Limerence, I was straight onto Tate’s and good lord these girls have filthy fucking minds. These books are in the same world and recommend both.
This story is Maverick and October and what a kink and smut fest it is.
This was full of the smut I do like, voyeurism, exhibitionism, degradation, praise and the list goes on.
My mouth hung open at points at the sex life Mav leads and October is just as curious. I can see why he enjoys running his “businesses”.
This was downright depraved and I lived it. I am tabooed out now by these girls. Such a fun read.
is this book really about October and her dad? tbh I cared only about Maverick and Lincoln dynamics haha really didn’t give a fuck about her sorry girl, let the men slay!😙
If you like your taboo books to be extra spicy, very kinky, have an age gap, dad/daughter, no virgins, a feisty as hell heroine, and a shameless hero then you will love this book!
From the first chapter alone, I knew I loved October! She’s sarcastic and has a fiery personality. She’s what every woman strives to be: independent, strong, and puts up with no crap from anyone. She knows what she wants and just goes for it. Definitely have a girl crush on her! She’s been having feelings for her father for a while, and after seeing him in a scene at Opal, she decides to just shoot her shot.
Maverick has lived a life full of no regrets or shame, doing what he wants, and providing outlets for people with unique tastes. He’s raised his daughter to never back down and to be a force to be reckoned with. When he starts to view October in a way that society says he shouldn’t, he tries his hardest to contain his urges so as not to taint or ruin her.
The chemistry between these characters is crazy, and they get up to all kinds of kinky and scorching hot moments. One of my favorite things about this book is that October is a curvy girl and looks more like me, and Maverick assures her how much he loves every single thing about her body. The side characters were great, and I loved all the crossovers and mentions of places and books from this interconnected world that Tate and Rory Ireland have created. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it to any taboo book lovers!
I love the slowish burn of this book… it’s hard to put it down because each chapter keeps building and building! 🔥 I don’t want to give away too much because I LOVE Tate’s writing so much. You put a book of hers in front of me and I’m dropping my other current reads for hers!
I love Maverick’s kinks and how open he is to October about his sexual desires. I enjoyed how he had Lincoln. 🐶
I love how October is fearless and goes for what she wants. She’s also portrayed as curvy, and Maverick LOVES that! 😍 October visits a sex club called Opal, which her dad owns (and she didn’t know that) and saw him with two others. After that, she started seducing Maverick.
She even brought an Opal club member to Onyx (the bar her dad owns) to make her him jealous… Umm hello! 🥵 (I also love her name) I did like how Justina was part of the story throughout, especially in her epilogue. 😏
And can we talk about chapter 17!?!! 🥵
Ugh - the ending of Maverick’s final chapter was so good. 💖 I wish this book would never end!
🍫
“I love our own version of domesticity, baby. I once told you that I would love you more than I love Hell. I would wrangle the moon and capture the sun for you. I’m not perfect, but I’ll never stop loving you and if I had to choose between you and the world…” I put my fingers under her chin and bring her face up to mine. “…Let the world fucking burn.”
Deviant by Tate Monroe is an age gap taboo romance.
This book is an extreme taboo romance I would highly recommend reading the content warnings before jumping in. This book is not for everyone.
The chemistry between Maverick and October was off the charts! I loved getting both of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I would highly recommend this book if you love extreme taboo romances.
“Deviant” was goooood—very Taboo. Not the, oh, it’s a little bit forbidden cause they are a step, or adopted, or grew up together. Nope. They are b*l*0*0*d Daddy/daughter related. If that’s not your thing, then “Deviant” is not for you. But for those that are not Tab00 newbies or even Banned Baddies newbies
Maverick owns a schemx club. October is his spitfire of a daughter. They have an unexpected evening encounter when they are both masked. After they recognize who they are, though, feelings that have been there are heightened even more.
After a little push and pull, they explore their forbidden relationship inside their home and at the schemx club. And as if the scenes were not smoking hot, the club scenes were even hotter.
As a reader, there are few things better than witnessing one of your favorite authors evolve and improve on their craft with each new book they release upon the world. It just solidifies your love for them more and more. Tate Monroe, ma’am, my jaw is on the floor…and I think I’ll leave it there for a while.
PSA: This is a suuuper 🩸 taboo romance – please be aware of what you’re getting into before diving in.
Deviant is Monroe’s most recent solo steamy entry in the Baddies universe, and she takes us right back to the exclusive Club Opal to spend some time with its unabashedly depraved owner, Maverick Davis. Those of you that have read Little Dancer know exactly who this man is, and I’m sure you’ve been champing at the bit to get another piece of him. I know I have!
At the heart of this book lies a character-centric plot, where the relationship between Maverick and his babygirl, October, takes center stage – figuratively and literally. The lust has been simmering, but a slow-burn romance hooks readers from the start. October is beautifully curvy, witty woman fueled by sass that gets all her deviant qualities from her dad. She may be the first to reach and grasp what she wants, but when Mav finally surrenders, their bond becomes an inferno.
The debasement and debauchery that pepper these pages are top tier— insanely imaginative, utterly filthy and k!nky beyond reproach. With desires so forbidden, it’s no surprise what transpires is just obscene (in the best ways possible). Steamy would be the understatement of the year. I mean, JFC, Tate…pet play was never really my thing, but gotdamn, I’d crawl if Daddy Mav demanded it.
This is a story about grabbing life by the horns and living it to the fullest, taking what you want without shame, regardless of what’s socially accepted. With extra splashes of body positivity and crossovers galore, Deviant is undoubtedly an incredible addition to this carefully crafted world Monroe and Ireland continue to build. Lots of returning faces, some new ones I now need to know about— I can’t wait to see where we’re taken next. I loved this book to pieces.
2.5 ⭐️ While I liked the taboo it didn't really go far enough for me, and had lesser page time than the overall story, which was kind of meh for me. I liked some of the messages and some of the dialogue but it didn't interest me enough to stop me from skimming. I do think the writing is technically better than an earlier work I read by this author, but there is still room for improvement (with the editing too).
This was actually my first ever read of Tate Monroe.
I've read several of her Banned Baddies counterpart's (Rory Ireland's) books and have several books that they co-authored together on my shelves but this was a new experience for me!
And wow 🥵🥵.
I've already been typing about this book so much that my phone automatically has the 🥵 emoji come up after I mention the title 😂
Deviant is a taboo 🩸 romance, so if you're not prepared for that, then that's perfectly fine but don't go into it unprepared.
I think the magic Tate weaves here is her ability to create an insane amount of angst and, because it's a forbidden romance, the spice just elevates to a whole other level.
I loved the storyline.
It interconnects in the "Banned Baddies" universe and you'll see some of the characters cross over or pop up in other books written by the duo.
We not only get a romantic plotline but also see glimpses of a setting that has it's very own living, breathing backstory.
So what other details can I give you without spoiling the book?
Well... Firstly, there's Daddy Maverick. This man is all kinds of 🫠🫠 He's tattooed. He's also older, which makes him both experienced and a man who intimately understands his vices and limitations (his limits are basically nil).
He's also a major hustler and has basically built himself an empire based on catering to the salacious, often deviant, needs and desires of his customers.
As Maverick says, his name is a self fulfilling prophecy by his mother's own design.
Then there's October.
She's a gorgeous, plus sized firecracker.
October loves to speak her mind, loud and bold. And she just can't seem to stop fantasizing about older men and calling them "daddy".
The witty banter that October has with the other characters had me absolutely adoring her.
There are numerous triggers and due to this, the book is only available on bannedbaddies.com
Triggers include:
Pet play Anal 3 some Mutual masterbation Exhibitionism Voyeurism Degradation and praise Spitting Snowballing Somnophilia Age gap Dad/daughter Sex and body positivity No virgins/ consenting adults
Quotes:
"What's the devil without a queen to conspire in sin with?"
"Deviant desires taste sweet and I've never denied my sweet tooth."
"You feel like every fucked up, bad decision dripping in platinum and emeralds. Leading me both to salvation and ruin. You. Destroy. Me."
"You are chaos in an angelic form for me. They call me a devil but make no mistake, I will love you with the same ferocity that I love hell. Wholly and completely. Never-ending and with no limits. I will capture the moon so you can bathe in its lights. All you have to do is wish for it and it’s yours."
Alright, Tate. Whew, Deviant had me in a chokehold.
This is extra taboo, with one hell of a simmering slow burn. I'm left pondering why I even had any hesitations, because surely I have zero now.
This book won't be for everyone and the relationship between the characters may be hard to wrap a brain around, but Tate has a way of writing that eases the reader into it as opposed to a "what the fuck" drop-in. I didn't think I'd be able to detach myself enough from every-day life to actually enjoy the book, but that is exactly what I did.
The focus of the plot is essentially the relationship becoming between Maverick and October. Maverick is in the business of kink and I enjoyed how Tate pulled from several other books in the Banned Baddies world to give this a little extra flavour, I see you. October is a fearless woman who really goes for what she wants and doesn't back down from a challenge.
The chemistry and steam between these two characters is a spark that sets it all aflame. I am enamoured by Tate's ability to bring her characters to life and Deviant was an testament to how I will give even the most taboo of reads a try so long as it's set in the world of Banned Baddies.
It’s a double daddy kink release by the Banned Baddies. Deviant is a standalone written by Tate Monroe, but takes place in the same book world as all the rest of Rory and Tate’s taboo babies. It wouldn’t be complete without a couple mentions of characters from other books, eh hem Atlas! And by daddy kink I mean of the 🩸 kind. Ooooooh, TABOO!
Okay, I’ve gone down the twisted rabbit hole of the forbidden cousins/siblings extreme taboo by the Banned Baddies, but I’d be lying if I said I was unsure about this type of pairing. Whew. Somehow Tate was able to turn my No Ways into Mmm Okay, and then finally into Hell Yes! Do I dare say Tate popped my 🍒 That was…unexpected and HOT! It’s so wrong, but then it will have you questioning just why is it wrong exactly?
The whole concept here is consent. Taking what you want and not living by the social norms our society pushes on us. Exploring your sexuality with safe boundaries. Daddy Maverick owns a few businesses, one being Club Opal. Club Opal is a place where you can let your inhibitions go and your fantasies can come to life. Then there is his daughter, October. October is a feisty woman with a take no bull attitude and I love her. She also has no shame. In truth, October is the real deviant in this story. Her thoughts have been wandering down a very forbidden path, but she can’t help herself.
The chemistry and the lust between Mav and O could set a forest ablaze. No trees were harmed in this story though. If you are curious but hesitant like I was, rest assured that Tate will ease you into this slow inferno and have you craving more daddy kink. I am a Banned Baddies fan for life!
Finally we get the story on Club Opal's owner , The tatted, aged like fine wine, dirty mouthed, take no sh!t attitude of a man. Maverick Davis. The man who created a safe space for people like him , with thoughts an desires so impure, covered in sin . A safe space for those to act out even the dirtiest of fantasies . Including Mavericks own twisted one .
October Davis is curvy , smart mouthed , take what she wants with top-tier bad b!tch energy . Daughter to Maverick, the two so alike the saying the apple doesn't fall far from the tree is perfect with this duo .
When October finally gets the pass to venture into club Opal, she finds its exactly what she's been missing . Intrigue pulls hard when she finds herself watching a scene take place , when October finds herself zoned in on the older gentleman within the scene and itsnjust an instant spark through her soul . Until she finds out who that gentleman is .
October pushes full force with daddy Maverick making him snap finally, an these two together . Mmm mm mm . DEVIANT the perfect word for this story. You just have to read it . I'm telling you . Tate Monroe is definitely a master of tab0o and I can't wait to see what else this author has instore for the banned baddies
This was one hot taboo story from Tate between her and Rory you can bet the stories are going to be hot af and a one handed read. This is a father/daughter taboo story that I remind you is fiction, but if you can't get past the taboo then this book is not for you. October Davis has been having fantasies of her dad as well as he's been doing the same, but they've not acted on it until she went to club opal one night and saw him in a scene that she had no idea it was him until after. Maverick Davis from a young age has had deviant thoughts about what he desires, so he decided he'd build club Opal where people could come and not be embarrassed be who they are and what they desire. He's been battling himself for wanting to do filthy, deviant thing's to his daughter until that one night and they both gave in to their desires, and boy was it hot, hot, hot.
If you love your taboo, filthy, extra spicy then you need to read this one.
I put this book off because I knew it was going to have OM/OW sex in it, which I'm not a big fan of. Maverick is the owner of a sex club and a sex island (?) so he was definitely going to be one kinky a$$ m*therf***er... and he didn't disappoint. Honestly, the OW/OM sex was okay...hot enough that I didn't mind ;) He also had OM join him and his daughter October, to some extent, and she was okay with it. I felt a little bad for Mav because he was (pre-book) verbally abused and took it to heart...that he was a deviant devil and would ruin everyone around him. Meanwhile, he was one of the most loyal of any book character so far in the "series". I'll be honest, I didn't get the whole "we are triangles" thing, lol...but whatever it took for him to embrace his relationship was a good thing. He doesn't come across as possessive or obsessed like the other men in this "series" but I guess that wouldn't align with his hedonistic and unapologetic personality.
Banned Baddies did it again; I cannot get enough of their books. It really is a guilty pleasure reading these books. Like you know it so wrong, but it's so good at the same time. Deviant is a blood-related taboo (father 48 and daughter 22), a 26-year age gap, with a whole lot of kinks. Maverick owns an adult club called Opal where he and others like him can indulge in their wicked fantasies. October stumbles across this establishment through a friend, not knowing her father owns it. She witnesses an act being played out and soon realizes the older man who's captivated her attention is none other than her father. From that moment on, she cannot stop thinking about her father in ways she shouldn't. Will Maverick cave, and both be led into sin? Will Maverick get to experience his deepest and darkest fantasy come true? This is a book worth reading.
Dirty and Depraved… When October starts to discover all the different layers of her dad she sets her sights on what she wants. She’s sassy, stubborn and sexually unsatisfied. She has desires that are taboo to the world but sets her body burning. Also this is a work of fiction and no way do I condone this behavior in reality, but between these kinky sheets give me more. Maverick has his clubs but he keeps one a secret from October until she comes as a guest on masquerade night. She doesn’t realize that the man in black that she’s fascinated in watching perform a scene is her father. Things get twisted, lines are crossed but in Maverick’s world all bets are off and it’s a devils playground. His club is for all proclivities. No matter how hard Maverick tried to put distance between them it just came down to fulfilling their desires.
October and maverick Club opal is a kink club where people can enjoy their fantasies This book is their story and omg I absolutely enjoyed this one October knows what she likes and who she wants the chemistry between this two was off the charts Daddy maverick oh wow that man is pure hotness 🥵🥵🥵 Again we see and other characters are mentioned from other books It’s very spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I definitely recommend reading but do check the trigger warnings before diving in But if you don’t have any triggers and enjoy taboo definitely check this book out
Daddy Maverick and October are the Devil and Lilith in human form, and oh man would I gladly follow them both to H*LL! 😈
October is feisty, knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to take it. Maverick is the same way - I mean come on it’s her Daddy (literally) so the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Hot tattoo’d older daddy — sign me the f*cK up’ The depravity these two get into makes me wanna be an addition to their fun!
Ugh Tate has done it again with giving me such a yummy taboo read! Go read this, now!
Maverick is in the business of several kink clubs and we get to see cameos from other characters in the Banned Baddies universe. October heads to Opal, a sex club, witnesses between a group of masked individuals. But come to find out, the ringleader of that masked individuals is her father. This wakes up hidden desires from both of them. This is deliciously hot!
TW/tropes Pet Play, Anal, Threesome, Mutual Masturbation, Exhibitionism, Voyeurism, Cum Play, Degradation/Praise, Spitting, Snowballing, Somnophilia, Age Gap(50H/22h), Dad/Daughter
Ok this one is 🩸 Relation, father/daughter. If that is not your thing cool, move on. But if you can remember this is fiction, dive right in. This was written perfectly. I loved Maverick and October. Their push and pull dynamic was 🥵. The couch scene? Ahhhhhh. I was so excited to read Mavs story and this one did not disappoint. As always, The Tate Monroe has knocked a story right outta the park! I do love 'visiting' Club Opal and each time I am not disappointed. The club scene where O was visiting will love rent free in my brain forever.
I love a good taboo story but I hate slow burns 😫😫 I read it pretty quickly, I wish there was more of maverick and October ! I do feel like maverick acted like a hypocrite at one point when she tried something with him and he put a stop to it, but he acted out scenes like that all the time. I do like that he didn’t want to share once he finally got his girl but I wouldn’t have minded reading about a threesome. I enjoyed the pet play part and wish there was more of that. Some of the characters actions and responses were a bit annoying to me as well but overall I enjoyed the book
Tates mind is just absolutely devious and I am here for it. Mav and O have absolute fire behind their debauchery 🥵🔥 this book builds you up to something you weren’t expecting. The slow burn really packs a punch. You rarely find a spicy book this well written empowering a thick woman but daaamn did Tate write October with so much oomph. Perfect Triangle 🫶
I finished this one last night as our power went out and what else is there to do besides read? I absolutely loved this extra spicy book! October and Maverick are 🥵🫠
I feel like I can relate to October as she is plus size and a bit self conscious, but Maverick makes her feel like she is a queen. We see some of Club Opal in other books, but I was excited to see even more! Also, there are cameos and mentions of other characters, which is always fun.
Definitely Deviant. I enjoyed the fact that these characters weren’t the cliché taboo characters. October (FMC) is a feisty, headstrong, know what she wants type, and she wanted her Daddy. And she wasn’t a virgin… gasp! So over the virgin trope. She had a brain and a mouth on her, and I’m here for it.
I loved that Maverick (MMC) was so exasperated with his daughter but also proud because he raised her to be headstrong and confident. Their dynamic was fun to read. This was taboo and hot 🥵
Dark, Dirty and Delicious There was definitely no shortage of steam or kinks in this book. I loved both Maverick and October. I loved that they both owned their sexuality as well. October was a great FMC. She smart, confident and sassy. Maverick is one dirty daddy. 😉 If your looking for a spicy and taboo, your gonna love this!!
