THICK AND THIN is funny, intense, and sexy. It's about falling on your face, wallowing in self-pity, then getting back up and realizing that love doesn't just endure — it evolves. Even when it’s dragged through thick and thin.
Big boobs, tiny waist, wide hips, and long legs. Hell yes, that’s me, Zelda Gordon. The world calls me plus-sized.
Tobias calls me his friend.
Drew and Aithan? Those sexy, loving fellas call me theirs and I call them mine.
When I look in the mirror, I’m starting to see the beautiful woman my guys love. We’ve finally put the murderous spite of ex-everybodies behind us and settled into a peaceful life in our new home.
Or so we thought until time and stress come at me with a vengeance, malice burns Aithan where it hurts the most, and worry crashes Drew’s writing mojo into a brick wall.
That monster spite may be taking a breather, but life’s dragging our love and friendships through the thick of it.
NOTE: If you find cussing offensive, if you skip past the sex scenes, or if the idea of multiple love interests makes you clutch your pearls (not in a good way), The Fatkini Chronicles ain’t the books for you. But, if you love curvy girl, chronic illness romance with a why choose relationship and two cinnamon roll heroes who are all about her happiness, then this series is calling your name.
I can’t with these 3….I need to meet them & figure out how to be part of their harem…with the health stuff Zelda has going on, the personal stuff out of Aithan control he has going on & Drew just maneuvering through past drama/trauma you would think Train Wreck….these 3 love each other so much though it’s going to take more than a bad attitude, health scare & property damage to tear these 3 apart….I’m enjoying/loving every minute of it
Greer is a piece of work…always the loving big sister looking out for the best interest of her little sister Zelda…yeah right…still as self absorbed as ever
The Baloney Pony!!! I almost spit my drink out…pretty sure I laughed uncontrollably though that whole conversation
Each book I read in this series peaks my curiosity….Zelda’s diet….I need to do some research on some of the things she eats & drinks….some of her choices sound interesting & worth giving a try
I will say in a series I usually have a favorite…so far this series I don’t…I love them all!!! Well truth be told as the series progresses I love whichever book is the most current over the last…that changes every time the next book comes out & yes I’m ready for book #4 Thinly Veiled
I'm so conflicted, because I WANT to like this book. But Zelda Claudette is absolutely a (self insert?) Mary Sue, Drew is a thin glimpse of a hero, and Aithan is partially written.
I know this is a series but it feels like at least a handful of chapters were left out. The plot skips around. This should not be read as a standalone but even with the series as a whole, this book is... odd. And I think it's because it feels incomplete?
There's a thin glimpse of a plot line that isn't mentioned in the description: Zelda has graves' disease and needs to have surgery, but doesn't want to. She frequently blows up at one of the guys but not the other. She VERY much doesn't like herself - she is extremely jealous of almost anyone talking to her boyfriends, constantly wishes she wasn't so insecure, but she doesn't do anything to try to work on that.
Not enough spicy scenes to keep me interested, not enough self-work to keep hold of me, not enough of a plot to keep me wanting more. I'm so absolutely disappointed.
If you're hesitating about reading this series, don't, the quality and depth of the story only improve. These characters have lives that have that tone of reality, and it never lets up.
Zelda's Graves Disease is never hushed up in a corner and left there because it's inconvenient to the plot, and I love that. Chronic illnesses are always there hovering in the background, and the author describes that lingering uneasiness to perfection. That feeling of those around you observing your condition better than you because they're clocking the smallest of changes while you try to ignore them because normal is the goal, right? And ignorance is bliss, but it won't make your condition disappear, no matter how hard you try.
Read this series! This is what romance actually is! Getting through not just the happy times but the hard times too, because it's easier with the people you love.
I received this as an ARC in exchange for a review.
Okay, this one is my absolute favorite so far! The spice was spicy and the tea was boiling hot!
Seriously though, Monica Ross does her research and uses the information she knows well. The descriptions of Zelda's Grave's and the impact stress has on it is used so well here. I know Monica mentions in her end of book blurb that she also has Grave's, so clearly she knows what she's talking about. Another solid thing was the use of EMDR for PTSD treatment. As someone who works in the field of psych, this is something I push people to do if they have severe PTSD.
The drama with Tobias' ex-wife and Zelda's sister just kept coming in the best way possible. It definitely added to the stress levels, which pushed the story along.
I absolutely cannot wait for the second one. I need to see more of the drama and our favorite trio!
So much happening! Not the hugest fan of how the Tobias & Zel situation went, just felt off since he was so adamant about not seeing her but then turned around immediately to Jill. Greer still sucks. Drew & Aithan are still adorable. Glad the crabby Zel is fading off, as someone who lived in debilitating pain for ten years I get it and totally empathize but not a fan when reading it and it goes on a long time and is all directed at Drew. I kept feeling she needed a therapist just like the guys. We will see how this shakes out with Livi and the email. And yay for a wedding!
The characters are great. I enjoyed following a long with them, enough so, that I will continue with the series to see where it goes. But I almost put this down when there were point of view (POV) changes. It was very annoying. The author needs to either make the whole book 1st POV or the whole book 3rd POV (I hope not, as I don’t like 3rd person and would probably quit a 3rd person book). The FMC (female main character) is all in 1st person, but the MMC’s (main male characters) are all in 3rd person. Makes for very confusing chapters mixed into the rest of the book. I don’t think I would read any other series by this author due to that. She definitely writes compelling characters though.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this MFM romance series. It is a treat to spend so much time with characters and getting a real in-depth feel for each of them, their personalities, backgrounds and how they are moving forward together. So far, I would have to say this is my least favourite book in the series (although it is still great), as I got a little annoyed with Zelda's attitude regarding her health. As a person who also suffers with thyroid issues I love the representation and the insight these books give but the FMC was frustrating me. I loved everything else about the book though, especially the love and support from the two MMCs. A great addictive series.
This book covers many obstacles in which the characters have to work on to overcome. So much happens with Zelda's health, and Drew's and Aithan's past trauma. Mental and physical obstacles are dealt with, then lead to a much closer bond between the three.
Greer is a continuous thorn in Zelda's side, to the point that I believe cause the thyroid storm that nearly killed Zelda. She has no regard for her sisters life, except to cause mayhem.
You don't have to read this one to start the series - I discovered it after I'd read the first three. It's a delightful introduction to the initial two characters, and I was tickled pink when I saw that it was available. Wonderful read with more backstory to Drew and Zelda, and I heartily recommend it.
Wow there was a lot in this book. Still adore the relationship of Zelda, Drew and Aithan. I think they’ve become one of my favorite adult book couples. Another great story that has kept me intrigued and reaching for the next book! Well written, well edited, and a fantastic adult relationship that doesn’t have me rolling my eyes at most of the scenes. Happily going to the next book! 🌟🌟
I have a hard time with books where almost everything happens to the main character(s). It's a bit much!! Over the top for me... The Jill/Tobias coupling doesn't sit well with me either... I dont know if it's the way the story is written or what, but.. it's off putting!
This series is dragging a bit too long. Zelda is on the edge of unlikable throughout 90% of this one. This POV is exhausting and pretty unsatisfying. There’s not much here to be excited about. Next up is another psycho ex girlfriend.
Why are we getting chapters with Tobias' POV? He's not one of her guys. He toyed with her and then moved in to the neighbor. I'm down for him being a friend but if he needs his own "voice" maybe put it in the epilogue or in a .5/in-between novella.
Loving this series! It's funny, dramatic, spicy, romantic, covers real topics like mental health, body confidence, it's, invisible illness, family drama. Reverse harem trope but it's so much more than that!
Absolutely so much happened within this book that I’m emotionally drained I think…😓 I literally felt all the emotions from every single character that my heart hurts but is happy. Probably my second favorite so far in the series.
Ughhh what to say about this?! Well first off you didn’t disappoint me one damn bit!! I dunno if I wanna hate Greer or feel sorry for her at this point ( I really don’t like how she used Zel) . Aithan has been thru hell and back he’s definitely deserved so peace here soon. I’m so happy for Tobias he definitely deserves the happiness he’s getting from next door! 😏. I’m happy Zelda is sticking up for here when it comes to her sister. I was definitely happy about belated Valentine’s Day! I’m so ready for the next chapter in there lives so much drama to come & I’m ready. Thank you so much for letting me become one of you’re arc readers.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
These last few chapters will have your jaw drop and you saying out loud,"Wait What? We finally found out who the body was in the fire. Zelda is on the recovery end of her surgery. There is going to be a wedding, but with who?
Chapters 21-27
These chapters wow what a major, major roller coaster of emotions. I am SO glad Zelda is on the mend. Even though Aithan has a major issue going on,he and Drew are there for her as always.
Speaking of Aithan we all know that, he will get the gym up and running in a new amazing building. Does anyone else want to smack this Maeve lol. Oh and we have another snort laugher Drew!!!!
Chapters 16-20
Wow, the after math of the fires, poor Aithan. At least they will be able to still keep those clients. Oh and the secret that Tobias had is out. Hiding the cannoli 😂. Oh Lord Monica what are you doing to us, naughty piggy chapter had me giggling and Yes!, Aithan is a snort laugher. Wow chapter 19/20 will make you cry (I did),but of course Zelda will pull through.
Chapters 11-15
I'm am so happy Zel finally decided to take care of her health. Now that Drew got a tattoo,I want another one(thanks Monica lol), and I can't wait to see what Aithan gets tattooed.
The receptionist who works for Zel's agent Holly, who's name is Dwayne (in my head I see Hollywood from The Mannequin).
Chapter 15 really hurt my heart, I gasped out loud while reading it. Poor Aithan and Tobias. Who's body did the cops find yikes?
Chapters 6-10
Zelda's health is a major factor in this book, but I commend Monica for bringing Graves Disease to light. You never know if you will have a family member, student,or friend with this disease and if you read this book you will know what to do.
We have a new character and it doesn't look like Zelda is liking this new character. There is a fight at Tobias's bar on New Years Eve,but between who?
Chapter 10 hurt my heart(yes I know it's a book), but I felt so bad for Zelda in this chapter.
I CAN'T WAIT to read more
Their backkkkk for another adventure. Zelda,Drew and Aithan. This is my third book of Monica Ross and this is my honest review.
Chapters 1-5
New house and it sounds beautiful. (Monica us fans need a P.R. box with art work of Aithan,Zelda,Drew and Tobias and the house 😃).
Ok Ok back to the review so new house, and someone else pops up in Zel's life with news OH -NO.
Poor Zel her health is not doing so well, she is getting triggered ALOT,but Aithan and Drew are doing their best to help her.
They have two new family members (Aithan's belated Christmas gifts ).
