Savage Alpha is book two in the Shadowed Heirs series, a collection of paranormal romance novels centered around a group of aligned packs of wolf shifters. These books contain mature content (steamy scenes!), frequent use of profanity, and darker themes. While each book in the series concludes with a HEA and no major cliffhangers, there are some loose ends concerning the overarching storyline that runs throughout the entire five-book series. Each individual book is a standalone, but the series is best read in order.

Another amazing book by CJ Primer. This book follows Lo and Javier's bumpy road to not only fated mates but also the conclusion of Alpha Javier's plea for sanctuary within the Six-Pack.
These two on the surface couldn't be more opposite if they tried. Lo is the epitome of the sexy "nerdy" (because she runs the IT Hub) woman behind s computer screen and Javier is the Tattooed smooth talking "Bad Boy" forearm porn included. But within a few days of meeting, the full moon run is in full effect and they're both pulled by an invisible force.
Lo has been tasked with vetting Javi and his pack but she hasn't been able to find out anything about anyone and then finds out she's fated to a man that could have nefarious intentions...what is she to do?
I was excited to see that this story was interlaced with the previous book and all the characters I fell in love with made appearances throughout this book. There's twists, turns, betrayal, and a few surprises that kept me interested from the first page to the bonus chapter at the end (always read books to the very end you never know what you'll find!)
Check trigger and content warnings there is a few off page topics and some on that could be triggering.
Assault, off page, kidnapping, wolfsbane "drugging," and unaliving. Spice is a solid 3. You don't necessarily have to read the first book but if you don't there's several mentions of events that happen that won't make sense. Can't wait for what's next!

This book definitely has to be one of my favorites!! I need to add it to my little library ASAP!! I'm not too big on paranormal romances, but Savage Alpha makes me wait to read more. I'm not big on reading series, but I'm down to read the whole series, which does not happen often. Lo and Javi's story was spicy and very sweet. When he talked in Spanish/ called her Spanish nicknames, he won me over instantly. He is just the sweetest to her, and I love that no other guy has treated her like he has. You have to love his possessive moments as well. I'm so jealous of Lo. He's one of a kind. Not only that, but he won a place on my book-boyfriend list. There's a list of books/ book boyfriends that I would like to have my future boyfriend read. There's a lot that my future boyfriend, boyfriends, or just men in general can learn a lot from Javi. Take notes!! With the type of guy Javi, it's not surprising he had it rough growing up. Unfortunately, some of the best guys have had it rough in life. His mother and father were horrible. I'm glad Javi got the ending he did because I believe he deserves it and more. I 100% believe in what they said about mates/ relationships. There's a person out there made for you and designed to love you how you were always meant to be loved. I loved this book so much, and I hope you do too! I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

Book 2/5. Recommend reading in order and after six pack series for full character backgrounds. Once again she crushes it!! Amazing writing and balance of smut but story line. With that said, I won’t lie this has been my least fav of all the authors books, just because I saw it coming. I wish more time was spent on the twist but still great and I love the woman power in this series, even more than the six pack. Lo really comes into herself and Javi shows all his sides and his true heart and desire for a place to feel is home. Strangers to lovers, alpha male and lacking confidence female alpha who is super type A.
Recap:
Lo is the first born daughter of Jax and Quinn the former Alpha and Luna of Westfield pack who now her brother Iver is the alpha of. Lo runs the IT department of the security squad and is a hyper focused type that over works herself but even with her family and friends in the squad her bestie is Andie the daughter of Alpha Reid. Starting from the last book where Sloane had a feeling about the new alpha in town belonging with them, Javi of the nomad pack seeking refuge from the hunters, or so we think. After she can’t find anything on his pack of him she is desperate so she stalks closer out of town and of course he sees her instantly. They have some good banter and they instantly have a weird pull and attraction. Lo and Javi end up finding out they are mates the same night as Sloane and Madd but they kept it hidden. Lo scrubbed the footage because she had it investigated him and his pack yet. She was having a lot of confusion around why she can’t find his digital info and how they found them. He’s also hiding his mate from his Mom bc he is worried she might try to use her and he wants to know her first. Lo begins to meet him in secret at the lodge and they grow to learn about one another and fall quick. He is getting to know the other pack alphas as they wait for the council to decide if his pack can stay or not. When Lo is stumped she shows a pic to her Aunt Olivia who was captured by the shadow pack in the past and her Uncle Logan who she is named after, they also helped hunt down the remaining loyalists and she recognizes a woman, Delilah, she was very loyal and prego when Liv was held captive but they thought she died bc they never found her on missions. This send alarms through Lo and she puts it all together based on time lines. We learn that Javi is actually the son of Xavier, the evil Alpha who wanted to take over for all the power, that the six-pack defeated, but took many lives in the process. Lo is acting weird and Javi calls her out and they do it behind the bar for the first time, and they tell one another they love each other. Lo freaks out and doesn’t think she can do this due to his connection so she has one more night and kinda ghosts him. He’s so confused but since they aren’t public knowledge yet he just gets a threat from Avery who figured it out and tells Andie to help. He doesn’t know how to fix it so he tosses his phone and goes on a run. Lo is a mess but Andie convinces her to talk to him, her mate is worth it. When “he” says to meet him at his hotel she doesn’t question it and shows up. He is shocked and when she is shot with a tranquilizer by his mom he plays along to keep her safe but sends his bestie, Chey, to protect her. His mom took his phone and thinks this is the best to attack and take over the land of the six pack and get revenge for his father. He’s won’t risk his mate and realizes his mom was only Using him and he doesn’t even know if she truly loved him or just that he was her pawn. He does what’s best for his pack and mate and calls everyone to protect the right ones, and sends Luke back to give a letter and surrender if it keeps others safe. They agree but his mother attacks Lo and goes crazy. In the end Lo is saved and Chey kills his mother after she confessed to being the cause of her being forced by the previous Alpha. Lo is coming into her own and when Javi is taken into custody while they review everything she has him mark her and she confronts the alphas about them accepting it or losing her. Everyone had already agreed to the land of the resort to be the new part of the six pack for Javis pack. It will take time but Ashwood pack is forming with Javi and Lo as the alpha and Luna. We also learn that her brother Iver and Chey are mates, she has a lot of trauma but they are growing together.

🖤 Lo is head of IT and in charge of vetting Javi’s pack who want to join the alliance and stop moving from place to place every few months. She’s shy, nerdy, and super cautions not wanting to tell anyone she found her mate until she finishes her investigation so that she knows whether she can justify solidifying their bond.
🖤 Javi is alpha of his nomadic pack looking to find a home. His mom is his only family and she is cold, uncaring, and entirely self-serving. But you have to read the bonus short story about Javi’s parents to understand her better.
They realize the mate bond on the same full moon as Madd and Sloane but decide to keep their relationship secret until Javi’s pack is admitted into the alliance. They meet up at one of the abandoned ski resort cabins to slowly get to know each other.
Javi is great at adapting to whoever anyone he’s with needs him to be but Lo just wants to see his true self and not the smooth talker he shows everyone else. Javi breaks down her walls with his smirks, Spanish nicknames, daily songs, letting her take the lead, and being the only one who truly understands all of her. Lo was all over the place throughout the books which was kinda frustrating especially when she tries to push him away without a word. But when she’s with Javi her mind is calm and things seem simple.
Javi is keeping some secrets about his past. When they finally come to light will he choose to stick with his plan and if not will the six pack and Lo forgive him?
The plot is excellent and I love Javi and Lo so much as individual and together. I saw so much of myself in Lo which is why she was frustrating sometimes! But I loved their story so much! It made my first read of the year an easy five stars.

Segundo libro de la saga y mi favorito por el momento.
Savage Alpha sigue la historia de Lo y Javi, ambos personajes que conocimos un poco en el libro anterior y que en este toman las riendas de la historia.
Este libro tiene un inicio rápido que te atrapa desde la primera página, creo que el hecho de tratar con un personaje como Javi hace que se vuelva aún más interesante leer la historia y ciertamente la forma en que la autora la escribe logra atraparte completamente.
Esta historia es un "romance prohibido", y sinceramente es uno bastante agradable de leer, ya que en lo personal, no me gustan este tipo de romances porque se me hacen exasperantes, pero con este todo funciona bien.
La relación entre ambos personajes crece lentamente y gracias a eso vas conociendo mejor a los personajes y como realmente son, porque déjenme decirles que Javi es un amor y realmente amo como la autora lo escribió, su forma de ser y quienes lo rodean hacen su personaje adorable, agradable y entretenido. Algo muy similar pasa con Lo, la vamos conociendo poco a poco y la verdad es un personaje agradable de leer, que no exaspera y que te mantiene entretenido, y al juntarlos, pues simplemente son adorables de leer, además de tener una relación diferente a la de la pareja del libro anterior.
Y ya que hablamos de historia, otra cosa que me gustó mucho de este libro fue la presencia de un plot paralelo y medio secundario a la relación de los personajes. En este libro si se nos da un antagonista y poco a poco se va creando la trama hasta que la misma explota y aunque lo hace rápido, y de una forma corta, realmente ayuda a que se sienta un libro con mayor historia que el anterior. Además otro punto que agradezco de este libro es que ya no tenemos una cantidad, un poco, excesiva de escenas de sexo, de verdad que lo agradezco mucho. Ahora eso no quiere decir que el libro no tenga, porque las tiene, pero creo que la diferencia con este es que están mejor distribuidas y que el libro no se centra solo en la relación de los personajes.
En general, Savage Alpha me ha gustado bastante, creo que es un libro entretenido, con personajes agradables y adorables que te atraparan desde la primera página, además de con una historia que se siente más estructurada y con una mejor trama. La verdad un buen segundo libro y uno que te hace querer seguir leyendo las demás historia

If there is one thing I will fall in love with every time, it’s when an MMC speaks Spanish. It is an immediate swoon for me and a favorite microtrope! And javi’s little nicknames for Lo just had my heart from the get go. Javi is swoony and so charismatic, but the way he feels he can be his true self around Lo is just, chefs kiss!
Lo finds freedom in Javi. The whole book we watch her work through so much anxiety, and how Javi empowers to her to feel strong and confident is perfect.
This book might have the best jealous/possessive scenes I’ve read in a while!!! Both MCs have multiple scenes where they are unhinged for each other and I was here for it.
This read is for you if you enjoy the fated mates romance with the bad boy/good girl trope!

This is the third time I had the honor to read C.J.Primer's book as an ARC reader.
This story was fascinating from beginning to end!
After the 1st book I didn't think I could be more excited for the next one, but, boy, was I wrong!
I loved Javi from the first moment I read about him, he is compassionate, strong, and has a sense of justice. A person, who can do anything for their loved ones. And when he encounters his "Carino", he becomes a romantic lover.
I think I loved this side of him the best. Javi can assess things very carefully and is also a person, you can easily talk to.
Lo is a shy girl, who is smart and serious, but has a big heart. There was that scene with her parents and man, was she embarrassed! I loved her relationship with her family, like a big Italian close-knit, and loud family.
Her interaction with Javi is just above the charts. How he teased her, how he loved her, how she was attracted to him and still, could be herself. She's a very analytical person and tries to analyze every aspect of her relationship with Javi.
I felt during the entire book that something was coming, I didn't know when and what would it be. I was so lost in their lovely every day that I forgot what Lo's job was. And when it appeared, it hit me like a train.
The whole story had this excitement and also an awareness that something was definitely on its way. The curveball was a piece of information and that threw me off!
Oh, and I loved the songs! It was a nice touch in the story and that made me fall in love with Javi even more.
I don't want to give out any spoilers, but if you want a read with a mysterious character, a serious IT girl who explores her sexuality, and if you love a thrill, then this book is definitely for you.

WOW!! Javi and Lo’s story is filled with so much emotional turmoil, suspense, secrets, and twists that it kept me on the edge of my seat with my heart in my throat the whole way through, not knowing what was going to happen to these two wonderful characters.
I instantly fell in love with the feisty, smart and sexy Lo, and the super sexy, bad boy Alpha Javi. And I loved that while running as wolves under the full moon, they were pulled together by the fated mate bond (whether they wanted it to happen or not). They may seem like opposites, but even fate knew the were meant for each other. But not every relationship or fated mate bond, is perfect. These two have a lot of ups and downs and secrets to reveal before they can have any kind of happy ending together.
The back-and-forth banter between Lo and Javi was filled with sarcasm and wit, but the growing underlying sexual tension between them was raging out of control and would soon consume them if they didn’t give into the immense amount of lust, desire and craving that was wafting between them. You could feel how perfect the two of them were together. All of the little secret looks and touches had my heart utterly melting for what was growing between them. They are a total swoon-worthy couple!!

Partly Enjoyable Read 🤔
I really wanted to give Javi & Lo's a 5 star rating because honestly I really did enjoy reading it, however there were a few parts that really pissed me off. WARNING SOME SPOILERS HERE!!! I thought it was totally f**ked up how Javi was always holding and touching Chey. Yeah their relationship was supposedly platonic like a brother and sister, but since when do best friends or brothers and sisters hold each other like that?! I mean WTF...... I was thoroughly f**ing pissed off 😡 I also think Lo forgave Javi too easily. That was totally messed up on his part. I would have never forgiven him that easily. I would have given hell for that!! Also I hated the way they kept talking about how hot and beautiful Chey was even Javi was saying that and the story wasn't even about her, it was about Lo & Javi. That also really pissed me off 😡 I felt really bad for Lo, I mean no wonder the poor girl was insecure. It was so messed up of Sloane to tell Lo how Javi was gonna end up with a blonde hair girl with big boobs knowing that Lo had feelings for Javi. I mean WTF?! END OF SPOILERS!!!

These 2 come together in the most epic way. Who doesn't love a good star-crossed secret fated mates story with a dash of drama and a whole lotta spice? Plus the dedication alone... "For the girls who thought there was something kinda sexy about Kovu in Lion King 2… I see you." A girl after my own heart with that one. Lo battles with herself and certain insecurities that I'm sure all is girls can relate to at one point or another but Javi works wonders with making her feel cherished and seen. Pshew those nicknames Javi gives her, talk about melting panties!! The daily songs Javi sends her takes me back to the OG days of Theo and Brooke connecting through music. It hits all the feels. There are always a few wtf??? moments but as you learn from day 1 of reading these books, trust the process and you will get the HEA in the end. CJ knows how to take you on the ride of your life with each of her stories. Through interconnecting them all, leaving hints about whps next with her cookie crumbs, through all the twist and turns, up and downs, you are drawn in from the very beginning. Once you start, you're hooked and it only intensifies with every book.

Oh CJ Primer, you've done it again! I fell so quickly in love with this book.❤️ I have so much love for the original six pack characters, but this next generation is really coming into their own and I'm really loving them on an almost equal level. 🤫🥰
I could not put this book down. In fact, I really didn't. I woke up early to it and did not stop until I finished. 😍 My heart went through some things as it always does when reading one of these books, but I will say there were a couple moments in here where I just wasn't certain that my heart was going to be okay 💔. I believe I said out loud more than once "wtf is happening right now?!
Lo and Javi were precious together from the very start. I loved watching things unfold 🫠🥰🥵🥵🥵(except for those few wtf moments 🥺). I always want more, but this book really didn't feel like I had enough time with them. I don't think I will ever not love a book in this universe, but I don't think I realized until now how as each book comes out my capacity to love just grows. 😘

This book had me hooked from the very first chapter. From the very beginning, I had a feeling that Javi's mom was up to something, but I was definitely not ready for the shock from the revelation of the mystery behind Javier's mom. Although after this I had a feeling of what the big reveal would be, the scene where it actually comes to light was so well written that it had me screaming.
On another note, I absolutely loved Lo and Javi. Their personalities, their relationship, how they were willing to give everything up to keep the other safe... This is a totally swoonworthy couple. Also, I was so happy to see Chey get her own hea. I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of her in future books.
And I almost forgot, that short story at the end... CJ, I know you've said you won't write his story, but you can't tease a girl like that and leave her hanging...

I can't get enough of C.J. Primer's books. This is the second book of the Shadows Heir series. C.J. has such a way with words and an ability to depict a story that just makes you feel like your right there with them.
This story involves Lo, sister to one of the Alphas in the six pack, and Javier, a nomadic Alpha looking to join the six pack. They realize they are fated mates shortly after Javiers pack makes contact with the six pack. Lo tries to keep him at arms length not knowing who he really is or where he came from. There is a lot of drama and danger involved in the shifter world and she needs to remain guarded.
Reading how they try to fight the attraction at first and then slowly have to give in to it was sexy and spicy and everything you want to read.
C.j. always throws in some twists in her book that keeps you on your toes but this book is definitely worth the read. I highly recommend it.

This was not my first CJ Primer book, I fell in love with the six pack series from the very start so naturally I couldn’t wait to read the Shadowed Heir Series.
Savage Alpha does not disappoint in the slightest. I stayed up nearly all night just to finish this book because I couldn’t put it down, it’s a real page turner that will suck you into the story. The chemistry between Lo and Javi is undeniable. I loved watching Lo and Javi navigate their feelings towards one another while dealing with the outside world, outside of their little love bubble.
But after a few surprising twists and turns, you don’t know who you can trust anymore.
The banter between them is hilarious and I love that a few characters from the original 6-pack make an appearance showing off their true Alpha personalities.

Javi is a savage and I love him. He’s such sweetie underneath, with mysterious intentions and interesting past. Lo is such a relatable FMC, she’s insecure, anxious, dedicated, smart, and on a mission to find out more about the new comer Javi. Javi is mysterious, cocky, confident, smooth, handsome, cunning, and deep down he’s a sweetie, super protective and possessive, (and so is Lo). But he carry’s a past that leaves you wondering what his motives are. He’s trying to win Lo over, gain her trust and prove he’s good for her as they get to know each other more. It’s a shifter romance (book 2), with Touch her and die vibes, secret relationship, fated mates, lots of spice, twists, betrayal, opposites attract, forbidden romance, star crossed lovers, dual pov and so much more. If you love these things you will love this book. Javi is definitely on the book boyfriend list! Loved this book I chewed through it so fast.

Plenty of twists and turns throughout the book, you think you’ve got it figured out and then something else gets revealed and leaves your theories by the wayside.
C.J.Primer excels in balancing romance and action in her books which keeps the pages turning. It was great to get to know the next generation a little more and I’m already trying to imagine where their stories will lead. I’m looking forward to seeing how the storyline with the hunters evolves and how the packs handle the new threat.
Another excellent addition to the series. The Shadowed Heirs series has become very much as addictive as the Six Pack series.

He is so swoon worthy and the Spanish endearments he gives Lo🫠🫠 I will tell what I was NOT expecting was the freaking plot twist that happens! When I say I was shocked! I don’t want to give anything away, and I feel bad for a certain someone, but the villain in this book gets exactly what they need!🫣

If you’re a huge fan of the Six Pack series the Shadowed Heirs follows their kids and is just as entertaining, as the OG group. What I really liked about Javi and Lo’s book is the angst for me was pretty low compared to her other books (which she’s taken the title of Queen of angst for me), especially Madd’s & Sloane’s book (that one killed me). Both Javi and Lo were extremely well-developed characters, and I really enjoyed the storyline in this one. I will say the spice was a bit lacking compared to her other books, but man is there some good build up. If you’re a huge shifter fan I highly recommend this next installment of the Shadowed Heirs. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

▪️ This was my first book by C.J. Primer and I can say that I were not disappointed! This book was a real page turner and I really couldn't put it down🥵 Since this was my first one, I noticed pretty quickly that I was missing the back story to the characters in the book. But that really didn't affect how good it was. Finished reading Savage Alpha by my girl @cjprimer who again, has blown it out of the water. If you’re like me, and you drool over pet names…then this book won’t disappoint. This Alpha will burn the world down for his girl, and he proves himself to not only her, but her family and friends too. Also, can we just appreciate his use of ‘preciosa’ and ‘hermosa’ has me 🫠🫠 Javi had me in a chokehold, and Lo puts her man in his place. If you’re into shifters, fated mates, SPICE, HEA, then please read this book. You won’t be disappointed, and you’ll be begging for more. This book is the second book in the Shadowed Heirs series, if you haven’t read the first series, The Six Pack, start there and fall in love with these characters!! You won’t be disappointed!

Lo Anderson is the Alpha’s sister of the Westfield pack. She is number one in IT of the Six-Packs security team and is the best in her job. Javier Cruz is the new Alpha of his nameless pack, that does what it is needed for his people. These two’s unexpected fated bond is bewildering. C.J. Primer created these characters to be no more alike than the sun and moon but their love and connection is undeniably. This is by far an amazing book that took my breath away. The secret love affair, the pretending, the secrets, the unknown is all too much but it fits so well for this story. If you’re looking for shifters, enemies to lovers, fated mates, & crazy hidden pasts READ THIS. Oh & the spice? Get your friend ready;)

Savagely sexy
I truly enjoyed this book, Javi and Lo were an amazing couple! I loved the innocence of the Lo character and how she reminded me a little of Brooke being the IT nerd and a little unsure of herself but how she could easily switch to this feisty don't mess with me vibes when needed, I found her character refreshing. I loved Javi's charming nature from the start and although there were hints he wasn't all that he seemed you could tell his love for Lo was pure. There wasn't a thrilling anticipation throughout this book as to what was being hidden and how everybody would find out with more than one element, it made for a really great read, 4.5 stars. I also loved little nods to the original series adapted to fit these characters. Loving this series so far.

This was by far the quickest I have ever read an ARC before, and that is truly saying something. While I'm not one typically into books, having to do with wolves, this book is the exception. I fell in love with Javi and Lo they were so cute together. I like my books with a little bit of forbidden love, and this book delivered on that. This book being dual pov just made everything so much better because i got to see both characters' perspectives, which made it so much better. It's faced paced but super easy to follow along, which makes for a nice and easy quick read.

Oh my god, I'm obsessed with Javier. Instantly fell started with him, Lo, and their journey when I started reading. And the Spanish… so fucking hot.
Savage Alpha is easily a read in one sitting book because once you start, you don’t want to stop. Probably due to their off the charts chemistry, as well as this book being essential to the overarching storyline throughout the series. It set up the next book perfectly and I can’t wait to see where CJ takes it!
The Shadowed Heirs series is shaping up to be just as addictive as the first generation six pack series and I absolutely adore seeing the OGs make their appearances and this group of friends find their way together!

Wolves are something else. These hungry wolves just like Javi. He has a purpose and within that purpose you get his want for Lo who kind of plays hard to get, but at the same time, lets herself just a bit.
Lo and Javi were just the cutest and how their romance started, lets not even get there. Even though these two had a thing for each other, the heat between them was intense! I can feel it radiating off the story! It was still full of excitement and not to mention, the secrecy making it even better
I loved the story line and I’ll be reading book 1 just to make sure I didn’t miss anything.

Javi and Lo got me almost feeling like I did with Theo and Brooke.
CJ does an amazing job when writing these alphas and the girls they are fated with.
I am always just dying to know what comes next and always just smiling as i read.
Javi and Lo are complete opposites in every sense but they just work.
I can’t wait to read Reckless Beta
But in the mean time - im gunna be read Ruthless Alpha
