When a woman's fed up, there is nothing you can do about it.
This statement is true about Jacira Ali. She decided to pack up her belongings and relocate several states away from the pain that her fiancé continuously caused her. She had no interest in the glitz and glamour of being with a professional athlete; she wanted peace and normalcy.
Quick Jacobs is currently the league’s most successful running back, and North Carolina’s most eligible bachelor. Retirement is near, and he has the desire to settle down. The only problem with that is the women he meets are only interested in his fame and money.
With the pain in Jacira's heart, she isn’t interested in dating another baller. However, Quick is determined to mend her broken heart and show her that not all pro athletes are not the same.
I liked the story, really I did. I had a slight problem with the editing stuff. The overall story is good, the idea for the story is also good, the execution was off at times. Sports-themed stories always catch my eye. This one was a good read.
This book was good from beginning to end I loved all the characters…Even though the main male characters of this read were rich and at the top of their fields. They were not over the top…with labels, multiple women and drama. What I liked the most about this book was that the women were equally successful and although they went through a lot of craps with their exes. They knew their worth and knew when to throw in the towel and most of all they also had their own careers and money. Troy and Matt were just some dogfish, egotistical men and I see where Troy got his ways from…it was embedded in him by his mother….that heffa thought that it was ok for him to be the way he was as long as she benefitted from it. I enjoyed this book so much, so if you’re reading this review just know…You would be doing yourself a disservice as reader if you didn’t grab this one here. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.
I truly loved Quick and Jacira’s love story. He was definitely meant for her and allowed her to work through her hurt from her past relationship but never gave up on her. Their story had a lot of moving parts and Quisha did an outstanding job bringing their love to life in this book.
I also enjoyed the relationships of the supporting characters come to life around them. Zarayah, Zeus, Joanie, and Pace’s stories were definitely a bonus and of course all the drama that tried to break up all of these relationships.
This is definitely a must read urban sports romance book that I recommend reading to everyone who loves to read!!
Jacira was too aggy in the beginning though Lawd she was too bitter and hurt. I liked how Pace didn’t mind being snappy with her cause sis was tripping. Chile everybody had a delusional ex 🤣🤣. The audacity throughout this book with them exes were just crazy to me but I’m glad they all got put in their places without it causing any problems for their current relationships. Quick didn’t come to play at all and I loved he ain’t care what Jacira was talking about 🤣.
Jacira was sick of her NFL fiancé cheating on her, she finally had enough of Matt. She left NY and moved back home to Charlotte, NC. Her sister Joanne ran a successful online boutique and moved with her. The first day at the hotel bar to handsome gentlemen approached them Jacira was standoffish but Joanne was pleasant and welcoming. Two brothers Pace a businessman and Quick an all star NFL player. Jacira wouldn’t open her heart or mind to new love, Quick was determined to make that happen! A great read!
Jacira deserved so much better than Matt and everyone knew it but him 🙄 He swore up and down he was the prize 🤣 Quick let his intentions known and he stood by everything that he said. Pace was good for JoJo. His ex was a very trash female and got what she deserved for not keeping her legs closed. I love the banter with Jacira & Quick. Sis was fighting a losing battle with him.
If you looking for a quick read to get you out of a reading slump, this book is for you. I was invested in all of the character's storylines and points of view. The only thing is some parts of the book you can tell character names got mixed up for others which could be confusing if you didn’t keep up with the character's names, luckily I was so invested I just placed the name corrections in my head
I enjoyed this book! Jac was hesitant to date a new guy, especially and athlete after Matt’s foolishness. The ex’s in this book were a riot! Quick was such a good example of what a man does when he knows what he wants in life and love. Joanie, Pace, Sarayah, and Zeus made the book even better💜
I enjoyed this from page 1 to the end. Jacira had some hard times bur Quick was a determined man. All the characters were awesome in this one. It flowed smoothly and was great to read. Read it non-stop trying to find out who was gonna end up with whom in the end. Very satisfied.
Loved it. Don't let one bad relationship deter you from love. Jacira was shying away from Quick because of what her ex did to her. All men are not the same and Quick was determine to prove it to her. With persistence and faith, Jacira gave him a chance. Best decision ever. Great read.👍🏿
Jacira had been hurt so much that she turned bitter. I’m glad Quick stuck to his word and proved that it is good men left. I hated the way Troy did their sister but Zeus stepped in and loved her right. Pace was a mess but he loved his Jojo. I’m glad all the couples got their happy ending.
First book by this author and I’m so hooked. Read this in one sitting. I loved that ever played out for them all. I didn’t expect it to be about multiple romantic lives but loved the full circle connection between every one. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
This is an exciting text! "Men who cherish their women are like great books." Quick was immediately smitten by Jacira, who made him work for her affection. But when they finally got together, it was explosive! And let's not forget about the amazing love stories of Pace and Joanie, Sarayah and Zeus – each couple's romance blossomed beautifully.
This book deserved more than 5 stars. Quick needed someone to love Jacira needed to be loved. The drama that occurred to the other characters was so real. I will recommend this book to all my friends .
My first introduction into the author and I would definitely read another. Quick, Pace, and Zeus were good dudes, loved how they loved on Jacira, Joanie, and Serayah.
This is my first read by this author, and I enjoyed it. The way these men knew that the FMCs were destined to be their wives…. Whew chile. They wasn’t playing no games. All gas and no brakes.
I enjoyed reading about each couple and their drama. It was always something with each couple. Glad that Pace, Zeus and Quick got the women that deserved.
Ms Danae has done it again… Love a good sports romance and this hit the spot Jacira and Quick were a match made in heaven, she didn’t let her bitterness make her miss her blessing. The audacity’s of exes was it for me. Does someone dirty and expect them to be there for it was crazy. Joanie and Pace IYKYK wasted no time. Matt should have got tired of getting his ssa handed to him.
