There are several ways to show your employees that you're not a mean scary boss the second someone has called or referred to you as there boss you need to change some things. You are a coach not a boss but not like a football coach a teaching coach. As a coach your job is not to hurt or embarrass the employee it’s to simply help them and lead them in the right direction so they can be successful. A few ways to approach different situations. If someone has a question about their task help them understand why you gave it to them and what they will have to do, but there is a huge difference between asking and complaining so don't get confused. To most employees meetings are boring and a waste of their time and probably think what you're talking about is nonsense so make your meetings useful and a learning experience. Just because you are a coach doesn't mean you are there to be buddy buddy with the employees because they don’t want a bestfriend they want someone who will teach, coach be helpful.
You have to learn respect from your employees or your peers, but if you want there respect then you have to give them yours. When you see or hear someone talking behind your back don’t automatically get angry think to yourself have I earned their respect and if not why and how can I address these problems and fix them. Respect is a huge thing for some people respect could be hard to find but deep down you have it so find it and pull it out.
This book was very helpful for different life situations especially when you are in the working business. This gives you ways to approach problems and how to fix or address them. The only thing that was not amazing was it wasn't like climax falling and rising action it was more of a learning book which i really enjoy and i would definitely recommend.
