Tied up some loose ends without making it a whole long drawn out thing. I wish more authors took this approach instead of either not giving the reader closure or writing a long book that's mostly filler. And it was a good way to get reacquainted with the characters before diving into book 4.

If you are like me you had about a million questions at the end of Stranded - that ending, right? Well, this book answers a lot of them. All about the baby (will the baby have the gene?), the crazy complex relationship between Sophie and Hugo and Freddie, all the changes to Charlotte and what that means now that she is back in Sophie's timeline. A few more hints about Janus - and some plans for the future! This is a lighter break after all the intensity they have been dealing with. I think they can use a bit of a breather. Still so many questions - and teasers for Defiance.

Great story! I highly recommend the Shorten series, and this novella fills in some of the background.
