I started this book totally clueless to what it was about so the first few pages made little sense to me but I kept reading. The story unfolded nicely. Ended with a happy ending which I wasn’t expecting normally when violence is involved the one you want to survive dies. A great quick read for a Sunday coffee break.
This short story is exactly what I expected from the author of the Dead Sagas. A well written and intriguing story filled with sword action, warriors and a malevolent evil to be vanquished.
In a faraway kingdom a retired warrior heeds his peoples call and journeys to face down an ancient evil. Against his better judgment, he leads an armed band into the depths below in one last ditch effort to save his land.
Very well written, great world building with an unshakable sense of dread permeating every page. Check this out!
Lee C. Conley is back with a bang and is at again by sucking you in with his dark and eerie collection of horror and weird tales, and let me tell you, if you are a fan of horror, then this is for you and just in time for halloween season.
Once More Into The Dark is a collection of short stories with a beautiful dark setting, which enwraps and enthrals you from the very first page, leaving you in goosebumps as we learn the fate and the horrors the characters are put through by Scythe swinging Lee C. Conley.
Each tale will leave you immersed and engrossed in the authors storytelling, as he captures each scene spooktacularly while you turn each page in dreaded anticipation, leaving you on tender hooks, as if there is someone watching you.
Lee C. Conley worldbuilding is fantastic, and his writing is sublime with a wonderful penmanship of delicious prose where each tale brings you to different dark lands, horrors of World War two, witch-trials and big ass sea monsters.
I absolutely loved all these stories, but my absolute favourite was The List. A witch hunt with an excellent twist and an ending that will leave you contented and elated.
If you love your horror bloody, gore ridden, and rich in darkness, then I very highly recommend you check out Lee C. Conley books, the mastermind behind the grimalicious Dead Sagas.
Cracking short dark story by Lee Conley, he is at it again, by sucking you in from start to finish with its dark and eerie setting, just like the Ritual books, has you on tender hooks and as if someone is watching you...😁 highly recommend....💯
Once More into the Dark is a wonderfully eerie collection that delivers exactly what the title promises. Each story feels like stepping into a different shadow subterranean terrors, ancient drowned worlds, witch-trials, cults, sea monsters… there’s a delicious variety here, and Lee C. Conley handles each one with atmosphere and weight. What I loved most is how the stories blend horror with history and dark fantasy in a way that feels both fresh and timeless. Some tales are unsettling, others quietly haunting, and a few genuinely gave me chills. It’s the perfect collection for readers who enjoy dipping into different kinds of dread without ever knowing what form the next monster will take. I enjoyed this one a lot.
