Hot for my Single Dad Firefighter

Rate this book
Fire Chief Blake, also known as Goliath, is an imposing figure that easily commands a room.

I would be lying if I said I hadn’t noticed him in years past.

As an ER nurse, having honed the resilience of steel and a wicked sense of humor, I thought I’d seen it all.

That is until Goliath ended up in my ER.

I’m used to dealing with difficult patients, but he pushed every button I had.

When it seemed like there was no breaking through, his daughter entered, transforming this unyielding giant into a calm, soothing presence.

Over several weeks, our dynamic evolved throughout a series of physical checkups, hinting at a shift between us.

A connection that, much like a stubborn flame, refused to be extinguished.

Is it his vulnerability, his silent strength, or those intense golden-brown eyes?

My professional code screams distance: he's a line I can’t cross.

But can I resist the pull of this wild, tantalizing attraction that blazes brighter each day, threatening to consume my carefully constructed walls?

DNF so no rating. The MMC was the most arrogant, stupid, dumb, childish, annoying, conspiracy theorist character I’ve read in a long time. Damaged lungs & heart, broken bones in his back and his response is that insurance companies just want money and doctors make up diagnoses to help them.

Arc Review

A heartbreaking opening. Especially when it involves children at the hospital due to burns.

Life as a first responder is also a toil on the body of the Male & Female frontline. Both physically and mentally/emotionally.
Blake has thus fallen into this situation. As Chief of a Fire Station, he places himself first into any situation. What he denies himself is self care bought forth from fear. Being strong for his daughter - Zoey, and team is his achievement. But at what cost??

Lisa, a Nurse Practitioner has taken it upon herself to motivate Blake into better health (surgery to save his life) upon reflection of losing her father who was also the Chief at said Firehouse.

Even though emotions run high, the interaction between Blake & Lisa is sexually high strung. Sexually, the two are like hot potatoes but…. and I don’t say this with disrespect to Isabel - after one night of full on sex, term ‘Baby’ just doesn’t do it for me 🤔. A good read, suitable for many readers who prefer mild romance. Storyline was enjoyable, a plus in many ways.

Blake is a Fire Chief, single dad to Zoey and in the hospital ER for burns and smoke inhalation. Lisa is the attending nurse practitioner who barks right back at his stubbornness. He calms down the second Zoey arrives but still walks out later. Lisa visits him next day at the station and they realize their similarities as her father was also a chief at that station and did not do treatment, dying before she had a chance to say goodbye. Loved the heartwarming characters, their struggles and big decisions. The storyline shows the true family bond of the firefighters and how they look out for each other. Zoey was especially cute and domineering to her father. Loved the ending where it all comes together in a happy place.

could use some work

The flow of the story and character building was a bit strange. First the FMC was so stubborn and strong willed and suddenly shes submissive and soft spoken and cleaning the MCs house. It was also strange that the male main character needed surgery to he would die and then they are truing to fix the problems which we don’t really know what they are with a healthy diet and supplements. It makes the story feel very old fashion and traditional and it makes the male character seem like an old man. He is also still on active duty as a fireman with his heart condition. Doesn’t seem safe. They text messages were so formal. It was weird. They daughter is supposed to be little but shes cooking for her dad and taking care of him. It all felt rushed. Not my favorite book.

Pretty Good, Pretty Steamy

This was a pretty good read. I loved Blake, and I loved Lisa. I thought they made a great couple. This was kind of an insta-love story, but that doesn't bother me. My only complaint is that I couldn't figure out how old Zoey was supposed to be. At times, she was portrayed as a little kid, like elementary school aged. At other times, she spoke like an adult and was making dinner and taking care of her dad like she was a teen. That part just bugged me.
Overall, it was a quick read that was pretty good with some steamy parts. :)

Good Beginning to a Series

This is the first book I have read by this author and I will continue to read the series. Good character development, but I times I wanted to throttle Blake.

exciting

Take a quite exasperating hero. Add a stubborn nurse to get to him. Toss with his adorable daughter and you get a great trio, eventually.
Some of the writing was a little stilted, I would call it. A bit too much talking about what was going on, rather than showing.

Hot for my single dad firefighter

Nice easy read. Lots of action both in the hospital and at the fire station. Lisa and Blake we knew from the beginning were meant to be together. This is one of those short stories that you can read in a couple of hours.

This book highlights how some men can be so dumb….but it gives the woman a chance to be a caretaker so it worked for this story😉. Blake is a firefighter and lands himself in the hospital and is stubborn and checks himself out. Lisa is a nurse practitioner and this situation resonates with her so she tracks him down to try to help him with his diagnosis. They are both stubborn and don’t want to admit that there may actually be feelings but you will have to read the book to find out the rest!
