What would happen if you time traveled back to the 1950s and met someone who became your friend but you find out later that your friend is actually your father as a kid. This science fiction book by Sheri Cooper Sinykin to me i thought was an average or ok book.
The setting is in Jody Andersons house who is the main character and the time period is the 1990s then into the 1950s,in this book Jody Anderson wants to spend more time with his dad,His dad tells him that he was the best at hide and seek so Jody challenges him to a game and he thinks he found the perfect hiding spot in an old tv set but he soon seems to be falling hearing electric sounds when he stops he found out he was in a different living room and a different time. So he meets a friend and his name is T.J. and he soon finds out that he is his father then he figures out that in order to get back to his own time he needs to play hide and seek with his father at an exact time to get back, but can he? The conflict of this story i think is person vs. technology.
In this book i thought the story was ok, I was surprised when he found out he was in a different time.I liked how the author put in the twist that his friend T.J. in the 1950s when he time traveled was actually his father i thought that was cool.I liked how also he was able to learn about his fathers past by being in the 1950s.
One thing i didn't understand though was why he had to play hide and seek again at an exact time to get back to his time.My favorite part was when he found out he was in the 1950s i thought that was shocking and i thought what was he going to do. At first i had predicted Jody would get back to his own time but i didn't know the only way was to play hide and seek at an exact time.
In conclusion i thought the book was ok the book i would rate a 6 out of 10 because it can be cool to some people but to others it might not be all that good.I would recommend this book to people who like time travel and to people who like stories about a character getting to know more about his parents. So if you went back in time to one of your parents time period what would you do to get back to your time.
