Other than issues with padding -two entire chapters are copied from the previous book, instead of giving a summary- its the same quality as the first book in this two part series. Direct, comprehensive and dry. No forced jokes or obsessive interest in making learning CCNA hip and cool. I personally liked the dryness, especially for IT guides, but for those looking for something written in a more approachable, plain language style I'd suggest Todd Lammle's two part CCNA books. For those with little IT experience, especially novices to networking, I highly recommend clawing your eyes out and eating a liter of glass as an alternative to attempting to tackle this book in less than a month. Its a great guide, its just that the subject matter is not novice material.
Sort of 2.5 stars? I appreciate having the testing engine with it, but I found the topics felt skimmed over, and I fear this isn't just a feeling on my side. RSTP is covered in an appendix only, VRRP gets a passing mention... I found the ICND1 book much more useful by comparison, in that it taught me much, much more (I started from basically nothing, except knowing what ipconfig /all was).
I advise completing this one with other materials and with blank exams (like VCE ones).
