Amelia Beckham, an orphan, sees the world through eyes filled with wonder and joy. Her spirit, untouched by life's hardships, finds beauty in the most unexpected places. When she answers an ad to become a mail-order bride, her heart flutters with anticipation, not fear. She knows not what awaits her, yet she strides forward, her faith unwavering. Anthony Martin, a widower who weathered by life's storms, carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. His two boys, ages six and four, keep him going every day whether he wants to or not. He sends a letter to a matchmaker in Massachusetts, hoping against hope that she will be able to find a woman who will bring happiness back into the lives of him and his sons. Their worlds collide in Midland, amidst the endless Texas plains. Amelia's boundless optimism meets Anthony's pragmatic realism. She teaches him to see the silver linings, transforming his life into something he thought he’d never have again. Will the two of them find happiness in the middle of West Texas? Or will the two of them find that they cannot be together?
Anthony sent off for a mail order bride after his wife died from an illness.Amelia was aging out of the orphanage she had lived in her entire life. She was one of those people who was always happy, always busy. She couldn’t every just sit still and she was happy with her new family and new children. She is such a worker her new husband is shocked. This was such a good book I couldn’t put it down.
This is the perfect story to show how one lives joyfully. Amelia's joy is contagious as it spills over to her new husband, Anthony, and his two sons. She exceeds his expectations and am sows some joy with the community.
A ray of sunshine bubbling with energy she leaves the orphanage to go west as a mail order bride. The story is full of her happiness and wanting to make everyone happy. A fun read.
Amelia' s happiness went right through me. Was fun watching her loving and giving nature reach the entire congregation. Wish I had that much energy and fortitude. Feels good.
A nice a sweet read by Kristen Osbourne. She has written it very well. An orphan goes West to find her new family. She finds a man with two boys of his own that only need a mother. Such an enjoyable read. Just loved it.
Another great book in a great series by one of my favorite authors. I've enjoyed each of these books and this one didn't disappoint. It had me laughing out loud and left me with a smile.
