Liberating Deceit #3

Claiming Liberty

Rate this book
Claimed.

That’s what Liberty has been to me since she walked into my life. First by another man. Then by myself.

I waited years to have her, spent my nights craving her, did my best to cage her, and none of it has worked out the way I planned.

As far as I can see, there’s only one thing left to do…

Let go and hope she claims me too.

A note from Nicole:
Claiming Liberty is the final book in the dark romance trilogy, Liberating Deceit, and is JAM-PACKED with suspense. Get ready for a grand finale!

Claiming Liberty

This is book three of the Liberating Deceit series. Books one and two need to be read first. This review contains spoilers for the first two books! 🤩

This book starts with a flashback to when Lib and Angel met at the party. Back in the present, Lib is with Peter, having just escaped. When she gets herself back onto the island, Peter has a plan that is bigger than anything Lib could imagine, and will change everything. She must chose between family and love. 🩵

This book is a super spicy story and a conclusion to the trilogy. I am so upset that this series is over! 😭😭😭 Nicole better be writing another one and soon!!

“I don’t think anyone feels true sadness or loss, more like peace that comes at the end of so much suffering. Broken pieces put together, not in their original shape, but creating a beautiful mosaic, nonetheless“ 🩵

Wow! Even though this is the third book in this series, there is still a lot going on. Readers will get so much more than they bargained for. Liberty has figured out a way to get back on the island with the help of Peter once she finds out Elsie is there. Liberty is determined to burn the island to the ground and get all of the girls to safety. She needs help and Peter seems like just the person to help her on her crusade. Unfortunately, Peter wants to take down everyone including Liberty's beloved Angel. Liberty cannot let that happen, can she?

This fast-paced ending will have readers hearts beating out of their chests. Everywhere you turn something else happens or is revealed that could tumble the house of cards to the ground. Readers will second guess everyone's intentions and are wondering who can be trusted like Liberty. Nicole created a suspenseful trilogy that will leave readers clamoring to read her whole library of books.

Claiming Liberty is book 3 of Nicole Cypher’s trilogy and if you loved books 1 and 2 - then 3 will not disappoint. The cliffhangers from books 1 and 2 kept me spinning so I sure was happy to find some resolutions in this book.

The story starts with a great flashback which gives the reader insight into Liberty and her husband’s relationship and how low she felt the night she met Angel for the first time. Their chemistry was instant - I knew it!

Throughout the book there are many shocking interactions between Peter, Liberty and Angel as tension builds while the reader is left to determine who is loyal and who is lying while plans are being made to rescue the slaves on the island. Will the island be shut down and Sawyer and his allies be captured???? I promise you will get answers in book 3!

A wonderful, fast paced ending

It never matters how powerful you are, you can't always win a numbers game. This was an absolutely great ending to an amazing trilogy. Betrayal, love, secrets, change of hearts on both sides, and war. How could it get better than that? I'm sad to see it end but it was truly a great read.

Great conclusion to the series. I loved Liberty. She is an amazing woman. She went through a lot in this series. But she did what she needed to do for Elsie. She also had Angel by her side. Sawyer finally opened up to Angel and cleared the air. This is a must read series. I love how the book ended.

The perfect ending to this trilogy!
I just love how everything tied up at the end.
Our main characters finally got their HEA after so much pain and suffering.
New players came into the field and knowing who to trust was delightful.

Claiming Liberty is the third and final installment of this dark romance in the Liberating Deceit of this kinky and depravity trilogy. There are no cheating or cliffhanger and the story ends on a oh so satisfying happily-ever-after. The story picks where it left off in that mind-blowing cliffhanger. An exquisitely crafted story with broken and twisted characters and a complex and twisty storyline that grabs you by the throat from the start and keeps you hooked and on the edge of your seat and turning the pages until the end. This is Angel and Liberty story. A fast paced, dark, twisted, engrossing addictive read.
A story with lots of triggers that may be cringe worth and disturbing for some people
filled with secrets, danger, violence, hatred, anger, revenge, revelations, retaliation, sold, resentment, mystery, darkness, madness, fear, power and control, captive romance, lust, anger, debauchery, depravity, voyeurism, escapism, Non-Con, Dub-Con, power play, lies, passion, lust, enemies, suspense, drama, jealousy, survival, steam, plot twist galore, deception, manipulations, power exchange, dominance, submission, surprises, trauma, trust issues, push and pull, betrayal, human trafficking, dark romance, hate-to-love, grief, opposite attracts, insta-lust, emotions and mental turmoil, slow burn romance, forced proximity, kidnapping, obsession, captivity, possessiveness, abuse, action packed, murder, obsessive hero, fierce heroine, pain, stockholm syndrome, passion, greed, evil, suspense, captor-captive romance, loss, lust at first sight, predator and prey, redemption, cruelty, backstabbing, double-cross, death, stockholm syndrome, brainwashing story, surprise pregnancy and so much more.

Angel saw Liberty for the first time on the terrace and instantly fell in love with her. They talked for a while about her disliking rich people and how they were judgmental. He couldn't take his eyes off her. Angel and Sawyer had came to she same function possibly to scout for more female. It was then that Liberty heard about the island where he frequent but they did dwell on the subject. Fast forward to Liberty being smuggled back on the island to get her niece Elise by Peter in his suitcase after she murdered her husband Robert for selling to the island. She then learn that Peter helped her because he see her as an asset to their cause after she let Angel fall for her. Peter is Angel's pilot and also has a vendetta against him because he believes that he killed his sister Beth who was Angel's slave.
Peter need Liberty help to get the other slaves to betray their master and help destroy the island. There's a lot of things going on around the island that Angel is unaware of that Sawyer leaves him in the dark about all because of his love for Liberty and him knowing that he couldn't trust Angel to not side with Liberty against him. Sawyer wasn't as dumb as everyone believed he was always ten step of everyone with his his plans and planned ahead for his future in the event that a revolt would take place. Chaffer is Sawyer biggest enemy even though Monty Chaffer is responsible for majority of Sawyer business because he's the one who gets the women and bring them to the island. Angel was loyal to a fault even when he hears that Sawyer send Jasper to kill Liberty he still would not turn against him and join Peter, Kingsley and Layan in their cause to destroy the island that he had helped build and lived for twelve years and most of his adult life.

He tampered with the cigars and inject poisons and take them to Chaffer's house killing a lot of the men which causes to slaves to run back to the Manor since they no longer have a master. Sawyer knew that Angel had release Liberty and wanted him to tell her where she was he's keeping Elise as leverage to get her back and to kill her.

Sawyer came to visit Angel unannounced at his home and found Liberty, when Angel came back to his house Sawyer tells his guards to tie Angel up and set the house on fire then takes Liberty back to the Manor where he had forty two other women imprisoned on the third floor including her niece. Peter went to Angel house and saved him just before he dies from smoke inhalation. Chaffer told him that he wasn't responsible for his sister's death. Angel could not believe that Sawyer would try to kill him even though he had heard many times from different people to kill him. He believes that Sawyer was his brother, his friend and partner. Chaffer and his men stormed the Manor killing a lot of people, but he was also killed as well because he was part of the problem. Sawyer redeemed himself a little bit when he saved the forty-three women that he imprisoned from burning to death. He was very remorseful for what he did to Angel and knew that he didn't deserve to die. Angel let him go after liberty told him that he saved their lives. The finally got their hard fought HEA and moved to Spain by Angel remaining family.

Saved you?

He enslaved you.

He ordered your death.

In the final installment of a trilogy laced with deceit, lies, betrayal and love, Liberty and Angel Ramos are trying to do the last thing they can imagine doing. Staying far away from one another, Angel entrusted his pilot Peter Shaw to get Lib far away from him in Spain, but unknowingly she ends back up on the island as she's desperate to find her niece Elsie. Armed with intimate knowledge of how the kidnapping and enslavement works, Lib feels confident they can shut it all down without leading to any innocent woman's death. Meanwhile, Sawyer is feeding with Angel as the two are unraveling decades worth of friendship over one girl in particular. Not ready to admit he needs him dead, Angel tries reminding with Peter and Lib this doesn't need to happen to reach the goals. But when Sawyer would ultimately turn his back to him and order his own death, he's forced to recognize how very little he might know his best friend.

Forty-three women. That’s how many are trapped on the third floor.

Forty. Fucking. Three.

Forty-three human beings who are going to burn to death. Forty-three more notches on my ever-growing belt.

When news of the coming betrayal reaches the right people, Lib and Elsie finds themselves back in the Manor and locked away behind a barricaded door. Smelling smoke and heading gunshots, dozens of woman are trying desperately to escape while she simply holds onto hole for Angel. Fighting his own battles, he's tied up and bound in his own house while it's set ablaze, leaving him vulnerable to breathe in the smoke. Saved at the last minute, he's rushing back to the Manor to find Lib but she's nowhere in sight. Learning she's trapped in a blazing building sets him moving where he confronts Sawyer for the final time, neither man willing to end the others life truly. Returning back to Spain to where his family was from, Lib is pregnant and the two were married rather quickly as they start planting roots for their future family to come.

Let me be the first to say that I am EXTREMELY GUTTED that this series is over! From the beginning, I was hooked with the writing style and plot line that Nicole Cypher presented, and this trilogy has done nothing but take me on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I am so glad I stumbled upon her because her writing style, attention to detail and development of characters and plot is fantastic and I certainly will be devouring everything else she has out in the world!

This story picks up right where the 2nd book left us gasping and from beginning to end, there was nothing short of suspense, drama, and steamy scenes. I have loved watching Liberty grow into her own strength and watching her fight for all of the innocent women on the island all while wrestling with her affection for Angel, who even though he acts unaware of the happenings on the island in terms of whether the women were there or not of their own free will, does seem to have a conscious and move often than not has shown more of his true human side that what was previously seen in the very beginning of the story. The chemistry between these two has been palpable since their first meeting and I have loved watching it grow and morph into something more as the series has gone on.

I also really enjoyed how some of the supporting cast that we met on the island had more of a role in this story in terms of working towards ending the island all while Liberty had some tougher decisions to make in terms of letting that happen or setting out to save the one person she returned to the island for. It was nice to see this story end with hope as opposed to the doom and gloom of the previous books and I will be really interested to see if we get some more spinoffs with some of the other characters that we were introduced to with this world- particularly Sawyer. He may seem extremely dark and dangerous and just not an overall nice guy but something tells me that he wasn't always that way and that he may just be able to be redeemed if the right person were next to him like Angel.

Claiming liberty - book 3 in the Liberating Deceit series. The final installment.

I'm so sad that this series has ended, I found author Nicole cypher this year and it's been a great year 🖤 I must say coming across her books was a god send, I ate them up, and they ate me up too.! They sure did, they had me on a choke hold, on my knees, and on the edge off my seat and I loved every minute of it. She has gained a life long fan.

In this installment we find answers to our questions, we get to see lib grow so much throughout this series we actually get to see how much they both grow, yes there where lies, betrayal, decite, loyalty, none loyalty, someone stiring the pot turning them against each other, but it worked out so well. I know your asking but what happened with angel and lib? Did they get together and leave all the shit behind? Did they get to leave the island ? I'm not telling you, you will have to read it.

"Broken pieces put together, not in their original shape, but creating a beautiful mosaic, nonetheless."

This series was engaging, intriguing, intense disturbing, emotional, dark, steamy, I would absolutely recommend this series without a doubt, I can not wait to get the story of a certain character from this series its going to be epic.!

"Never would I have thought it would be so simple to put my life on the line for the sake of my freedom and others."

"But the biggest change of all is how much I deeply, truly love myself. Love the woman I’ve become and the strength I’ve summoned, which has given me the ability to truly love others. To truly love Angel."

This is book 3 of the Liberating Deceit Trilogy. This follows Angel and Liberty's story. All three books deal with the dark subject matter of human trafficking, non-consent, as well as domestic abuse, violence, alcohol/substance use, murder etc.. The trigger warnings should be taken very seriously.

I loved the series as a whole even with the cliffhangers. I loved that each book picked back up right where the last book left off on a cliffhanger. I did like how strong the female lead was and the character growth of Angel as well. Although a few things didn't quite add up for me. For example as things were coming out how many women were brought to the island not of their own free will, hence the guards, torture area in the basement etc… still Angel was acting like he didn't realize most women there were not there of their own free will and that this whole thing is a huge human trafficking situation. He absolutely knew this so this didn't really make sense to me. I am glad we get a HEA even if I don't fully forgive him for being a Human Trafficker for many years. As for Sawyer. I just don't know at the end of this book we find Sawyer doing some things that seemed completely out of character for him I think probably to humanize him so he can possibly get his own redemption story arc. IDK if I want him to get a HEA he sure doesn't seem to deserve it. I'm sure I'll still read it if the author does write it just because I love her books but I wont be happy about it lol.

I loved this whole series from start to end, literally could not put any of the books down. I especially loved that we got a chapter in this book from Sawyer’s POV. It was nice to see if he had any morals whatsoever or was just a complete psychopath. In theory I could have given all 3 books a 5 star rating, but I decided on 4 stars for book 2 and 3 because I needed to get across how much I loved the first book and Goodreads doesn’t allow half stars. Realistically this book and book 2 are 4.75 stars.

Although this is first and foremost a dark romance series and a large portion of the plot is romance based, it felt like that was just a sub category until end end of book 2. To begin with it reads more suspenseful, following the MC who has been sold by her husband to live as a sex slave on a remote island. The books definitely focus more on her survival through attempted escapes, manipulation of other people and quite literally fighting for her life, all whilst having a target on her back from the moment she arrives at the island. I also want to highlight that whilst there are mentions of SA there aren’t any scenes of SA from what I can remember, it’s all just inferences that it happens to some people on the island.

All in all I wish I’d never read any of these books so that I can experience them for the first time again.

•This is the final book in the liberating deceit series and wow was it amazing!!

•This book was so fast page and kept me engaged the whole time! I’m sad that this series is ending but I’m excited to read more books by Nicole! In this book we get to see a lot of answers to unanswered questions from the past three books! We learn a lot about the relationship with Sawyer and Angel and all the lies going around. If you want to read a pace paced dark romance series, I highly recommend this one!!🖤

•”She's here, in my arms, and I hope she doesn't plan on leaving because I don't have the strength to let her go again. She's mine. Forever. End of story.”

•"I'm okay," I reply, closing my eyes. "As long as I'm with you, I'll always be okay."

I started and finished this whole series in an evening, so they've sort of blended all together. I was just so caught up in how this was going to play out, and how the author was going to try to redeem the MMC. I could tell early on that the author was torn between making the MMC the bad guy, but also wanting him to not be the bad guy like the other bad guys. My favourite was the first book, it felt the most authentic to the characters and the plot. She wasn't afraid to do bad things, and yet still have the MC love him. The second derailed slightly from this. The third had completely thrown away the integrity of the MMC, he went from being a strong character, who outwitted everyone, while also having complex feelings and emotions and an amazing backstory. To someone who was a complete idiot that couldn't see anything in front of him, and destroyed his whole adult life backstory to turn him into a victim too, instead of the complex hero from the start of the series. It was a disappointing end to something that had a lot of dark potential.
Overall though, it was an entertaining read for an evening.

This is book three in The Liberating Deceit series and it completes Liberty and Angel’s story. This book continues where book two left us with another cliffhanger ending and now we will finally find out all the secrets but be aware because this trilogy is not for the faint hearted and you will need to read the trigger warnings as this is really a dark read and not for everyone. Wow Wow Wow what an amazing ending to an amazing trilogy where your questions are revealed. There will be secrets, betrayal, suspense, drama, lies, intense and emotional situations, dark themes, great characters, hot chemistry, strength, challenges and situations that will have you on the edge of your seat while holding your breath and turning the pages because you are unable to put this book down and not only because you need to see what happens next but because it is so addictive and you want to know what the outcome and future holds for them all. I definitely recommend you read this trilogy and you will not be disappointed and I can’t wait to read more books by this author in the future.

What a shocking way to end a suspenseful criminal dark journey awesome book it’s way worth all the cliff hangers if you ask me! The characters are so easy to want everything to work out plus the story to continue on and on. In this book we get introduced to some new characters plus dark secrets get revealed the barer between what you believe and what actually is true becomes hard to see! it will have you intrigued from start to finish trust me this action packed, mystery page turner full of betrayal and so much more is impossible to book down! We also get to see more amazing strength Liberty has in her it’s a great book guys you don’t want to miss! I personally want more but am very happy about how everything turned out in the end! I really hope the author has more in store like what happens to angel’s friend now will he change his ways for good and get a happy ending or will he always be the bad guy just my thoughts.

Claiming Liberty’ is Nicole Cypher’s action packed finale in her Liberating Deceit series. Angel and Liberty are dealing with their own problems, but are on a crash course toward the island and all of the betrayals, lies, and cruelty by Sawyer and the Masters. She loves him and knows Angel loves her, but years of friendship with Sawyer make it difficult for him to be objective. Revelations rock Angel’s core beliefs and endangers his entire world.

Nicole fully explored Liberty’s ironic comparison between her husband and her captors. The lies she told herself to normalize her marriage held her captive as much as the island did. Danger, suspense, and intrigue to bring down evil is pretty awesome: lots of fire and explosions! Angel and Liberty together takes massive effort, but gives hope for a better future! I loved this trilogy: it made me furious, it made me cry, and it made me scream!.

It seems like I've waited a lifetime for this book! I have been on both sides of the fence with Liberty. TEAM Liberty, of course I want her to come out on top and definitely get her vengeance. On the other side, I've been infuriated with her and some of the choices/decisions that she made. Then there's Angel! I realllly had my doubts whether he was redeemable or not. Then of course his complete ignorance when it comes to Sawyer just makes me livid. I found this incredible author this year and I'll tell you it has been a fabulous year trying to get all caught up with her work BUT, Liberating Deceit has been without a doubt one of the very best reads this year. This series is engaging, intriguing, intense and so emotional. I would absolutely recommend this series without hesitation!

This series just kept getting better and better.

The author is amazing. I have never in my life been so conflicted on if I liked a character or wanted them to die.

I know this book was about Angel and Liberty but I want to talk about Sawyer. Sawyer.

Where do I start with Sawyer? He’s the villain (I think), the bad guy, the one who we all want dead, the guy who doesn’t care about anyone or anything but himself. Well here is the thing. I think he does care. He just cares more about himself. I just think he has a weird way of showing it. At the end I hated him so much and wanted him to die but also didn’t.

And just for that this book is 5 stars, because the writing is so amazing it made me question my wishes about that horrible person.

So I read this trilogy back to back, simply because the first book was so tragic I needed some light at the end of the tunnel to be able to breathe after book one.
SO GLAD I DID!!! There are no words to express all the conflicting emotions and confusion these books will bring and that doesn’t even touch how triggering most of the content you are exposed to in all three books. This story fortunately has lots of steamy (in a good way) scenes and FINALLY some redeeming qualities but don’t hope for more that reality! I’m conflicted on this series being over because just when the tunnel has light the book ends and although it’s not a true cliffhanger there are SO SO MANY characters that are left unknown. Loved this Trilogy!!

I was devastated at the end Taming Liberty. Like devastated and angry at the author. My heart was broken and the impact the book had left me stayed with me as I waited to be able to read Taming Liberty. But the wait was soo worth it. I couldn’t imagine how this author was going to pull together this book, but she did it and did in a way that was totally comprehensible. This book was a rollercoaster ride of emotions, had a ton of action and now has left me wondering about Sawyer. Was what he did in the end enough to redeem him of all his heinous acts and have him become possibly one of the best anti-heroes I have ever known? I don’t know but I want to see. I just hope we get to see more of Liberty and Angel because I miss them already!!!

I loved it! The whole series was utterly splendid! I enjoyed the character growth of both Lib and Angel. Loved when Lib sees herself as a strong and independend especially after what Robert did to her in their relationship, becaus all the time she was independent en strong only he took that away from her.

Angel also can fight his demons and coming out stronger. He was a broken man and did bad things but his heart was al the time with him he just didn't let it speak.

This book is just a beautiful conclusion of the trilogy and I highly recommend everyone to go read it.

Wow what a ride that was. I never lost interest in this trilogy. Angel pulled me in from the beginning and had me wrapped around his little finger. Liberty turned out to be the strong Fearless woman that we all drive to be. Sawyer even though he did good in the end still did not redeem himself in my eyes. Angel may have done some bad things but I feel like he made amends. If you'd never take in Liberty and fell in love with her nothing would have changed. I would love to follow up book for Liberty and Angel showing them a couple of years down the road.

★“I’ve changed. I’ve been a wh*re, a slave, a runaway, and now a rebel.”★

Review Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars - Liberty wholly lives up to her name when she is galvanized to take action in this final installment. The road towards Angel and Liberty’s HEA was fraught with danger, action, and suspense, as they battle the island’s divided inhabitants, the dynamics which Angel now has had his eyes opened to. The truth was undeniable when he finally realizes it, and he has to make a life changing choice. The tides are finally turning for wrongs to be righted, and freedom is closer on the horizon. Engaging ending to this series!

All questions answered. Thrilling conclusion for the trilogy. I was invested and glad I finished all three books. I started reading them a few days ago. Let’s just say, I was hooked very quickly. The ending is happy and I’m glad it came along when it did. We get just enough of a future forward. Nicely written. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. It’s really hard for me not to spill the beans this time. You won’t be disappointed. I was very pleased to see the struggle end. If you love happy endings after suspense, you’ll love this book. Happy reading!

This is book three of the Liberating Deceit Trilogy. The twists are not done yet, this conclusion still has some surprises as everyone's lies are exposed. The truth will set you free but what is the cost? This was a great story, I loved the ups and downs and suspenseful moments as lies were uncovered and consequences were feared. Liberty is such a strong, fierce and smart character that gets her HEA when all the dust settles. Enjoy!.
