In September, everything starts preparing for change. From seasons, to nature, to people, there are no exceptions to this rule. While the warmth of seasons past start to cool at our feet, and the crisp chill of seasons to come are knocking at our door, we are left to question with our hearts and our hands, will we know which way to go when September ends?
Sabrina B. Scales is a national best-selling author of vibrant and passionate romance whose unique style of writing highlights real stories about real people falling in real love, and can be attributed to her humble upbringing in a small town in Southeast Texas, where happy endings were usually the result of hard work.
When September met Ori, it was not a good first impression. But Ori's charm won her over. Ori came off a little grumpy, but deep down, he was a softie. September was sweet, funny, and was in the middle of mending a broken heart. When she met Ori, she wasn't looking for a relationship or love. September definitely had some healing to do, but her and Orion had a super cute thing going. It was sweet…especially the ending. I really enjoy Sabrina's writing.
Glad I happened upon this book. Both Ori and September were loners, keeping their circles small. When they meet it is less than ideal, as Ori shows September a horrible impression of himself. However, he cannot stop thinking about the beauty who is not giving the "Chef Orion" all their attention.
September is like the dog whisperer or something, as she is able to calm and groom Sheba, the dog no one else could handle. Guess who Sheba's owner is? None other than Ori. As Ori rights his wrongs and shows September that he is not the ass of a man she met, they quickly bond. Cute quick read.
I was singing the lyrics to the EW&F song every time I saw her name. This story was more lighthearted than filled with angst. I needed this story for real. Here's the scoop: September met the famous Chef Ori accidentally when she had to return his dog. The first meeting was not so pleasant for September. Even though Ori had eyes for September, he was not about to admit that to save his life.. And happily he and Seppy found a great way to communicate by the end of their really sweet love story. I loved this story. 5+ stars...
This book kept it short and simple. Their courtship progressed quickly. The predictable third act breakup came with a lot of unnecessary angst. Their reconciliation moved as quickly as their initial courtship. I don’t typically like grumpy leading men, but it was clear that Orion was a softy at heart. His guarded nature was misread as a bad attitude. He turned out to be a sweet guy. He was the highlight of the book for me.
This author is consistent in giving us a heartfelt love story that will have you laughing in some scenes and turned absolutely on in others. Ori and September gave me all the feels and I thoroughly enjoyed their unlikely pairing because they were both so stubborn.
September was just getting out of a relationship that was full of lies. Orion was content with not being in a relationship at this point in his life. Orion and September met when September delivered his dog, Sheba, back to him. September didn't take anything off him and Orion was instantly intrigued by that fact. This was a very delightful story to read. Orion got past September's stubbornness and September brought out the best in Orion. I really loved the connection between Sheba and September which shows that animals know good people when they meet them. I couldn't stand Orion's trifling ex. I was waiting for her to get what was coming to her. You definitely need to pick up this book because it was such a cute read.
This was a good read. I’m glad September didn’t play around and Ori rightfully had to give chase after her started their first interaction crazy. I’m also glad he was humble enough to pursue her even though she didn’t fall to his feet like he’s probably used to, once he realized he wanted to get to know her better. Using Sheba was not beneath him. The lie he told was dumb and though she needed to address the issue, September really over reacted. And yes it was driven by previous bad experience with her punk ex. Just glad she eventually was able to listen and forgive since Ori didn’t have bad intentions and they were both miserable
This book has a lot of telling, instead of showing. I didn’t feel like we got a good sense of who Orion and September were of what drew them to each other, beyond physical attraction. Additionally, the author took the time to make her disdain for Asian people clear and I want her to take a step back and figure out why she feels like tired stereotypes are the way to go. Especially since these instances weren’t even necessary to advance the story and only detracted from any esteem I had for September and her best friend. Do better.
September and Chef Ori were a whole vibe! I loved this book from beginning to end. It was a light read yet still gave a bit of drama, pettiness, and comedy. This couple had a meet-cute that was hilarious and so relatable. Chef Ori had me side-eyeing him so much in this book because his attitude and mouth were on another level. September held her own, and I loved her sweet and strong personality because she balanced Ori out. This book was so entertaining; even the side characters held vital parts and made this a more enjoyable read. I would love to see more from these characters in the future, especially Erica!
Such a sweet story, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! Such a nice surprise weekend read. I loved Orion and September’s chemistry, but September and Sheba’s connection was so sweet!!!
This was such a cute and sweet short story. I loved the chemistry between Ori and September. I loved how much they loved Sheba and it’s always funny seeing how people treat their pets like humans. This was a very good read that I would recommend.
Sabrina is one of my favorites and I always look forward to taking in whatever she puts on. I love Orion and September’s story. The story went quickly and I read it in less than an hour. I only wish I had more.
Ms. Scales I simply loved Orion and September, and let's not forget Miss Sheba. He was mean she was stubborn, but their feelings for Sheba led to them finding what they needed in each other.
First by this author, I enjoyed all of the characters. Would love for Erica to have her own book. Loved how Orion and September met over their love of Sheba, Orion's dog.
