I was born and raised in sunny Saint Petersburg, FL on a steady diet of action movies and fantasy novels. After 9/11, I left a career in photography to join the United States Army. Since then, I have travelled the world and done everything from teaching English in China to driving a forklift. I studied creative writing at Eckerd College and wrote four hard-boiled mysteries for Delight Games before releasing the first Jake Noble book. When not writing, I can be found indoor rock climbing, playing the guitar, and haunting smoke-filled jazz clubs in downtown Saint Pete. I’m currently at work on another Jake Noble thriller. A dear old friend from the Peach State shared this book with me while visiting for the holidays. She promised it was a good one to read and that I would 'get' what it's all about. She was right! I found Noble Fall to be HILARIOUS! What talent William Miller has in typing parody, particularly in this comic action-adventure spy tale. I laughed on almost every page. My friend and I laughed so hard at some of the scenes, we had tears in our eyes, and our sides split from guffawing!

📍Creepy scene with knuckle-kissing. He musta had big, thick lips: - The Duke took Tiffany’s hand in both of his own and placed a kiss on her knuckles.

📍 My friend and I took turns mimicking sounds we thought were like this: Mary cleared a roadblock from her throat with a sound like stones scraping together in winter.

📍 Wink, wink, incisor! You little flirt, you!- His attacker was tall with a shark’s lifeless eyes and a gold tooth winked every time he spoke.

📍 Strange fruit! - The sun was a fat red fruit hanging low when Noble joined a line of tourists for the Tower Bridge.

📍 What is a “Floridan?” A “Floridan slip?” - “No Floridan dresses like that in winter,” she said.

📍 “Oh, poo.” Perhaps she should have pronounced the “h” as in “Oh, pooh!” - “Oh poo.” She pouted and then smiled. “Go on then, have your conversation, but you owe me.” Hunt smiled. “A debt I’ll gladly repay.”

📍 I’d get that heart murmur checked out William, I mean, Jake — His heart hammered against his chest and made a dull wet thum-thrush in his ears.

📍 Death by carbon monoxide poisoning? That would explain the black blood - Someone had hit the poor little guy so hard one side of his head was mishappen and blood congealed into black puddles.

📍Tomatoes are in the nightshade family - Noble grabbed what he thought was a tomato plant but could have been deadly nightshade for all he knew,

📍Do houses have shoulders? - The houses here were all shoulder to shoulder with no gap between.

📍Buzz-a-buzz-buzz-zap! - His stomach was a tight knot of buzzing electric. . . . There was a buzzing hive of electric bumblebees in his belly.

📍Ouch! - A shard of cold ice stabbed Hunt in the belly . . .

📍What are leather saps? - Wexler would be beaten with leather saps . . .

📍Now glue has gone WOKE??? - Her face was a broken mask held in place by glue made from pride.

📍Twang! - He gave the appendage a sharp jerk, heard tendons in the shoulder twang like piano wires . . .

📍There, there, sweetie; don’t scream. - The little Renault let out a bubbling scream as it hurtled backward toward the slatboard fence. Noble threw one arm over the passenger seat

📍Moons over the Jag wheel - Noble had both hands cramped on the wheel of the Jaguar and his knuckles were white moons.

📍We wouldn’t want our friends hooting like owls, either! - His bare feet touched the cobbled stones and an electric chill went up his legs. He resisted the urge to hop around hooting like an owl.

Ignoring the spelling errors and bad grammar (which I believe is intentional), this book was a hoot and a holler! I can definitely see the author putting himself in the character of Jacob “Jake” Noble. This story is as funny and comical as a guy almost tripping over the ottoman in his living room! Overall, Noble Fall is a good crack at parody of spy novels. Bravo!

Author went down hill. Big time! Waste of time.

Author still rants too much about religion. EVERY BOOK!!! Enough is enough. We know you and Jake’s mom are religious. Yay. Now shut up, stop preaching, and start writing!!!
Another thing it would be great if one of you authors would actually cast the CIA in a good light and have them on the same side as their agents.
I know that part is fiction but wouldn’t it be fun when America is cast in a good light for once? All the same stuff. CIA throws the agent under the bus, agent is always on their own with a little help from a tech. Same old!
Anyway, after reading all 7, I could honestly say the author is a 2 star. Barely! Closer to a 1 star. This however is his stupidest book by far!!!! This book is a 1 star at best.
He also needs to stop saying the same old crap he says in every book. Like chewing the inside of his cheek, everybody in his books sucks their teeth or has their shoulders up and turtled into his neck! Several pages of the game the computer nerds play, a page about the dog or ice cream. So much of that crap the book could have been 100 pages shorter! Come on! Start writing and stop with the drivel!
Now as much as I hate possibly ruining the book the super spy tells the bad guy he’s recording him!!!! Come on! Really. This author has no clue and zero reality in his book.
I don’t think he reads the reviews and that being said it seems most reviews are always 5 stars when they shouldn’t be but it would be great if some authors read a review and tried to be better.
I am desperate for good books and read way way too many, so I am fresh out of good books or I would quit this guy. Actually this is his last in this series so I guess I quit anyway!
Save your time and don’t read books from this guy. He sucks. Funny usually authors get better, this guy is opposite. Got much worse and doesn’t use his brain at all.

Noble Fall - Book7, Of course, the odds are against him!

As a reader and fan of author William Miller, it's hard to believe that this is Book 7 of the Jake Noble series. Like the previous books, there is no lack of action or danger. To describe the predicament Jake Noble finds himself in book 7 I'll borrow a line from Led Zepplin, '...there is a bustle in the hedge row', or if you prefer, 'something is rotten in Denmark'. Either way, the stakes could not be higher for Jake Noble. Only his experience and those of his companions will keep him out of a serving a life sentence in a foreign prison, that's if he lives long enough.

Simple job; Get a Chinese defector, who has valuable information, and escort him the the States. Not so simple. They make it to London. The defector is murdered, but Jake had hidden the thumb drive with the information on it. He gets arrested for the murder and escapes, so the entire London police are after him. The CIA has received indisputable cahoots with the Chinese so they are after him too. The Chinese aren't the only ones that want the information on that drive. It is going to take all of his skill to keep himself alive and prove his innocence.

A bit too incredible

Too much make believe to believe
Every time you think, well that's the end of him, nope, somehow, something happens that gets him out of his predicament.
There must have been more armed police assigned to this one case, than the entire count for the whole of the UK, let a lone just London
With all that said, it's action packed and fast paced and if you enjoy spy thrillers you'll enjoy this

Troubled times for Noble

Agent Noble once again on an important mission, finds himself under attack from several sides. Lies and disinformation plague him as well as dangerous characters trying to get rid of him forever. Fast paced action abounds in this seventh Noble novel. Enjoyed very much and as usual looking forward to what will happen next.

Jake Noble

I like Mr. Miller’s style. So many other writers go too over the top. I guess that sells. Not for me. I’ll take a good story and good writing any day. A few typos but a refreshingly good read.

Noble Triumph

This was an excellent read! William Miller’s books are always mesmerizing. Although Noble may have a ways to go with this adventure, I am not concerned that he will come out of this predicament undcathed.

Framed for murder and treason, Jake Noble's attempt to help a Chinese defector did not go according to plan. He now has the CIA, the London police and agents from China after him. He encounters lots of old enemies and old friends along the way.

Great action and good fun. Really enjoyed it.

shockingly well done

My eyes are tired and I’m already looking for more abuse from Mr. Miller. I really am surprised at how riveting and real this narrative is. Very mature story telling — and equally current. I need to know Jake Nobel much better.

Exciting and fun

Noble is at his best and we are left wondering at the end, but I won’t reveal why. However, what breed is his dog Gadsden? And don’t forget to read the Ben Porter series. Ben isn’t physically tough, but mentally he’s up there!
